Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kamaru found himself in the Barracks of the Spartan Quarter and looking at the scene of the last ‘prank’ as it was stated and at the dried blood on the ground. Fortunately someone had been close by to attend to the victim and he hadn’t died, he was still unconscious supposedly having just gone through what was described as what Kamaru thought of as a blood transfusion. Some seemed against it thinking it wasn’t normal and in that they were right. Having someone’s elese’s blood in your body wasn’t really normal if you weren’t familiar with modern medicine, even then it still was something foreign to your body. The fact the blood type donors were from Leaf though didn’t helped while it was proving difficult to get people to adjust to the idea with some form of a cultural barrier. Kamaru thought the face explaining the man was going to possibly die had the major key point into why it should have been done. Few wanted an Iwa ninja to die over the argument that didn’t mean they liked the idea.

Eight victims including the recent one which was being classified as a possible homicide had been involved or accosted by the prankster. In the previous cases the people were just found unconscious in various areas of the Barracks ‘sleeping’ with an odd orange powder or residue on them. The substance had been tested as a poison or something to knock people out and proved to just be remains of burning something. An unknown assailant and weapon or device use made things seem odder or more complicated to figure out, talking to the other victims proved just as unsettling. Interviews with the other victims didn’t come around until after this incident, the others hadn’t reported it figuring it was just a prank dismissing it to the most extent. In each case only one or two people noticed them after the incident where they were knocked out, none had seen the attacker beforehand and the isolated incidents not being common knowledge or talked about hadn’t come up sooner due to no one saying anything. With the thought of someone being able to kill shinobi undetected though flag a lot of peoples attentions, especially if one did it within the confines of a ninja barracks.

Kamaru stood next to the civilian Police detective wondering why he was here, supposedly he had a cold case situation where someone had reported a shinobi they found in Maruishi on a patrol through the streets unconscious it seemed, he had no idea why, who, or how it happened. But he had the oldest and probably first occurrence of this odd assault. It was around the time of the Leaf City refugees coming to the village. One would think it was a Leaf City shinobi if it wasn’t for the fact seven of the now nine victims were from Leaf, the fact some were not made Kamaru wonder if they were singling out people trying to throw off their choice or either their targets were either from Stone, the others were convenience. There was also the option it was completely random as well. Kamaru sighed wondering if he could really figure out the logic of a crazy person.

The police detective asked Kamaru what he thought they should do and Kamaru gave him a blunt and honest answer, ”Until we have some leads I don’t think we do anything. I’ll let you know if something comes up.” Kamaru admitted before shrugging and walking off. The detective did comment walking away about the shit job Kamaru seemed to want to do.
Meanwhile a man watched outside smirking. Typical to have the police on an investigation at the first sign of trouble when a body was involved, although the chatter seemed to suggest this wasn’t the first, it was the first violent on. He heard word of one of the victims had almost been killed and that they were all shinobi. From the looks of it the investigation would soon be wrapping up here. In the slience that followed the man silently fumed, it was crap.

Sitting in the room Kamaru thanked a ninja that was going to be working the case with him giving him orders on ‘how the case was being dropped’. After he left he turned to one of the room’s residence.
”Thank you for letting me stay here for a little while” Kamaru commented already looking over the map of the area and marking off what they already knew. The room occupant the roommate of the shinobi in the hospital said it was no problem it seemed but he could tell by response Kamaru was already not really paying attention. From the reports someone was usually knocked out close to the outer ares of the barrack either by a door or window in all cases it seemed, the stairwell was an exception it seemed. Reports from the previous victims described the situation as turning and feeling suddenly overcome by disorientation before falling over. They’d wake up slightly groggy later but for the most part no worse for wear besides loosing several hours. As a note was slide under the door Kamaru got up and retrieved it and nodded.

”Well it looks like we’re looking for someone who doesn’t live in the barracks… That kinda just narrows it down to the rest of the village and anyone from Maruishi with access to the area.” Kamaru stated aloud, he didn’t seem happy about it, probably since by narrowing down the building occupants to zero it meant anyone outside the area could be a possible suspect. The ninjas working with Kamaru thought had been pretty quick and through though it seemed, they’d canvased everyone in the building already. No one had noticed any notable changes in people’s behavior for the most part, there were some cultural difference gaps between the newer shinobi from Leaf but other than that most seem to get along or keep to their own devices.

Looking at the building the man felt sick to his stomach, these ninja were useless it seemed. No one had figured it out yet, this was probably why he was never excepted into the academy, they were all a bunch of brainless idiots. Granted he applied at the age of twenty so that might have had something to do with it but they could have made an exception. Last time he hadn’t expected to see someone coming out of the stairwell and he had panicked. But maybe this was what he needed to do so they could see his genius. He didn’t need their training or their special bloodlines that some of the ninja had. He’d show them all who was more powerful as he made his way into the building. He’s show them all what a monster was that they’d name the shinobi killer. An immasiated face snarled his teeth gnashing down as he made his way to a side entrance. Locked. His face scrunched up but it did make sense, if someone was going around killing people in the barracks it would make sense to lock all the doors. He noticed from the front there seemed to be guards. He cursed silently and tried other entrances finding each locked. He found one with a notice that it was a crime scene and he realized where he was. The scene of his first attempted murder, even if it was accidental, He held his breath as he tried the knob and it slowly popped open. Idiots. He smiled fiendishly as he skulked up to the building. Walking up the stairs he heard someone whistling and cracked the door from the stairwell open. Some goofball ninja was meandering towards the bathroom it seemed since he was in flip flops a short robe spinning a towel with one hand and had toiletries in the other tucked into a basin. As the unsuspecting bobbed down the hallway cheerful the man didn’t know why he was getting so infuriated at first watching the man jam a toothbrush into his mouth and start humming. He didn’t have anything to kill a ninja with. He dismissed it trying to calm down he could improvise they did it, maybe he’s drown the man in the bath. He didn’t know if other people where there though so he’d have to just see as things went. Watching his new victim go around the corner he slipped out and moved down the hallway and slide around the corner.

Being suddenly enveloped in a wall of water took him by surpise and had him backing away.

”Damn… didn’t expect you to be wearing a mask too… guess using wind is out as well.” the man in the bathroom commented.

The attacker didn’t really know what to expect but he wasn’t expecting water, he had been paying the much attention he figured but he was now as his left arm leveled on the guy a flash going off. He blinked,
He had panicked and hadn’t thought or paid enough attention, the victim had flinched but was still standing. The victim was also wearing a gasmask it seemed but with mirrored tint. His device wouldn’t work. Abandoning the idea of killing someone the primal urge to fight or flight kicked in as he turned away to run, a sharp pain in his lower back slowed him.

Kamaru in his boxers and a bathrobe smirked behind his mask, He didn’t think he would have been fighting with a bathrobe belt tied to a bar of soap today. As he rushed the guy.

”You won’t be needing that I take it.” Kamaru commented his toothbrush sliding down at the man’s forearm cutting cloth straps with a sharpened toothbrush. The man panicked not having been in a fight before showed as he flailed at Kamaru his hand pouncing off a barrier suddenly in place flickering blue chakra.

The man looked down and in front of him he saw the man in the mask looking up at him, his device was gone and he was being hunted now, he couldn’t see his eyes but he was pretty sure they looked predatorial. A jolt to the stomach knocked him up into the air a ball of electrical chakra still crackling in Kamaru’s palm.

”Just for the record it’s hard to sneak up on a ninja when they’re ready so no more sucker punches!” Kamaru explained as he finished hand seals another ball of electrical chakra flashing in front of him knocking the man back through the air into a wall.

”Target down. Monitor the area for accomplices.” Kamaru said over his head set. Looking at the roommate looking at the battered man Kamaru pulled off his gas mask, ”Too much you think?” Kamaru asked closing his bathrobe with the belt again. Picking up his supplies Kamaru opted to actually try out the bath in the Barracks.
Waking up groggy a man was looking at him in dress clothes. He wasn’t familiar and seemed out of place. He felt sore and his side felt numb. He didn’t know where he was or why. He was curious why he was in an odd room .

”Glad to know you’re awake. I’d like to introduce myself and then your roommate here at the clinic. My name is Kamaru and I was sent to look into the accident where you fell. Mind you due to being knocked out you fell down some stairs and got impaled by a guard rail in the fall.” Kamaru started the victim’s hand slowly moving to their side that felt numb feeling bandages.

”We didn’t realize it was one of several incidents but the first of several cause by this man. He’s not a ninja, just a bit smarter when it comes to devices and shite when it comes to situational awareness and stealth. Anywho, you should be up and about soon, he’ll be here a bit longer. Maybe you can have a chat with him. Just don’t push him down any stairs.” Kamaru commented smiling before turning and leaning in close to the injured man, with most of his body covered in casts and bandages he shook slightly as Kamaru leaned in, ”My apologies for being a bit rough. Hopefully I won’t have to be watching you from now on. I take it that you can tell it’s clear now… don’t fuck with my people.” Kamaru said with a smile and air of politeness in his voice. The man closed his eyes and nodded just hoping the nightmare would end.

Kamaru walked outside and sighed, the attacker was a 34 year old native to the Earth Country, he wasn’t the most attractive of guys and he was skinny to an unhealthy degree. From the hundreds if not thousands of news clippings in his apartment on Leaf City and Konoha Corporation related to technology and several rejection letters for requests for designs on weapons or equipment talked about in articles Kamaru could easily tell the guy had fixations on things. He seemed from the apartment and actions pretty dead set on doing a bit of violence and cause strife. What confused Kamaru was when the team entered the apartment supposedly they found the remains of documents in a metal contain that burst into flames when they got near. That was kind of odd and either random or a failsafe for something. Kamaru kind of wished it was random.

I gotta work on my infighting too... Kamaru thought micmicking short quick movements with one hand with an imaginary weapon absentmindedly as he left the area, he was a little rusty.
