Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Sitting in the small coffee shop was nice Kamaru thought as he sipped coffee staring at his notes. A momentary lapse or break from his norm, an indulgence of sorts to take his mind off work and worry. Thoughts of Genjutsu were on his mind when he found it odd he suddenly felt his back hitting the ground without any sounds around him things looked different, the ceiling looked odd, slightly burnt and crumbling, was the roof crumbling he could see outside to the sky above, why was it silent he slowly tried to work out his brain screaming in overdrive to suddenly catch up to what had happened to his body as he stared up at the sky. Wasn't he inside? Why could he see clouds? Trying to sit up sent spikes of pain into his head causing his face to contort as his body slump down to the ground taking into account the new sensations of discomfort. He covered his face with a hand feeling something warm and wet against it. Had he spilt his coffee when he fell over? That was lame he thought looking at his hand. No, not coffee... Warm and red, slightly getting sticky as he rubbed his fingers together his brain finally caught up to the situation screaming an overflow of information at once. The smell in the air of burning building parts, ash, and burnt bodies melded to a sick perfume that hung heavy in the air as he grumbled trying to assess himself. Head? Hurt, possible injury. Neck and shoulders worked it seemed. Arms? Two fists able to be clenched meant he hadn’t lost one. Center mass? Looking down his chest he didn't see anything sticking out of his chest so that was good. That was good he figured as he tried to figure things out, time seemed slow if only a few seconds had passed or minutes he wasn’t really sure.

Something was on his legs. Where they crushed? He grimaced when he tried to move them, not mobile yet but he could feel so probably still connected. The sudden flick or fire and the realization his legs below the thighs felt hot surprised him, his mind finally screamed through the sensory overload that he was on fire as his hands blurred forming hand seals right before water above him came crashing down letting the bubble splash down on him. He continued to form hand seals looking at a muddy version of himself staring blankly at Kamaru rubble and debris covering the creation. Pointing at the slab of rock over him the clone nodded and started to lift. Kamaru sucked in his breath, he though it hurt before as he pulled himself backwards on his elbows. He felt this tired from such a small task? Was he shutting down? he thought to himself as he continued to form and mold chakra looking around. A green light moving to his legs from his hand as he tried to assess the situation. He kind of wanted to see what it looked like under the black material of his slacks... on second thought he'd wait for someone more proficient to do the once over. Now he needed to move.

Moving over rubble was slow with a make shift staff from debris while he began looking around he figured out where the blood was from looking at the red blood stained remnants of walls that still remained standing. Hearing the soft sobs of someone he searched around moving rubble away with his sidekick's help seeing a young girl. She was shivering. Covered in caked soot and rubble dust she quietly shook and muttered something. What was she ten? Twelve? Kamaru knew by the outfit and look she probably wasn’t a student at the academy and tried to calm her thinking she was in shock.

"Easy I'm going to get you out of here... what's your name?" Kamaru explained looking around and started tossing rubble away from here. Others seemed to be emerging into this horrific dreamlike state as well. Kamaru finally caught what she was muttering, "It burns." she muttered and Kamaru looked around, no smoke was coming from the rubble but he couldn't tell what was going on as he dug her out. Realization of what she meant wasn't pretty. One of her legs towards the bottom of her shin had blackened skin and flattened to an odd shape, the other leg below the knee was worse since there wasn't even an remains there. Kamaru sucked in his breath with a sigh and steeled himself. Looking at his clone he nodded out towards the exterior and told him to wait for medics to come and bring them here. He wasn't one much for talk but he tried to keep up small talk, the girls voice was quiet in the wails of others coming to terms with the situation and their own hardships as well. They might be feeling the 'burn' as well, nerves shot from the extreme trauma. Having experienced such trauma to the body nerve endings either shutting off or still switch to on permanently for parts of the body no longer part of them. It turned out the girl from the small talk Kamaru found out was named Sana, practicing to be a singer of folktales.

From the conversation it seemed her father wished for her to do something more substantial with her life then a fickle hobby to support herself. Her moth seemed to quietly support her just wanting her to be happy. Any time the conversation steered towards her legs Kamaru slowly calmed her as she started to breath more rapidly asking more details from her life to keep her mind off things, her favorite color. What was easiest songs to sing and why? What the harder once to perform were? If Kamaru could since these folktales as well? As Kamaru was pushed away by medical professionals he was dragged someplace outside by a member to get looked at as well as they worked on the girl to assess what they could do. Talk of moving her outside to a cleaner more stable environment danced in the back of his mind. Kamaru realized he was so damn tired now as he seemed to slip in and out of it a bit himself as he was treated.

An incendiary explosion was supposedly the cause Kamaru heard people discussing as he listened to the briefing it had been hot and fast, more so the kinetic output pushing outwards supposedly was the desired cause versus a big flash. Killing a few and maiming as many as possible was the initial discussions theory that was mentioned by those among the first on scene that weren't helping the wounded but searching for the cause. One of the injured, Sana, supposedly had just walked out of the fatal blast zone into a zone that now left her disfigured. Kamaru had been outside the blast radius maximum yield sitting in an antisocial like corner away from most of the shop and people. Lucky him he only suffered a slight tossing around and building parts landing on him.

From the groups showing up and discussing things trying to take charge Kamaru got the impression they were from the ANBU branch. With verification that it wasn’t based on jutsu or techniques used by shinobi they deemed it not under their jurisdiction stating the Main Branch Sennin should be notified to get his people on this.

”I’m right god damn here.” Kamaru stated exasperated. He wanted to yell but he didn’t have it in him. With a flat comment on saying it was nice he didn’t die so a replacement didn’t have to be appointed they explained they’d like reports on any findings since this was still a possible threat against the village. Kamaru thanked them for reminding him of the obvious and went to taking care of managing the search teams and finding out what the medical team needed if anything in particular came to mind.

It was a bit disturbing to know when he took a break was the time someone had decided to blow up something. Kamaru mind settled onto what this was, an act of terror.
