Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

It had taken about a day or two to really get the paperwork processed and put away, but luckily it wasn't longer than that. Megami had sent a memo to Kamaru to meet her in the prison as she would be releasing Kazuki today. He had been labeled as a shinobi that was waived of the speculated charges, and as such, capable of being removed from the holding cell he found himself in currently. Overall, Megami was not displeased with the way she handled this, though many could argue that they would have handled it differently. It just seemed like the best way to do it at the time.

Working her way through the prison, several guards on duty smiled or waved at her, or just said "good morning". She nodded back to each individual, but her mind was lost in thought. Navigating on autopilot, she managed to reach Kazuki's cell. The guards immediately perked up. She brushed them aside and went to the window. "Senju Kazuki, you are hereby being released from the holding cell. Kamaru has spoken for you. I do apologize for the delay, as I could not find Umashi, any other Sennin, or the Fire Daimyo." Removing the keys from her pocket, she unlocked the cell door and let it swing open with a slight creek. She would wait for Kazuki to exit the cell, and then would go to close it. "I believe Kamaru is coming, if you'd like to leave with him. But you're free to go in any case. Do you need anything arranged?" Megami waited for a response, but she wasn't sure if she would get one. She was only going to be here a short time, in any case. But if Kazuki needed to be set up with sleeping arrangements, or information as to how to get in contact with certain individuals, she could most likely point him in the right direction.

Getting any kind of transportation for someone was something new to Kamaru in this village which was part of his dilemma. He was still new to Stone and from what he originally asked people about he got odd looks about things. Practically it didn’t make sense to not just walk where you needed to go so why he needed to find someone to take some with a cart from one place to another seemed to be lost in his words. Finally explaining from a different point of view he had a guy that may not be able to walk well and was not slender got a different response and someone overhearing explained they had equipment they used for doing deliveries so they wouldn’t mind helping. Kamaru asked how much he would charge for the trip and the man blinked. He wasn’t really sure why he would but if he wanted to give him a sum of money as a sign of thanks he would accept. Kamaru still had a hard time figuring out people in Stone it seemed. Doing things based on them looking like the right thing to do to help out at the time still although it made sense seemed slightly foreign.

Kamaru and the man showed up outside the area and the man looked at him but said nothing. Kamaru figured the man was free to think what he wanted and explained he’d be back momentarily dropping an umbrella into the cart. Moving to the front he’d explain who he was and wait for Kazuki or be escorted to his cell to be picked up. Once he saw Kazuki he’d let him know arrangements with his clanmen had been made for someplace for him to reside.

Souji was trailing Lightning a few days after he'd met up in the Spire about those bodies. They were now in her custody, or Endo's he didnt remember the full conversation but this was an epic foreshadowing to what he was going to be doing anyways so, with that Souji would drop from the Hole's entrance trailing in the shadows of the corridors before he managed to find a spot behind Lightning to get himself in position to help if there was any fighting that would happen....

Several days later, it was time for freedom. Kazuki had long enter a state of complete stupor. Both because his mind was becoming dull with boredom and because the sap withdrawal had entered its stage number 2. No longer in a state of agitation and complete inability to stay put, he was now suffering from a far worse symptom. Apathy. The third stage would be loss of motor function quickly followed by death. Phase 3 was still a couple days away, but once it started there was no turning back and death would be certain for the Overlord of the Senju Clan. Fortunately, the time to die had not yet come to the White Reaper. Only one thing would be able to spur some life back into the Silvery Haired Man and that was the voice of Megami. Why so? To the Executioner's mind her voice was connected to his release. There was, of course, a fifty-fifty chance that she was here to execute him, but since the Reaper was a guilt free man, he was convinced that there was no chance of that happening.

And so after the Guardian of Lightning's first sentence, Kazuki rose up from his bed, where he had stayed lying down for the last days, and walked to the door. While internally he was a wreck, no one would guess it so from his outside appearance. He seemed virtually the same, as if his faith that he was not guilty had allow him to remain the same despite being jailed. In truth he had suffered a lot, but he would exactly show how feeble he really was to those outsiders, whose trust level was not great. "If you failed to find Umashi, then I am afraid that he might be dead at the moment. And like I told you, I am the remaining Sennin of the former Hidden Village. Former Sennin for that matter, since my village is no more. And finding the Daimyo would be very ill advised from you, unless you wish to die before you are due." the Rider of Death noted as he exited his jail.

Outside three people, besides the guards, stood waiting him. The Guardian of Lighting, the wicked Guardian of Shadows, whose shadow was always provoked a weird reaction from the former Sennin's own, and Kamaru, the only familiar face of the group and the only one he really trusted. Speaking of shadows, Kazuki's immediately began wavering around as soon as it realized Souji was there. Once again, things were going on that he had no knowledge of why. That was a mystery that caressed an answer. And this puzzle deserved some time to reach maturation before being cracked. Time would give the answers. "Gentleman, lady." he greeted everyone. Instead of bowing, the Overlord attempted to lock eyes with each individual. He wasn't trying to be disrespectful, in fact, that was the Senju way to acknowledge their presence, to signal that they were worthy and not weak scum deserving to be trampled.

"I do." the White Wolf replied after hearing Megami's question. "I need a couple of things. Someone to show me your village so I can get my way around here. Someone one to tell me your penal code, I need to know what I can and I cannot do before I face once trial once more without knowing why, just like now. While my primary goal is the downfall of the Fire Daimyo and the restoration of Leaf, those goals will take time, thus I want to be inserted into the same Shinobi Branch as Kamaru for the time being. I might also require to do some extensive traveling, will that be a problem? Lastly, I need to have a conversation with the Tsuchikage. I want to know his plans for us refugees."

It was a lot to ask and there was no certainty that Megami would fulfill any of his requests, but since she had asked for it.

(OoC: Well since I was mentioned I guess I came in.)

Kamaru sighed inwardly to himself when he saw Kazuki, at least he could stand on his own for now. He was all business it seemed until he made requests.

”We can arrange for some of your clan members to show you the basics and later if needed a request or tour I think can be made.” Kamaru offered cocking his head to the other two next to him. If the Guardian of Lightning had a second with her besides guard’s he was either her backup or personal assistant… Kamaru made a mental note to get a personal assistant as well.

”I’ll also need to review the codes and I can think of someplace someone told me about to do research that would meet the requirements if one wants to learn of the laws and teachings of this village and these lands. The Fire Country is in crisis when we left and is probably only getting worse, but to have any plans we’ll need intelligence without putting this village’s neck out or showing involvement I don’t think.” Kamaru added, ”A job in the Main Branch with me is fine, traveling later can be worked out, and a meeting with the Tsuchikage can be scheduled… from what I understand people of your Clan seemed adamant about a meeting you needed to be at if you are to remain among them or something. There’s also a form of transportation of sorts for you since I didn’t know physically if you’ll make the journey…expediently.” Kamaru explained.

Turning to the other two he’d wait to see if there was anything else that needed to be done before taking Kazuki if he was officially released.

Turning around, Megami noticed that Kamaru had arrived, but she was surprised that the Guardian of Shadows had arrived as well. "I didn't expect your presence here, but if you are then you can assist me for the time being." While she organized the running and orders given to those within her field of work, she didn't dictate where they were at all times. Usually it involved specific locations at specific times, but that just wasn't the case at this point. Either way, she'd make use of an extra pair of hands. Kazuki seemed to be moving slower than when first arrived, but maybe that was a result of the stir crazy feeling that grows on people when in a confined area. She knew it wasn't a result of malnourishment, as the policy dictated balanced meals when the inmates were fed. She was curious but wasn't going to make mention of it.

As Kazuki took up her request to make certain arrangements, she would think about how best to answer before Kamaru spoke before her. If he wanted to handle certain arrangements, she wasn't going to complain. It was a shared job, easy tasks of sorts. Taking out a slip of paper and a pen, she started to write down some addresses. "As for a place to stay, you can best find that at one of the hotels in the Pearl Tenements, which is in this section of the village, not far from here. I'll also write down the address for the local archives, where you should be able to find what you're looking for when it comes to basic documents, that's found in the Temple and is considered a sacred place. That's about as far as I can assist you." Megami handed over the slip of paper to Kazuki, waiting for him to take the list of addresses. "You're free to go where you want. But if you're looking to get into contact with the Kage, you'll have to talk to his secretary, you already know the location of the Spire, which is where you'll find him or his assistant. And the best way to learn an area is just to experience it,at least I've always thought so." Putting away her notepad and pen, she looked between the men, wondering if she'd forgotten anything. Kamaru seemed fit to handling the branch transaction, and it wasn't really her jurisdiction anyway, so she had no issues with it. Her input was only to add on to what Kamaru had said, but for the most part her involvement was finished. Her eyes caught Souji briefly, just analyzing. She hadn't seen him around much, but everyone seemed increasingly busy. Oh well. Looking back between Kamaru and Kazuki, she gestured towards the exit to the prison. "Is there anything else? If not, you're free to exit." She'd wait for any further responses. Figuring in any case, she would be the last to take her leave.

Souji would just watch, the book was in the temple in Arcadia. Locked away, and discarded until he wanted to find use of it. He was likely going to burn the damned thing anyways but Souji wasnt thinking and pondering on that book right now anyways. He had to be focused on this transaction. Lightning didnt expect him to be there... but he was always going to be there for her if she needed him. Not just for a promotion. He honestly cared. He was... inclined to think she was that person that he had played checkers with. Though, he did understand the work persona. Though Souji wasnt much different outside of work. He cared. He loved. He felt. Damn. Maybe he was different. Either way, Souji'd stick to the shadows feeling as if Kazuki's shadows would protest against his own. However, did this show that the man had no control over his energies? Maybe. Souji felt something with him that was similar. Similar to the core.

He hated it.

"Hmph.", Souji didnt like this one bit. Though, he'd deal with it because it was going to be something that he would have to deal with. The man had done no wrong here so there was no reason to hold him. Souji would be watching the man closely though. He didnt want anything happening to the people in this village. Looking to Lightning as she turned to talk to him he'd nod his head allowing a shadowy wisp to hold a note out to her closed within an envelope. He'd only leave once the other two were out but he'd not speak about the note until the next time they were and had a moment alone.

"Very well." Kazuki calmly said to Megami as he grabbed the piece of paper she was giving him. After a moment of studying its contents, the Overlord stored in within a pocket of his pants. Since Kamaru was apparently taking charge of his requests, the former Sennin saw no reason to continue in the prison. "It seems my friend Kamaru is more than capable of handling my request, so no. There is nothing else to ask at this time. Considering we will live in the same village, at least for the time being, I am certain we will meet each other again, though hopefully in a more amicable atmosphere." he noted as he turned to face Kamaru. "So you are in the Main Branch in here as well. Can't say I remember my time as one since I was never a part of that branch before. It will be an hassle to learn the ropes, but I am certain I will succeed with a little guidance. While your offering of a form of transportation of sorts is thoughtful, I don't need it. I may move slower than usual, but I am more than able to walk on my own. And believe me, I am as eager, if not more, to meet them again." he would note as he would turn around once more. However, this time he was headed toward the exit of Stone's Prison, the so called Hole.

Indeed his movements were a bit stiffer than normal, but he was relentless. Nothing would deter him from his determined path now that he was free.

Kamaru looked from the young lady with the pink hair and to the other behind her.

”Ma’am…Uh… Ma’am’s Assistant?” Kamaru stated with nods not really sure who the second person was or what to call him.

Escorting Kazuki outside Kamaru would give him a few remarks back to his thoughts of the Main Branch. ”The Main Branch sees to most of the day to day operations around the country really and to instruction at the academy, it’s not as glamorous probably as to what you might be used to.” Once outside closer to the cart Kamaru would look around to see if the cost was clear, he’d hip check the larger man into the cart.

”I know you don’t need it but slower isn’t going to do right now and we both know it. Since you weren’t there no one in your clan wanted to start the meeting. So we need to get on that as quickly as possible and I’m not carrying you on my back unless I have to. Think of it as me requesting this favor of you and a request to take the hit to your pride for once… besides you’ve been more battered than this before, I’ve seen you.” Kamaru explained close to the man’s ear as he bumped him into the cart, Kamaru's last remark mostly a joke. Regardless of if he could walk Kamaru needed to get him someplace quickly regardless of his pride or physical state, ”Any idea who the assistant was to the Guardian Lady in charge of the prison.” Kamaru would inquire into Kazuki’s ear as he attempted to push Kazuki into the cart again if he kept resisting.

Taking off his jacket and folding it he got a funny look from the man who owned the cart as he got into place to pull and saw Kamaru get behind the cart explaining this was the guy.

It was a compounded responsibility, Kamaru didn’t really know how or why Kazuki was going to die but from what his clans member said without a ritual he would slowly turn into a hollow version of himself in a matter of days, Kamaru figured they meant he’d die. The fact no one would start meant Kamaru felt responsible for the delay and their heads and lives of several where on his shoulders plus getting Kazuki there as quickly as possible.

Happy that everything seemed to be settled for the time being, she allowed herself to take a breath after the others had left. Her schedule recently was just swamped. Meeting after meeting, visit after visit. When was the last time she did something with some off time. It's not like she minded working, but her sister would be getting cross with her soon if she didn't give herself some more down time.

She stared at the note that was handed to her by Souji, turning it over and back again. It didn't appear that there was any writing on the outside, and for a moment she contemplated opening it, but decided now wasn't the time. If it were important she doubted he would have delivered it in a note form, meaning it was either something minor or personal. She didn't know which it was, but either way she just would have to look at it later, as now she needed to finish up some things here before she was able to take her leave.

As she shut the door to the now empty cell, Megami turned to the guards on duty. They gave a sturdy salute to her, but she waved them off. "Is there anything else you need from us, ma'am?" Megami shook her head and they headed off to another part of the prison. Souji most likely left after they did, having no reason to have stuck around either. Brushing some hair out of her eyes, she started to head out herself. "Maybe I'll go for a drink." After all, the idea didn't sound like a bad proposition to herself. Oh well, off to do more things.

The Note said:
To Lightning-sama,

Excuse the formalities, but I do wish to repay you for your kind gestures at dinner a while back. You may bring your sister as well, the newly established Yukata Home, while small, would still have enough room for the night cap. If not, I wanted to at least have a more quiet setting... maybe just the two of us. It'd be the least that I could do considering all that you've done for me in just one day. Let me know when you have free time, we could even head into the Outer Maruishi regions to do something... even if its just to relax and enjoy the company of another. Anyways, I'll cut this short... Send me a note back as soon as you can with your response... if you so choose.
Upřímně,
Guardian of Shadows.
