[col]Several men, clad in white, armed with protective face masks had put Koto on a cloth stretcher and carried her from the Gates to the Kumo's respective hospital. They were absolute, to save one's life, that was their job and something they took very seriously. The burrow of their brow spoke words of concern for the clutching pup, dirty finger nails latched onto her abdomen where an intense volume of pain originated from. This pain eroded her flesh, it felt like, and slowly crept toward her chest; sluggishly moving towards her developing heart. These men in white were emergency response to patients whom suffered injries that required more in-depth treatment such as Kotone.
The night was long and dark, everything came blurry and layered with an uncertain haze. A terrible fever caught the young girl, turning her body into a husk of white. She curled up, as best as she could, trying to comfort herself as the bed offered little solace - at least she wasn't dying outside of the village, though. Koto didn't know what was happening, to be fair, but only knew that if she didn't make it through the night then there was no chance for her. The doctors had put her onto a drip to deal with the parasites that she contracted from eating the scavenger birds, whom would often flesh on rotting flesh. Unfortunately, the poor birds weren't able to digest this certain parasite and past it on to the young girl before dying themselves.
Lips, on occasion, were dyed blue with speckles of purple flares; the lack of oxygen in her body was evident. Whenever her vitals dropped, the attentive team would rush in to see the young, nameless girl and treat her before attending to their other patients. All Koto could was try to survive through the night, but a knock on her quarters would distract her from the pain momentarily; who was it?
