Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Appearance:
Black Hair, Athletic (surprisingly), Slim
Although at first glance, conclusions can be drawn about Sakura. More often than not, she is prejudged by her dark and gloomy appearance. It’s hard not to. Her arms are always crossed to create a natural barrier between her and the world. The quadruple mixture of a dismissive demeanor, austere gaze, dismal attire, and woeful aura, makes most assume that she was the grinch that stole run rise. This would only be a quarter of the truth as Sakura is like an onion. Although an onion could make you cry, it has deeper layers if you cared to peel through it. For example, Sakura doesn’t look it, but she is extremely athletic. Aside from training to be a shinobi, she trains her mind and body in tandem during her free time. One of her favorite ways to train is to read while preforming flutter kicks in the lake to stay afloat. She is also perverted by its actual definition rather than the meaning in which you’d personally give the word. On the surface however, Sakura is seen with pigtails. She considers it to be a combination of practical, stylish, and sensible. She is thin and pale in complexion. She only wears dark colored clothing too. Often, she wears long sleeves, a long dress, and boots.

Mentality: Smart, witty, vengeful
Sakura is an Architect INTJ personality type. Interestingly, she is a unique mixture of being both a visionary and a realist. With the rare ability to remain focused for long periods of time, Sakura is able to come up with a carefully thought-out plan and then execute it accordingly. Sakura is intelligent and tends to question the world around her. Typically, she makes her own decisions about what makes logical sense rather than following or being led like a sheep. Intellectual and original, Sakura enjoys talking about abstract concepts. She has a broad knowledge base and is a natural problem-solver. When communicating, Sakura prefers to be direct and likes to get straight to the point. Sakura throws herself passionately into everything she does. She loves a challenge and always has a clear plan to reach her goals, which she consistently follows through on. Needless to say, Sakura is calculated. It’s easy to assume that she is emotionless, that she lacks empathy and sympathy, however, this is untrue. Sakura masks it very well, but she has a huge heart for those close to her. Although not obvious by her unchanging demeanor, facial expression, and attitude, it is most evident by her overprotective nature. She goes out of her way to provide solutions for others and easily befriends social outcast like herself. She is also very vindictive to those who wrong her or her friends. For example, taking the first opportunity to seek vengeance on the class bully who wronged her when she was assigned as his teammate during the genin exams. This resulted in the failure of her genin exam, although, the humorous revenge was worth it.

-Sakura
“Vengeance. It comes at a cost… but always worth the price.”

History PART I - THE RABBIT HOLE

IMG_1017.jpeg
Sakura is a young member of the Orochi clan that resides in Kumogakure. Unlike the major clans in the village, the Orochi clan is very small and less known. Consequently, expectations of excellence are placed on the youngest members of the clan and their duty to bring renown and prestige to the clan's name. While the majority of young clan members are unburdened by this pressure, Sakura takes this to heart. As a student, Sakura worked hard and grasped complex concepts much easier than her peers. Despite this, Sakura continues to have a hard time. Her aptitude should have promised a very bright future; however, Sakura has always had issues with socialization compared to others her age. Her unique personality and outward appearance make her a prime target for bullying. This, however, is a perceptually grave error on the bully’s part. You see, despite the irony of her name, Sakura is no cherry blossom. She is more like a scorpion who always gets the last sting. As a result, Sakura failed her genin exam and brought shame to her family name. The exam was largely based on teamwork and so the assessment was mainly focused on an participant's ability to work together. Assigned to the team of boys who wronged her presented the perfect opportunity for vengeance. Never mind the fact that she had altered the team placements months in advance, that the events taken were premeditated and sadistic in nature. Before they expelled her, they simply wanted to know something puzzling. Why risk expulsion during the genin exams? She simply replied, “It’s not enough to simply hurt them in the name of vengeance. They needed to be shamed during their big day. In front of friends, family, and the family pet. A service was done today. You now have humble shinobi graduates instead of worthless dogs.” Ready to quit and except her fate as a failed kunochi, Sakura accidentally became a candidate for a different type of exam when she stumbled upon a group of students wearing mask that same night. In truth, she was only leaving the school grounds when she noticed someone sneaking into the nearby forest. Being the curious stalker that she is, she followed him. Who she followed is still unknown to her till this day. Although, she did not find the boy, she found a party of masked kids her age. When one of the members offered her a mask, she wouldn't hesitate to accept as if fate had guided her hand. Perhaps it was her inability to ration caution over curiosities. Whichever the case, the donning of the mask would set in motion the very true events of loss, love, and danger...

History PART II - THE WHITE RABBIT
IMG_0974.png
Donning the mask brought about a sense of comfort. Concealing her identity in such a way, masking herself in complete uniformity with the others made it as though they were one in the same. No one was better or worse. No upper class or tiers, simply faceless individuals void of judgmental expressions. For a moment, she'd thought she'd never take it off. However, she hadn't yet realized the weight of her decision to don the mask. What it represented and the arduous road ahead. She hadn't the slightest clue why there were students in plain white mask or the meaning of it. Or the fact that donning the mask had initiated a life altering event. There were mere moments between the time the mask rested upon her face and the time the area was engulfed by a poof of white smoke. The small crowd of students in plain white mask would nearly have a heart attack if their hearts weren't completely paused in anticipation to what would emerge from the dissipating clouds. One black boot before the other, a tall man of stature, with white hair, a black mask that concealed the lower half of his face. He would be the first to step from the smoke. Although they wore full mask, others dressed in black with black boots, similarly, stepped from the cloud of smoke. It was undeniable. These men were the elite Kumo ANBU Black Ops. Shika's heart would skip several beats, but not from anxiety. No, this was excitement. What had she stumbled upon? Chatter would start to murmur about the students before the white-haired man clapped his hands to silence them. "Listen up. I will only explain things once. My name is Inaba, the White Rabbit. I will be your proctor. If you are here, then you are where you're meant to be. As potential recruits, you are under my jurisdiction. And here, we do things a little differently. By design, not all of you will make it. By design, some of you will die. If that be the case, it's the best you could have ever hoped for, and it would mean you didn't completely waste the nation's air you breath. Work as a team, don't be a piece of shit and you'll get through just fine. From this point on, you are being evaluated for potential initiation. Now, we are going to play a little game." Just then a masked ANBU would hand a deck of cards to Inaba. He'd shuffle the deck before drawing a card and revealing it to the students. It was a seven of Hearts. He seemed uneasy about the results but would continue, "The number I have drawn is the seven of hearts! It represents the difficulty of the game... the suit, however, represents the type of game. You all will participate in a level seven game of Hearts. A game, that plays on the hearts of the players... The rules are simple. We will start once everyone has paired up in groups of three. There are nine of you so make it quick" Naturally, Sakura stood there unwaveringly so. The others seemed to at least know each other. Quickly pairing up with their favorite friend and chattering words of encouragement. And so, Sakura stood alone with her arms folded against her chest. That was, until a boy wondered over in his white mask. "Hey! We’re a member short, why not join our team. My name is..." He was abruptly interrupted by Inaba who continued forward with the rules. Introductions would have to wait. Seeing as he would not be repeating himself, the group listened intently. The Anbu weaved hand seals before each slamming their palms into the grass. Strange symbols emerged from the epicenter of their palms before it was engulfed by a poof of smoke. Each would remove from the cloud, a strange, hexed box with color marked pins sticking out from the sides. A box was presented and placed at the foot of each team. "This game is called, Jack in the Box. The rules are simple. Each team receives a Box. Notice that the box contains safety pins that are color coded. The colors represent that number of points each pin is worth. Blue pins are worth 10 points, Yellow 25, Green 30, and Red 100. When the game is over, the one with the least amount of points on each individual team loses and will turn in their mask... if able. Everyone else will have earned their mask and will be official Anbu in Training. Now for the logistics, each team member will take turns pulling a pin. If you pull a pin and the number of points remaining falls on an odd number 3 times, the box will explode, and you will die. If you take longer than 30 seconds to pull a pin after the first pin was pulled, the box will explode, and you will die. The game is over for that team, when the total number of pin points remaining equal 100 exactly. If the total remaining pin points fall below 100, the entire team fails and the game is over for that team. Note that the total points equal 295. There are 3 blue pins, 3 yellow, 3 green, and only 1 red pin. Attempting to disable the box or harming a team member will result in an immediate disqualification. Being disqualified results in a fate worse than death. Everything else goes. Each of you will draw from this deck of cards. The highest suit chooses their pin first. This game was designed to test your heart and to reveal to us, who you truly are. Now draw, and let the games begin."

History PART lII - SEVEN OF HEARTS
This was intimidating which excited Sakura even more. The teams were escorted away from each other. Guided by different Anbu members. Inaba, decided to stick with her group. There were a lot of rules and yet Sakura had no issue keeping up. She looked to her teammates and wondered if she could even call them that. Still, this was the first time anyone had ever approached her and asked if she would join their team. Even if she was last picked and the only option, it felt good to be approached and welcomed. The heartwarming would have to wait. There was the task at hand after all. Sakura starred intensely at the box and color-coded pins. Something off about this game. The Anbu emphasized teamwork, had them pair together, but gave them an assignment to work against one another. If played correctly, the ones with the lowest scores on the team would fail the exam. This meant that only one member from each team could pass. What's worse, the game had a built-in fail safe for the losers. They were given the option to sabotage their team and ruin the would-be winner. Was that the point of this game? Were they really testing the hearts of the participants or was this game some cynical joke to prove that no man was worthy. To prove that when the chips were down, trusted teammates would eat each other to survive or even drag each other down with them. Sakura strategically stood back as the others drew their cards. A two of clubs and a queen of diamonds. Finally, it was her turn. She maintained intense eye contact with Inaba as she placed her hand over the deck. With a straight face, Sakura drew her card and showed it to the group without looking, "No way! The Ace of Shades!? How lucky." Sakura maintained composer. She had drawn the highest card in the deck. With the highest card, she would be the one to pull the pin first. Her eyes narrowed onto the red pin. With the red pin, victory was all but assured. The red pin was worth the highest amount of points. It would put her in the lead and the others would have no chance at catching up. Shika immediately reached for the red pin but stopped short. Something wasn't right about this. "Seven of hearts, a game that plays on the hearts of the participants... Work as a team, don't be a piece of shit and you'll get through just fine." Something was off here. Sakura pulled back her hand causing Inaba's eyes to widen. Her teammates, bore puzzled looks from behind their masks. Sakura started to understand something about the seven of hearts. They weren't a team and so, they would have no compassion for one another. This game, it truly played on one's heart and one's willingness to do anything to win. The mask they all wore only helped to keep them disconnected and unempathetic to one another. But that's not how a teammate feels toward his companions. Sakura would pull back her mask and reveal her face to her teammates. "My name is Sakura, Orochi Sakura of the Orichi clan. Thank you, for inviting me to your team. I failed my genin exam this morning. It was worth it to teach some little shits a lesson." The other teammates looked at each other before removing their masks as well. Introductions were made as Sakura assured them that they had plenty of time to get to know one another as the countdown only started once the first pin was pulled. But they would have to pull eventually. Inaba remained silent and simply observed as the group talked. They shared a laugh at Sakura's expense. Although, Sakura didn't so much as crack a smile, she too found it humorous. They'd go on talking about this and that. Eventually, the truly important subject was inevitably addressed. Which pin would Sakura pull first. She'd stare at the box and ponder the words, "Work as a team, don't be a piece of shit and you'll get through just fine." This sentenced echoed in her brain uncontrollably. She didn't know why out of everything that was said. This just seemed important. Suddenly it dawned on her. "Guys, I think I understand. If you can trust me, I can trust you. Let's work as a team, don't be a piece of shit, and we'll get through this just fine..."

History PART IV - SAKURA IN BOARDERLAND
Sakura took a branch and started etching a chart in the dirt as her team gathered and listened, "No matter what, nobody pulls the red pin. There are 3 blue pin, 3 yellow, 3 green, and only 1 red pin. Blue pins are worth 10 points, Yellow 25, Green 30, and Red 100. 30 points worth of blue pins, 75 points worth of yellow, and 90 points worth of green. If you sum up these points, you get a total of 195 points in total. If we work as a team, play our cards right, we can share all 195 points amongst the three of us. We'd all have 65 points each. And with an even number of points, the game will end with 100 points left on the box. Here is how we do it without causing the box to explode." The team agreed and decided to trust one another. This resulted in the chart below.
TeamRound 1Round 2Round 3Total
Sakura295 -25= 270230-30= 200165-10= 15565
NPC 1270 -30= 240200-10= 190155-25= 13065
NPC 2240-10= 230190-25= 165130-30= 10065
Inaba couldn't help but to applaud the three before him. It's been a long time since anyone has ever successfully completed a hearts game. "Impressive. Very impressive. You all have shown purity of heart today. You trusted in your team even when the stakes of life and death were at play. That is what Kumo needs right now. True unity and faith in one another. Don your mask recruits. From this day forward, you are Anbu in training. Welcome to the brotherhood. We will escort you to your new quarters and get you in processed before dawn."
Inaba would start the escort in thought before a masked comrade would whisper to him, "So white rabbit, what do you think?" He'd smile beneath his half mask before pulling a few cards from his left pocket. These cards were removed prior to showing the students the deck. It was for their safety as these cards carried a game not meant for recruits. Of these removed cards, the Ace of Spades shuffled toward the top. Replying in secret, the white rabbit chuckled, "A recruit who makes her own luck, I think you made the right call in failing her Genin exam and leading her here. She was your student after all, who better to assess her potential. Such an exceptional IQ, she belongs with us. Stay on the lookout for more exceptional students like this one. I'm sure the queen will be pleased. Let's hurry, I hate being late." Sakura found herself pleasantly pleased with tonight's events. She had graduated. She had brought honor to her clan's name. The friends she had made cheered her on as they made way to their destination. The graduates were led to the top of Torre Empirea at dawn. From there, they were instructed to watch the sun rise and to gaze upon the beauty and tranquility they were sworn to protect. Sakura stood up high with the others. Her expressionless face was as blank as the recruit mask she carried. With her arms folded, the sun began to rise. Its radiant light would stretch across the village. Sakura had never seen anything more beautiful in her entire life. She'd place the mask upon her face and for once she'd feel the embrace of acceptance and belonging.

[ooc: finally complete. I know its a long history. If anyone would like to use parts of my history like the anbu exam, just pm me. I'm game.]

Limbo training:

The night was always darkest before the dawn or so the saying goes. But quite literally it was the darkest at this particular night. Chio found herself in quite the training exercise. Woken up at O’dark thirty something at night in order to simulate the ever possible real world threat that’s always rising. Her clan’s motto, “Fight tonight,” was also quite literal. It meant, that an Orochi member must always be prepared for combat and to fight the nations wars at any given moment and time. The Orochi clan had many mottos like that. With a big yawn, Chio fell into formation with the others. And like the others, Chio pondered on what tonight’s fuck fuck games would be. There were a lot of uncertain faces in the group. Chio in the others eventually received a brief on tonight’s training exercise but not before singing the clan’s song and taking accountability. Oddly, there was one no show… and oddly..er, tonight’s game was called hide and seek. Members of the group were to hunt the missing Orochi no show in order to complete the training for tonight. This seemed simple enough, however, nothing was ever simple in this clan. This training exercise also came with a penalty game. Only one in the formation would be successful in catching the defector and the rest would run laps till sundown. Like Chio, the others looked to their left and right and immediately began devising ways to sabotage one another. This game, like most in her clan, had high stakes…
