Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

One of the most powerful and feared clans known to the shinobi world, the Uchiha have been rumored to be anything from geniuses to a clan of demons. Their most infamous ability is a unique eye condition that appears in some of the more prodigious talents with Uchiha Blood, the Sharingan. This powerful doujutsu give's this clan a variety of abilities that range from perfect mimicry, to casting some of the most deep illusions without so much as a blink of an eye. Many fear the abilities of the Uchiha, and rightly so, for there is hardly an Uchiha that is not destined for greatness within the shinobi world.

Sharingan - Activated Passive<i></i>
The Sharingan is a unique Eye condition occurring only to those with Uchiha blood. Rumor has it that these eyes stemmed from the Byakugan as a mutation, and they do have similar properties to back this theory up such as allowing the user to view chakra. The Sharingan allows the user to comprehend the attack of an opponent almost before the attacker knows what attack they are making, this is done through tracking their movements by studying their chakra. The user's proficiency with this ability is visible through the amount of Tomoe circling the pupil, and with more mastery, the user will unlock more and more of it's capabilities.

Rank 1: Fire Jutsu damage is increased by 5%.
Rank 2: Fire Jutsu damage is increased by 10%.
Rank 3: Fire Jutsu damage is increased by 15%.

---

Insidious Gaze - Passive
Perhaps the most deadly of the well-known Uchiha abilities is a nameless genjutsu that they are capable of putting opponents under in order to alter their perceptions. In reality, this is simply the Uchiha's ability to utilize their genjutsu talents by simply gazing into the eye's of a victim with their hypnotic sharingan, casting an illusion upon those who meet their gaze.

Rank 1: Genjutsu may be cast through the Sharingan, requiring no handseals and gaining +1 DC
Rank 2: Genjutsu may be cast through the Sharingan, requiring no handseals and gaining +1.5 DC
Rank 3: Genjutsu may be cast through the Sharingan, requiring no handseals and gaining +2 DC

Special Action: When casting Genjutsu through eye contact, the user may choose to activate a special effect. If chosen then the Genjutsu cannot be partially effective. Should the Genjutsu be 50% or more successful it is treated as a full hit, otherwise it is treated as a miss.

Notes:
- Requires eye contact, and for the Sharingan to be active.

---

Precognition - Passive
The Sharingan wields the power to allow the user to view chakra visibly in their environment so long as it is active. With training, the Uchiha are able to focus this trait to the point where they can track the movements of their opponents by honing in on their chakra; a skill that enables them to view movements before they are made and react accordingly, giving the illusion that the Sharingan may see into the future.

Rank 1: +6% Auto Hit to all attacks.
Rank 2: +8% Auto Hit to all attacks.
Rank 3: +10% Auto Hit to all attacks.

---

Copy Skill - Activated Passive<i></i>
Probably the most infamous trait of the Sharingan is it's ability to perfectly memorize anything its gaze wanders upon with perfect detail, allowing the Uchiha to mimic techniques nearly simultaneously as a victim performs them, which has manifested itself as legend that they can see the future.

Rank 1: Allows the user to use and copy any level 1-4 Jutsu used during the last round.
Rank 2: Allows the user to use and copy any level 1-6 Jutsu used during the last round.
Rank 3: Allows the user to use and copy any Jutsu used during the last round.

Cost: This skill costs no Ap or CP, however all copied jutsu cost normal Ap and their CP/Hp costs are increased by +20%.

Notes:
- The user's Sharingan must have been active during the time the jutsu was used, and the user must have had full vision of the target.
- When used, the user chooses any jutsu from the previous round and may use it regardless of whether they know it or not. After use, this Jutsu is memorized, and may be used for the remainder of the battle.
- All copied jutsu have a 5% of failing per Jutsu Level (A level seven would have a 35% Chance of failing, for example).
- Only 3 techniques can be remembered at once. Further copying would require the user to overwrite previously memorized techniques, costing CP equal to 2x the forgotten Jutsu's cost.
- The user must meet the Rank and stat requirements to use a Jutsu (A C-Rank cannot copy a Level 8, for example), and may not copy Bloodline, Core Ability, or Kinjutsu techniques.
- These techniques are copied at the rank they were used, and may be remembered and used for the remainder of the battle.
- User must be wielding the correct weapon(s) to copy a Taijutsu and must be able to perform handseals to replicate a Ninjutsu or Genjutsu.

---

Hypnotic Suggestion - Doujutsu Genjutsu<i></i>
The Sharingan's ability to induce illusions into the minds of others is a powerful one, that the Uchiha can learn to overcome the mind and senses of another, subtly altering their mind to put them under a powerful hypnosis, an issuing them commands without the victim even second guessing their own manipulated thoughts.

Rank 1: Allows the Uchiha to hypnotize their target at -2 Gen DC, causing them to either attack a target with a level 1-4 Jutsu, Use/Drop/equip/unequip an item, Switch/Drop/Enter a style, or remain motionless for 1 Ap.
Rank 2: Allows the Uchiha to hypnotize their target at -1 Gen DC, causing them to either attack a target with a level 1-5 Jutsu, Use/Drop/equip/unequip an item, Switch/Drop/Enter a style, or remain motionless for 1.5 Ap.
Rank 3: Allows the Uchiha to hypnotize their target, causing them to either attack a target with a level 1-6 Jutsu, Use/Drop/equip/unequip an item, Switch/Drop/Enter a style, or remain motionless for 2 Ap.

Cost: 2 AP; 400 CP to initiate.

Notes:
- - Does not use handseals, but requires the Sharingan's Eye contact. This is treated as a Will Genjutsu.
- Upon use, the user must choose an action they wish their victim to perform.
- When causing the victim to attack with a Jutsu, the victim must know the technique and the user must have witnessed the technique performed previously during battle to be aware of it. The target can never attack themselves.
- For any actions involving items, it must be either visible or previously used in battle.
- Genjutsu used this way are treated as fully successful or fully unsuccessful, a victim cannot be partially effected. If it is a 50% or more hit, it's counted as a full hit, Otherwise, it's counted as a miss.

---

Genjutsu Reversal - Specialty Genjutsu<i></i>
The insidious gaze of the Sharingan is said to penetrate even the most detailed illusions, and not only is the user capable of viewing details far more clearly, the sharingan also possesses a hypnotic ability to entrap a victim within their own illusion.

Rank 1: Reverses a Genjutsu used on the Sharingan user.
Rank 2: Reverses a Genjutsu used on the Sharingan user.
Rank 3: Reverses a Genjutsu used on the Sharingan user.

- All costs of maintaining the genjutsu are taken on by the user.
- A Genjutsu check is made between the Uchiha and user of the Genjutsu. If the Uchiha succeeds, they successfully reverse the Genjutsu.
- With each successful use, the victim gains +1.5 to their Genjutsu Check.

Mangekyou Sharingan - Activated Passive<i></i>
The Mangekyou Sharingan is a heightened form of Sharingan, and is distinguished from a normal Sharingan through its appearance, which changes the form of the tomoe. The appearance of the mangekyou differs from user to user based upon their own traits, there are hardly ever two Uchiha with the same pattern. In this stage the Sharingan is far more powerful and has the potential to utilize very powerful techniques, although the sheer amount of chakra utilized can have damaging backlash upon the User's eyesight, slowly deteriorating their Vision.

Rank 1: +2 Dodge, +2 Accuracy.
Rank 2: +2.5 Dodge, +2.5 Accuracy.
Rank 3: +3 Dodge, +3 Accuracy.

Costs:
Rank 1: .5AP; 600 CP to initiate, 290 CP/Rnd

---

Tsukiyomi - Doujutsu Genjutsu<i></i>
Utilizes the Mangekyou sharingan to create a hellish genjutsu of which the user has complete control. This technique is feared and believed the most powerful Genjutsu, and can last anywhere from 24 to 72 hours in the targets mind, but in reality only lasts a couple seconds. While powerful, this technique causes immense strain upon the user's eye's and leaves them vulnerable by damaging their eyesight, and cannot be used without resting the eye's first.

Rank 1: An illusion that creates a round within a round during which the victim cannot take any actions and suffers -2 dodge. In the illusion, the user gets AP equal to their AP/1.5. When the illusion ends the user will have only spent chakra equal to 50% of the chakra spent in the illusion and the victim only takes damage equal to 50% of the damage dealt to them in the illusion.
Rank 2: An illusion that creates a round within a round during which the victim cannot take any actions and suffers -3 dodge. In the illusion, the user gets AP equal to their AP/1.5 +.5. When the illusion ends the user will have only spent chakra equal to 50% of the chakra spent in the illusion and the victim only takes damage equal to 60% of the damage dealt to them in the illusion.
Rank 3: An illusion that creates a round within a round during which the victim cannot take any actions and suffers -4 dodge. In the illusion, the user gets AP equal to their AP/1.5 +1. When the illusion ends the user will have only spent chakra equal to 50% of the chakra spent in the illusion and the victim only takes damage equal to 70% of the damage dealt to them in the illusion.

Cost: 3 AP; 2000 CP, Hp equal to 20% of the final damage done.

Notes:
- Requires Mangekyou Sharingan to be activated, and Eye contact.
- All battle rules remain the same if not mentioned.
- Jutsu that last more than one round end when the illusion does.
- May only be used on a target once successfully in a battle. Â
- All damage done in this illusion is "Illusionary" And damage cannot be reduced. Jutsu used in the Tsukiyomi cannot be buffed by Non-Genjutsu effects.
- Physical debuffs, such as bleed, poison and Nin/Tai debuffs and effects do not transfer into or out of the Tsukiyomi created world, but mental ones, generally genjutsu based, do.
- Because the Tsukiyomi is instantaneous and lasts a few seconds at most, this does not dispel any other Genjutsu active on the victim.

Amaterasu - Doujutsu Ninjutsu<i></i>
While Tsukuyomi is considered the most powerful Genjutsu, this technique is it's counterpart, claimed to be the most powerful Ninjutsu, and with good reason too. This infamous Technique creates Hellish Jet-black Flames spontaneously at the center of the user's vision, and once released these flames are said to burn for days without end before becoming extinguished. These cursed flames are said to be as hot as the sun, and little is capable of stopping this fire from consuming everything in it's path...Except for the Bleeding of the user's eye's as a result of the tremendous energy released from the sharingan.

Rank 1: Ignites the Uchiha's point of vision in black flames at +2 accuracy, causing 2,000 Fire Damage a round.
Rank 2: Ignites the Uchiha's point of vision in black flames at +2 accuracy, causing 2,400 Fire Damage a round.
Rank 3: Ignites the Uchiha's point of vision in black flames at +2 accuracy, causing 2,850 Fire Damage a round.

Special Action - Kagutsuchi: Instead of Covering a target in Amaterasu, the user may coat themselves in a shield of Black Flames, Hp equal to Amaterasu +40%. This effect lasts one round, and if a melee attack is used against the user the attacker must make a Ninjutsu check against the Uchiha to determine if they take damage equal to "Amaterasu's" Damage. A target may only take damage from attacking this barrier once per round.

Costs:
Rank 1: 3 Ap; 2,000 CP and 670 Hp to initiate, 630 Hp and 320 CP per round maintained.
Rank 2: 3 Ap; 2,250 CP and 750 Hp to initiate, 715 Hp and 360 CP per round maintained.
Rank 3: 3 Ap; 2,500 CP and 840 Hp to initiate, 800 Hp and 400 CP per round maintained.

Notes:
- Requires Mangekyou Sharingan to be activated.
- After the initial "To-Hit" roll, Amaterasu automatically deals it's fire damage to its target every round without fail as long as the Uchiha can still see their target. As such, this may only be used on one target at a time.
- The first round damage is dealt as soon as Amaterasu hits but hits at the beginning of every round after.
- Amaterasu automatically bypasses barriers, armors and shields and also ignores any and all Damage Reduction.
- Damage done and blocked may be increased with Fire buffs.
-This jutsu does not stack in any way or form.
- The special is considered a Chakra Armor.

Main Branch/ANBU/Med-Nin: Not sure. ANBU maybe? If they could be accepting into it (given the Sunan nationalism) despite them being a relative newcomer to Sunagakure. However, they have spent years hiding their identity, living as a nuke-nin in hiding, so they have in-depth knowledge of such subterfuge. Additionally, a generally distrustful disposition and a genetically awakened eye for detail render her exceptionally observant.

IC Rank: Now please select your IC rank within that branch. Cannot choose Sennin. Some ranks (Chief/Captain) may be considered special ranks in some villages.

Character Age: (Consciousness-wise) 23

Gender: ostensibly female

Character's Physical Description:

Female body: Woman roughly in her early-to-mid twenties. Deep red hair. Usually left long. Lithe, but not frail-looking. Scarred in numerous places where it would normally not show under clothing. Rough, calloused hands. About 5'3" in height and perhaps 120 lbs wet.

Male body: Blonde hair, fine-featured, very feminine in appearance. Slim, but tall. Roughly 5'11 and about 160 lbs in weight. Soft, uncalloused hands. Hair typically artfully coiffured.

Both: Rinnegan eyes.

Character's Mental Description: They're still a bit tentative around new people, though they've shown a marked boisterousness the few instances when people have gotten past their guarded facade. Driven, prone to quick anger at the sign of others intending to take advantage of them. Generally amiable but distant. Slow to forgive, if not utterly unforgiving. They don't discuss their past. Not without reason better than any they've yet been given.

Character History: The woman later known as Nanashi was the daughter of an Uchiha woman and a man from a foreign clan. Her father died when she was still a young girl, and her mother remarried. She had always been closer to her father than mother. That didn't change when her new step-father turned out to have little more than contempt for his red-headed stepchild. A relentless taskmaster, her mother's new husband drove her to and beyond all point of what she'd have considered reason in attempts to force her to awaken his new clan's doujutsu, determined as he was to gain prestige within his adoptive clan in spite of his own lack of potential in that direction.

It succeeded, in the long run, with her gaining access to the Sharingan, and later, the Mangekyou.
It only got worse after her mother had died, with her step-father using her as a subject for experiments in dark and forbidden ninjutsu, inscribing a fell potential into her very skin.

When the Leaf civil war intensified, she used the chaos of the war to leave, disguising herself as a refugee fleeing the crisis and going from small village to small village as an itinerant farmhand. She learned to hide from ninja of all sorts, and she succeeded at it for years. She was eventually found out. She fled the fight that came after and into the deep desert of Wind Country. She nearly died in the running pursuit, only surviving on account of the awakening of a potential she'd never known she had.
Two went into the desert; two arrived at Sunagakure's gates. Both bore identical eyes and moved with an uncanny certainty of the other's motions. They offered no names, simply calling themselves the Nameless. Half-dead from exhaustion, sunburn, and blood loss, they nonetheless made it to the gates and stood defiant before the challenging sentries.

Re: Reactivation (Rikudo Sennin application, Path+body app)

She ran, her feet kicking up a spray of sand behind her as eh clambered her way, hands and feet scrabbling for purchase, to the dune's pinnacle. Reaching the summit, she whirled in a spray of particulate to peer behind her. Seeing a half-blurred shape flitting toward her, she threw herself backwards and into a rolling dive down the far side of the dune. As she struggled to right her reckless careening course, she felt as much as heard the dune above her send forth a spray of sand from where the foe's projectiles cratered her previous perch. Still rolling out of control down the dune, she threw out a hand to give a point of stability. Digging her fingers into the searing silicate, she finally managed to turn her tumble into a controlled slide roughly halfway down the immense sand-bank. Knowing she needed speed, she pulled her steering arm up, shut her good eye in case she overbalanced and landed face first in the sand, and she pushed up with her feet, arms cartwheeling as she struggled to regain her balance from rolling down the near slope of the dune.

Having managed to regain her balance after some difficulty, she shut her overworked right eye and peered upwards with her clearer left. She still lacked depth perception, but under the circumstances, she preferred a clear but flat view of the sky to a half-blurred view that pretended to give her a gauge for how far the flying foe was from her. Eye widening as she sighted a white-hued streak bee-lining for a few feet in front of her, she dug her feet in, crouched, and launched herself into an arcing front flip over the suddenly exploding section of sand. Setting her hands rushing through an old, familiar series of seals, she sent a burst of bright red flames rushing upwards to intersect her enemy's attack. Kick off the sand again, she was thrown into a headlong tumble by the explosion of the clay projectiles she'd ignited. Landing at the bottom of the sand incline, she saw the enemy circling above, atop an immense avian form crafted from what she knew to be chakra-infused clay. Already she'd managed to destroy one of the creations, her doujutsu wreathing the irritating avian in a rime of black flame and sending the rider flailing through the sky and into a sand-dune prior to his simply summoning up another mount to pursue her. That had been two days ago, shortly after the rocky countryside of Tsuchi no Kuni had given way to the barren sands of Kaze no Kuni. She didn't know how long she'd run through this seemingly endless, nearly featureless plain of heat and sand, but she knew she was nearing her utter limit.

Sending a flight of shuriken arcing up to intercept another flock of explosive avians, she returned her mind to the present. The past would wait. For now, she had to see to it that she had a future worth speaking about.
______________________________________________________________________________

It had begun at the Tsuchi no Kuni border. She had been hidden amidst a group of villagers, having fallen in with them well over a year ago as a temporary farmhand and work-help. Since the war with the samurai, she'd wandered for years, mostly disguising herself as a villager or a traveling storyteller or instrumentalist. There had been close calls in the past, several coming from her being challenged on account of her true-red, blood red hair. She'd tried dying it a more regular brown or black hue, but she always managed to run out of the dye at inconvenient times. She'd taken to just leaving it as was lately. Someone not bothering to hide anything typically drew less concern than someone clearly obscuring their identity, anyway. And few people looked twice at clearly scarred and calloused farmgirls, as she'd oft appeared to be. A roughening of the manners, a sullen sort of stare, and she'd fit that mold with relative ease.
She still had no idea what gave her away, this time. The sentry, who she'd at first taken to be a woman from the delicate cast of his features, took her hand in his. She met the gesture with a sort of resentful expression of fear, which frankly she hadn't had to feign in the least. However, when she felt a tongue running across the underside of her wrist, she panicked, lashing out with a solid left hook straight into pretty-boy's eye. Her own heart hammering, she wrenched her wrist free, and she started running for the border. That had been one, one-and-a-half weeks ago. She wasn't sure which. Her bone-deep weariness only managed to ebb when she succeeded in giving her enemy the slip, and that came infrequently, if ever.

Already her right eye, her Mangekyou, so jealously reserved in the years since her departure from Konoha, was beginning to dim, to render her half-blind. In the past week, she'd used her doujutsu more than in over five years of hiding and drifting from place to place. Already she had difficulty distinguishing from blurring from the heatwaves rising off distant dunes and loss of vision from use of her Sharingan. Spitting out a mouthful of grit from where a missed clay-bomb in the last barrage had slipped past her fire-jutsu and sent her sprawling face-first into the desert sand, she staggered upright and stepped on, catching herself and turning the step into an extended limp as a singed calf muscle threatened to cease functioning. Wavering, her vision swimming from more than just pain or exhaustion, she ignored the terrified sinking sensation in the pit of her stomach and aimed a baleful glare directly at the enemy, who circled above, perched atop his avian artefact, like some sort of overgrown, explosive vulture.
"WELL?!" She screamed up at him. "THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE WAITING FOR, ISN'T IT? FOR ME TO TIRE?" She stopped, gulping down one lungful of the hot, dry desert air then another before continuing, "WELL THIS IS IT! I...THIS ENDS NOW! YOU WANT ME? COME GET ME! OTHERWISE," she willed one last, desperate flood of chakra into her eyes, even as the searing pain began and she could feel her own blood running down her cheek, her entire right eye's sight turning a blood-smeared crimson. She laughed bitterly at that. She would die seeing nothing but the color she was named for. The color her mother's (and for that matter her own) hair had been.

Affixing her enemy's creation with one last glare, the nameless woman willed forth an ebon inferno she knew would steal the last of her sight. An immense explosion above her sent her rolling, tail over teakettle, through the desert dust. She tried to scream, both at the sensation of her eye set afire and at the way the shockwave tore open old wounds only recently matted over and grudgingly healed from clashes earlier in the chase, but all she accomplished was a mouthful sand, and a sense of drowning in dirt. Coughing loose the particulate, she spat and shoveled what of it she could from her mouth, before collapsing, bleeding, to the ground. She wasn't sure how long she lay there, fading in and out of consciousness before she finally got enough of a hold of her senses to focus her clear left eye on the sky above her, only to see her dogged pursuer poised, blade in hand, in the air above her prone form. Letting out a ragged groan, she gazed eye to eye with her enemy, as bedraggled and burnt as she was, his skin peeling, red and blistered where burns hadn't marred it. His blood-matted blond hair hung lank across his face as he hovered above, swaying with his own struggle to stay conscious. "Why can't you just let me go?" She finally managed to rasp through a ragged throat. He held his stance, staring hard at her, before opining, "Art is temporary. Like life. If I abandoned meaning, what would my art be worth?" She stared at him, incredulous at first, before agony at having forgotten her ruined eye was in the shape it was led her to try to look left, sending a wave of pain radiating from the ruined eye.
Taking a deep breath, her heart hammering despite her desperate desire to just, for once, rest. To see an end to all the last years of running. To see an end to this struggle, she felt an irrepressible laugh bubble up from the pit of her stomach, not stopping for the agony that was her heat-ravaged throat, not stopping for the pain of her burnt and battered sides, not stopping for the realization that it made no sense to laugh, not when she was certainly, finally, inevitably going to die. Here, so far from anything she'd ever known. So far from the clansmen that had hated her, the step-mother that had belittled her, the siblings that had spited her at every turn. And yet, in a way, it meant she won. None of them had the slightest hand in causing her demise. She found that hilarious. She was dying, sure. But she'd done it. She'd told them they'd never see her again, and she'd been right. She'd escaped them. Lived on her own terms. Sure, dying alone, unmourned, battered and burnt in the middle of the barren wastes of Kaze no Kuni was...not ideal, but she'd lived and died on her own means. She'd shaken their hooks from her and never been caught by them.
She smiled up at her enemy with a mouthful of blood, her teeth stained the same shade as her hair around their edges. "Then go ahead. Heh." She coughed, a laugh failing to burble up again. "Kill me then. I...," she gasped, finally catching her breath. "I still. Nnngh. I still," she waited, her breathing stabilizing as she shut her eyes tight against the agony of what she suspected to be a broken rib, if not several. "I still won."

"I...can respect that," her pursuer said in solemn tones before raising the kunai, two-handed, above his head. As he drove the blade down toward her sternum, she opened both eyes, intent on facing the end in a way that would have made her father proud. Defiant to the end, she even tried, desperately, hopelessly, her heart hammering in her chest, to open her eyes again, to again call upon the Mangekyou. To trap him in illusion, to burn them both to ash with Amaterasu, anything to accomplish one final act of defiance. She knew it was hopeless. Her chakra had run dry after the last gout of ebon flames, and she doubted she could even survive another attempt. Still, she was dying either way. What did she have left to lose?
Her Sharingan didn't respond. To her shock, something did. Her ruined eye's sight suddenly returned, and once more she could see where his blow would land, the ghost of his chakra system once more telegraphing the move. Drawing on a last, desperate well of effort, she jerked her body to the side, sending the both toppling down the last few feet of the dune they were on to rest in the mid-dune valley beneath, even as his blade embedded itself in her shoulder. Feeling the rekindling of her sense of cosmic unfairness and outrage at the circumstances once more setting her soul afire, she gritted her bloody teeth and, set a hand against his face and-acting on instinct-willed her chakra to pull. Her eyes shot wide open as she felt a rush of chakra enter her emptied system, giving her the strength for one last jutsu. Still following the insistent call of instincts she couldn't remember having, she allowed her chakra to distill itself into an ebon blade in one hand, and, crawling across the searing sands, she drove the dagger-length weapon into his side at an angle intended to pierce his lung and drown him in his own blood.
She didn't remain conscious for long enough to know what happened next. Her plateau'd adrenaline finally bottoming out and sending her deep into dark unconsciousness.

When she awoke, it was dark, and her world was fire and pain. She tried moving, but searing agony sent her back to stillness, hoping that would keep it from getting worse. She could feel the skin on her neck, shoulders, and back crinking and aching from where her movement pressed water-blisters together. What was worse, she had chosen the wrong hand to try and lift herself to her feet, and the kunai embedded in her shoulder had made the blistering sunburn feel like a loving caress by comparison. With no way of telling the passage of time, she still had no idea how long she'd been out. Opening aching eyes, she saw her head had come to rest atop the back of her now-still foe. carefully marshalling what strength she'd managed to recoup, she pulled her legs beneath her and used her good arm to try to push herself upright. It took three tries, but eventually she managed as much as to get herself seated in an upright position. Gazing from the unmoving body before her to the unmoving stars speckling the sky above her, she let out a wheezing, pained laugh. She didn't know how she'd done it, but she'd survived again.

A surge of irritation prompting it, she felt another of those black chakra-daggers coalescing in one hand, then a second in the other. She stabbed them both in the back of the corpse. She winced as the motion tore her kunai-wound open and sent a trickle of blood soaking into her singed, torn, and otherwise thoroughly ruined rough-spun dress. She glowered, noticing the ragged, awful state of her clothes now. She'd made that dress herself, dammit, and if it wasn't the most artfully sewn, well, she'd never exactly had training in that sort of thing when she'd been a kunoichi. Her relatives had solely had interest in her for her chance of manifesting the clan doujutsu. To hell with everythign else, she had the chance to (and did, as it turned out) become as substantial an asset as a disposable sharingan user. She'd put up with years of mistreatment and abuse from her step-father, all in the name of adding another bearer of the sharingan to the clan, all to improve his status.

A naive part of her had thought that would have gotten better when she finally managed it, but no, that had only led him to drive her harder. She would become one of the foremost users of the clan doujutsu, or she would die trying...he'd made sure she'd known that. The year her mother passed, the first year of the war, that had been the hardest. Time and again her father had her sent to the front lines of the war with the samurai. So much death, so much pain. Finally, it had become too much. Ironically, the mission that finally awakened her potential for the Mangekyou also served as the final provocation. Upon dragging herself back from the fight, she didn't bother stopping at what laughably passed for 'home'. She simply kept going, knowing that border patrols would be too busy keeping watch outward, eyes peeled for samurai invaders, to stop her. One henge later, she simply walked out of the village among a group of rural refugees, leaving with the exodus of simple folk too afraid to stay caught between the two powerful factions.

She'd wandered the countryside for years after that, going from one farming village to another, offering help with the farm-work, but never letting herself get too attached, never letting herself be well known. It had felt close a time or two, but eventually she'd gotten what felt far enough away from Konoha to breathe easy. Perhaps that had been her mistake. She wasn't sure. She still didn't know what had given her away. Was she too tense passing through the Iwagakure gate? She'd never know now, not with the only person who could've told her dead. Scowling down at his back, she sent a spiteful kick against his ribs, taking some small satisfaction at the sound of cracked ribs. Served him right. She shook her head, reaching under her waist to draw forth the thing that had given her away. Her old...no, her father's old headband. Still scuffed and scratched from years without careful care, but still too precious to her to simply abandon. Finding that beneath the waist of her dress had proven whatever suspicion the sentry had had about her, and from there, there had only been a seemingly endless chase into the desert.
Looking around, she couldn't even tell where they were, trapped between two dunes as the pair currently were. Sighing, she lay back down, striving to marshal her strength before she made herself pull out the kunai in her shoulder. If she left it, there was no doubt it would grow infected, but if she pulled it out only to pass out from shock, then it was likely she would bleed to death before she managed to wake again. Slowly maneuvering herself to a seated position, she began rummaging through what remained of the Iwa-nin's bags. She frowned, dissappointed to find nothing but clay and clay figurines in most of them, then blinked and looked more intently at them as she realized both clay and figurines had been imbued with the dead man's chakra. In several cases, she could...somehow...read powerful fire jutsu woven into the clay's substance. She wasn't sure precisely how she knew that. Her sharingan were definitely resting. She was sure of that. Wasn't she? But, if so, then why could she see the chakra as clear as day? Shaking her head, she continued to rummage, finally finding a spare blade among the man's ninja tools. Taking it to his shirt, she created makeshift bandages from the cloth, setting them ready to staunch her bleeding when she pulled free the kunai from her flesh.

Steeling herself against expected pain, she pulled free the weapon, quickly pulling the bindings tight against the flow of blood from the newly reopened wound. Tying tightly as she could with the tenderness of her broken ribs, she let herself lie on the cool sand again, waiting for the throb of agony to subside. Eventually it did. Carefully, she rose back to a seated, then a squatting position. Standing still there, she noticed an odd sensation. An awareness of a sort. She hadn't been able to make it out through the sheer pain before, but there was a sense of...pressure coming from...coming from her back, yet somehow not. Frowning, she closed her eyes and tried to isolate the sense, letting her awareness of her pains, of the cold night air, of the grit of the sand beneath her bare and bloodied feet recede. Finally, she placed it. It was...a sense of chakra, power, coalesced within those blades she'd used before. Unsure why, but following an impulse, she set both her hands against the black bladed rods and let her chakra flow into them. As she did, she felt her awareness of the blades blossom outward, into an awareness of the body's back and muscles. She even felt, with a wince that drew pain from her own broken bones, the cracked rib she'd given him. However, that awareness seemed to cease some distance from the rods. Frowning, horrified, yet more curious than she could remember being for years, she formed more of them, smaller ones, and began to set them into other places across his body until she could feel a sense of his entirety.

That done, she felt her endurance waver, the effort making her lightheaded. Losing her feet, she threw her hands out to catch herself, only to have a pair of strong arms catch her. Shocked by the sense of simultaneously catching herself and being caught by herself, she didn't manage to make it at all graceful, drawing twin groans of pain at the feeling of redoubled pain from broken ribs. Hearing the voice of her pursuer groan as well, she panicked and began scrabbling to extricate herself from whatever was holding her, only be dazed by the realization that she could feel herself struggling against...herself? Finally extricating her....selves? From one another, she took slow, steady breaths to calm herself before daring to look at the supposedly dead body she'd fallen onto.

Why could she see her own face? And what had happened to her eyes? Why were they silvery-purple and filled with concentric rings? And why were his/other-hers. And why wasn't there an adequate word for seeing another person's body and feeling the sense of "that's me" you got when looking in a mirror? Groaning, she lay back on the sand, exhaustion's toll driving her lids down. Perhaps the world would make more sense in the morning.
It didn't. But...determined to make the best of her senseless survival, she had her...self hold up her...self? Dammit, she was going to have to figure out new ways to think about herself, wasn't she? Deciding that sounded like the kind of effort that wasn't worth it unless she had a warm bath and a full belly, she/they supported herself/themselves on their trek forward through the desert, only taking a moment to bury both headbands as memorials to lives now ended.

Now to tally the cost of just the justu whose rank I can remember and (aside from the last three) which still exist in some recognizable form or another.

E: 450
15 (6750)

D: 1200
18 (21600)

C: 3250
26 (84500)

B: 7500
25 (187500)

A: 12500
19 (237500)

Total: 537,850 Yen.

That's ignoring that half or more of the jutsu I once had don't exist anymore. Similarly, it's ignoring that several of the mentioned jutsu once cost way more yen.

The user name would have the be the character name, even if your surname means nameless.

Uh ... kinjutsu will get back to you on this. Could you just ... maybe fix some of the spacing on it? It is a bit of a clunky read at the moment

Rank ... well ... can't do sennin, but jounin or a high chuunin?

I'm not sure if you can use the Uzimaki clan or Wave country... will need to investigate this.

Leaf stuff will require approvals but not from me.

Stats ... waiting to hear back from someone on this.

Will do. Sorry about that. I typed it all up in Word in one go, then pasted it into the reply box. In that case, I guess change character name to just the surname? Calling all of them Akane seems unlikely to make any sense down the line, if that makes any sense whatsoever.

The sennin thing was a joke at my own expense.

As for the clan, just trying to keep consistent with the manga source of the Rinnegan to what degree I'm able. It was either Uzumaki or Senju, given that. Pretty sure the Senju died out after Tsunade never had any kids, didn't they? Plus the Uzumaki clan (i.e: the one Kushina and Nagato were from). Not aiming to have a character descended from canon characters, just trying to keep it in line with how the Kekkei Mora got passed down. Same way a character with a particular bloodline would be related (at the very least distantly) to someone who at some point was a proper member of the clan in question. (I.e: even if their surname isn't Nara, someone with their bloodline is related to someone for whom it was somewhere up the line.)

As for the other...used the numbers listed. Subtracted requisites for needed masteries and for ASP purchases, then divided remaining points around, shifting a few out of her weak area and into her strength (taijutsu --> ninjutsu).

If that's the case, would Senju be available? I mean, I guess I could stretch it and say the Mokuton BL clan, but the write up for it expressly says they distrust the Uchiha, so any mix thereof feels a bit too "Romeo and Juliet" for my taste.

Also note that although we are related to the Naruto Canon, we are not based on its universe.
Meaning, Naruto, Hashirama, etc, never existed in our universe.

The Senju Clan has no relation to a specific bloodline.
Below is the current information about the Senju Clan (although not entirely up to date).
proxyStainless_Steel_Senju_Clan_by_UchihaItachi121NCbanner.jpg

Clan Name: Senju

Motto: The weak shall be culled, only the strong shall survive.

Banner: A bleeding tree stabbed by a sword. On forehead protectors and charms however, there are those that wear the archaic double root insignia from Konohagakure lore.

Political Structure:

  • </COLOR>[*]Overlord - The Supreme Leader. All decisions regarding the clan are made by him.
[*]Advisor - The second in command of the clan. Advisors advise the Overlord. In the absence of the Overlord, the Advisors act as a Duet and lead the clan.
[*]Tree Warden - A ceremonial rank, awarded to the most trustworthy Senju. This member has the full-time job of protecting the tree and conducting the Joining.
[*]Full Member - The most numerous rank. After undertaking the Joining, every Senju becomes a Full Member. They are now allowed to freely enter the area where the Senju's Sacred Tree are and they can drink the sap.
[*]Initiate - Every Senju that has yet to do the Joining is an initiate. Initiates have no knowledge of the Joining, of the Sacred Tree or of the Sap.
Member List
Senju Kazuki - Overlord
Senju Tadao - Advisor
Senju Amegatsu - Full Member
Senju Nagato - Full Member
Senju Natsuru - Full Member
Kazama Yusei - Full Member
Senju Zenichi - Initiate
Senju Ishikio - Initiate

Admission: Anyone can join the Senju Clan, however, doing so will bind them to the Senju Code. It is follow it or die, there is no turning back.

Goals:

  • [*] Defend the Sacred Tree at all costs.
[*] Fiercely Protect Konoha (or Sand).
[*] Seek power through any means.

The Joining: Upon turning 16, all Senjus go through the Joining. Through the use of ancient arts, secretly carried from Overlord to Overlord and Tree Warden to Tree Warden, the young Senju undertakes a millennium old ritual that forever changes them. The young one stands in the middle of a circle. The Tree Warden draws the ceremonial dagger made of jade and carefully stabs their Sacred Tree, collecting the red sap on a jade saucer. After speaking a few mystical words, the Tree Warden gives the jade saucer to the young Senju and he drinks it all. The young Senju then collapses on the floor and only those possessing a strong will and unlimited potential will wake up. If successful, the young awaken Senju will be branded on their chest with the clan's banner, using jade needles and sap as ink.

After-effects of the Joining: The Senju becomes utterly bound to Konoha and becomes compelled to grow stronger through any method of his choosing. Considering that the Sap has an addictive effect, the Senju is forced to periodically drink it (monthly). The tattoo allows each Senju to be consciously aware of the rest of his clan. When one Senju dies, everyone else feels it. (They are incapable of knowing where the death occurred or who killed the Senju). After the exodus to Sand, those born in Sand will be completely loyal to Sand instead. If you choose to be born before this happened, your unflinching loyalty lies with Konohagakure.

Rite of Passage: To become worthy of to do the Joining (age is not enough), a Senju Initiate must confront himself and discover his weaknesses. (In other words, you fight in a modded battle against yourself). If victorious and of the right age, the Senju will be allowed to do the Joining. Those that born from Senju Parents are exempt from this, while those that join it, must do it.

Background: A long time ago, in the time of the Old Konoha, the Senju Clan was present. The old Senju Ways sought to solve all conflicts with diplomacy, resorting to bloodshed only when no other solution could be used. When Konoha's destruction came, through the event called Red Rain, the Senju Clan was powerless to prevent it and it was too weak to stop it. Leaf was destroyed and the Old Senju Clan was seemingly wiped out. A single, young and orphan, Senju boy managed to survive, when countless others couldn't. Senju Zabucho was his name and his survival should be considered a miracle. The conjunction of Zabucho's tears and the Red Rain's water, sprouted the mightiest tree that the world has ever seen, the tree now known as the Senju's Sacred Tree. With nothing to eat, Zabucho resorted to the tree's bountiful sap. However, the tree's sap had been tainted by the Red Rain and so was Zabucho. With each day day he drank, the stronger the boy got and the hungrier for power he became.

Eventually, through Zabucho's great efforts, the Senju Clan was renewed on his own image and their Savior taught the newest generation about the New Senju Ways and about their rites. One day, however, Zabucho simply vanished, leaving no traces behind. The Senju Clan deemed Senju Zabucho as a godly figure and began worshiping, in tandem with their Sacred Tree. Nowadays, the Senju Clan is a mighty force to be reckoned with and the Clan fiercely protects their Tree and Konoha, like a predator protects its hunting area. After the fall of Leaf, the Senju clan wandered the world seeking a new home, until their ancestral lands could be reclaimed. Eventually they found shelter among the people of Sunagakure where an alliance with clan Toraono was made.

Notable People

  • [*]<COLOR color="#404040">Senju Zabucho - Rumored to be from Old Konoha. Zabucho was the first well known Senju and the creator of the current clan and their views. Revered as a godly figure.

And that makes it official, we're handwaving the CLAN WITH REDHEADED NINJAS HER MOTHER CAME FROM to be CLAN WITH REDHEADED NINJAS HER MOTHER CAME FROM WHOSE NAME IS NOT KNOWN. Will correct it.

Done. Moving on from that...putting up the spaced edit of the Kinjutsu application.

I am. I just wrote most of that in one run at like 4am before I left for work at 6am. I fully intended to go in and grab the list of stats in order and put it down visually with PL.

So, was bored today. Went through the list of jutsu and marked the ones I'd had that still existed. Cross-referenced the prices and did the math.

Came out to just over 7 times the amount of yen reactivations get.

Almost.

I just realized your stats was the old site. You will need to use the stat pool you have to form your current stats, monies, and jutsus.

His stats are actually from that 2100 ASP pool. He needs to be given his 75k yen so he can actually buy the jutsus he needs for the various ranks.

Have a list drawn up of planned purchases, which ought to cover all but about 10k of the yen while fitting the requirements for mastery for my OOC rank (12 total, at least 1 of each rank available except A-rank).

Also, can I get my username shifted to Nanashi and have my donation medal added? I ask because I was trying to work on an animated signature. >.>
