Three years of work. Three years of watching his baby come life right in front of his eyes. The hospital was done. Finally, Hissori had his place of work. Ii Hissori had watched the clinic which he had been put in charge of three years prior by the former head of the shaman’s Keita be torn down and replaced by a construction site. He had been there when he had to deal with the fall out of the students nearly killing the old lady, and he had met with the two teenagers whose legs had been crushed while making laying the foundation. He had been there and overseen it all with a semi-distant eye. Now finally, Hissori could do his own personal inspection.
Starting for the bottom basement, Hissori and Buru enjoyed the quietness of the Library. This would be the resting place of all the knowledge of Kirigakure. All of the information that Hissori had been able to rescue from his old hospital, and research center now rested in the basement of the new hospital. It was at this Hissori had to pause. This would always be a solemn remainer of his old home, and he hoped that it would be a place that would teach the youth of this village on how to save lives. Walking along the isles of books, Hissori ran his hand along the large dark oak reading tables. With a quick look into the morgue Hissori felt the cold air of death. Everything seemed fine in the morgue as Hissori began his way upstairs.
During his walk into the first floor, Hissori began to think about some dark questions, who would be the first person to die in the hospital, and who would be the first medic to cause a death? All of these questions circulated in his head as he moved from the front desk to the cafeteria. Checking the cafeteria and seeing that it was all set up for the guests that they would have for revealing ceremony tomorrow, Hissori was pleased and went to check the “religious room” which he had specially installed with the help of the shamans of the village.
Quietly, he made his way up to the second floor. His green eyes would again peak into each exam room to see that they were stocked with all the swabs, gauzes bandages, and syringes. In each room was newly furnished examinations beds. Hissori had picked these out because if a person was in pain, they needed a good place to sit and be looked at. Exhaling he went to see the two rooms which he hoped would be the most used rooms. These were the two education rooms and smiled as he saw them set up just the way he wanted. Soon he hoped to see and hear the excited voices of young medical trainee’s taking enjoyment of their learning.
To check the elevator’s worked, Hissori would take the evelator up onto the next floor. This floor was the floor that Hissori had fought for. The operation floor was filled with state of the art equipment that Hissori had already trained some choice experts how to use. Each sterile operation room was filled with top of the line surgical equipment gathered from around the world. Hundreds, if not thousands of lives would be saved in this floor of the hospital and that was something the medical chief could be proud of. He would take the other elevator up onto the next floor to see the inpatients room.
This floor for Hissori was a place where he knew the healing would happen. Each room was fitted with top of the line beds, and entertainment systems to match the amount of beds in the room. From Hissori’s research and personal experience, Hissori had seen that people who were happy healed quicker and had a lower chance of complications. It was a floor in his hospital that he hoped would see a great amount of joy throughout the hospital, and lead to happier lives outside of it.
Finally, Hissori made his way up to the fifth floor of the hospital. To Hissori this was his brain child. It was something he never had seen before, and something he hoped would drive interaction. Overseeing all of this place, Hissori own office was set up, and his research center already filled with his work. It was his final stop.
Moving into his office, he sighed a bit. He felt safe here, and more important it felt like home. Walking around to his desk he collapsed in the seat next behind his desk. Already, his desk was filled with paper work, but it was something that Hissori was looking forward too.
“We are home, boy.” Hissori said to Buru as he rubbed his head before starting to work on the paper work. Tomorrow was important, and he was going to make sure that everything went smoothly for the opening of the hospital.
