Ryota, a teenager, was acting more with his heart rather than his brain right now. The moment he found out that it was her, he started to rush everything. The bag that was frequently set ready for another bigger mission was taken. He fixed his gear and his scarf. At the gates, he too rushed the whole progress and even half-assed it A part of him was scared of the punishments that could come afterward, but a part of him did not care either way. He tried to remember the geographic surroundings and how to navigate through them… During the day, he tried to hunt and eat. Take it easy, but at night he would stay on the travel as far and fast as he could. And while he did all that, he made sure he used as little energy as possible.

“Right now it looks deserted though.”
“Yea… that worries me too.”
“But let’s try to worry about that tomorrow…” Ryota knew his contract was right; he would need to save up his strength for tomorrow.
The teen hardly slept at all that night; his mind went over all the details the whole time. But also, there were so many questions, and none of them were getting any answers right now. Where is she? Why did they take her? How do I get her out? Things like that.
When he entered the cave, it was very dark. A strong wind blew out his small torch. "Great," he said quietly, then grabbed a little flashlight. The light showed him the cave's weird shapes sharp rocks hanging from the ceiling looked dangerous. The ground was uneven with many cracks that shimmered with a strange blue light, causing shadows that seemed to tease him. The glowing light made him feel hopeful that it might lead him his friend, to the person he cared about.
As he walked deeper into the maze, he felt a heavy silence that was unsettling. Before long, he started to hear whispers that grew louder and more intense. They said things like, “Join us… accept the darkness…” The whispers wrapped around him like a creepy song, trying to pull him down into sadness. He shook his head hard to stay focused and keep moving forward.
As Ryota walked, he heard more whispers, lots of voices sounding sad and hopeless. The cave seemed to react to his bravery, its walls pulsing like a dark heartbeat that he could feel in his chest. He stumbled forward, sensing that he was being watched until he reached a big room. The cave opened around him, its walls thumping like a giant heart, making him feel even more tense. In this creepy place, the darkness felt alive, wrapping around him and trying to pull him in.
