Kenshin tried his best to blend in with the crowd. Sometimes the best way to fit in is to stand out. Kenshin had a lot of wisdom like that. Street smarts. So when he found a group of bachelors making their way down the street bar hopping, Kenshin leisurely added himself to the crew and they were far too gone to be any the wiser. They just knew that someone else was buying drinks so they were happy. Kenshin roared when they laughed and kept his eyes out for anyone who would cause any trouble. He sipped his sake delicately knowing that he could not actually drink with them. He was on duty and a shinobi who was tipsy on duty would be disciplined.

The party dispersed after Kenshin reminded that if they got any more drunk they could be arrested for public intoxication and that was no way to start a marriage. One got a little fighty but a well placed discreet punch knocked the wind from his sails All in all, pretty successful in stopping a commotion. Of course he was still on duty and found himself looking at the marketplaces, wondering what items he could find. A would be shop lifter lost his nerve when Kenshin entered a small store and quickly returned the item he had palmed. Sometimes, Kenshin was sad that his form caused some people to loose the fight from them. It made life boring sometimes. But better not fighting inside a shop. Collateral damage and all.
