This wasn’t exactly how he envisioned his return to the mortal realm to be. He had wished he would be able to meet his family again, but it would appear as they were nowhere to be found. The ones left in the Tsuyoshi Manor were the caretakers of the orphanage that Junko set up, while Junko, himself was nowhere in sight (still after all this time that Kiri had been gone) and the twins were also gone. When he tried to look for Osu, he found nothing. No trace of their presence in their lovely apartment in that luxurious part of the village. Not even Chiai. And when he searched for his adoptive mother Kahako, he was left hanging with no answers. There was no answer as to where Susumu was either, nor Ayumu. It almost felt as if he had been ripped off from the fabric of time and reality that he knew of. And now that he had returned, everything was not how it should be.
If there was a lingering thought at the back of his head, it was that there was a promise he kept with Kahako before he had that unfortunate incident to be swept into the Slug’s realm where everything, even time and curses, had stranger workings. It was a promise to go to Suna because of an important matter. The reason still escapes his mind as did other things that were still blurry to his memory. He wasn’t sure how long it would take before he could catch up with all he had left behind– his body, his memory, and his purpose. But he knew one thing, and that was he had to move on. Literally.
After checking in with the reception desk, he gave his intention to meet the new Raikage, a name he was quite familiar with only because it somehow sent signals of recognition in his brain, though perhaps the joggled memory is still affecting him to properly process it. He was told to wait patiently until he called up to enter the office per se, and while doing so, he looked at the forms he had.
He was planning to journey to Suna to hopefully find answers to what was missing in his memory. A promise that was eating at his skin since the moment he realized that no one he knew of was in Kumogakure anymore. Whether this was a dream or another of the illusions from the Sakuna Slugs, it was rather worrying. He slowly began to write on the forms.
He hummed as he tried to think what was appropriate to write. He can’t simply jot down that maybe a walk into the sand dunes would probably help clear his mind and remember what that promise was, or that maybe he’ll find his raison d'etre over there. After a brief while, he ended up with the most plausible and perhaps the most convincing he could muster.
It wasn’t a lie. He had been, at one point, charged with benchmarking. The first was at Leaf, but due to unforeseen circumstances, that one was postponed. He wasn’t so sure about the current political dynamics in Konohagakure at the moment so he figured he might as well do the other, Suna. And with that decided, he waited for the Raikage.
