Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

Character's Physical Description: Uri has short cropped hair, with a few longer fringes to one side. He has equally red eyes that seem to lack any known emotion or expression most of the time. He has a pale complexion but not nearly deathly pale. He is often seen wearing a red coat with a parka or a red hooded jacket and a pair of white pants, and combat boots. He is of average height standing at roughly 182cm and of average build bordering to a slender figure. Unlike most of the other shinobis, who are more well-built and muscularly fit for battle, Uri may be muscle-toned but not to an excess that would otherwise betray his identity as a shinobi. He’s jut normal. When he goes into full combat, he usually zips up his coat or jacket which are finely made by a special chakra thread so that his innate flames do not burn when he uses his jutsu.

Character's Mental Description: Ever since he was a young child, he didn’t really expect much of life – that he would just become an ordinary citizen of Lightning Country, working at Port Cirrus and perhaps become a trader. Thus, he was rather passive and took life for granted. He did have a very protective tendency over his childhood, Chika, which started as his duty to protect her like an older brother, however, it eventually grew into something more romantically fueled. As such, he would devote a lot of his time for her and care for her greatly. She was the one who inspired him with regards to loyalty to the country and aspirations of a shinobi. Strange as it was, it was his only connection to the shinobi world, but he did become fascinated of it thanks to her, and at one point, shared her ideals. Tragically, her death became a different source of inspiration for him, one that prompted him to accept his fate as a potential shinobi. This incident is what drives him to attain strength in order to achieve her goal that could not be met. At the same time, it fostered a deep desire within him to become the best there is in order to prevent a similar tragedy to befall others.
Likes:
  • Jiang bing and okonomiyaki because they’re delicious and easy to make and he doesn’t fuss about having to eat proper meals.
  • Training and improving himself in order to rise up the ranks and become someone influential and important in the system.
  • Reading books because it gives his a sense of satisfaction that he’s expanding his base knowledge.
Dislikes:
  • Sleeping because he always dreams about the memory of his friend’s death which turns into a nightmare and puts him into a bad mood.
  • Thunder and lightning for an unknown reason, though while he fears it, his reaction is often aggression.
  • Shinobis that use their power and position for the wrong things.
  • The lack of discipline.
  • Turtles because he thinks they’re lazy and just strange.

Origin (and Core Ability RP WC: 586)
For as long as Uri could remember, he had been alone all his life. He was an orphan after his mother died at childbirth while the identity of his father was unknown. Some say he was a sailor from Port Cirrus who happened to meet his mother for a one-night stand. Others say he was a childhood friend of his mother’s that was lost to the sea during one tragic storm. He was raised in an orphanage but he never got along well with the other kids. That was because he had a different shade of hair, looking very much foreign, perhaps the only thing he inherited from his father. As he grew up, he made acquaintance of a girl named Chika, who would become his sole childhood friend. Being the older one, he naturally positioned himself as the older brother and looked out for her. However, she was special because she showed the ability to manipulate chakra and would soon start attending the shinobi academy. Nevertheless, she would always write to him and whenever she had time, would hang out with him, telling him of the world of shinobi. At first, he was disinterested with it, but then, as time grew, he became fond of her that he would delight in her stories and her dreams to become a pillar of Kumogakure.

Around fifteen years of age, tragedy strikes as he finds his friend Chika lifeless. The only memory of this night was a beast raging and destroying a part of the town they lived in. There were reinforcements from Kumogakure, however, things did not pan out properly. There was so much destruction and even Uri would have lost his life if the reinforcements didn’t intervene. However, by the end of it, he only saw Chika’s lifeless body and it sent an uncontrollable rage from within his heart. To see the only person who meant anything in his life die before his eyes sparked something from within that ended up surging into an uncontrollable power. At first, it felt like a burning desire to save her, but then the world began to burn through his vision. Wildfire threatened everything, but they were far from the normal flames as they sparked in blue flames converging all over the world around him. It didn’t dawn in him that he was the source of this raging flame for it hurt him so much inside his heart that he wanted nothing more than to burn away all the pain. Luckily, the shinobis in place were quick on their feet and he was stopped before another tragedy would come to pass.

After that night, Uri was taken into custody and his fate was under deliberation for this incident had seemingly awakened a dangerous power within him, and without prior training, he was seen more of a threat than anything else. At first, he would have gladly accepted any death sentence, but then he came to remember Chika’s words and thought that the only way to truly live up to her memories was to live in remembrance of her. As such, he pleaded if he would be given guidance instead, to be taught and trained as a shinobi and to take her place. It was the only way he could think of moving on, and of forgiving himself for his own lack of strength. But more importantly, it was the only thing he could think of that would enable him to come close to achieving her aspirations in her place.
Demon of the Blue Flames (also Kinjutsu RP at WC:1,948)
After much deliberation, Uri’s case would be accepted. With strict supervision, he was allowed to have a proper training into becoming a shinobi. Part of it was chakra manipulation for one problem of his awakened power was the surging amount of chakra didn’t seem to end at all. At one point, while they were trying to assess the extent of his chakra pulse, it came to the point that he would simply burn out until he loses consciousness before they could truly ascertain his limits. Because of this, the first part of his training involved having to increase his stamina and pit his endurance to harsh tests. There was no need to treat him as a child for his case was unusual, and he, himself, agreed that a faster way to get a hold of his power was for the better of all.

He would take harsh beatings, simply gritting his teeth and enduring all the way, but there would be times when he would also falter. Times when he would question his own conviction, sometimes even falling into despair for his current predicament. However, no matter how much he would want to give up, he never did. For every blood, sweat and tear, he knew that was nothing in comparison to losing one’s life, and Chika would never be returned to him. But to give up would simply give up on what she believed in and he wanted nothing more than to prove that her existence was not a mistake and that she should have lived. Thus, he would remind himself of her aspirations, of ignoring the risks and challenges as he strived to better himself.

One night, during a break of his training, when his muscles were sore beyond what he could have imagined, Uri found himself lying in the middle of the training grounds. It was hours after the lesson and he should have been in bed, but he wasn’t. In his attempt to rest, he found himself too restless to even slip away into a deep sleep. His body ached but it would seem a weakness if he ran to the infirmary for help. There was no bleeding, no cut or wound to treat. It was simply his body showing signs of his limitations. And that was to be expected of one still struggling to find his rhythm and balance in this world of power. And he knew one way to cure that– to train some more. So he went back to the training grounds and spent his energy, moving his muscles and limbs, pushing himself a little further, until finally, he dropped to the ground with a heaving chest. He was trying to catch his breath but every attempt felt like more air escaped his lungs than what entered. Perhaps he was truly dying, after a year of when it was supposed to be.

“Will you give up that easily?” A voiced asked him. He knew it well. It was a voice he had longed to hear for a long time. A voice he wished never ceased to exist. It was Chika, but he knew that it was just an illusion. It was probably a memory he never even knew he had and that this was a first sign of death, to recall the past. He smiled, though, as he thought on how much relief the voice gave him. It was almost as if the burning sensation across his arms were quickly disappearing.

“The Uri I know never gives up,” the voice said again, and this time he felt like a hand reached down to caress his cheeks and he closes his eyes. If death had the voice of Chika and the touch of Chika, then he really didn’t mind. Maybe it was Chika’s own way to tell him he could finally rest. But if it was to rest, then why did the voice seemed to challenge him.

“Uri, I know you blame yourself for everything, but it wasn’t your fault,” the voice said again, and this time he felt a tear escape the side of his eye, chilling the path across his cheek. He reached out a hand to touch his cheek, hopeful to catch the hand that seemed to press against him but there was nothing.

Then fear suddenly rose from within his heart as he bolted forward to catch her, only to find nothing but emptiness in the dark training grounds. He didn’t utter her name, but his soul was shouting loudly within him as he felt familiar sparks to erupt from his body. He looks down into his hand as blue flames began to resurface, the very same flames he had been training for a while now, but seemingly coming out of control now that he was weak. And yet, the flames merely surrounded him in a strange way that made it seemed it was waiting.

As Uri leaned closer, he saw the flames move away and begin to form a shape until it revealed a tall and slender figure of a woman. His voice was caught as he stared wide-eye at what was before him. Clearly in the form of a human, dressed in red armor yet seemingly having horns that burned in the same blue flame, this being looked back at him with a gentleness and deceptive charm as she held the same face as of Chika. At first, he was speechless, but then a strange anger came over Uri as he quickly stood up and attacked this being.

How dare this creature assume her face! Chika who was nothing of the monstrous sort. Chika who was the angel in his eyes, an innocent girl he’d protect with his life. And yet, as this figure avoided his strike, there was a sadness in her face and her eyes that seemed to long for his. But Uri kept attacking on and on until he finally fell to his knees, feeling the dryness of his throat as his body burned with the blue flames that kept on burning and his chakra leaving his person.

“Uri,” the creature said again making Uri look at it with surprise.

“Why do you have her face? Her voice? Her eyes?” He roared but there was something else in his face besides anger. It was fear and sadness, and then a bit of guilt.

Slowly, the creature walked forward until she stood before him and then knelt to embrace Uri. At that point, Uri couldn’t even resist if he wanted as the very act itself was something he had longed for. The blue flames from her body began to converge with Uri’s and blasted a blinding light that illuminated the entire training grounds before it receded to just converge around their bodies.

“Uri, you wished for her to live on, and on that night, she wished for you to survive, somehow, on the verge of dying, she willed me away from her soul to keep you safe,” she said, “She gave me a part of her soul, of her memories and of her prayer to keep you safe, so as she died, you survived that night when I entered your dying body.”

“Liar! You killed her!” He gripped tightly against the creature but he couldn’t move beyond that, not a push or pull. It was more as if he was scared to let go and so he held dearly and desperately to keep the creature close to him in that embrace, “You…”

“I am Chika’s will,” she said as the blue flames began to lessen and burn softy against their skin. “You can feel it too. Ever since that night you awakened to the blue flames. Your strong emotion was the catalyst, but the anger filled you up at the sight of her lifeless body that it turned me… her will… into an entity itself. Still, I honored her wish to protect you so I tried to hold back the power within you in order to keep you stable. However, you’ve grown stronger. To what extent, I don’t know. But I do know that I need to help ease the pain in your heart. Because you’re only hurting yourself in this process and nothing more.”

“No. I must become stronger. I must find out why she died and make sure it never happens again. I don’t care what happens to me. I will give her justice!”

“You hid this side of you all these years. If she knew how passionate you could be, things would have been different,” the creature said with a pained smile.

At that, Uri broke the embrace and held the creature’s hands, eyes determined. “I will be more than what she had thought. I owe it to her to make her dreams come true.”

Nodding, the creature reached up to hold Uri by the face and kiss his forehead as a sensation began to flow inside his body from where she kissed. “If this is your desire, then I will give you her will and my soul will be one with yours. Promise me, that when morning comes, you’ll never forget this night and the nights to come. Not the pains, sadness or joy. Not the deaths and the destruction. Promise me you’ll be able to attain her dreams and I will show you the strength of the blue flames.”

“I promise.”

There was an incident report of an outbreak of flames in the training grounds. His supervisor was ready for the worst – a need for an execution if he had gone out of control. And yet, when they arrived, they only saw Uri standing in the middle of the training grounds seemingly consumed by the blue flames, but the closer they looked, they saw that the flames were in actuality dancing around him, licks of small flames simply perched along his shoulders and fingertips but not threatening to burn the rest of the grounds. And when he looked back at his instructor, Uri had a different aura about him, almost as if he aged, that a certain loss was visible through his eyes, but he also looked calmer.

Following that incident, he would be registered as one who had the power of a demon inside him. It was dangerous, they categorized, seeing how the blue flames were far more potent than before, and how his chakra pulse was strangely different as if it was made of two separate entities and yet it flowed as one. More so, when Uri manifested his chakra pulse to create a transformation, one that brought the flames out and build upon a scale armor that wrapped his entire being, and only his face uncovered as if the blazing helmet opened for him to see or to be seen that he was still human inside. Fortunately, he did not lose any sense of control as he did so. Still, due to this development, he was further isolated and trained to specialize his power, and under the suggestion of his previous supervisor, would be mentored by one of the ANBU for safer measures. If successfully raised, he would become an asset to the village. However, if he failed, he would easily be dispatched.

“That will not happen,” said Uri to the man behind the ANBU mask that gave him the first and only warning about his fate. “I will not falter. I will become the man who stands next to the Raikage.”

“Don’t get ahead of yourself. The Raikage Guard is no easy position to fill.”

“My life was never easy, so I don’t think I’m looking forward to an easy path. But I will reach it.”

“Then show me or die trying.”

“Yes, sir.”

[WC: 1948]
Red Demon of the ANBU
Through the years under the strict mentorship and guidance of one of the ANBU captains, Uri grew past his insecurities and gained strength incomparable. His position as a jinchuuriki may have been part of the reason, but he was first and foremost, someone who didn’t give up, just as the demon inside him would always remind him of. Chika was her name, the very same Chika he was childhood friends with, for it was her will that resided and gave life to the demon that had saved him years ago. And with this he had nurtured the newfound power into his own.

Challenges were laid before him. Missions often did not come in easy sets. If not tracking and hunting down, it involved investigations and potential subterfuge. Like Chika’s warning, there had been many bloodshed and deaths, and often than not, he would have to act it out without having to bat an eye or leave trails of remorse. But like he promised the demon, he would remember each and everyone for only then would he be grounded to his original intention of rising through the ranks in order to honor Chika’s dreams. Though she may have aspired to be one of the pillars of Kumogakure, perhaps hailing from the Main Branch, Uri knew very well that his circumstances only allowed him to work within the shadows. It didn’t feel so bad. He was never one to try and get as much attention to himself in loud way. But he did want to be the person to stand next to the Raikage for that meant that he had reached the peak of her dreams that he now shared.

So each time when he felt like the missions got more difficult, when each death began to weigh a little heavier in his heart, he would lose himself into the comfort of his blue flames and remember the promise he had with Chika. Like a mantra, he would recite over and over until he could feel a sense of relief. After all, he had long cast aside his personal ambitions as he was now living for another’s. And it was this tenacity that he lived up to that always seemed to impress his mentor. But not completely flawless, Uri had his own shortcomings such as moments of flitting compassion. Nevertheless, he made sure to return from each mission without failure. Bleeding or losing a limb was not a problem. Failure was simply not an option he could take. And that was what made him both cold to others but also perfect for subterfuge.

Six years have passed since that night his life turned around. Six years since he had embraced the blue flames that continually burns within his soul. Six years since he had donned the red one mask with white horns. It was foreign-looking just like he was, and yet it seemed to fit perfectly like the rest of his blood-colored clothes and hair.
Karura of the Flame (Contract Rp WC: 2,829)
It was raining heavily during one of his missions. Uri, whose face was hidden well behind the red demon mask with white horns, sat perched in one of the alcoves of the cliff’s face. He was swallowed by the shadow of the night, not a problem for his red colored coat. He had been told off once that perhaps wearing a darker shade would allow him an easier way to stalk his prey. But he always would just engulf himself in complete shadow jutsu to help for cover, for he preferred to be different than the others to some extent. While he had conflicting feelings about standing out, he knew that he needed to be someone worth noting with the force so as to reach higher into the ladder of ranks. Besides, he had come to find that the way his red hair had often gotten mixed reactions from others made him decide that the sight of the color of blood was something striking and befitting for himself.

He flinched when lightning ran across the sky. He hated it. He hated thunder, too, for they often gave him an unwanted chill. When he was a child, he may have began shaking, fearing that the looming booming sound would find him and snuff the life out of him. But now, it was more of an irritant. Not to mention it induced a certain level of anger within him. After all, it was a similarly stormy night when he lost Chika. A loss will always linger even if he had already accepted her fate. And even if the demon had filled him inside with Chika’s will, there was still the knowledge of her loss that can never be truly replaced.

His thoughts return to the present as he spots his prey entering the gorge. It was brave of him to travel at night with just a few escorts. Perhaps he was confident that the cover of night would act as a protection from deterrents. Unfortunately, Uri thought, that was the least of his problems. Readying himself, he then drops from the alcove, and upon nearing his prey, covered himself in blue flames as it roared down and crashed into the party. At the wake of the destructive impact, Uri stood with tongues of blue flame licking at his coat. He searched the grounds as he found the escorts dead, but the main target was not there. When he caught sight of a body with the cloak of the target, he approached it, only to be disappointed as he saw that it was a decoy – a different face.

In that instance, he felt a spike of chakra pulse coming in fast towards him. He only had enough time to envelop himself in his blue flames before an explosion occurred. As the dust and rubbles cleared, the entire gorge would be seen to have destroyed, burying everything underneath and an unknown figure leaves the scene.

Trapped, Uri found himself unable to move. The ground he was standing on earlier gave way to the explosion and he fell through some considerable height. And when he did land, the rest of the rubbles came falling him. Thankfully, the blue flames he had on as a barrier was still there that the impact of the caving in rubble was slowed. Nevertheless, he now found himself pinned to the ground with bruises and aching limbs, and perhaps a bleeding side. He gasped for air, coughing a few times before reaching out to take off his mask. He hated when missions didn’t go his way. It always meant he’ll have to start from the beginning again. At the very least, he wasn’t at all worried about dying. He’d long discarded that fear. He had become too busy to obsess over the possibility of dying.

Just when things couldn’t get any worse – for which he mentally cursed himself for thinking so – the felt the droplets of water on his face. No sooner would the droplets begin to fall down faster like a leaking faucet. A distant sound of thunder made him frown. It seemed the storm was getting worse and now rainwater was leaking into the rubble he found himself trapped in. He might as well drown at this rate.

Letting out a bit of his frustration, Uri sent out his chakra to converge around him into a mantle of flames. That created a burst that sent the rubbles away and freed him. However, as he had thought he was now trapped in an underground cavern. What was more, the ceiling was shaking terribly from that move and intending to collapse once again. Clicking his tongue, Uri quickly ran into the only path before him, escaping the cave-in. Once inside the path of the cavern, only he was the source of light, a blue illumination in the hollow darkness. He didn’t like it but he knew he’d have to thread on to find a way out and resume his mission.

After a while of walking, with the cavern increasingly getting narrower, he came to realize that he was on an actual path. In this path, there were writings and scribbling on the walls, almost ancient and tribal in design. He couldn’t remember seeing such before but he was certain it resembled some of those in the old history books, at least in some form or another. To which he sighed and wished he spent a few more hours studying those texts back when he under his mentor’s strict tutelage.

When the path seemed far too impossible to get through, seeing how perhaps an ancient quake had caused old rocks to topple over, Uri couldn’t help but feel lost. Now, he truly felt like he was trapped. One option was to destroy the blockade and make a run for it in case there was a cave-in. But just up to where can he run without knowing the end of this path. Another option was to turn back and destroy the blockade there, hoping the opening of where he fell was not too far high up and he could reach it with a few destructive jutsus. But that was rather… troublesome, and the thought of another potential cave-in from that side was just too much to handle.

Just then, as he leaned against the wall, trying to bore himself with the weird drawings, he felt a draft. That could only mean that there was air passing, enough to create a breeze, enough through some sort of gap along the rocks. At that thought, he went to search for the source of the draft and when he came standing in front of long collapsed stones, he had finally decided that this was a better gamble of destroying. At that, he let his blue flames burn brighter before he sent a raging fire jutsu scorching its way through the rocks creating his own tunnel. At once, he heard the rumble and began to move, running with exponential speed until he found an opening where the wind came from. The only problem was that it was another drop.

As he came free falling, he caught a glimpse of the larger underground cavern where a lone pyramidal structure stood in the center. And atop it was a strange light. Twisting in the air and propelling himself with explosions of fire, Uri came to land on one of the steps of the pyramidal structure. However, he would not be given a break, for the moment he landed, the strange flame at the top of this unknown structure began to enlarge itself and spit out small licks of orange flames that came in droves to assault him.

Not knowing what was happening, Uri merely took to action as per instinct and ran to avoid the collision of the flames. They dove sharply and struck the steps where he had been standing on earlier with deadly precision. If not for his quicker reaction, he would have definitely been hit. And in the event that they closed in on him, Uri charged himself with the blue flames to create a sort of aura barrier around. In the collision that brought explosions, he would dash out to continue scaling the steps, figuring that the only way to stop this onslaught was to put the fire out at the top. Even though he didn’t know why it was attacking him or what it was, it seemed to be the only way for now.

As he closed in, the attacks came more rapidly and larger to the point that one of the explosion against his created barrier sends him flying and crashing back down. And as he raised his head, he gritted his teeth as he saw more of those flames diving in for the kill on him, creating a massive explosion that breaks a part of the steps and shakes the very foundation of the pyramidal structure. There was a brief pause in the air as silence drowned out the echoing explosion noice.

A single heartbeat echoed in his ears before he shot through the dust cloud like a stream of blue light. He moved so fast that he could see the small flames just starting to form at the top, not yet launched at him, so he quickly rushed in while his entire body was in blue flames and black and red armor, seemingly having transformed by the power of the demon that was inside him as a will. And as he closed in on the strange flame, he saw the an entity at the very center of it, its own eyes in wide surprise as it reflected the figure of Uri, hand drawn back as massive amounts of chakra gathered instantly before striking.

Uri whipped out his arm and sent a large scale blue flame attack at the source flame. The orange flames tried to fight back, but the collision was non-contestable. Quickly as they met, the blue flames burned larger, creating dark shadows that ate up the orange flames entirely as it crashed into the structure, sending a rumbling destruction that destroys half of the pyramidal structure. Landing on what was left of the top of the structure, Uri’s flames that cloaked him would die down as well as the transformation ending. Gasping, he took only a second to relax before he rushed forward and grabbed the source flame by the neck. Strangely, it looked like a small bird.

“What on earth are you? And why were you attacking me?” asked Uri as he kept his eyes on the creature whose orange flames were weakened but it was obvious that it was seeping out of its skin very much like how his blue flames were.

At first the creature was silent as it was now clearly weak, but its eyes never strayed from Uri’s. And then, it replied, “I am the guardian of this town, Karura. Anyway who threatens this place will be stopped.”

“Clearly, you failed,” said Uri as he glanced around him to see that the entire large cavern was made of stone columns, almost destroyed. “I don’t see a town.”

“It had been.... Centuries ago.”

“And you’ve been here for that long? Talk about persistence. I don’t it’s nice to suddenly attack a traveler though. But what exactly are you? If you’ve lived that long, you’re either a demon or a monster. I can’t let you live if that were the case.”

“Hahaha. Such venom drips from your voice, yet your flame burns with a different emotion,” said the creature as it breaks from Uri’s hold and begins to hover in front of him, his orange flame burning brighter as its form changes into something larger, almost humanoid with wings for arms and a face inside an open mouth helmet. “I have honored my promise to my host to protect this place. Even after his death, I did not relent. But today, I have failed him. Perhaps it is time to bid this place farewell. There are no other that needs protecting now, and this temple is nothing but ruins.”

“You were just probably lonely and clung unto the past because you were trapped in this place.”

“Trapped? No. I can always leave. I simply did not have a reason to.”

“Oh? And now, you do?”

“Your flame is different but it is also akin to mine. In it resides a will that belongs to someone else and your eyes burn brighter than any other flame I’ve seen in my lifetime. It is only natural that one flame attracts another.”

“And what makes you think I would bother with you?” asked Uri, skeptical at the creature’s words.

“Then why bother talking to me? You clearly have more power inside of you that you could extinguish my flames with your own. But you didn’t kill me. There must be a reason.”

Uri turned around, “There’s no merit it killing you. Besides, I have to reserve my own chakra for leaving this place.”

The creature seemed to understand and frowned as it flew to the side to face Uri once more. “Then, you wish not to wield me? Isn’t it normal for the conqueror to take in the spoils of war?”

“You’re referring to yourself like an object? What then if I take you in? Will you simply leave when you’ve found another you can’t defeat?”

“If you are dead at that time, then yes. I am Karura, a guardian but also a warrior. I thrive only in battles. If I have become useless, I will perish. And if my master is long dead, my promise to him would have ended, and so I must seek another.”

“That’s very enlightening,” smirked Uri. “Then why did you stay here all these years when you could have sought for another?”

“Perhaps you were right. I did feel lonely and far too attached to my master to keep his will to the very end. But I wouldn’t have been easily defeated by anyone. You’re not the first to step into this ruins in centuries. You’re simply the first to show me a reason to move on. Your flame is like euphoria that lures my soul. If not now and you, I can see foresee myself languishing into nothingness.”

“You talk too much for a…a… what exactly are you again?”

“Have you not heard of the creatures that roam this world? Creatures who are tied to the chakra of this planet. Creatures who can form bonds with humans.”

“Of course I have. But you’re strangely difficult to understand. Just be upfront. I don’t have time to read between your lines. Are you saying you want to be bonded with me like a contract? I’ve seen my mentor have such. It never did appeal to me because they seem far more of a burden. But like you said, I did feel something in your flame. That relentless assault and the passion it held was noteworthy. And if you’re stubborn enough to stay here centuries after your previous master’s death, then perhaps you’re not as silly as you may think. That’s what I call loyalty beyond stupidity. I wouldn’t mind having someone with such a trait, especially when I have something to achieve that may require far more than simple loyalty.”

The creature’s eyes widened before the frown turned into a grin. Then its body shrank into the small bird form from earlier as it hovered before Uri. “All flames attract, you and are the same. Reach out for me and I’ll burn your soul to create our bond.”

Uri was hesitant at those words but he figured this was a chance he couldn’t pass up. He reached out a reach to touch the creature once more and soon enough the orange flames from its body began to encircle his arm as it led towards him, until it engulfed him. He could feel the chakra enter his chest and then warm up his heart before it disappeared.

“I am Karura, the guardian of flames. Some have called me a phoenix. Others, a deity. But from now on, I am the witness of your will. Until our spirits expire, I will fight alongside you to accomplish your goals.” And with that, the creature pointed to one of the blocked off tunnel to the farther side of the cavern. “The exit is beyond there. If you destroy it, however, everything will collapse.”

“Well, things need to be destroyed in order to make a path,” answered Uri as he began to move towards the direction, summoning up his blue flames once more in the shape of a fiery dragon before unleashing it.

The land quaked continuously but the storm had ended. As Uri stepped out into the surface once more, he found himself utterly annoyed that morning had come. At the very least, he still found a trail of his target, but also, he found a rather interesting ally in the process.

What is Limbo Training?
This is the training that you would have gotten if you did not move on to your new character's life. Your caps are determined by your rebirthed stats. You must keep a record of your stats gained during limbo in your OCR thread. You may NOT request for an automatic rank up should you find that your new stats allow you to upgrade. Limbo training is only for people who have died in modded combat or suicide. Anyone whose character has not died is still capable of RPing that character until their OCR is finalized, and thus can train as normal.

Things you do NOT need to state, but take note of:
  • Abilities = All of your Abilities are auto-untrained upon rebirth. In order to have any Abilities for your new character, you must activate them by posting in your character’s Dojo topic in your new village.
  • Character History = By suiciding/rebirthing, you're making a new character. This means your new character must not know or remember anything of your old character's life/thoughts/feelings. If your new character has ANY direct/indirect connection to your old character, you MUST state that in your new character history write up for Admin & Village approvals. All Medical or ANBU related experience should be reflected in your history along with CA or BL influence.
  • Editing Your New Character Application = Do not edit a post you have made in your OCR. You must copy all of your information from your last post and add the changes to the new post. This is for papertrail reasons.

Things that do NOT transfer with your next character:
Please take notice of which ASP shop items that you have bought transfer with your character, and which do not.

Howdy! Contract Head here just taking the contract portion of the OCR to Contract Team Land and also noting that Jien is in a search right now. The search may be finished with Jien being a NPC and would be accessible to Jien if he is OCR'ed back into at a later date if the search is successfully in the end ^^

Alrighty Kiri, let's do this! Character name, history, rank (ANBU Elite), CA (Pyro), Kin (Jinchuu), class, and jutsu/affinity swaps look all a-okay to me! I give my +1 of approval. Now all that is left is for Contract Team to verify the switch in contract and for another Council member to look this through. I read through this thoroughly, so I'm sure I didn't miss anything, so I think you're good to go pending those two approvals. Thanks for the patience.
