Rakutsu has always had a interest in elemental Jutsu over most other types of Jutsu. However, out of all the elemental ninjutsu he practiced it was fire release that came to him more naturally than the others. From what he understood everyone has to has at least one element affinity. Fire must have been his affinity than. Knowing this, he took off to the pond most days in order to practice his fire ninjutsu. There weren't many places that he could practice fire Jutsu without risking a fire spreading, but the pond was the opposite of this. It was actually an ideal place for training his fire ninjutsu.
Strategist
Being a shinobi meant more than just running around and hiding in places where no me could see you. A shinobi needed to be smart and also be able to get themselves out of a tight spot. Rakutsu understood this from the very beginning and got to work on improving his knowledge. He spent most of his days reading on the principles of different types of Jutsu as well as a few books on poison. He needed to know how to approach a certain situation and what tools to approach the situation with. Maybe he was thinking too hard about all of this stuff, but it's better to be safe than sorry.
QuickDraw
One of the many things that caught his interest while training was the blade. With the addition of the katana into his arsenal, Rakutsu thought it was best to train he proficiency with the blade. He started by training his own drawing speed. There will be a time where drawing his weapon faster will save his life. He practiced this with a few logs of fire wood he bought. His speed wasn't very impressive st first, but after several days of training his speed increased dramatically. Rakutsu chopped the block of wood in a blink of a eye. The cut was so fast that he even surprised himself.
