Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Even with proper cleaning once I was inside lightning borders, there was a small aura of filth that seemed to follow me everywhere. And if there was one thing I HATED it was to be smelly. I was obviously grumpy with a scowl when I approached the gates, giving quite a few waves to the guards whom I recognized. One of them was quick to radio my lieutenant Katsu and let him know of my return. I simply grumbled and made my way forward to see if there was anyone I was to meet, or if I was to seek out Masao once in the village.

I thought it would be a fairly ordinary, if not boring, day, since I had gate duty once again. As a trainee (technically), I always seemed to get stuck there... even though I'd been in the ANBU branch for almost five years now. It was fair, though, considering I'd only recently come out of my coma so a relaxing, easy job like gatewatching was probably for the best. What nobody expected, however, was what happened when a a teenager approached.

I saw him wave to a couple of the guards at another point on the wall, but since it was my turn to let people through, I went down instead. I spoke as I walked up to him (since I'd landed on the floor at quite a distance from him):

"May I please see your passport and have a reason for en--"

But I never got any further in my sentence. Without warning, my heart suddenly stopped beating; it contracted, but never finished pumping the blood it took in. I gasped in pain, and my heart started again... but now it felt as though something was ripping through my chest, grabbing my ribcage and yanking on it continually, like... like something was trying to break free. I know now what it was... but at the time, I was confused, in pain, and horribly, terribly vulnerable. I remember thinking, "What if that guy was a nuke? What if he were to kill me right now, just because I'm an ANBU?" I screamed.

Other guards heard me through our headsets, and a volley of ANBU leaped to the ground, circling me, shielding me from the person before me. I slumped to the ground, the pain becoming to much for my body to deal with. I was only twenty feet from the guy.

One of the ANBU picked my body and ran me to the Hospital, while several unnamed, faceless people took over for me.

While the majority of ANBU stayed in the circular formation around where Kosei had fallen, one stepped slightly forward, to address the person. "Identify yourself, and state your purpose!" he yelled. From the band he wore, the ANBU knew he was a kumo-nin, and from his eyes, they could see he was not an Uchiha (for this ANBU was a Hyuuga, and there were no excess chakra paths to his eyes. That ruled out visually-performed genjutsu on the trainee, but due to the fact that there were young jutsu prodigies in the world, they remained cautious.

Sorry, I used this opportunity to further my plot arc!

As the man was walking toward me, I returned a friendly smile, pulling out my passport to put into his hand. I hadn't recognized this one as my usual guard, so I assumed he was apart of the ANBU who shared the job as well. But he stopped mid sentence in some kind of pain. He gasped and my eyebrow rose, taking a step forward to see if he was okay. But all of a sudden a dozen ANBU were around in in guard formation, one of them demanded to know who I was. I smirked.

Several Main Branch shinobi were at my side in moments. "Ishikawa Zaku, Captain of the Death Watch. You tread on my territory ANBU. You gonna let me in or what?" I smiled, even chuckling a little bit at his ignorance. The gates were my palace; I was king. But suddenly, just like the man who had been taken a way from the gates, I too felt a strange burning within my chest. "Hurt him... we must find the one that got away." said the voice. "Oh not you again. Whoever the fuck you are stay out of my head." I demanded, feeling the burning intenisfy for a moment but slowly reside. I cleared my throat with a couple beats on my chest and looked at him expectantly. "Well?" I said, offering my passport.

Of course the ANBU recognized the name Ishikawa Zaku, however, this was a time when you know a name, not a person. The Hyuugan ANBU stepped forward and took the passport offered, and upon confirming the picture contained with the appearance of the guy, he lightened up a bit. Several Kumogakure shinobi appeared by Zaku, and the tension was back. "Apologies, Zaku, but you can understand our concern when someone collapses in pain while talking to a stranger." Zaku wasn't exactly known for his genjutsu prowess, and there was no visual sign of a ninjutsu being used, so the ANBU were willing to let that go... for now. "However, you'll also understand how highly suspicious it seems, can you not?" he said. The ANBU group remained stalwart, unmoving.

"How is he?" The Hyuugan said into his headset, fairly softly, though still audibly.
"He's awake, but he keeps talking about hearing voices in his head. I'm almost to the medical complex though. i don't know what's happened. I've tried releasing genjutsu, but it seems that he was never afflicted by any. I don't know of any mental ninjutsu outside of the one ANBU jutsu, and there's no way that Zaku-- I heard it was Zaku, right?-- could possibly know that..."
I doubt it. It's worth asking him about later, though. Stay by him as long as you can."
"Yes, sir."

"Ishikawa Zaku. You are free to enter the village, but please keep in touch." he said, handing the passport back to the boy.

"I suppose I can yes. Sorry for my attitude, it's been a long trip, I smell like shit and am rather tired." I responded, waiting for the go ahead. With a smile I took my passport back and gave him a nod. "You can always reach me on the gate frequency. As for now, I have a meeting with Sennin Takaki. See you around." I said and quickly vacated the area.
