Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

What was this mysterious force that made Jihoon have to walk on ground? Why was it that he was always pushed, or pulled, down to the earth's surface while all his ghosts could float and fly. Is it because they were ghosts? They said he was more like them than he was like other humans so he should be able to float, right? If only he could fly, he wouldn't have to walk everywhere.

While he had no concept of chakra he knew he was special, though his ghosts were the leading cause to this, and would lead him to discover about the workings of gravity. Though most of the ghosts were dead for many years and the science behind gravity wasn't, or isn't yet, discovered and explained. To them everything was capable of being manipulated by Chakra, and as a special child, Jihoon should be perfectly capable of manipulating said force.

Passing through his body they caused his Chakra to pulse outside of his body uncontrolled, affecting the surrounding area, corrupting it with his chakra and their presence.

[now... control] The ghosts eerily whispered directly to his brain from inside him. They weren't possessing him, he was immune to their possession, but he could allow them to manipulate his chakra for him but he controlled their will.

He wasn't quite used to needing to actively control his own energy, so it took a while to figure it out. He didn't look at gravity scientifically, it was merely a force that was made for him to manipulate. He wildly flared his chakra, causing objects in the area to lift from the ground, but it was incredibly unstable. The ghosts, while unable to directly control gravity themselves, were able to stabilize the change in gravity while he focused on changing it.

After practice they were able to manipulate the gravity around them, but not the gravity affecting Jihoon. That led to more dangerous experiments, at one point he could have floated all the way into space due to completely reversing the gravity of himself. It wasn't a fun experience.

1. Sixth Sense
Being close to death himself it allowed him to have a form of sixth sense. He was able to see ghosts, communicate with them, even manipulate those with low will. What else is there to explain? He had a link to the other side that not a lot of other people had. The fact that he can view spirits made him acutely aware of other souls around him, the gut feeling was more trusted because of this. Though he didn't see people as souls, he was able to see a faint wisp around their bodies, this didn't show anything to him, unless people had link souls, and by looking closely he would be able to see that.
2. Defensive Technique
Jihoon wasn't a fighter, he was a prankster definitely, but not a fighter. He didn't like getting hit, while he was already mostly a ghost, the pain still affected him and it still hurt, a lot. His body wasn't filled with muscle, he had no cushions, and next to no pain tolerance, but his body was small and agile. Small body equals small hitbox. As long as he was on the defensive he was able to move out of the way of attacks much easier, and it wasn't like he needed to aim completely, he had his ghosts to guide his attacks for him, while paying attention was always better they would be able to compensate for it.
3. Shattered Reality
The way Jihoon use "Genjutsu" is much different than other ninja, in fact, he doesn't use jutsu in the traditional sense. Instead, he commands his ghosts to temporarily possess the target, not completely controlling them but manipulating their mind to make reality false. Because the ghosts followed Jihoon's will but also had their own will they would actively do more, making their targets more susceptible to attacks. Also, when called back by Jihoon sometimes they would pour more of their influence into the brain of the ones they were possessing, causing intense mental pain before slipping out. They were quite the "one man" army.
4. Elemental Illusion
The ghosts had a basic concept of "Chakra types," as they were called in their time, and while they couldn't utilize Jihoon's natural chakra type it was something they decided to look into. They met a traveling shinobi, a teacher, who carried chakra papers and allowed Jihoon to test it. Through this method he learned that he had a lightning "affinity." Being a teacher the man was quite worried the boy had nowhere to go, and offered Jihoon a place to stay. Jihoon had no intention of staying with the man, he liked his situation, no parents to annoy and boss him around, but he went along with the man. After a while Jihoon and his ghosts began manipulating the man's mind, their new found "Chakra affinity" causing the man to take longer in his actions, almost as if he was stunned from time to time. Alas, the man bored them, and their mind tricks slowly drove him insane, so they went on their merry way. The man is dead by the way, committed suicide before he could make it home.
5. Illusionist
Like explained Jihoon didn't do Genjutsu normally, and because of this and his proficiency at hiding he was capable of manipulating the minds of other without himself being detected. Much like his ability to attack away from notice, however attacking physically an attacking mentally came with differences. It was easier to manipulate the minds without being noticed, it did little damage on the body and with a little bit of a push he was capable of keeping himself out of notice. He also began to notice that there were a few people who had a stronger grasp on their minds than others, and sometimes they were able to resist the possession. He couldn't overcome this completely, sometimes he was capable of bypassing that and other times he wasn't.
|6. Enchanter - Style
Jihoon and his ghosts focused more on manipulating his opponents minds than actually trying to hurt them physically, he also manipulated people's minds whenever he purely wanted to mess with them. After a while they became far more proficient at doing it, people soon began to no longer notice it was he that was creating chaos in the area. He can send his ghosts deeper into the minds of his victims, easier and with more effects to their psyche. His ghosts also noticed that it required less of Jihoon's chakra to manipulate people, unfortunately this also made focus more necessary for him, he was far more susceptible to damage than before, and while it was definitely a negative it could be balanced into his favor other ways.
7. Jutsu Mastery
Jihoon was never quite in control of his chakra, he had no formal training in its manipulation. The ghosts, however, were capable of using their own chakra in their time of being alive, and while they were unsuccessful in teaching him their methods, an alternative was found. Whenever he used his chakra he would utilize the ghosts as extensions, this didn't add anything to his abilities or add extra chakra, but they were able to make sure his expenditures were stable and controlled, that way he would not have to do it himself. With multiple ghosts that once knew how to control their chakra they were able to manipulate his to function the most effectively. This wasn't quite like possession, he was control of his will, in fact, he had more control over their will than they had over his.
8. Jutsu Creator
There was something that the ghosts had been practicing below Jihoon's notice, wanting to surprise him, but it was a risky and taxing special ability. The ghosts introduced the idea of combing their souls together and manipulating minds in a stronger manner, and it became a useful ability for him. However, the risk is that souls could not be later split apart, their spirits and consciousness combining into one and staying that way forever, though it held no meaning to Jihoon, it was like meeting a new friend and that was always fun. Besides, it wasn't like he couldn't collect more souls to use this way, and while some of the ghosts became apprehensive, he had full control over them when their souls were linked to his.
9. Hyperactive
Jihoon, like many "children" his age, was full of vast, uncontrolled energy and were able to tire themselves out, only to rebound quickly. Older people felt their energy deplete faster and it took longer for their stamina to return, they would always tell Jihoon how envious they were about his ability to stay active. He was always curious, dashing from one place to another when he still lived in his village, his energy was almost never depleted, and being stuck at that young age, possibly forever he always had energy to spare, and he would always regain some energy even without resting.
10. Stalker
Much like his need to dodge attacks there were times when he needed to make sure he can hide. Ninja stuck to the shadows, it was in their nature, and while he wasn't a ninja he became an excellent player at hide and seek. If he was against someone who he really didn't want to get hit by, he would hide and occasionally sneak an attack out to hit the opponent, but he would do it in a way that only confused the opponent more because they would be unable to tell where it came from. He was really good at being a prankster.
11. Healing Factor
Jihoon had already been near death before, in fact he isn't completely human anymore, he is like his ghosts more than he is like other humans. Due to his predicament he wasn't able to get hurt easily anymore. He wasn't particularly durable but damage dealt to him began healing immediately, not completely but it would started every 10 seconds and would continuously happen. Sometimes he could even ask his ghosts for additional help, causing his his healing to take a massive jump. Finally whenever he asked his ghosts to provide healing services on him their healing always felt somewhat stronger than when he used them on the people in his village, before he killed them of course.

Actually, ignore 10. Stalker, replacing with

10. Willpower
Because his ghosts were linked to him they would, often times, fall into the same mind tricks that he himself was suffering from. This came as quite the irritation, but sometimes there would be a few ghosts that could discern reality from the lies. This doesn't mean they would be able to automatically dispel the genjutsu, but if they tried their hardest to convince Jihoon and the other ghosts in his possession he would be able to dispel it easier. Even stronger genjutsu were no match for the power behind dozens of ghostly apparitions. Sometimes he didn't even need to know his mind was being manipulated, but his ghosts always practiced caution and would make sure to cleanse his brain of outside forces periodically.
