Kahako’s eyebrow rose at the mention of a mission already on his first day, but to hear it wasn’t surprising. The most promising mednin in their branch, plus Daisuke’s student. If anything, the members of the division were ready to test him the moment they heard he was joining. "Both actually. Was told to hit the iron one last time for the road. Was also told that the lovely Kahako was training as well. So, here I am! To not only train, but assist you with your boredom through conversation."
Kahako laughed lightly at the comment. It was rare for such a jingle to fill the room.
“Careful, Tsuyoshi-kun. Acquire any more silver on your tongue and humanity will have to create a better word for swoon.” She hopped on the machine, immediately ramping it up to a steady jog.
“But I do appreciate the company. Any reservations about the ANBU you’ll be working with? Excited?” She grinned, getting straight to the point. There was always a moment when finesse and casual chatter, but like Junko said, this was his last time meeting her before he left for who knew how long. Might as well get the important points out of the way.
However his answer would wait, as they were graced with another presence. “Ahh! my sincerest apologies…” he said just as Kahako turned to see the stranger. “I was merely taking a look around sorry for inter…” Dressed in surprisingly common clothing, the man stared at her. Normally, she would have found the eyes odd, but she caught the specific points where his eyes zoned in. Additionally, his stare was not lude. If there were any nasty thoughts behind it, he hid it well.
“It is perfectly fine.” she said, turning down the machine after only a few short minutes to properly speak to the man.
“This area is open to all shinobi and patients, not just the staff of the hospital.” Unsure if he even was a shinobi himself she added,
“I only ask that you remain out of areas that are for authorized personnel only.”
Snapping out of his ogle-not-ogle, he bowed apologetically again. “My…my apologizes. A man should not stare at a woman such as I have. Please forgive my intrusion again. If it’s not too personal I just wanted to inspect some of the equipment…I will not be in your way.”
A smile crossed her face again. For someone who looked older than her, the man was certainly… bishounen…
“It is fine, most of the time people see me in my jacket and scarf. It is understandable why you would be taken aback.” Fortunately the mill was a quiet machine. When she started it up again, it did not drown out noise like the other machines did.
“Like I said, this area is open to almost anyone. I am Shinrya Kahako should you have any questions. My colleague here is Tsuyoshi Junko.” She nodded in Junko’s direction before letting the man move return to his inspecting.
This created a dilemma for Kahako, however. She did not know this man, and though he seemed quite harmless, there was a level of discrepancy when it came to talking to Junko about his upcoming mission. ‘A Matter of National Security’ type of level. That conversation would have to wait until a later time it seemed.
“When will you be leaving?” Kahako asked softly instead as she kept an eye on the man behind her. She used the mirrors on the walls to keep a close eye on his actions. Keeping her jogging stance relaxed while she remained alert to his presence. There had been one too many explosions in the hospital as of late, and she would like to avoid anymore attempted assassinations on anyone today.
