Yuuto’s Bloodline/Core Ability/Kinjutsu:
So have you ever wondered how someone can have a bloodline but then switch to another core set? Don’t you wonder how people can defy the limits set before them? More specifically how in the hell has Masaru Yuuto been able to use Sunaku abilities but then move onto become things such as a Shadow Boxer, Chakra Attuned, Ghost Walker, and Temporal Strider? Please! …. Let me explain.
On the night of Masaru Yuuto’s grandfather’s death something extraordinary happened. His grandfather revealed a third eye and an ability that he had known of before. So in order to explain what Yuuto is, we’ll need to slightly brush up on his current self.
While locked in Prison Yuuto had nothing but time to think and wallow. He wallowed in his sense of justice, hoping that the flames of revolution would fix all this. Then he wallowed some more in the death of Hayata Shin and his direct involvement with some of the problems others had with him.. possibly. In short Yuuto was beating himself up and day by day he fled inward. With the use of Chakra Dampeners he couldn’t really muster up enough energy to do jutsu, maybe the occasional weak chakra ball in your hand but not much more than that. So what did he do to pass the days? Yuuto picked up different hobbies focusing more on those than his work with puppetry or anything else of that nature. For one, he learned how to play a harmonica finding solitude in making noises. He aslso wrote, and boy did he write a lot. Yuuto wrote memoirs, stories, poetry and even music. Yuuto was able to find some type of solitude in these mundane activities. However when his new will became more defined (the will to right his wrongs) he began to focus on resharpening his blade (figurative speech for getting back into fighting form).
In order to restore your skills you have to reattach yourself to your strengths. Or at least that was Yuuto’s philosophy on it. Whenever he delved into a new form of fighting it took time, practice and a lot of failures. However one thing he never seemed to be particularly bad at was controlling his chakra. Controlling your chakra was key in Yuuto’s skills, from his immediate background in puppeteering , Yuu always controlled his chakra on a high level. He stood out amongst his peers for it, and when he became attuned with the power of chakra he was able to be a raw force. So his first step was to regain better control over his chakra. For it was the hardest task he’d have laid out in front of him, was using chakra while being stuck with dampeners. They suppressed the ability to use chakra (not negate it) and it caused pain just to use chakra but it was pain he was willing to go through. Yuuto began with forming energy in his palms and than twisting that energy into shapes. Even though he was dampened it’s hard to actually restrict a human chakra sponges ability to utilize chakra on some scale. While it was small it was good practice, each shape he made required a lot of concentration and energy, and it gave him the most important thing he needed precision. The precision and expertise to fold out a thin strand of chakra and bundle it until you have it coiled around your fingers. Or even turning that ball of chakra into a mold of a person, or even a silhouette.
After months of this simple training he could feel his chakra more, it still wasn’t anything amazing but he could feel his chakra, and small traces of the chakra around him. So what was next after feeling confident with your chakra? Now it was time implement that skill into something else. So do you remember that Yuuto was once a “Shadow Boxer”. He learned how to turn his illusions, his inner demons, into reality onto others. He learned how to take chakra channeling to a new level by channeling genjutsu through his fist. Yet over time he realized that fist fighting wasn’t his specialty, it wasn’t that he was bad at it far from it, but the biggest fact was that his true strength lie in his chakra and its raw potency.
The veteran shinobi stared around his room searching for answers. He grasped his notebooks thinking maybe he could learn how to manipulate paper with his chakra, or how he could possibly utilize his pieces of lead that he used to write. However none of that appealed to him, it had restrictions that wouldn’t suit him in the ideal situations. So he continued to look until he came upon one of his music notebooks. He sat there thinking on it, before dismissing the notebook. It wasn’t until later that night when he did a double take at his book and his harmonica that it became apparent what he could do. See the Yondai taught him how to channel Genjutsu through his fists but they had to teach him extreme chakra control before he could. How to channel his chakra more than anything else. So different examples were brought to him, Shinobi who could cast Genjutsu through their eyes, Shinobi who could use jutsu without handseals, who could make weapons float with chakra, even his own ability to control sand and puppeteer. How did it all work? By using your chakra as a will, as an extension of yourself. The object isn’t what’s important it’s the chakra behind it. So Yuuto began to practice sending his chakra through the harmonica, and making sound through his chakra not his mouth. For the next few years that Yuuto was imprisoned he continued this kind of training, not just with the harmonica but anything. He would graze the walls with his hands making loud noises through echoing his chakra onto the surface. He learned how to send his chakra through areas via sound vibrations, simply off of a theory and a lot of time to practice and perfect the craft. While still not the most adept person when it came to music, the music his chakra could make was more impressive than most of the things he had done. Another fighting style was conceived for Yuuto but it had to beg the question we’ve been wondering since the beginning….
How?
[Cadency Portion Completed]
So now that you know where Yuuto’s at currently in his abilities how does this all play into eachother? On the night of his grandfather’s death what did Roku truly do to Yuuto? What was that ritual and how did that lead to Yuuto gaining the abilities of the Sunaku. Well fear not folks I will explain and I wont do it in half riddles either. This time you gain some insight into the Masaru.
The Masaru Clan are a clan of wanderers, they do not seek and they do not settle. Or at least that’s how they used to live their lives. Back when they were in droves the Masaru had a lot of good going for them. For one thing, they had a naturally stronger chakra pool than others. It was as if Chakra loved some of them, like it gravitated towards that kinship strengthening their abilities. The ability to control chakra was especially prominent in the Masaru kinsmen who were able to open their third eye. I will reiterate that this is not your run of the mill metaphorical third eye, no the Masaru literally grew a third eye on their forehead when one was strong and their abilities were steadily growing. It was a part of their biology except this eye didn’t inherently do something for them like the Hyuuga and the Uchiha. This eye had one function and that is to unlock their potential or push it. Like a vacuum for some reason this third eye assisted in chakra development and growth.
This was not a hidden fact from the clan they knew that a third eye was possible for almost if not everyone in the clan based on their prowess in chakra control and I guess in some form another, luck. However what most did not know is that there was another mutation within the clan. Something far more coveted and sinister. When ones grasp of chakra and their affinity towards it was abnormally high (even for Masaru standards) they would be brought into a secret chamber only the elders knew of which they called, the Chamber of Endo. In this chamber Masaru were tested on their willpower and fortitude. They were trained in the art of absorbing chakra, until the elders felt they were sufficient enough to learn the truth behind their abilities. However this truth did come at the expense of their freedom.
Back in the early days of the Shinobi the ancestral Masaru, the first of the gentle, was a monster on some accounts. A beast within a man’s skin enticing the human heart to turn into that of a twisted creature. Masaru Endo the first recorded Chimera of the Masaru clan was special since birth. He came out of the womb with his third eye open wide and shining. His ability to control chakra was on an entirely different level, he could absorb his enemies abilities and throw them back at them. As time progressed his power grew and he was able to copy entire techniques of other clans just by seeing them do it or battling them. However it wasn’t like the Sharingan of the Uchiha, it was something far more advanced and intriquite. It was as if Endo could open a void in his own body, break the ability down to its purest form (chakra) and absorb it. He could even release the energy in brilliant azure flames (ahhh). However Endo’s biggest recorded trait was his ability to absorb a persons body and take their abilities. Not just a portion but actually absorb the person. Through some kind of ritualized technique he could infect the target with his chakra and then begin converting their body into chakra to be infused with his own body. He was known through the clan as the progenitor of these abilities and since then a select few in the clan mutate to this stage.
Roku was one such child who grew to inherit the power of Endo. His ability to manipulate chakra grew at alarming rates and when he was first trained in the Chamber of Endo they saw that he was definitely going to grow to be one of the brighter. However at some point Roku left the Clan’s wandering dominion and sought refuge in other lands.
Now what does this have to do with Yuuto you are probably wondering? The simple answer… Everything.
Side Information: On the night of Roku’s murder, when the assassins came he knew that they wanted something from him. In order to be candid it’s important that you know that they were after something they dub as the seed. However! that’s for Yuuto’s story at a later date.
So you understand a bit more about the Masaru Clan but do you understand how Yuuto came into this power? The night when Roku died, as he protected Yuuto from the assassins, as he wrote in blood and chakra on his grandsons skin, Roku was preparing him to receive the gift that would give him more power. Roku in his heart knew he would more than likely die there, or he could lose his grandson. While the assassins would kill him if they had a chance, if he served as no threat to them then maybe Yuuto would survive. So he enacted a twisted version of the Chimera ritual. When one absorbs someone’s entire being it takes a good while to take hold (a few days give or take depending on chakra and physical size) however the hardest part is the target being turned into chakra. It takes tremendous focus and precision on live targets who can fight back but if done a target that the user can overpower easily then the process is much smoother and more forceful. Seeing that Yuuto was a small weak child it wasn’t hard to tune into his chakra, however Roku wasn’t absorbing Yuuto he was imparting a gift of power and love. Roku turned his own chakra into fuel for the ritual and gave some of his own essence to Yuuto. Along with it he passed on his seed, the piece of his chakra that allows him be a Chimera, onto his grandson. With this rash action he attempted to give Yuuto the family’s power, the ability to carry on the Masaru Clan’s name but was done on a bet…. A bet that actually worked out. It’s still unclear why it worked on Yuuto, it could be due to them being direct descendants, or maybe Yuuto was bound to become a Chimera all along like his ancestors before him. Regardless of the reason it worked, and Yuuto had gained the ability to use Sand from his grandfather not from being a Sunaku descendant (although that means Roku snatched a Sunaku sooo whose the bad guy? Idk). From the day his grandfather died, Yuuto’s path was born. He just didn’t know it yet.
There were a few complications with this action. For one it completely drained Yuuto and burned him up from the inside damaging his chakra system and causing him to become weakened for a while. He had to go through intense training and therapy to get back up to proper levels. Not to mention the ritual was incomplete. Roku had nearly nowhere near enough time to complete the process, he burned his own chakra system in order to speed up his own version of the ritual and impart his power onto Yuuto.
For Yuuto this meant a slow maturation of his true abilities. Over the decades of his shinobi career, every time he acquired a new core technique, it was due to this mutation. The entire time Yuuto thought it was just his extreme control of chakra but not even that could cause the results he had. From one year being able to control shadows from an unreal perspective to being able to commune with actual ghosts, Masaru Yuuto has always been at one form or another absorbing something. However being that he didn’t know he was naturally absorbing the chakra around him, and it was incomplete it never manifested the way it should lessening the amount of the power he actually grasped.
Now that we know where Yuuto’s power truly comes from, you have to wonder does he? Has he even noticed it yet? Well reader, until a few months ago he thought nothing of it.
One Month After being released from Prison:
Yuuto was back in the real world, but without work. Being that he was a pariah in the shinobi world his place at Anbu was null and void, his space in the Main Branch was shakey if that, and he truly could only find something in the medical field IF they would even take him. So he volunteered to at least help out since it always seemed like the medical branch was understaffed. While they didn’t bring him in as an official med nin he of course still knew the techniques and could offer healing but for the most part he was resigned to caring for sick patients. Something he had no problems with.
One patient in particular caught his heart in a special way. The young Hashigaki girl named Hina was 20 years old but appeared to be a bit younger. She was frail and slender, stuck to a bed or a wheelchair when she traveled so it wouldn’t stress her body much and something was wrong with her throat as she had this raspy sound to her, but she never allowed it to slow her down. Hina was diagnosed with a form of laryngeal cancer, which affect her voicebox making it hard for her to speak sometimes.
When Yuuto started volunteering, he seemed gloomy. While smiling and happy he could help something was missing. Hina would always question him about it prodding him to tell her what he was thinking. The first time they met she said nothing only observed him as he quietly administered her medicine and attended to her. Everyday Yuuto continued like that, barely speaking as he attended to her. Finally Hina broke the silence with an awkward question.
Hina: Don’t I know you?
Yuuto: Yes I come in everday to attend to you.
Hina: No I know you from somewhere else, your voice is too familiar. Hmmm
Yuuto felt nervous, wondering if she was talking about his broadcast to the Cloud Village back when Shin was Raikage.
Hina: You wouldn’t happen to be the nut case who tried to out late Raikage Shin as a traitor to Kumo would you?
Yuuto’s head sunk low.
Yuuto: Yes that would be me..
Hina cocked her head sideways and began to burst out laughing. She pointed and kicked her feet as she laughed at Yuuto to the point tears came down her face.
Hina: Ahahaha Wow to think a crazed criminal is attending to my weakened self, and NOT professing his ideology about justice in Kumogakure.
Yuuto just stares perplexed
Hina: I’m sorry I’m sorry but come on you gotta admit if you were me, and you met someone that tried to start a radical revolution, then maybe just maybe they would be a little more vocal. Not some guy that scowls and skulks about.
Yuuto: What are you ten?
Hina: Aha! There’s your spunk, and no for your information I’m 20. Also not a felon haha
Yuuto: I guess I deserved that much.
The weirdest thing happened that day, as he replied that to Hina, he couldn’t help but laugh with her. For the first time in a long time he had let out a genuine smile, one that wasn’t derived from some twisted place, but simply a warm honest smile built by laughter. Everyday went like that from then on, Yuuto and Hina laughing and joking as he finally had time to connect with another human being. He learned about her favorite candy (Lightning Rocks), learned her favorite number (9 like his), She was afraid of bugs and always would scream for Yuuto to take care of them, even If the bug was magically gone when he got there. He would play her music that could lull her to sleep (Cadency ability) and they brought her peace much like she brought him. The first few months of his release were some of the most pleasant he could hope to have. Like all good things in his tale… it is bound to go South.
Into the third month of volunteering, Yuuto went to work as usual only to find out Hina’s cancer took a turn for the worst. Of course he immediately went to her aid but what he saw truly broke his heart. Hina looked far frailer than before, she lie motionless on a bed, her head wrapped and an oxygen mask attached to her face. Yuuto went to Hina’s side, and stood over her for a while. He watched her sleep for about ten minutes before sighing and turning to the door. At that moment her tiny weak arm grabbed his with so much strength. Yuu turned to see Hina with her eyes barely open.
Hina: Don’t go (she weakly says)
Yuuto: Hey hey, what are you doing you need your rest.
Hina: Please… don’t go…
Yuuto pulled a seat up to her bed and sat down
Yuuto: I’m not going anywhere kid, don’t worry about it.
Hina released her grip and closed her eyes. It was probably about two hours before she opened them once more.
Hina: Yuuto…
Yuuto: Yeah kiddo what’s up, can I get you anything?
Hina: Can I ask you… Why did you go after the Raikage…
Yuuto: Oh... (he pauses for a while) Well I suppose I was bitter. I saw him making decisions in interest of the village but in my mind it was for him to feel more secure as Kage and not for the betterment of his people. I suppose I thought I knew better… so I followed through calling for change and reform.
Hina: So why do you… look so sad all the time…
Yuuto: *Sigh* I guess it’s because… I spent a lot of time thinking about what I did. Was it right? Was it wrong? Did I accomplish anything? In my conclusion, it was a mistake. I spent so much time seeking justice, that I didn’t actually give any out. So.. I guess at the end of the day I didn’t accomplish anything worth while.
Hina: So what will you do… when I die?
Yuuto: Come on you’re not gonna die, you’ll pull through this.
Hina weakly chuckles
Hina: No I won’t Yuuto… I know that… You know that… every doctor here knows that. I don’t have long, maybe some days, maybe some weeks, I hope nothing longer…
Yuuto: Hina..
Hina: No it’s okay… I know now maybe my purpose in this short life was to meet the idiot who … who decided he could change the world without purpose…
Yuuto intently stares at Hina as she reached out. Gripping his hand he listened to her speak.
Hina: No matter what you do… you can’t run from your past… so you have to take it head on and fight. You’re a good guy… you just made dumb decisions. That doesn’t have to be the end for you though… Please Yuuto find your purpose….
As Hina finished speaking Yuuto kissed her hand before resting it back on her. He sat there motionless for the next four hours, only moving to use the bathroom before sitting back down next to Hina. She eventually woke up once more.
Hina: Hey Yuuto… can you play for me?
Yuuto: Of course, anything particular?
Hina: …
The Real Folk Blues…
Yuuto began playing Hina the song she loved to hear, one of the first he played for her. In this moment it felt like time was endless. He played the song connecting with her very soul as she lay there smiling at peace. Yuuto probably played that song seventeen times if not more that night, she loved it so much, and he wanted to be sure it was the last thing she heard. As Hina drifted into her final slumber, Yuuto continued to play with tears streaming down his face. When the machine finally went off to alert that her heart had stopped, he simply cut it off.
Yuuto: I won’t let anything else disturb you…
He dropped to his knees crying as he gripped her lifeless cold hand. Hina had passed away leaving behind a void that was neither full nor empty. Then that’s when it happened, the moment that would eternally change Yuuto’s llife. As if by some weird divinity Hina’s body started to glow, Yuuto felt the warm light stepping back as he observed in awe.
If this is where you thought I was going to tell you something of revival you’re sadly mistaken, because the glow that enveloped Hina turned into a burst of azure flames that started to consume her. These flames had runes dancing inside of them as well lacing her body. Yuuto tried to scream but he couldn’t utter a word. For some reason he was completely locked up as well stuck in a stasis of some sort. I couldn’t’ tell you how long it took, as all sense of time became lost in this moment. Hina’s body slowly began to dissipate into the azure flames as if melding with them, and then soon those flames turned into a stream of energy that entered Yuuto. As it invaded his body he saw flashes of images, moments that invoked a warm feeling in his heart. He saw glimpses of people he didn’t know but resided in the Cloud village, he saw Hina standing in front of a mirror, a stage as if he was on it singing to a crowd. Then he saw images of himself, and moments where he smiled and laughed. He felt warmer than before especially when he saw himself play music. It became apparent to him that he was not experiencing his own life but Hina’s. He was seeing and feeling pieces of her life as she flowed into him.
Then it all went dark, and he awoke in a world of darkness with only a stage in the center of it that shone like the moon. On this stage was Hina in a beautiful dress, her hair pulled back, and her beautiful eyes glistening in full luster.
Hina: This is Goodbye Yuuto, I just want you to know I’ve loved every moment we spent together, and you’ve made the end of my life some of the best moments I’ve ever had. I think we were destined to meet eachother so that you could finally find your purpose… [She begins to fade]
Yuuto: Wait Hina don’t go
Hina: I don’t think I have a choice Yuuto, but I’ll always be here [She points at her heart] right here inside
Yuuto: But this purpose, I don’t get it, why did we meet like this?
Hina: Simple silly… to live.
Yuuto snapped back into reality is if being whiplashed from back to front. His eyes were blurry and he couldn’t really make out much. His ears were ringing, he was in a ton of pain. Yuuto writhed on the ground before covering his ears and shutting his eyes hard. He tried to block out the pain but he couldn’t, however this shutting out gave him comfort because when he closed his eyes he could see Hina. Her warm smile is the only thing that caught him, as he once again regained control over his body with tears streaming down his face.
So you may be wondering what happened reader, what exactly happened to Hina and Yuuto? Well Yuuto’s abilities activated as if they were trying to reach out and hold onto Hina.
Inadvertently he began the process of absorbing her being into his own.
Yuuto then experienced her life in broken moments, but none the less he got see and feel her life.
They were able to see eachother again in the Soul Space (remember whenever Sora goes into a weird place in Kingdom Hearts? Think like that room) and converse one last time where she gave him part of her will.
Yuuto waking up with hazy vision and ringing ears are Hina’s Hashigaki traits struggling to manifest, and him closing his eyes was his way of focusing without knowing of course. Seeing Hina was his hearts reminder that she’s always with him now.
This manifestation will take time to develop which Yuuto will of course train it over time.
OOC: So this is the end of my Kinjutsu, Bloodline, and Core Ability Application. To summarize
-Yuuto utilized his history of ability swapping and chakra control to learn how to channel chakra through different mediums starting with his harmonica while he was in prison.
-He has justification for these abilities due to my frequent switching of BL/CA that got approved
-The Chimera is described as a gene mutation within his Clan that he does have much knowledge nor any of this “seed” which will play a major role in his plot.
-Hina, the Hashigaki woman he took care of in the hospital eventually passed in front of him and his chakra reactively reached out to her dwindled life force to enact the ritual to meld her being into his.
-Take note that Cadency happened over the course of a few years, while Chimera has been brewing in Yuuto for a very long time but now is manifesting in full. Yuuto is in his 30s and received the seed when he was 11 so it’s been more or less brewing for 19 years.
