Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The Plague Preserves are a synthetic recreation of the Red Death using remnants of Barynx's heart and/or the remains of Sunahoshi Keikou/Takahashi Hana as a main ingredient.

Red Death

The Red Death is a disease that is caused by the contamination of Barynx's heart corrupted the earth beneath Sunagakure. Early symptoms start after approximately 1 week and consist of mild flu-like symptoms including a low-grade fever 100-101, dry non-productive cough, malaise and muscle aches. Intermediate Symptoms usually occur in the 2nd week, a petechiae rash develops, their phlegm is blood streaked as is their stool and sometimes their urine has a strawberry tint. Symptoms often persists for another 2 weeks [week 4 total] where they bleed from every orifice, usually blood loss or secondary infection is the cause of death. With treatment, mortality hovers around 75%, without treatment it is approximately 95%. Treatment is only palliative; there has been some success with blood transfusions but blood supplies tend to be limited because many shinobi clans erroneously believe that their bloodline trait can be transmitted to another via blood exchange but it is believed that the blood of a Kagyua would be immensely helpful in curing this condition. There has been no reported cases of the Red Death for several years now, it is believed that through proactive quarantine and perhaps some inherent immunities that no active cases of the red Death have been established recently.
Source
This disease is transmitted via contact. Contact is defined as bodily fluids such as non-intact skin, sexual contact, blood transfusions, etc. While it is unknown whether transmission may occur before symptoms have already exhibited, it is our assumption that there is a 24h window upon which a non-symptomatic individual can transmit this disease before they become symptomatic. Incubation is approximately 1.5 weeks.TransmissionSymptoms

Early symptoms start after approximately 1.5 week and consist of mild flu-like symptoms including a fever in excess of 101 but never over 103, a harsh rattling productive cough productive of red-streaked sputum, severe lethargy and muscle pain. Intermittent symptoms include boils over one's face and arms, even if this disease proves not to be fatal, these boils often leave deep pock-like scars. These boils have in 95% of all cases led to a secondary infection, most commonly cellulitis. The fever and lethargy persist, often leaving the victim dehydrated and malnourished unless someone cares for them during this state of illness. Due to fear of contamination, most victims die before reaching the final stage. In the final stage, organs begin to putrefy one at a time. Treatment for this is supportive, meaning if a victim's organs can be supported long enough to recover, the victim will surve but be severely weakened as a result of the disease processes.

Mortality

With treatment, mortality is 10% but due to fears of contamination many people go untreated. Untreated, mortality rates for the second stage are 60% and the final stage are 95%.

Diagnosis

We have not had any recent cases of the plague, the last reported case was some time ago and medicine has advanced greatly since this last case. During the time of the Plague Wars, we did not have the sophisticated medical technology we have today and for that reason we do not know if there is a reliable indicator for this disease beyond symptomology. As there is no other disease that exhibits in this manner in Wind Country, that would be for now our most reliable indicator.
Diagnosis
Prevalence

The disease through rigorous hygienic protocols and isolation procedures has been eradicated in Wind Country. The Plague Preserves that were used to cause this tragedy have been for the most part destroyed. With the destruction of our medical center, Five of the remaining thirteen samples of the plague were also destroyed but thankfully the virus was never transmitted. The area was cleansed and quarantined until it was determined that the area was safe. Eight samples of the Plague Preserves remain in a vault in the Omni Prime Medical Center

[legend="Mission: Protection of the Preserves"]The Plague Preserves are one of the most dangerous and important artifacts in the Omni Prime Medical Center. Six vials of Plague are locked away in a laboratory and the Medics often take turns guarding the room. Do not let anyone in or out. Not your friend. Not your superior. In fact, even you do not have a key.

  • Rank: Variable

Details: A research vault in the Omni Prime Medical Center has 5 vials of preserves. Protect these preserves -- do not let anyone in or out. while attempts to steal the preserves are rather infrequent, we have the occasional (foolish) attempt. Even Medics are not trusted with a key to the preserves, although rumor has it the Medical Captains have a key.

[legend="Mission: Study of the Plague"]
  • The Plague Preserves demonstrate how corruption can become a literal disease. This is a curious thing considering the germ-theory most medics subscribe to. We would like to know more about these preserves. Watch, learn, study but make sure that this disease does not get out.

Rank: Medical Captain only. This can be done as a group mission (self modded or otherwise) with a PC Medical Captain

Details: Study the disease without releasing it to the public. If you think you figured out something, mention it when you hand in your mission IC. If you get it right you should know about it. This will likely have something to do with a future mini event if things go wrong.

This is Considered to be a Self-Modded Solo Mission
Important: Self-modded missions may be done twice in a week, however the second mission done yields half normal rewards. Players may also perform one mission with 2x the word count in order to gain the rewards of having done two missions. This still only yields half rewards for the second mission.

What Rank of Self-Modded Solo Missions can I perform?
  • A user may only perform a mission of their current OOC Rank or lower. This mission is considered to match the Rank of the Medic or MiT who performs the mission.

What are the rewards for Solo Missions?
  • This depends on the Rank your character is OC'ly. But the rewards are as follows:
    • D-Rank: 2,000 Yen
    • C-Rank: 2,500 Yen
    • B-Rank: 3,000 Yen
    • A-Rank: 4,000 Yen
    • S-Rank: 5,000 Yen

What is the required word count for this mission?
  • The word count is dependent on the rank of the mission you undergo. The word count minimums are as follows:
    • E-Rank: 250 Words
    • D-Rank: 300 Words
    • C-Rank: 350 Words
    • B-Rank: 400 Words
    • A-Rank: 450 Words
    • S-Rank: 500 Words

Someone else has already completed this entry, what now?
  • This entry is considered to be a repetitive entry, meaning that when this mission is completed, it will happen again someplace else. That is the problem with diseases and people catching them! So it is POK for multiple players to do this mission separately.

Can this be a group mission?
  • The answer is YES. Just look-up and follow all group mission rules, this can be a modded or a non-modded mission. As a group (modded or otherwise) mission, this can be used to count towards your Captain status.

I have completed my mission, what now?
  • Drop you mission off in character (IC) HERE.

I am not from Sunagakure but I am visiting and I would like to perform a solo mission listed, is that OK?
  • YES! While you are always welcome to join our community (and we do encourage it), leaving people out of the fun goes against the out of character spirit of this community. You can serve as a mercenary or a helpful foreigner and complete these missions as well, just keep it in character and drop your mission off at the office as listed above but re-linked HERE. Just be sure that you have gotten permission from your primary community.
