Her presence was like dew on the morning plants, Seika could feel the energy of her adopted sister before she saw her. Tsunami had returned. Part of her wanted to find out just where that smug woman was, and beat the living daylights out of her. Tsunami was supposed to be her father's guard and protector just as Kendei was to her, yet here she was waltzing around and not doing her job. She saw Kendei's lip twitch in a sign of his amusement.
“You know, she is a pretty picture.” Kendei then said, knowing just how to bait the frustrated woman. “I've heard that she has put some of the world's most beautiful women to shame. I'd be careful, maybe Akkuma will decide that he would rather be with he...” He felt Seika's hand around his neck before he saw her move and gave another chuckle. “Always were the spitfire. So easily antagonised.” He dropped his eyes, and Seika's followed their angle, and she saw his sword pressed lightly against her abdomen. She knew that he'd never hurt her, but he knew how to provoke her in such a way that she wanted to see his blood paint the floor with its crimson hue. She dropped her hand, and his fell away too.
“You provoked me.” Seika snapped.
“As would any enemy if they learned of your secrets.” Kendei reasoned. “There are those that would still try to take your life, even now. Maybe especially now.” He offered his arm to her before continuing his escort duty. “Tell me, Princess, what is to happen to me once you marry?” The question stopped Seika mid stride. She hadn't even thought about that. Once he had been deemed as a potential suitor for her hand, but when he failed, he instead became her bodyguard, in hopes that he would one day be able to prove himself worthy of her.
“I... don't know.”She said after a while. “I would never force you away, but I don't know if you would really wish to remain. I was your entire reason for being here, you made that clear right from the start. I would hate for you to miss out...”
“I did remain for you, but that yearning turned into a different kind of love.” He said as he brushed a strand of Seika's hair behind her ear. “If things were different...” His icy blue eyes stared into hers. Seika could feel the tenderness in his touch. He was one of the more powerful members of his clan, but here he was acting as a bodyguard for one of the Clans of a different nation, and he hadn't been home, to his true home, in many years. “If you didn't deserve my love and adoration... I wouldn't be here now.” He kissed her cheek, surprising Seika with his actions. “I hope... I hope that you don't regret marrying him.” Seika just sighed and pulled him into a hug.
“I doubt I will, but I think you regret waiting and hoping.” She replied, stroking his back as she felt his bearded chin rest on her head. It was funny that she was the one consoling him, yet at that moment it looked like she was the one in his arms. “You know... I don't think that you've ever really met my adoptive sister.”Seika said with the smallest chuckle. “I think maybe I should introduce you to my father's lazy bodyguard.”
