Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Akkuma stood approximately a hundred feet away from the Dojo entrance awaiting his son. Today he was going to test the combat skills of his new kin and determine what training he would need. Akkuma stood in fine Samurai Garbs, with the Miroku Clan sigil worked into it. The lotus flower with the kanji for cursed within it that encompassed that of the Toraono. He wore no shoes and carried by his side his scythe. One he had forged when he'd had access to the confines of Hell itself, it's combat properties were particularly useful to him.

Beside the Demon Sage stood a weapons rack that contained various weapons, some including those of the explosive nature. Beside the rack half buried in sand stood a large gourd full of sake. Soon Riyota would face his test, Akkuma hoped he would succeed if not he'd just have to train him harder. The desert sun roared above them indeed most people would say it was an extremely hot day. But not Akkuma he loved the heat somehow it always felt good even the times when it had been so hot that it hurt as well. He'd often wondered if it was the demon in his genetics that made him so.

'Surely he will be here before I have to start hitting the gourd. Otherwise I definitely won't have enough to get me through this fight.' he thought to himself with a smile now Riyota would face one of the many tests his father would give him. Testing his abilities ensuring he grew up to be one of the most Legendary shinobi was now on his agenda.

Soon the battle would begin...

Riyota waited, watching the man who had just recently become his father. The man who had invited him here for a training exercise. The boy was desperate to impress him, and was sure a sneak attack would help him at least get a small advantage over the other. Therefore Riyota waited, hood drawn to cover his face. Attempting to gain some sort of fearsome presence. At the moment it was the best he could muster. Deciding not to keep his Father waiting any longer, he sprinted forwards as fast as he could go, aiming to take the man's legs out from under him. If he could manage it then maybe he could equip himself and maintain the advantage. It all relied on whether he managed to take out the leg.

Akkuma's sixth sense warned him of his sons approach although he didn't dodge until the last minute flipping over Riyota but leaving his Scythe behind. "Nicely done. A good sneak attack is always valuable. Although your first lesson is this, demons tend to have a sixth sense if you will. Step within approximately twenty feet and they'll sense you immediately." he said in a warm tone as he slid his foot back and taking a defensive stance.

"Let us see what skill you possess Riyota. Don't hold back on me." he said in a serious tone before making a bring it on gesture. Today he would see if Riyota still possessed that same fire now he had found a family or if it burned brighter than ever. "Did I mention that should you pass this test I might consider passing on my knowledge of demons to you. Trust me people would kill to know what I do. he said with a small smile, if that wasn't inspiration he didn't know what was.

Riyota skidded under Akkuma as his attempt at a sneak attack failed. Which the man soon explained was not really the boy's fault. Riyota nodded along as Akkuma praised him, taught him, and then presented incentive. Just before his father finished speaking Riyota used his foot to kick the discarded scythe up into his hand. Charging forward once more with the same determination, he would take a few swings at Akkuma, before swiping up sand to cover himself, quickly circling around the back of his Father in an attempt to throw off his centre of gravity by delivering a powerful kick to his core.

The Sixth Sense Akkuma possessed certainly put Riyota at a disadvantage, but Riyota liked to think he had a few trump cards up his sleeve. He would easily be able to take a lot of any punishment Akkuma gave him, as his ability to heal was extremely rapid. However for the time being Riyota would wait, if any of his strikes had hit, he would kick of the wall for an aerial attack. IF they hadn't, then he would simply have to adapt to whatever happened next.

Akkuma smiled as his son grabbed the scythe charging at him, smiling the demon moved out of the way striking the pole of the scythe. Deflecting the strike he chuckled quickly stepping out of harms way with ease dodging each swipe. Next he saw Riyota kick up some sand messing with his vision he worried for a moment that he'd been caught so easily off guard. When he vanished leaving a Kawarmi Target in his place he stood about six feet away from the little sand cloud. As the wooden substitution flew out from a hit that was meant for him.

"Well done when facing someone with superior combat prowess you have to fight smart. Now you've made me use my substitution in the first round. Time for your next lesson in shinobi combat." with a flurry of hand seals ten corpses rose up from the ground around them. "Jutsu are almost limitless they will be your greatest asset, allow you to create allies out of dirt, conjure the dead, summon other worldly beings, master the elements, deal destruction on an immeasurable scale, bend the minds of your enemies and heal your wounds. Their are three things that are crucial to jutsu chakra, knowledge and skill. Focus yourself on these aspects and you will become a being more fearsome than nature itself. Your objective is this get past the corpses and hit me. I won't move from this spot." he said with that devilish grin upon his face. Granted his corpses were no worry for someone of his skill. But to Riyota they could pose a serious threat in such a large number.

Although the demon sage didn't doubt his sons abilities he wondered if he'd be able to formulate a strategy to succeed. This would be a test of his agility and cunning what would he do to get past the obstacles to reach his target? A challenge that met ninja all too often fortunately they had many tools at their disposal.

The man was posting a difficult challenge, trying to push Riyota's limits, but the boy was eager to prove his strength, and was determined to meet all of the challenges in front of him. Closing his eyes and taking a breath, mentally preparing himself for what needed to come next. He dug his fingers into the sand beneath him as the gaia seal worked it's way up his body. The corpses encroached on his position, but with a clenched fist into the ground he sent out a shockwave which sent them all flying back towards their master. Can't keep this up for long...have to stay in control. the boy gritted his teeth as he darted forward, delivering a punch to the centre-most Zombie, his fist ripping a hole straight through the unholy summon and causing it to disintegrate. Swiftly De-activating the seal before he lost grip of his sanity, Riyota stopped a moment to catch his breath.

As the other two of Akkuma's minions closed in on him, his hands gripping a spool of Ninja wire and unraveling it. Time seemed to slow for Riyota as he mulled over the risky maneuver It's dangerous, but I need to move faster than he can react. his face scrunched up as the astral seal worked his way up his body. He kicked off the ground and moved with lightning speed, moving around the first corpse, Akkuma, second corpse, first corpse, Akkuma. Repeating this until there was enough Ninja wire around all of them for him to yank it and pull them all together. As the dust from that attack cleared and Riyota knelt to regain his breath after deactivating the seal. Only time would tell if the attack succeeded.

Riyota's attacks and strategic thinking impressed the demon sage greatly. Making quick work of the zombies (no small feat for someone of Riyota's rank), using his seals and the strength they gave him with great prowess. As his son continued the blindingly fast assault he laughed maniacally. Akkuma saw his son growing into one of the greatest shinobi to live, should he continue taking his training so seriously.

Raising his arms up he'd applaud as Riyota pulled upon his trap ensuring the demon sage with his zombies. A loud chuckle emanated from the demon "Well done son you've done incredibly well." he'd say in a proud warm tone, with a quick flex the ninja wire snapped falling to the ground. "Granted I doubt your target will just remain idle. This was a test of wits and agility. Could you get passed the obstacles before you to reach your target? I'm happy to say you've passed many your age would have failed miserably. It seems I might have to increase the intensity of your training..." he'd say with an appraising look. 'It seems he is advancing at a phenomenal rate, it seems we might be able to push this forward now. he thought to himself with that devilishly shark-like grin upon his face.

"Soon we will be undergoing an important task, it please me greatly that you might be able to come along with me." he'd say in a warm tone walking over towards his large sake gourd. Removing the lid he poured what could only be described as a dangerous amount of liquor down his throat. If Riyota began to speak he'd raise a hand with one finger, letting the boy to be silent. Placing the gourd down and putting the cork back in the stopper he would wipe his face. "You'll know what it is soon enough, for now let's continue focusing on your training." he'd say with a devilish grin. What did the demon have planned? One thing was certain Riyota's day was only getting started.

Although Riyota was still in the process of letting himself recover he couldn't help but grin smugly at Akkuma's praise. The smile only faded slightly when he saw Akkuma easily snap the snare, then again, he hadn't used a lot of wire. Riyota saw his father walk past him, not only praising him but continuing to teach him more, telling him that his strategy would have to adapt for a moving target. When Akkuma told him the intensity of his training would need to be increased, the boy could barely contain his pride and excitement.

The boy grew curious however, when the demon sage told him of some sort of 'important mission' he would be accompanying the man on. When he opened his mouth to inquire about what it was the man was foreshadowing. A raised finger swiftly shut him up. He didn't even bother to comment on the amount of alcohol his father was consuming. He sat there, silently as the man drank. Until eventually the gourd was corked, and Riyota was informed his training would now continue.

"I need you to understand something son. When we go on this mission failure is not an option. I'm going to educate you on many subjects such as diplomacy, espionage, subterfuge, combat tactics and general lore...just to name a few." he'd say laughing knowing Riyota would undoubtedly not like a few of the subjects. Deciding he would demonstrate a few handy jutsu to his son. "Firstly it's always handy to be capable of evening the odds or outnumbering your foes. Clones are ok...but I personally preform summons." as he finished speaking he ran through the necessary handseals, biting his thumb he summoned Bikou a 40ft tall polar bear. The giant being starred down at them both "Bikou I apologise if you were busy, I'm demonstrating to my son how summoning works. That's all for now." he said warmly with a final handseal he sent Bikou back.

Running through another series of handseals he summoned something completely different this was another S-Class ninja who was Nara. One who had been a former member of their clan. Snapping his fingers the perfectly re-animated ninja sighed as shadows spread outward from him with spear-like tips. With a single seal Akkuma dispersed his old comrade. "There battle capabilities are usually more efficient then clones as well. Any questions? he would ask his son, no doubt he had many questions.

Riyota nodded along as he was told the number of new things he was required to learn, though it was difficult to keep track, there were so many. Ok...so...diplomacy, espifuge, subternage, Combat Lore and General Tactics...wait that doesn't sound right. he thought to himself. However he didn't get much time to think about that before his Father drew his attention to yet another subject. The boy witnessed the man do a strange ritual with his hands, which included drawing blood. "Uh...couldn't you have just used a Kuna-..." Riyota was cut off as a giant hulking bear suddenly appeared in the smoke in front of him, before being dismissed by Akkuma. Before Riyota even had a chance to let out a word the man was performing more handseals. This time summoning a different man...who didn't look all too healthy in Riyota's opinion.

As his Father taught him about the usefulness of summons Riyota raised his hand to ask the Demon Lord a question. "When do we start on the cool stuff like that?" he smirked, desperately hoping that the answer was 'Right now.'

Akkuma was amused by Riyota's first question even though he didn't quite finish it off. "I'm assuming you were going to ask why I didn't use a kunai? Simple it would have taken longer to perform, in combat every second counts. Never forget that son it's a lesson that could save your life one day." he'd say in a warm tone when Riyota asked him when he could start to learn things like the Summoning jutsu.

"The day you pass your Genin exam I will try to teach you the jutsu. Then we shall see if you are worthy of earning the right to wield one of my contracts. As for summoning the undead...I'm afraid it will be quite some time yet before your capable of going down that path. Though I sense your heading in a down a different path. For now we'll have a break, we can discuss your future." he would say to his son picking up the sake gourd and taking another swig. Wiping away the sake he would place the gourd down before sitting down on the sand. The sun bore down on them intensely yet it seemed their break was going to be had in the desert sun.

"Even while resting you can train.." as he spoke he focused on his chakra moving it around his body until it became a tangible energy. The mixed hues of dark green and purple moved around the sage. "Chakra control is essential for any good ninja and it is something that you can work on at most times." he would say ending the little demonstration before continuing to ask Riyota something. "So what kind of shinobi would you like to be Riyota? What path do you believe you'll take in this village? The life of a Main branch ninja? Perhaps the Medical Branch is something you desire? Maybe you want to become a shadow and desire the techniques given to them? I'll never know unless you tell me, I need to know what path you wish to take so I know what to teach you." his voice was warm and in this moment Akkuma was being quite fatherly. It seemed he was doing his best to be a good father for Riyota.

"To be honest...I've never really given much thought to the future." Riyota sat down next to his Father and scratched his head a little bit. He had been sure to mentally note down as much as he could of the things Akkuma had taught him as he could. As he saw the man's chakra form around him he lifted up his sleeve to check the marks that had been burned on his skin the last time he had tried to use chakra. His internal energy was so wild and frenzied that any attempt to channel it anywhere in his body had wound up with it lashing out and searing his flesh.

"M-maybe...we could leave Chakra control until later?" the boy suggested, quickly re-covering his arm. "I mean there's a whole bunch of stuff to get through, I'm sure Chakra control can't be the MOST important of them." he hoped the man would agree with him.

Smiling at his sons words Akkuma spoke "Perhaps you are wiser then you look. Don't spend time worrying on the unforeseen future. Focus on the here and now." he would say in a warm tone although his eyes quickly focused on the burns that had seared his sons flesh. "Ah....so that is why." he would say quietly leaning over and grabbing his sons arm. Moving his sleeve up to once more look at the seared flesh he would make a small sound of disapproval. "Tsk...you do know that if you don't Master these seals they will end up twisting you and making you a servant of they bestow." he would say quietly he held his son in a warm gaze before continuing "I don't want you to keep such things from me..." he would say with a slightly disappointed look upon his face.

'Doesn't he know if he doesn't get this under control soon the damage to his chakra system will be done...actually I suppose he doesn't this village doesn't seem like the type to inform it's youth about curse seals and how they work.' he thought to himself with a twinge of annoyance. If these military villages actually trained their youth they way they should be he wouldn't be in this position of worrying about Riyota. "Alright we shall leave the chakra control for today, although it is one of the most important aspects that you should get under control. But we can leave that for another day...Riyota have you ever met or encountered two of your fellow Sunans by the name of Surutemeni & Kagari? I intend on having the three of you be my special little Sunan squad. That's why I need you stronger and possessing a decent mastery. We can't have you making the clan look bad should the seals take control and you lash out at your friends. Do you understand? Understand why Chakra Control is important now?" he would ask his son hoping that he understood where he was coming from.

Riyota's eyes widened as his father grabbed his arm and once again and examined the scarred flesh. "I...I know, but it takes nearly everything I have just to keep them under control, not being overwhelmed is a conscious action for me." his father scolded him about attempting to keep the secret "I...just...didn't want you to think I was weak." eventually they moved off their grim conversation and Akkuma asked if he had met Suru and Kagari before. To this Riyota gave a quick nod. The boy wanted to ask what the Demon Sage meant about a 'Special Sunan squad' but assumed he wouldn't get the answer until the man truly wanted to tell him. He nodded again when the man asked if he understood where he was coming from. "Y-yes sir!" the boy responded, looking around before asking "So...uh...what's next?"

Akkuma sat there listening to Riyota's responses until his son asked what was next, he was deep in thought before revealing a large grin. "Don't be foolish how could I think you weak? You've chosen to be the son of a demon & you are one of the most capable shinobi of your age that I have seen. Never underestimate yourself, believe in yourself no matter what. If you don't believe in yourself how can you expect others too?" he would ask his son in a warm tone the usual malice was non existent in the demons eyes as he sat there conversing with Riyota.

Leaning back he looked out at the vast desert before them "Humans out of all the beings I've encountered have immeasurable potential, the only thing that holds them back is themselves." he would say with a smile before looking at his son once more. Before deciding he should tell him more about who he was.

"Next I think I'll tell you a bit about your new father. The training will be trying to stay awake I'm sure." he would say with a small smile, his eyes gained the look of someone who was remembering a time long past. "My mother was a Mist woman who fell victim to my father...Miroku. A being that has prayed upon humanity for eons..when she saw what I was she decided she didn't want me as her child. One of the Anbu who had been on the case raised me as his own, he was the one who made me want to make this world a better place. Telling me I would be able to achieve this goal if I became a shinobi, with my natural talents surely I would be able to achieve this.." he said in a warm tone before his eyes gained that once terrifying malice to their gaze.

"Miroku didn't like the idea of a human raising his son so he possessed him and made him attempt to kill me. My instincts kicked in and well I'm sure you know what happened. In one fell swoop my world had ended or so it seemed." he would say reaching over to grab the sake gourd he would take a deep gulp of the liquor before sighing. Placing the stopper in the bottle he once more began to reveal more about his past. "I started running 'errands' for the local criminal organisations until I earned enough money to begin my Academy training. Before long I was made Genin and inducted into the Anbu Training Program." he would say in a once more warm tone, their was a happiness that seemed to emanate from him even his aura wasn't as malevolent as usual.

"It didn't take long for me to start my own clan building it into a prosperous, thriving family. Before long our clan had its own small island and I was a fully fledged Anbu. No small feat for a thirteen year old, even back in Mizugakure. I spent a few years systematically wiping out the criminal and demon population of Mist. At least those that wouldn't co-operate, I approached the Mizukage about giving me access to old classified Research that had been seized. Telling her that I believed we could put this knowledge to great use for the village." he stopped this time his tone and it was almost one of warning. He hoped his son would understand why he was telling him this particular part of his past.

"It didn't take long for me to realise that I could turn myself into a true monster. One that all beings alike could not simply ignore, just like that I gained an insight that is indescribable. But at the same time I changed who I was forever. I have only a few interests now...family & achieving the goal. The purpose of everything..." he would say with a wide grin pausing for dramatic effect.

"To Make Humanity Strong once more and I see only one way to do that. I shall usher in a new age of monsters like the ones from the Eldrich days. The shinobi back then were on another level. I hope to once again revive that golden age." he would say deciding he had given Riyota enough to think about for one day. Hopefully has son had gained a bit more insight into the being that his father was. Now he would wait and see if Riyota had anything to say or ask before he informed him their session was over for now.

Riyota took in everything the man was telling him, nodding along so the Demon Sage knew he was still listening, after the man had finished speaking, the boy said "Wow...that really puts things into persp...Perspec-...That really puts things into a different view. Man, and I thought I had a tragic backstory." he chuckled, trying to bring some lightheartedness back to the dark conversation. He hoped Akkuma would laugh as well, as to not let the situation grow awkward.

Riyota's mind suddenly fell onto thoughts of his own past, and his eyes widened slightly as he looked down at the ground. 'What am I doing? he thought, 'They left me...almost two months ago...and I haven't even bothered to look for them...' the boy took a breath and asked the man next to him. "This...This mission? That I'm going to be undertaking...it's outside the village right?" he asked, when the Demon gave his answer Riyota would continue by asking. "While we're out there...I want to find out what happened...to my old parents..." he told the man, after he had let it sink in he changed the subject.
"Father...what are you afraid of?

The demon sage would chuckle "Haha my point is son that no matter how grim things look we are the masters of our own fate, all we require is the conviction to follow our dreams." he would say warmly though he got the feeling that something else was bothering Riyota. Hoping the boy would let him know what it was but the demon wouldn't push him. When asked what the mission was he would smile that shark-like grin "We are going to be waging war against a powerful foe, but we can discuss that further another time. In a more secure location." he would say giving his son a warm grin, hopefully Riyota would understand that he couldn't elaborate just yet.

"Yes it is indeed outside the village..." he would say waiting to hear why his son wanted to know this even though he had a pretty strong idea of why. Sure enough his instincts proved to be right. "I give you my word Riyota we will look for your parents & find out what happened to them." he would say with that warm grin on his face, part of him worried that he might lose Riyota to his real family. Though if that happened he would still watch over the boy for he was his father and that was his duty.

Akkuma would not hold Riyota back from finding his family, in fact he was surprised it had taken this long for Riyota to ask him. Perhaps his son didn't know how the demon would react or what his thoughts on the matter would be. "No matter what happens Riyota I will give you my full support." his way of saying if they found his sons parents should he wish to live with them the demon would not hold it against him. Who knew perhaps they would opt to join the clan with their son he was not quite sure. Yet another thing that he had to look forward to, for it would be very interesting to see what unfolded.

He smiled gratefully at his Father, but couldn't help but notice the fact that the man seemed to have avoided his question, perhaps he was trying to avoid looking weak in front of the boy, or perhaps he had just not heard him. It didn't really matter, the question wasn't really important enough to repeat. The boy shook his head free of all those dreary thoughts and sprang to his feet. "Well, we'd best get all the boring stuff out of the way, so what's next on the list of things to do?"

Standing up Akkuma looked down at his son "That is all for now...I have to go prepare for your next training session. You did well today get ready the next training session will be on another level, this was merely for me to see what we needed to work on." he said in a warm tone with clap of his hands hooded clan members proceeded out to pack up the weapon racks.

"I'll see you at dinner tonight Riyota." he said to the young ninja before dashing into the dojo he had many preparations to make and so little time. He had to ensure that Riyota would be safe on this mission he wouldn't risk his sons life. Before long he would be training his son once more ensuring he could master himself. Without doing so those seals would devour him, he had a tome devoted to this type of training somewhere he just had to find it.
