Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Hito was walking along the roads in the village, making his way to the village gates, thinking on what he wanted to do, and if it were allowed and possible within this village. He sighed, holding his hands behind his head, his mind thousands of thoughts, with no answers at the moment. He figured the best thing was to just let it play out, and see if he could even leave or not. Upon walking out of the village, and up to the gates, he waited to see if someone would stop him from leaving to search for his objective.

"Such a boring day, huh kid?"

Arashi had been rather silent in his apprenticeship gate duty, choosing to recline along some brushes of grass. He yawned again, the sucker which was in his mouth with a light blue hint was obvious as his tongue had become tinted with that same color. He blinked a few times, outstretching his body before leaning up revealing that he had a sheathed blade upon his back. Shifting his weight slightly he stood up, patting off his clothing with a light pat of dust shifting off his form. Rubbing his white hair he assessed the kid with a gaze that could have been associated with either laziness or with someone who simply had just awoken.

"So what you need man? A tour of the place or something else?"

He had to loosen up his joints slightly so while he waited on the kid's response, he politely simply began to pop his knuckles and do some squats. He couldn't lie though to his mind, the kids appearance alone was something that peeked his interest innately. He was a strange boy, wearing animal pelts and wielding a blade on his backside. Besides the obvious dangerous look on the kid's face maybe symbolizing some kind of hardheaded personality, he was simply interesting. Tilting his head slightly Arashi did something rather unorthodox and given the kid's skill level would naturally go unchecked. His body moved quickly past the boy until he stood somewhat behind him, the blade that was formerly on the kid's back now resting in his hand withdrawn from it's holster.

"This is bad kid, such a blade is relatively useless...what have you been doing swinging at rocks all day? Such a waste....this will never do, these notches here....the chips in the metal weaken the overall structure of the blade, making it more brittle. You need a replacement....and a better quality at that."

Hito chuckled, this new character appearing after he had almost given up and just left the village. "It is a boring day, indeed." He watched as the other stretched, readied himself, and stood up. He noticed the candy in the others mouth, and thought it'd be nice to have some candy as well. But, alas, he didn't have that luxury. He also saw the other had a sword. It would seem, to Hito, that he could learn something from this person if it came down to hands on with a side of violence. Hito yawned as well, tired of his seemingly long wait at the gates, only to find someone had been here a while, napping.

"I need not a tour, but to find a certain something." It was a short remark, but it didn't give any hints on what he was searching FOR exactly. As the other began to do squats and exercise, Hito thought it strange to just stretch while talking. "You seem very.... Relaxed.." Then, the man seemed to move with otherworldly speed to behind him. Hito started to bring up his hands to slap and smack the other away, but before he could fully bring them up, it seemed not only was he disarmed, but he was being scolded on the way his blade was scarred. "It's met many." He relaxed, after seeing the other was only commenting on how worn the blade was. "Why," he paused, "do you think that I need a replacement for it?" His anger had somewhat boiled, hearing it as an insult to his weapon.

[legend="A chance meeting indeed"]
He shifted his focus from the blade to the kid once against, his eyebrow slightly raising as he noted the subtle but obvious change of tone in his voice. It seemed as if he had struck a nerve with the kid which meant one of two things in his eyes, either he could not take criticism or he was truly attached to his blade. Either way Arashi was simply telling the truth from an experts standpoint or so to speak and he wasn't the type not to indulge conversation about blades. Turning his body fully towards the boy, his fingertips motioned in such a way that the blade's handle effortlessly rotated in his grasp. He was analyzing it without explaining that to the kid and understanding it's weakness by feel and sight alone.

"A blade is more than a simple tool, it's an extension of the user and therefore a reflection of the type of shinobi that person is. If you wield such a blade as this without any regard to it's upkeep or structure integrity then I could assume you were trash as a shinobi.....someone uncaring and without any true pride in themselves. However I can tell in your voice that you're insulted by my previous statements which means that you do have pride. Maybe you are just uneducated in these types of things....."

His palm gripped the blade tightly at this point, stopping it's rotation and passively noting how dirty the steel was as well. It was worn but well used in a form more befitting a berserker at best. Someone with unrefined kenjutsu abilities just barely scratching the surface of what it was to be a blade wielder. He shouldered the kid's blade before suddenly exhaling and glancing towards the sky while scratching the back of his head. He professed openly how he felt about the situations.

"Isn't this a pain in my ass....but I guess it cannot be helped. Such a bother...."

Arashi's next movement would be a surprise without a doubt as the blade was forced to perform a slashing motion against his own forearm. Tilting his head to the side, he turned his gaze over towards the kid before showing him his forearm. There was a long gash but the wound was far from deep or severe, instead a fine line appeared that grew faintly crimson as time passed and allowed a single stream of blood to run down his arm. What had happened was simple, the blade's cutting power was so degraded that although it had cut through the fabric of his clothing it had failed to do any significant damage to his flesh.

"A blade like this is going to get you killed. What I can suggest is you talk to a blacksmith to forge you a new one, because this is just trash."

With that said, he pointed the blade handle side first, facing Hito to allow him to take hold of his weapon once again. Crossing his arms he decided to extend the conversation as he did have a job to do afterall.

"So what's your name and what could you possibly be looking for by coming to these gates unsupervised? Should you not be at the academy training...in a classroom...sleeping in the dormitory or otherwise goofing off instead of here?"
[/legend]

He reached out, grabbing the hilt of his blade, and slowly put it back behind his back. His eyes never left the others, yet he could tell the other was just laid back. He had been somewhat annoyed at the intrusion, he felt, of his personal property and space, but maybe that was just how the other was. Some people just didn't have much personal space boundaries, and felt comfortable being in others. "Well, then.. Show me your sword as well, since mine so interests you. Lets see how they compare, then." Hito shifted his weight to his left foot, standing ready to stretch or sit down. Moving his left hand to his hilt, the right would come to his hip, as he waited to view the others weapon.

"A blade is a tool, and a tool that serves well. It IS an extension of my being, as you so put..." His eyebrows flicked, obvious that he was getting annoyed by how the other seemed to ramble on in personal thought. As he mentioned that it was a bother, Hito grabbed his shirt collar, even though he was shorter. He gave it a good shake, "My blade will not get me killed. I will die in battle for other reasons. I fear not death." As he finished his last sentence, he shoved the other back, letting go of the collar. He was pretty pissed that his sword had been called trash, and deemed worthless. His had seen more and had done more then the others, he wagered.

"I am Yaban Hito. I go by Kenpachi, or Hito. I came here, leaving for my own contact search, which I still plan to do, with or without someone accompanying me to where I need to go. Fuck the academy and the classroom. Let the other bookworms, and weak students enjoy their little games and frivolous classes. Meanwhile, I can get stronger, become more of what I wish to be, without playing their silly little games. And who are you, rambler?"

Sitting within The high trees, Junko could only observe the two. They both sparked an interest. "Not one, but two swordsmen." Junko thought striking a match. Setting a blaze to his cigarette, Junko inhaled, enjoying the pleasurable nicotine as he closed his eyes.

"hehehe, the boy has spunk."

"Hmmm."

" His eyes tell it all! the thirst for battle. He's filled with it!"

"you can relate?"

"Oh, of course."

Exhaling through his nose, Junko opened his eyes. Wearing his all black suit with gold trimmings, The young jinchuuriki chuckled a bit, holding his sheathed blade at his side. "those days were something else." Junko thought. As a kid, Junko liked battle and eventually fell in love with it, but his recklessness was bound to get him killed one day. Luckily, he was also blessed with a strong head on his shoulders. Growing up, the orphan boy realized knowledge was power. A great shinobi had to be strong in mind and body. Looking at Hito, it was obvious that he didn't know that yet.

"Damn, the kid is just willing to throw away good knowledge that kumogakure work so hard to provide? Then, he calls all the academy students weak! Boy, You have guts!" Junko thought with a pause. His eyes focused on the two. "Back in my days at the academy, if I would've heard that! Oh boy, we would've had to put that theory to the test." Junko thought with a little excitement.

Simply observing, for now...

It was quick, almost like a blur as his body moved before his own processed what he was doing. For Hito he would find himself quickly pressed against the back wall of the encompassing village gates, Arashi's forearm firmly pressed against his collarbone pinning him between the two. The look in Arashi's eyes had changed from something akin to carefree to a serious but passionate glare. He didn't deviate his gaze from the boy, staring him right in the eyes man to man showing nothing but respect for the individual. The child was but a child after all however as a shinobi of Kumogakure and a member of the Raitoningu Clan he was naturally obligated by his upbringing to stamp out such defiling talk about the academy.

"Every shinobi to have ever grace this village with their lives and trust have come through that academy. It is not a place for weaklings neither is it somewhere you can just belittle as if those classes which give you the basic knowledge of what lies ahead in the shinobi world serve as educational tools. Chakra control, basic jutsu skills...handseal knowledge...skills to properly handle the very weapons and tools that your life will rely on, all of this is learned in the academy for a reason. Before you go downplaying the institution remember this one fact, you yourself are nothing more than a weakling student compared to a shinobi.....Your goals are misplaced if you want to be strong in this world."

His other palm pressed a thumb against his forehead protector, centering along the symbol which represented the village hidden in the clouds. He had an aura of pride in his eyes and it was something he had earned the right to have. What he saw in this kid was simply misguided aspirations about what it took to get to the top and despite the fact that Arashi himself was but a single rank ahead of him, being a genin, he had a matured sense of loyalty and understanding to this profession. Relaxing the pressure of his forearm against Hito he would step back a few steps before sighing and rotating the sucker in his mouth from one cheek to the other.

"You need to understand what the academy offers and why it's there and take advantage of the skills learned from the coursework and training. Once you graduate and receive your headband, from then on your quest for strength will be solely personal and individually motivated. There is no such thing as taking a class to learn a skill or jutsu past the student level, once you make it to shinobihood you're strength will grow as much as your determination to continue to expand your knowledge and abilities."

He reached onto his backside, withdrawing the blade from it's holster and pointing the strangely designed weapon directly at Hito. It was an non-aggressive motion but served to point out something dreadfully clear and that was the difference between a simple unkempt weapon and a shinobi's lifeline. Hito would see that the blade belonging to Arashi was far from the typical design as whole length resembled an overgrown senbon needle, however there was something strange about it. The blade only had a single obvious point, something one could attest to piercing powers not slashing though upon closer inspection they would also noticed that the blade was completely covered in small grooves that looked like fine dots. Each dot was actually very fine and hardened thorns with extremely sharp serrated edges. As he stared at the boy his eyes changed without the use of handseals causing his pupils to become milky white and veins to surface along the edges of his eyes.

"A blade is an tool used to extend the users abilities and reveals everything about a ninja's personality. This blade is known as Hari also coined as Accurate or Precision. It is the only blade of it's kind specifically created to fit my style and abilities."

He turned his hand slightly which gripped the bandaged handle of the weapon, showing that somehow without Hito seeing it that coils of ninja wire were strung between the bandages and around Arashi's palms. There would be possible question about why a blade had ninja wire naturally infused into it's design but that would be up to Hito to question. As his eyes no longer were giving him a standard view of the boy, he was focusing on the strength of the kid's chakra though in doing so he became naturally aware of preying eyes that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. Standing up straight his blade rotated quickly in his palms, far more smoothly than he had done with Hito's own sword and slid into it's holster. The veins and color of his eyes returned to normal...

"Seems like we've drawn an interest...."

His head turned slightly, eye contact although not directly focused at Junko was staring at his general direction. It was enough of a gesture that another shinobi would naturally understand their location was not hidden anymore and there was no point remaining incognito. Crossing his arms he'd wait for Hito's response and to see if the unnamed being hiding nearby would simply bring himself into the fold of conversation.

What was this? Koro had come to the gates today so that he may wander and think, pondering on things that he probably should let die in his memories. It wasn't healthy to dwell on the past too much, especially for Korotsuki. It seemed, though, that his chance to recollect today was, for better or worse, interrupted by a small scene happening at the gates. Two young boys, one younger than the other. In fact, Koro knew the youngest one: it was Yaban Hito, the reckless kid from his class a few days ago. He was the one who had gone all gung-ho on Koro, trying to prove his abilities in combat. What was he up to this time? He heard something about contracts and strength. He didn't really think he could just leave and search for a mythical creature on his own, did he? As Koro approached the scene, he called out to the two young boys, making his presence known. "Hito, what are you doing now? Didn't I just teach you to pick your fights more carefully?" As he approached the two of them, they would slowly be able to make out his appearance better. His white hair was straight and short, and did nothing to cover the small scar that ran down the man's left cheek. His eyes were a piercing gray, matching the metallic silver orbs that formed his snake-bite piercing below his lower lip. An unbuttoned beige coat covered his upper torso, covering his plain black shirt. Over his dark pants he wore a single belt pouch, and instead of the standard shinobi sandals he wore thick black boots. He didn't seem too dangerous, but looks can be deceiving. He approached the two of them, addressing the older boy as he did. "What seems to be the issue here? I am this child's teacher at the Academy, and I would like to know what he thinks he's doing here at the gates unsupervised." His tone was not without sting, and his words were obviously indirectly intended for Hito. The boy should have been back at the Academy, training.

And then, of course, there was the issue of the man who waited in silence, observing them. Yes, he knew he was there. Detecting and recognizing a hidden enemy was one of the skills you pick up as an ex-ANBU. Koro hadn't discarded his mask that long ago. He didn't say anything, nor did he motion to him, but he would be keeping his eye on the man. If anything funny were to happen, he'd rather it be taken care of another time. He didn't dwell on it too long, and instead turned his attention back to the situation at hand. If what he'd heard was right, then there might be an interesting situation at hand.

Observing the individuals, The eldest boy seemed to kick things up a notch. His attitude became serious as he quickly pent the child against the back wall of the village gates. Junko eyes quickly pierced in at the situation, analyzing everything completely. Yes, the boy was wrong, but he was still a child none the less. A naive child at that. "Ugh, I might have to brake this up." Junko thought with a sigh as he listened In on the convo, hearing bits and pieces.

"Every shinobi to have ever grace this village with their lives and trust have come through that academy. It is not a place for weaklings neither is it somewhere you can just belittle as if those classes which give you the basic knowledge of what lies ahead in the shinobi world serve as educational tools. "Well well, someone has a good head on their shoulders." Junko thought with a smile, watching as the Genin schooled the young academy student. Still Observing, Junko watched as the Genin pulled out his unique weapon, rotating it with ease. "Nice!" Junko thought as he took a puff of his cigarette.

"Someone's approaching."

"Yeah, I know."

Blowing smoke into the air, Junko eyes were already set on the new comer. He seemed different, in mind, and in body. "He's a higher level shinobi. Probably a Jounin." Junko thought analyzing the white haired individual.

"Hito, what are you doing now? Didn't I just teach you to pick your fights more carefully?"
"What seems to be the issue here? I am this child's teacher at the Academy, and I would like to know what he thinks he's doing here at the gates unsupervised."

Listening to the name once more, it seemed to play over in Junkos head like a scratched record repeating one verse. "Hito.... Hito.." Junko thought scratching his head.

"Sounds familiar?"

"Very, but from where?"

"I don't know.."

"I figured. You're never no help."

"We'll see the next time you need some chakra."

"Shhh, you're ruining my thinking."

Snapping his fingers, the name had finally clicked. "Hito, you are a one of a kind student I must say." Junko said with a smirk shaking his head. Standing to his feet, Junko moved in the blink of an eye using his seikon abilities. Releasing a miniature amount of his red aura, Junko bent reality to his liking as he seemingly vanished, reappearing a few steps behind the white haired swordsmen. "I've found the student rumored at the hospital. The academy student that took on my sensei's medical class with ease and had an interest in the Anbu corporation." Junko said approaching the group. "Passed the class and now downing academics all together." Junko said outing his cigarette while exhaling his last bit of smoke. Hito was the center of attention, the spot light was all on him.

Grinned as he was pinned the the wall, the his scar twisting to match the grin. He listened to the others words about the academy and what he thought about it. Hito mustered a "heh" before hearing his instructor approaching and calling out to them both, as well as the other new arrival. "We're having a little fun, sensei." He chuckled, slapping the others hand off of him. To the other shinobi, he'd reply "I am Hito, yes. Class at the hospital? You must mean the basic class with daisuke." He thought back to that class and what he had done. "It was an alright class. Easy." To the complement for downing other academy students, he simply smiled, his bloodlust showing in his eyes.

[legend="Seems someone is pretty damn popular"]
Well Hito was quite the upstart at the very least, having drawn the attention of multiple people whom all had some type of interaction with him in the past. Crossing his arms over his chest, Arashi would groan slightly expressing a type of mental exhaustion of the situation while his eyes momentarily diverted to the passing clouds above. This wasn't a troublesome situation as much as it was something he'd wish simply didn't require so much interaction but in shrugging his shoulders he looked at the bright side. At least this way he could waste more time of his gate duty and be just that quicker to ending his shift. Arashi's jaws would clench around his candy sucker, tightening his cheeks hold on the candy treat while observing what was being said and everyone's demeanor.

From what was said it would seem that Hito was quite the personality con-artist, a kid who downplayed the academy so much yet found the conviction to attend the same classes he belittled. Though the two older males also reaffirmed the notion that Hito himself was simply strange, a statement that Arashi took to mean the boy showed some promise albeit had his own misguided ideals. At least they were misguided in Arashi's eyes but as he was raised to understand. every man's own aspirations are just that. Whatever the case was or may have been the fact still remained that the boy was here to leave the village in search of a contract, something that was not going to be allowed. It was not personal at all but simply protocol and regulation as even Arashi himself did not have the sufficient rank to up and leave the village without proper supervision. It was just the way the village worked to ensure it's young did not go out into the world only to never come back.

"Hito here approached the gates in order to gain exit to....expand his strength."

Arashi did not say what Hito had told him he wanted to leave for, his reasoning being that he didn't find expressing someone elses goals was not his place. Scratching the back of his head he would sigh once again...

"Though protocol dictates he cannot leave the village unsupervised either way. You do have an interesting student though, the kid has latent potential and drive.....though i'd suggest taking him to get his blade reforged. Yanno...."
[/legend]

It didn't take long at all for the man who had been hiding to show himself. At least now Koro wouldn't have to pretend like the man wasn't there, which would have been rather annoying. It was quite arguable, though, that his appearance may have been more annoying than the silver haired man had anticipated. Within the first few breaths of speaking, the newcomer began to sing praises of the little demon child, going on and on about how wonderful and skilled he must have been to have so easily passed his classes like that. Koro had to use every iota of his willpower to not roll his eyes in disgust at this scene. It didn't help that the other boy chimed in as well, singing praises as to how skilled of a student he had on his hands. Koro let out a soft chuckle. "The kid still has a lot to learn. Let's not pump his ego any further, please. It's already bigger than an Akimichi's appetite—no reason to engorge it to the point of bursting." Turning to the newcomer who had just approached, and then realizing that he needed to address both of these gentlemen with his next question, Koro's voice turned inquisitive. "I realized I don't know either of your names, and would prefer not to refer to you two as 'you'. Protocol dictates I introduce myself first, so you may both call me Korotsuki. Pleased to meet you." No he wasn't. He didn't care. Still, civility and public relations were two big things thought to him as an ANBU. They were rather useful skills, in all honesty. It seemed that, according to the newcomer's words, that his student had an interest in the ANBU. How ironic that his student could be interested in such a thing. It would suit him, mused the teacher, but perhaps a little too well? Only time would tell.

There was something that caught the man's attention, though. The other boy with the white hair had said that Hito was trying to leave the village in search of strength. What was that about? Curious, the man's eyes shifted over to his maniacal little student in search of answers to his questions. "You said outside the village? How interesting. Tell me, what could an Academy Student like yourself possibly think was out there for you? Even if you did find something, how would you possibly consider utilizing it? You're not even strong enough to hold your own against me, let alone whatever is out there waiting for you." This kid was nuts if he thought he could just waltz out of the village in search of power. He'd heard of dozens of cases of Genin, and sometimes even Chuunin, getting lost, attacked, frozen, or otherwise injured out in the wilderness of Lighting Country. What made this kid think he was better than all of them? It was one thing to throw around empty words. It was quite another to have something to back them up.

With those words, Junko raised a brow. It was obvious his brief statement was mistaken. He hadn't given the student any praise, but only stated facts. It was true, Hito was one of a kind student, Just like many students of kumogakure. It was true, Hito did In fact pass a class in ease, and was talked about in the hospital. "Maybe he wasn't listening. Or, he heard what he wanted to hear." Junko thought looking at the silvered haired guy and nodding to agree with the swordsmen.

"Hmmm.."

"What's up?"

"It's something about this guy."

"What?"

"well, Nothing. Maybe it's just me."

"He seems off?"

"Yeah, he seems cool, but he gives me an abnormal vibe for some reason."

"Welp, just keep watch. Nothing more you can do."

"Yeah."

"I realized I don't know either of your names, and would prefer not to refer to you two as 'you'. Protocol dictates I introduce myself first, so you may both call me Korotsuki. Pleased to meet you."

"call me Junko and Like wise." Junko said with a nod.

"You said outside the village? How interesting. Tell me, what could an Academy Student like yourself possibly think was out there for you? Even if you did find something, how would you possibly consider utilizing it? You're not even strong enough to hold your own against me, let alone whatever is out there waiting for you."

"Hmm, looks like he needs a tour guide. Or perhaps an experienced teacher of some sort to show him the ropes outside the village. " Junko said looking at korotsuki with a half smirk. Thinking back, Junko remembered when he was around hitos age. leaving the village with Daisuke was one of the most life changing experiences of his life. It made him who he was today. "Just an idea." Junko said with a shrug.

Hito took a deep breath and turned to face the gate. "I don't need a tour guide.. I need to roam, back where I belong. Out there is my home, before I came into the village. Keeping me here is like keeping one in a prison until their sentence is over." With that, he headed back to the village, back to wait on his Genin Exams. He would come back at a later time to do what he wished, and would hold it until then, he thought to himself. Heh, what the hell. Maybe i'll just go anyways... He thought after a second. On that decision, he turned and went to his teacher, and got face to shoulder with him, placing a hand on his shoulder, and whispering to him softly. "Hey, take me out later, and give me a look around." With that, he went back to a rock by the gate and sat down, waiting to get to really know everyone who had shown up to his location.

"Prison, huh? And who said you have to stay here?" That was a bit uncharacteristic of a teacher, but whatever. The kid wanted to go out? Fine, let him. He could make decisions for himself. One such decision he could make was to ask Koro a favor, which seemed like it was a bit of an odd request. "We'll see." Koro whispered right back to the young kid. With that, Koro began to walk away. He'd seen what he needed, and that was that. He waved a hand back as he called back to them. "Follow your own path, Hito. Do what you think needs to be done." And like that he was gone, continuing on the stroll he'd been set on before.

Hito got up, brushed himself off, and made to leave the area. He didn't look back as he had made up his mind, and as he watched his teacher walk back to the village to go about his own business. He'd go about his destiny, and go about the ways of making that certain plot of his life happen.

Nodding at the two leavings, Junko pager vibrated. "Ah, brake over already?" Junko thought looking at his watch. "Hmm, until next time." Junko said with a wave of his own. His image slowly faded, as if in thin air using his godly speed. Making his way back to the hospital, Junko yawned. "Can't wait until this day is over." Junko said nonchalantly.
