New Village/Missing: Leaf
New BL/CA: Uchiha
Custom Class: N/A
Main Branch/ANBU/Med-Nin: N/A
IC Rank: Academy Student
Age: 12
Gender: Male
Sex: Male
Physical Description:
At 157cm and 48kg, Kouhei is fairly average in physical build. His skin is rather pale, lacking any major flaws other than the occasional birthmark or minor training scar. His dark brown hair hangs down to around shoulder-height and is usually tied in a small tail in the nape of his neck. His eyes are jade-green and narrow, framed with pencil-thin but expressive eyebrows.
Clothes-wise, Kouhei prefers muted colors that don't stand out too much. He tends to wear long-sleeved shirts with high necklines that allow freedom of movement while still providing insulation against the cold. His choice of clothing tends to be fairly traditional, usually wearing outfits including hanten, samue or haori depending on the weather. Of course, since they're rather impractical for shinobi, he avoids full-length traditional robes like the kimono. His clothes display the symbol of the Uchiha without exception, either on the back of his coats or the long-sleeved shirts underneath.
Kouhei's earlobes are pierced. His preferred earrings are a pair of simple jet studs set in steel.
Mental Description:
Kouhei tends to be a very serious young man. He doesn’t laugh or smile much, and generally berates others if they fool around in situations he considers important. It’s not that he doesn’t have a sense of humor, nor is he particularly mean. As someone whose career as a shinobi is central to his whole life, he simply feels it’s inappropriate to indulge in frivolous behavior.
Kouhei still isn’t particularly open in purely private, casual environments, but that seriousness fades a bit. He’s not likely to crack jokes himself, but he will smile at the antics of others or make lighthearted, often somewhat sarcastic remarks. In the wake of his sister’s demise, joy simply does not come easy to him.
As mentioned, Kouhei is keenly focused on his studies and future career. He’s a dedicated hard worker who has been raised by his family to see a shinobi’s duties as near-sacred. His devotion extends to the village as an idea moreso than its people. At the same time, there’s that small voice in the back of his mind that resents the village and his duty to it, the responsibilities and risks that took his sister from him. He considers these to be invasive thoughts, and does his best to pay them no mind.
On a more personal level, Kouhei greatly values his family, even Uchiha he’s only distantly related to. The loss of his sister hit him hard, and the risks his clan takes on their missions are a source of anxiety for him.
History/Bloodline Application:
Kouhei’s early life was average for an Uchiha. He was raised in the affluence of the clan, an Uchiha by blood and heritage. Although neither of his parents were “pure” Uchiha, both could trace their ancestry back to the clan before the Fall of the Leaf, and both unlocked the power of the Sharingan in their lives. Kouhei also had an older sister, Uchiha Momoka. Due to health issues his mother suffered in the wake of Momoka’s birth, Kouhei was conceived almost a decade after his sister. Despite this age gap, the two were very close.
This changed when Kouhei was ten years old. His sister was an accomplished shinobi for the village by then. While out on a mission, her squad was ambushed. Momoka held off the attackers while the rest of her squad fled. Her death was never confirmed, and she was officially registered as MIA, but all assumed she had died.
On the day the news reached his home, Kouhei first awakened the Sharingan. The strain on his underdeveloped chakra system was heavy enough that it caused him to pass out. He found himself unable to call on it again in the years following his sister’s passing. Inspection by an Uchiha mednin determined it was a subconscious block, similar to the instinct of self-preservation which prevents a person from biting off their own tongue or breaking their hand with a punch. He was expected to gain normal control over the doujutsu once his training in the use of chakra advanced.
His sister’s passing was what changed Kouhei and gave him the dour, guarded personality he has now. His sister was his best friend, and losing her cost him much of the joy he had in life. Duty and devotion carried him from then on, a grim mindset for someone so young. This dedication carried him through the Academy, and before long his genin exam was on the horizon.
