Name/ Username: Nakamura Kana
Age: 12
Rank OOC/IC: A/Genin
Bloodline/Kinjutsu: Uchiha/Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan
Physical Description: Kana can mostly be described as a rather ordinary twelve-year-old girl. With shoulder length dark black hair that bangs about the side of her face and head. She has light skin compared to most of the populace within the village, but foreigners might still consider her tan. Built small and lithe she stands at four feet nine inches and weighs only ninety-two pounds with little fat or muscle. Due to the rough weather conditions she finds herself most comfortable in garb that suits the occasion and typically finds herself in her ninja attire. At a first glance though, none of this would be what grabbed attention. Most all will see is the glowing red and black flickering of her birthright staring at them. Constant swirling orbs that seemed to focus and meet your gaze no matter where you stood or moved.
Mental Description: Kana is mostly shy and afraid of the world around her. Afraid to hurt and be hurt. An outcast amongst her piers she has never truly garnered the social skills to properly interact with the world around her. Loneliness, having no-one around her understand the way she feels drives this young girl to the bottom of an endless black hole with the world sinking farther and farther with every passing moment. A depression that most could not fathom, let alone in a child so young. A tortured mind running wild with the constants thoughts of how the world must perceive her. A monster or a freak is all anyone would see when they looked upon her.
History/Uchiha & Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan Application: The story of Nakamura Kana, much like the story of most, begins with her parents. Nakamura Muno, her father was a prominent and affluent Aburame or about as affluent as someone could be during the times underground. Her mother, Uchiha Nomina, was a powerful and wise shinobi as well. With her study she gathered many of the secrets of her heritage and bloodline. Everything in their life was going about as good as things could. The time for reemergence was coming for their village. It was the only thing people in the village could talk about. Hopes and dreams of prosperity once again were on the horizon. Nomina was even pregnant! Both parents were so overjoyed at the news of their child to come. Excitement that only a parent could know. There were whisperers who believed it would be a girl and Nomina could not be more joyous. In her family line it was the girls who inherited the strongest of their genetic abilities. Muno was thrilled at the news simply knowing how happy it made his wonderful wife. He would train the child to be a hard-tough warrior no matter what!
The time had come for the reemergence and it was not long before political turmoil turned into full on civil war. The atmosphere dictated what must be done. Nomina was to remain in the safety of the village while her husband run off to wage war and attempt to defend the life they cherished so dearly. Months went by and there was no word of her husband or the progress of the war. She was due to give birth any day now at this point and the pain she was enduring was unbearable. Her labor began but did not end quickly. Delirious is the only word that could describe how she felt after hours in labor. The pain was unbearable, but she fought through, she had to fight to bring her daughter into this world. As she felt her very world collapsing was when she heard the cries and felt an enormous relief and the strain was lifted. Reaching to grab for her child Nomina was not long for this world and when she slept that night… she would not awake.
The couple had friends who were there to witness the birth and now the tragedy. In the hours of her labor she shouted things at them. Most would consider it nonsense but looking back it seemed as if she had true purpose in what she spoke. It is like she knew what may happen and was preparing for it in the moment. The friends would respect and follow the wishes of their dying friend. They would take the child into their home and raise her as their own and follow a very specific set of instructions that seemed almost horrible. The dying wish of a mother was that her daughter could be granted the vision in life she never had. Her body was to be taken and her eyes to be removed and placed within Kana when she was old enough to survive such a surgery.
The young ninja was now born into this world kicking, screaming, and already taking life with nothing but her waking breath. The trauma of this experience would have lasting repercussions, but that’s for a time when she can process what truly just happened and the fate she must now endure. Brought into a good home for the beginning of her life Kana was raised proper and taken care of. She did not want for much and as far as children go was rather well behaved. While good people the friends secretly hoped that Muno would return soon to retrieve his daughter and be witness to the awful tragedy that transpired. Month by month that day never came and eventually word would reach them that the girl’s father would not be returning. He was lost in battle. Further tragedy to influence Kana’s future dark fate.
When she came of age, the surgery her mother wished would take place and forever alter how not only Kana perceived the world but also how others perceived her. She grew up taking ordinary classes and exceled in every subject. She was typically one of the most athletic kids in her class. Despite all that, she was never chosen for any team activities and struggled to even make a single friend. No one wanted to hang out with the freak or give her an opportunity. In turn, she never truly developed the communication skills to break down those walls for herself. Years went by, and she was recruited into training to be a Kunoichi. It was the first time she felt accepted and wanted in her life, and she wasn’t sure why they would ever dream of picking her. For the first time she had excitement in her life instead of the existential dread that filled her life knowing that her parents were gone, she had no proper path to follow. Now she had a path! Despite her excitement, it turns out nothing would truly change. The children around her did not change their attitudes and nor had she magically developed skills to overcome that. As such, despite her being one of the most gifted students’ trainers had ever seen they would only graduate her to the rank of Genin. A lot of social and emotional maturing would need to be done before she could be more than a student.
At this point she had not fully grasped or understood any of her potential power. She had not truly unlocked the power of her heritage and the gifts her mother had given her. Dread is all she felt as the sense of hopelessness was all that crept in. Without her parents she would never fully realize any of her abilities. She would always be only one thing, and that was the freak. A monster to those around her. This is where letdown of the first positive thing in her life turned into a spiraling circle of never-ending doubt and uncertainty. She began to dread everything, even the training and practice time she once enjoyed so much. It was a challenge to get up in the morning and find the energy to feed herself or shower. She wanted nothing more than to find a corner and lie there with nothing but her thoughts until they simply faded away. Sleep would usually be the first thing that overtook her in most instances. Sometimes though, sleep would not come. These were the days that seemed to stretch on and feel like months to her. The world constantly caving in on her, often feeling like she could not breathe.
It had all become too much for her. She felt tired. Tired of people, and how fake everything seemed. Tired of trying as hard as did just to manage her way through a single day. It all became too much and would do the unthinkable. Lying in the bathtub Kana would take a kunai and begin to drag it down across the skin. Red tears streaked her skin which caused her to press harder. A part of her knew this was it and she dug in with all her might. Though she could not., something in her was preventing her from going through with it. No… she was certain she was pushing with all her might. Managing to open tearful eyes she looked down at her arm as chakra pulsed around her arm. Energy she had never seen or known before. She would instinctively try to push back against it and the barrier would rupture forth with energy. Kana would launch herself backward like a projectile as she slammed into the wall. The chakra preventing the impact for occurring. As she hit the ground her eyes were closed. Her frustration mounted higher than ever. She could not even do this one thing right. She could do nothing right. Hopelessness, anger, sadness, and all the fury built up over the years came to a tipping point.
When she opened her eyes once more Kana now saw the world as she never did before. Everything slowed down to an absolute standstill and she could feel her chakra reverberating outward and causing the tub to shatter, the water to vaporize and everything in the immediate vicinity to be worthless debris. This was the moment that she first realized the potential her lineage had to offer. The gift that her mother had given her, and perhaps even a hope for the future to come. Sleep would find her soon.
Now with her lineage on full display to the world she thought there might be a warmer reception. Perhaps she would be able to make a friend. There would be no such luck for Kana. Not anytime soon. The spiral she continued to fall into darkened the further she dropped. The thoughts in her head were her own worst enemy. While she had caring good adoptive parents she never truly felt at home. She never felt like she had a place. Would she ever be able to locate a niche that she could call her own?
Most recently, there does seem to be a glimmer of hope for the young Uchiha. A woman had recently taken interest in her. Another Kunoichi, though the girl was much older. It was the first time someone other than her parents treated her with anything other than indifference or disgust. Perhaps they were even interested in being a friend. She learned the woman’s name is Juri and immediately clung to the first person who seemed to pay attention. To ask questions, and to care. Finding out the older girl was also a Genin seemed to reignite her interest and drive to want to focus on training. She would slowly start to remember how her parents always told her that her Mother would always be with her so long as she embraced the gifts she was given. She was ready to embrace the world, so long as she had someone to help her through it! Or would she continue to fall into the pit of darkness that has been her life thus far? There is a lot of room for growth in this young Uchiha and a lot of potential stuffed into the pint-sized package that is Nakamura Kana!
