Character's Physical Description:
Standing at a height of 6'2", Raku is a skinny looking man with a rough exterior. His pale skin and little bit messy orange hair stood out, but even further, the eyepatch he wore just to restrict himself, not that anyone would know it. Under that hair and behind the patch were a pair of bright green eyes that appeared to be calm. The lanky figure gave way to a slightly slouching posture which diminished his height slightly. He usually wore pretty casual clothing such as a long sleeve shirt with a hood, and a t-shirt over top, complimented below by his casual cargo pants or whatever he felt like wearing that day. When out as a shinobi, he obviously put the proper gear above his usual clothing.
Character's Mental Description: A pretty standard young adult, sees a big world out there, and believes he is strong enough to survive. A little anti-social, but generally easy to get along with type of person. Is very prideful towards his home and the village he grew up in, but is able to keep his pride in check in order to reach bigger goals.
Character History: Born in the water country, Raku grew up wanting to be a Mist shinobi, as his parents wanted him to become, as they were before him. His early years were relatively quiet and ordinary, but started training as soon as he was able to. Being pushed by his father, he learned quite quickly at home, until he was old enough to attend the academy at the age of 6. The academy wasn't too hard, but it wasn't exactly a breeze either. Most children from around there were trained from a young age, so most of them had the same knowledge and skill as he did. More adept at Taijutsu, Raku had some issues with Ninjutsu at first, and more problems with Genjutsu, and was unable to pass his first Genin exam when the time rolled around. Even though it was hard on him to fail that first time, an even greater lesson was learned from the failure; hard work, training and unfaltering dedication would lead to success. Harder training followed, and the exam was passed with ease the next time, and Raku quickly was put into a team and began to do missions.
With each passing mission, he could tell he was getting stronger and better, but in order to do so as quickly as he was, he sacrificed a little bit of form, and his fighting style became a little more reckless all the time. In his free time, he trained hard, and did not hold back at all, even if he became injured due to over-exerting himself. Seeing what he was able to accomplish with this recklessness, he embraced it, and honed this ability of his, perfecting his own fighting style and using it to his advantage, as it was quite a strange way to fight. When the time came at the age of 14, he took the Chuunin exam, and with all the training and missions over the past few years, he was able to pass the Chuunin exam on his first attempt.
He continued to grow, as a Mist Chuunin, he did many missions, and much more training. Spending time working on his Recklessness in all the facets of his fighting style. Training his Taijutsu, and Ninjutsu; even his Genjutsu -- even if he was still not terribly good at it. His Father also helped, sparring and training with him as he helped push him further all the time. At the age of 17, he had killed a man for the first time. Sent on a mission with a team of Chuunin lead by a Jounin, it was a pretty regular mission, escorting an important shipment to a village; when they were ambushed by a random group of unknown shinobi. Fighting for his life, and as recklessly as possible, Raku had killed one of the 5 men who had attacked them, as did a few other members of the team, but one unknown managed to escape in the midst of battle. At first, he was unsure how to feel. Feeling like he should be sad, but not truly feeling that way confused him, but it only fed his reckless habits more, as he realized how much he enjoyed fighting and protecting his village from those who threatened it. Any chance he got, he signed up for dangerous protection missions. The more he did, the easier it got, and the more challenge he wanted, so he quickly fell to the idea of wearing an eye-patch to hinder his sense of sight a little, and challenge him, but of course he was able to overcome it with much practice and training, and it just sort of grew on him as a permanent fixture of his outfit, only taking it off to get completely serious.
Once he turned 19, he entered the Jounin exam in the Mist, and trained harder than normal for months before it happened. It was a grueling and rigorous exam involving a difficult test and a secret mission for the Chuunin participating, but not much is told about it, as to keep the exam answers and procedures a secret from the lower shinobi. After passing this exam, things were pretty normal for quite a while. The regular training, and missions continued as he sought to improve himself.
That was until the fall of Mist. A lot had happened in the village, and Mist became uninhabitable by it's people. As this happened, Raku was separated from his parents, and never seen them there-after; the only logical conclusion being that they died in the downfall. Some Shinobi left and became Mercenaries, while others moved on to other villages. Raku was on such Shinobi, as he sought refuge in the Lightning Country after crossing the waters from Mist to get there. Raku was a very loyal Mist Nin, and to this day refuses to give up on the village, hoping to return one day, not that he would tell the Cloud Shinobi this, but he needed a place to stay, work, continue training, while still looking for ways to return Mist to it's former glory.
(Since I've been away so long, and I don't have access to the world history and story, I can't really fill in the whole history, especially regarding the fall of Mist and my entrance to Cloud, so I hope this is alright for now?)
