Name: Raijin
Age: 35
Rank: Special Jounin/Kage Guard
Personality: The shinobi is a man of few words. Generally described as reserved in almost all situations. After a lifetime of training to serve as a bodyguard, he has developed small levels of disdain for most other shinobi.Which generally surfaces when anyone moves their attention from his charge to himself. He is not afraid to speak his mind and what comes out is never kind or forgiving. A lifetime of dealing with the shinobi world has worn him down to this point. But despite this, he carries a strong loyalty to both Suna and those who are elevated to the position of Kazekage. It is his heritage.
Physical Description: He stands at 7'4" and has blond hair that was once nearly golden. But a long lifetime working as a shinobi body guard has left him stressed and with hair several shades duller than in his youth. His face is fairly proportional and seems to adhere to the 'default' structure, which makes him an okay looking man. Across his face are several scars, one over his right eye, one across his nose, several on his cheeks and neck, along with many others on the rest of his body.
He wears militant styled boots and tight fitting tan pants with several pockets. His top is a simple black tanktop. Being primarily a physical combatant, he is in great shape (especially given his age). No weapons are ever clearly visible, but he is never without something at hand.
History: Raijin's life began pretty much like the other children of his village and time. Being young was joyous, only to be interrupted by the training of their beloved academy. Upon graduation, Raijin was told his skills and outlook would be best utilized as a bodyguard. At the ripe old age of 12, he took this advice very seriously. From that point forward, he trained relentlessly to accomplish this task. And as time crawled forward he watched as peers were cut down in the name of Wind Country. He witnessed his own body ravaged by both time and men.
It was a cold time. A lonesome time. But sometime in his mid twenties, he was given his first task to guard a lesser noble. Being his first true assignment as a bodyguard, he wanted to do his best and prove his worth above all else. For a few years, things were calm and relatively boring. Until an assassination attempt on his charge led him into one of the most brutal fights of his life. At the end, he was successful. But at what cost? His charge had died from the stress of the fight. Had he succeeded for failed?
The village didn't seem to share his uncertainty. They awarded him the rank of Chuunin and congratulated him on a job well done.
But had it been? He should have been able to protect his charge.
From there he landed a couple odd jobs as a bodyguard but nothing stuck. When he defended an unnamed council-person during his 29th year, he was awarded the rank of Jounin without much hassle. And in addition to that, he was invited to dinners in the council hall, every so often.
At least he didn't have to endure, what he considered, another failure. With most of his peers dead, all his minor friends long since erased from the land, he continued on. Only to be given a task he thought would never appear. He was being re-assigned to guard someone of immense value. It was such an honor that he momentarily forgot his rough reputation he needed to maintain. He would be guarding, the Kazekage Steward. And to honor his lifetime given to guarding Sunagakure, he was elevated to the rank of Special Jounin. A prestigious honor only given to those who have spent the bulk of their life, making the village a safer place.
And he would not fail this assignment. He was sure of that.
