Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.
Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.
Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.
The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.
This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Katsuro said:Name: Higashi Katsuro
Village: Stone
Character Age: 21
Gender: Male
Height: 5 foot 8 inches
Weight 154 lbs
Character's Physical Description: Katsuro’s description can simply be described as being ‘young.’ He is a fountain of youth (due to his Jinchuuriki powers) since the development of his abilities has stopped his face from gaining wrinkles or blemishes, at the cost of a lack of stubble. His hair his a light blue like his mothers’ and his eyes are a shade of green much like his father’s. He wears a headband to stop his longish hair going over his eyes yet maintains some small shaggy bits like his fathers.
He usually likes to wear flowing clothes rather than tight fighting and usually has a belt pouch containing a variety of antidotes and ointments as well as a small first aid kit. He also carries a small dagger for self defence just in case.
Katsuro also has a few interesting features about him due to being inhabited by Azumao the spirit. For instance he has a raincloud birthmark on his stomach. He also leaks water from him when transformed into his demonic form. This is usually covered because Katsuro accidentally creates rain clouds when uneasy.
Character's Mental Description: The Chuunin’s mentality is pretty torn between right and wrong. Katsuro is ambitious and usually has some part of his head in his clouds though he tries to ground himself via his work as a mednin. Compassionate like his mother and slightly headstrong like his father he doesn’t like to be in the back. He feels blessed that he can be offensive and heal with his water abilities.
Katsuro has a dislike of lightning that doesn’t come from lightning clouds and a love for the Ocean. He has a dislike of anything that is to do with religious symbols for he believes the gods have cursed him with his spirit instead of blessing him with his birthright. Although he is also a mednin he doesn’t believe that medicine actually works on him and only uses his own healing techniques.
Katsuro can be set to become uneasy and untrusting of people very quickly due to his past history with tests. He doesn’t like people making a fuss about his abilities and would escape quickly if someone were to openly talk about his issues.
Character History: The Prologue
Katsuro was born in Konohagakure before it became what it is today. It was during a storm that struck the village hospital while his mother was in labour. The seas were roaring and the rain poured through the roof onto the bely of his mother while the doctors operated. The storm raged on as he was pulled out and the crying was met with a crackle. Soon after the birth the air was uneasy but calm and Katsuro was found to be born with a raincloud birth mark on his stomach.
He was born to a sword-wielding Father and an Ice Princess Mother who loved him very much. Soon after his mother’s sickness weakened her and forced her to retire leaving his father to work hard for them both. It did mean that he could be nurtured and loved by his mother no matter how difficult it was for her. He seemed to tear up a lot but not cry, instead it seemed he was seeping water from his eyes.
They soon moved to Iwagakure where he grew up among his parents and his mothers’ father. Life was good for them although they noticed that he was not developing the ice powers of his mother or the Nanjirou abilities of his father. Even throughout his academy skills all he seemed to be able to use was water jutsu and water jutsu alone. Anything else would become full of water instead, rendering the jutsu useless and embarrassing.
Feeling concerned, his mother and father took him to the hospital to find out about why his abilities that should have been naturally inherited. Katsuro found it amazing going to the clinic with all these people un uniform seeming to help people rather than throwing projectiles or making clones of themselves. He wasn’t really interested in using a lot of fighting and tricking jutsu rather being able to actually help people.
The doctors took a look at him and his body, running extensive tests on him to see why he wasn’t able to produce ice jutsu like his mother could. Instead what they found was that he had only developed part of his Haku bloodline. Instead of being able to produce strong ice abilities he was instead stuck only to using water abilities. It wasn’t a genetic mutation but something inside of him was causing him to react against other elemental chakra besides water. This confused the doctors confused but they sent him on the way with nothing they could do.
Life as an invalid
Katsuro was instead told to practice more with his water jutsu and develop them rather than try anything else. This then lead to the now Genin honing his skills with water jutsu and learning to control water around him. He had found that with his water jutsu was able to remove the sting from wasp stings an stinging nettles and he could use his water to heal up his wounds slightly. But something felt off. With his powers he felt that his chakra was constantly leaking and was causing outbursts of water chakra without his control.
He was also noticing at times he was becoming erratic and uncontrollable in his actions, often lashing back against people. Something felt wrong but he just thought it was tiredness. That was until he starting hearing whispers coming from inside him. Not inside his head but from his stomach, in his hands, along his veins. What he thought was just him being a little tired was him being mentally attacked by whatever was inside him. The voice was low and long, almost like it was a whale calling to another. The sound would echo through his chakra coils rather than through the nervous system, causing his body to move with the current, throwing him about to the moons’ desires.
The demands of the voice were telling him to do bad things, to use his powers for his own personal gain rather than for the village or the citizens. It would take hours of fighting himself and binding himself in a water prison before he finally could control himself once again. Something that would control him really caused him to fear his own body. All he could do was tell his family.
He confessed his fears to his parents and they rushed him back to the hospital, years after his first check. They had found that he had a large chakra focus along where his birthmark seemed to be. What they could only guess was that somehow there was something sealed within Katsuro when he was born, creating his predicament of not really being able to use ice jutsu like his mother.
Whatever it was he was to be monitored from now on, watching him grow up with whatever the phenomenon was inside him. At the same time he was able to learn medical procedures and techniques from the doctors while they tested him. His parents were able to see him less and less each year by the doctors and made him feel a little more confused and lonely. He would use his water abilities sparingly, using them to try and heal people secretly to hide the weird chakra outbursts.
The depths
He felt cursed by the gods. If they were so loving and believable in this village then why were they punishing him for living? Was it because he wasn’t born here? Was it because he had a natural affinity to water and not to earth? Maybe they were the ones whispering to him constantly.
That was until one day he was trying to use his powers to help when he heard the voices again telling him to create a storm. As he tried to heal with his water abilities his hands froze up and instead he felt the chakra being used from his body without creating the seals. A storm awoke outside, raining heavily into the cracks and crevices of the village as if the thing inside him was trying to make him flood the village. Not matter how hard he tried to cancel it the chakra was continuing to leave him. Nothing was working until he listened to the voice properly.
No longer was it whispering but fully talking to him inside, telling him to let go and run from the hospital. To run away from the imprisonment of these doctors and “save” the village by standing upon it and using his new found ice jutsu. The voice was telling him that he would be able to do it with his help. All he could do was agree to it and head to a point where he could walk on the water, call out for the storm to calm and cast a basic ice jutsu he once watched his mother do. Sure enough the ice stopped the water and over the coming days allowed it to be removed.
A different kind of family
He found a new trust in whatever was inside him. He would begin to have conversations with what it was and why it was trying to do things to cause trouble. Though evasive he found that the thing inside him was a spirit of a creature that died in the rain on the same day that he was born to the world. The connection between the two brought the creature into him and stole some of his natural water powers, feeding on it until it was strong enough to have its own pool of water chakra. It became a natural reservoir of water chakra that could be used to create terrific water jutsu.
Now that he knew they had a link it was time to work on his spirits connection and his own. Over the course of a number of years and becoming a Chuunin level Mednin he had been able to develop his strong connection. He would try to constantly hide his weird new spirit powers, often making excuses of his high chakra being that he had been training a lot or that it was just a bloodline.
In his off times however he would be training up with his spirit, often trying to tap into the chakra that the spirit had and using it for his own gain. However he found that by doing that we would start feeling like he was going to blackout, much unto the spirits desire to keep trying. He felt that each time he tried to connect with the spirit there would be this dark feeling looming over him and the rain would start to come down harder with more thunder and lightning. It didn’t feel right but at the same time something told him it was the only way to progress with it so he would continue to practice, getting closer and closer until blacking out.
The day after the night before
Then he woke up a few days later to find that he had been on a small rampage in a cave not so far from the village and that the spirit turned out to be more of a dark spirit than one that was there to help him. He tried to interrogate the spirit, threatening to remove his stomach from the rest of him and replace it with a mechanical stomach and a load of dumb ideas which were parried with the words “that’ll just kill you.”
He heard the spirit sigh in pity and force an image into his mind of the night he was born. The Spirit (Azumao of the ancient seas) had found him from the affinity that he was born to. Someone with Haku blood just thin enough to push the wind affinity out and be left with just the water. It meant though that without the demon’s permission through unblocking his chakra he wouldn’t be able to use wind or ice jutsu. It hurt a bit inside but it finally gave him some closure on why he felt so different and why his body was so weird. Having to essentially use his chakra for the both of them for so many years meant he was kind of used to being able to gather a lot of chakra so physically he didn’t mind. He just had to make sure that Azumao behaved while being a guest inside him.
He and Azumao would continue to train for years as he studied to become a mednin. Though he was a destructive creature inside he knew that he could tap into the water powers that his demon had absorbed from him to use it to heal people’s wounds. This coupled with his innate ability to purge poisons and other nasty particles that would otherwise kill a person. While the dark spirit would look on disapprovingly it would be best for his plan to allow Katsuro to go ahead and develop his nature further.
Finally after some more time he learned to develop the ability to channel his demon through him and gain a surge of power. He would do this by combining the natural chakra of his spirit with his own chakra to create a more powerful surge of elemental chakra that would seep through his skin and leak over the floor. He still felt that at times Azumao would temporarily take over and try and hurt his friends rather than attack his foes but with a little bit of control on how the chakra was spent he figured that it would be fine.
When he reached his 21st birthday, Katsuro decided to start making plans to honour his mother and father whom he had lost contact with. He wasn’t sure if he had any siblings, if they knew about Azumao and how they were joined together in body and chakra. He wasn’t even sure if they were alive at this point but he wanted to find them before deciding on his future. Though he was mad that he was kept imprisoned when he was younger and that he wondered what they had found out about him that they weren’t letting on.
Now he believes that the only way forward is to constantly develop his relationship with Azumao the water spirit living inside him. No longer believing in gods but instead that humans and spirits can work together by using each other. However he knows that there is something off about his new partner, something that would hang over him like the rain that would forever hang over his head.
Azumao however did have plans. Plans that would involve the new Jinchuuriki to go beyond what he thought life was and change the way the world is. Something about living inside a person for so long without seeing the ocean did make you sort of… miss it.

Darkened eyes, and a boyish face. He is tall and lanky, standing at around 6 foot and weighing just under 190 lbs. He is always in a white robe with a sheath loosely attached to him. He usually wears comfortable shoes of some sort, covered by the robes that drape down to the floor. No other real noticeable features about him, besides being left handed, and that he doesn’t seem to have ever held his weapon at all, judging from the strength of the grip of his hands. Character's Mental Description: Stalwart, wary and always on the lookout would be the best description of the Nanjirou. Ever since escaping from his old village he hasn’t really done anything but become more cautious in his age. However when relaxed he can be flirty, and hasn’t really any kind of social barrier including not being afraid to try new things or even worry about what others would think of what he does. He’s also a real sucker when being flirted at too,and can sometimes have commitment issues from not really having a reliable team to back him up. Multiple Personality Application: None Character History: Sunuke was born to a clan of Nanjirou in the Leaf Village that had traded their ability to fight in order to utilize the spirits that once existed to fight for them. Using their special form of Iaido and mixing it with their training in the occult. They never touched their ancestral swords, keeping them in the sheathes, while at the same time allowing the spirits to use them for their fighting to improve their honour in the spirit world beyond. The Nanjirou was one of these, having to pretend that it was a special ninjutsu that allowed them to control their swords like that. When in all honesty he knew that it wasn’t kinetic ninjutsu, the the other world fighting for his clan. However he wasn’t able to learn this ability just yet. He hadn’t found a spirit to bond with and ask for help in this world. And because of that he wasn’t allowed a sword, but would have to use a bow as a humiliation for not being able to find a spirit straight away. Every time he wasn’t training to become stronger for the village he was training to locate spirits and find one that would bond with him. He would search through the spirits of thousands of years to find a swordsman who would train with him and find the sword of theirs to be the sentinel. Instead he would find nothing but rejection, or nothing. Training through the ranks, he became a master of ranged fighting and yet he still felt humiliated that as a clan of sword fighting, he was banned from using a sword until he made a bond with a spirit. Even becoming an ANBU and training in the arts of assassination would still not make his clan ever more proud of him. No matter how many bad guys he got, or missing nin he caught they would never seem to be proud of him in any way, shape or form. He started to become disillusioned in his clan, and therefore in himself. He was a disappointment to his family for not having any sword skills, ignored by the samurai for joining ninja branches, and made fun of by ninja for being a samurai clansmen joining the ninja branches. And after years of training with a bow and arrow he found that no strength to wield a sword himself. He felt lonely, and a disgrace to his ancestors that lived in Leaf. Even being named after an old Leaf samurai didn’t help him gain any respect with the spirits or his family. It didn’t seem like he was going to get anywhere. Being a moody teenager at this point of his life was causing him to start to become daring, and relying less on the spirits of his family to help him. He instead focused on hunting, and staying out late to be away from his family. But this only caused tensions between him and the clan, which was then noticed by Leaf that tensions were brewing in the Nanjirou clan. In a moment of weakness, Sunuke sneaked into his own clans house to steal a sword to use. However the one he took was too heavy to wield due to how weak he had become by using a bow and arrow set. He didn’t feel like he could wield it himself, but he could try. “What are you doing?!” A voice cried out behind him. It was one of the elders of the clan who had heard the sound of someone opening the gates at the middle of the night. Old people did tend to wake up a lot during the night. “You were barred from ever holding one of our swords! Sunuke jumped from hearing the loud noise and behind him, and dropped the ancestral sword. It shattered into pieces and fell over the place as his face realized what he did. “I-I’m sorry I didn’t mean t-“ but before he could apologise the elder screamed in anguish and fear, before turning around to alert everyone that the moody teenager had just doomed the clan by annoying the spirits. It was the first time that someone had disrespected their clan in this way, and it was one of their own. A meeting was called about what to do, and the only option they found that the spirits could agree with was to abandon Sunuke, and force him to take the broken sword with him. He was to not be allowed back into the clan at all. Fearing for his safety, Sunuke took the pieces. He would keep them in a satchel and he was to leave immediately. He woulkd find himself homeless, friendless and above all else: without purpose. Remembering his training as an Anbu, he had learned how people tried to go missing. And from that he learned the smartest ways to escape without alerting Leaf of what was happening. He figured that if he could get out then he could find purpose to what he was meant to do. If the spirits had truly abandoned him then why was he bothering staying in a place that would remind him how much of a failure, he was. He took the satchel with him, keeping it safe as he snuck out of the village and into the surrounding forests, not to return to where he lost all hope. He instead decided that it would be best for him to go and reforge the sword that he had broken and get it repaired so he could use it. He would eventually find a forge outside the village and paid for his sword to be repaired in the same style as it one was, using the hot flames to bring it back to its former glory. However it was still too heavy for the Nanjirou to use, so it would instead just sit in its sheath. Sunuke sighed, as he didn’t really know what to do now that he fixed the sword. So he would just do what he used to do, try and locate a spirit to make a pact with, and train hard enough. At least those two were certainties in his life, even if his family house had abandoned him and he was now all alone. He did his usual practice of sitting in front of a sheath, though this time it did have a sword in it. He would pray to the spirits to reveal themselves to him so that he may forge a pact with one of them. He kept praying harder and harder until he heard a voice call out to him. It was one of the ancestral spirits that defended the clan and helped lead the village they once lived in. Sunuke would bow his head to the floor as he finally was able to find someone who would answer him. It seemed the spirit saw the young missing nin’s desperation and in that moment of need he decided to help. Maybe it was out of pity, or maybe it was the desire to fight with honour once more. A pact was made between Sunuke and the spirit, on the condition that he never touched the hilt or blade with the sword, and that the blade would do the fighting, not him. He was to be as passive as possible, and only through training would he gain the ability to fuse with the sword and to become the weapon. Sunuke agreed to the pact, and allowed the spirit to wield the sword as if he was still around. Now with the spirit one his side, Sunuke was considered a member of the clan again… at least in his eye he was. The Nanjirou would train, channeling the spirit to grip the sword and pull it from the sheath, before striking at targets. He could point out the targets to fight, and because the sword was away from him he could hide or focus on dodging. He did notice that the sword did struggle to use taijutsu attacks. He didn’t mind too much since he could give some support on that. The spirit was getting stronger and quicker with controlling a sword it couldn’t actually physically hold. Though it looked like the sword was in the hands of the spirit there was no tangible physical connection. Training took years, between hiding from Leaf hunter-nin and trying to improve the bond between Sunuke and his spirit would take a long time until where he was today. With years of training how to be passive and let the sword do all the work had left him looking flimsy, but at the same time he was quite sturdy because of all the concentration he needed to allow the spirit to take hold of his weapon. The bond kept growing stronger with each passing day, and by the time he decided to leave the country and explore the world he could seamlessly attack without moving his hands. He was beginning to get known in the villages outside the ninja villages as the man with the possessed sword. The bond between the Nanjirou and the sword was much stronger than anyone who normally wielded a weapon, and instead he found himself more likely to win than against normal sword users due to people underestimating his fighting style. Eventually on his journeys he met a younger girl who could also see spirits. She was part of Kumogakure and called Yuii. Though they bonded over their interest of spirits, Sunuke still had to find himself before he could journey with her. But he made a promise to Yuii to come visit her when he was ready. And with that, he and his now bonded weapon continued their journey to strengthen their bond, and to find a way to redeem themselves to their family and the village they left in turmoil. Also I was hoping to use my character history as my kinjutsu app, using the reason why Sunuke and his sword bonded. Also requesting permission from Yuii to know her character from her travels around the world.
Made the changes in the quote.
Sara said:Okay. So we need ages or so to put this into order in his history. Or some rewording.
Him being hunted by ANBU would need to have happened around the age of 14. After the age of 16-17, he would have had to leave the Leaf country otherwise he would have been attacked with prejudice by the people of the fire country. If he changes the phrasing of his training to spiritual training and swordsmanship by training under a school in a village, then he can slide by being in the country.

He took the satchel with him, keeping it safe as he sneaked out of the village and into the surrounding forests, not to return to where he lost all hope.
So he would just do what he used to do, try and locate a spirit to make a pact with, and train hard enough in secret so people didn't realise what he was.
He decided to then leave the country, knowing full well that being caught doing kenjutsu and other sword type training would have him found out. This led him to go and hide out in Lightning country, keeping a watchful eye on his behind to make sure he wasn't being tailed. Ninjas knew information after all.
Training took years, between hiding from Leaf hunter-nin while out in Lightning Country, and trying to improve the bond between Sunuke and his spirit would take a long time until where he was today. While the two years of being chased, it stopped as the village focused inward to deal with the inner turmoil it was facing.
Eventually on his journeys through the Lightning Country he met a younger girl who could also see spirits. She was part of Kumogakure and called Yuii. Though they bonded over their interest of spirits, Sunuke still had to find himself before he could journey with her. But he made a promise to Yuii to come visit her when he was ready. After all... going to another ninja village just seemed like a bad idea in his eyes.
And with that, he and his now bonded weapon continued their journey to strengthen their bond, and to find a way to redeem themselves to their family and the village they left in turmoil.
