Name: Ranna Satomi
Age: 9
Gender: Male
General Description: A young boy of nine years, Satomi is a generic youth of typical build. He has black hair and green eyes, and stands around 52 inches. He is a reserved child, quite shy compared to most other nine year old children around him, namely for his slight stammer which affects his speech when nervous. While not a truly impeding retardation to Satomi’s socialization, it has made him noticeably self-conscience about not just what he says, but his overall appearance and behavior. Through this, he is a generally polite child, giving proper respect to both his elders and peers, and will refrain of most explosions of anger or improper conduct. He dresses in generic, non-flashy clothing, and retains a modest appearance compared to many others his age. Despite his shy nature, however, he still very determined to becoming a ninja and will try his hardest to pursue such a goal.
History: Satomi derives from the Ranna family, to a jounin father and a non-ninja mother. The civil war which ensued during his birth saw his father out in the field constantly, leaving Satomi raised mostly by his mother and older, non-combatant family members. While many other young children in ninja families assisted in the war effort through menial tasks of sharpening blades and other chores, Satomi himself was mainly kept out in his young years, safeguarded by his mother who thought it unwise to show Satomi the deadly conflict which enveloped around them. His mother also tried to keep him from hearing about it from the other children, and therefore kept Satomi mostly within their own house or within the confines of her direct influence.
When Satomi barely turned 5, the news would come to his family of his father’s demise during the war, killed in action and his body left unrecovered. His mother, not wanting to break such horrid news to her son, kept it secret. However, Satomi soon found out after snooping upon his grandparents speaking, hearing the terrible news of his dead father through hushed words. Satomi was destroyed, a father which he barely knew now taken from him for good, now to never share any bond with him as a proper family. From that day on, added to his mother self-harming coddling from the outside world and his own stuttering, Satomi became hidden and alone, preferring his solitude as other children would play. He never became anathema to the other children, nor a laughing stock (though some children did mock him for his stammering speech), but instead became known as being shy. And through it all, Satomi silently swore to himself to live up to his father which he never knew, to become a ninja like him and make him proud wherever he might be.
