Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

No, he wasn't going to do it, No way would Akihiko come from a long journey just to come back home and live with his huge family. Over the past three or so years, Akihiko learned what privacy was, alone time, and His own time. Something that was unknown to his thirteen siblings, and parents. Just this morning his sisters invading the bathroom while he was taking a shower, and acted like nothing was wrong! he was a grown man now, not the little boy they used to know. He needed his own space, and the only way he'd get it was to move out.

So here Akihiko was, looking at a booklet of floor plans to apartments, he was standing outside the complex staring. He had called, and made arrangements later today to be shown a place, but, he decided to come a few hours early to get out of that madhouse he used to call a home. He couldn't believe his older brothers still lived there, the farmhouse wasn't that big, he never knew of the feeling of having his own room until he went out on his tour. "I'll have to work extra had to get my own place, but I won't be able to survive another night in my parent's place." Akihiko stated out loud, with a heavy sigh. Loud enough for anyone nearby to hear.

It was pretty early in the morning, at least for citizens. Most shinobi were up at this time and probably already started the day. With spring on the rise, more missions had come in. Not to count for the world tournament that was going to bring travel missions to a new high. Today was slightly cloudy and cool.

Akihiko stood at 6'1'', he had long purple hair that was held together by a ponytail. His clothing was foreign, but his headband on his right arm showed he was indeed a Konoha shinobi. Some might remember him, but he really was out of the village for the last four to five years, three years ago he left on a research tour, but he really didn't like staying home. THough he realized he should probably focus on his own village now, he was almost an adult now. His village would need him, even if it was peaceful for now.

It was always quiet in the early hours of the morning most in the village being asleep or getting home late after long night shifts at work, Yukio was one of the latter another night spent watching over the village and much to his surprise it had been a night of peace and quite leaving a smile on the Shinobi's face as he sat on his rooftop perch. He wasn't being as subtle as he normally was simply doing the rounds of the village as such his ANBU mask and gear were no where in sight considering half the time he wasn't doing these activities under order but out of habit and an incapability to stay still for long periods of time.

Hanging his leg off the building side letting it dangle freely he seemed to be enjoying the peace that could only really be found during this hour however that did not last long being shattered by someone wandering the streets below as the Hyuuga leaned forward looking down and raising an eyebrow to the statement he heard calling out to the one below. "Sounds rough but you've come to the right place if you want to find work there's plenty to do around here these days." Jumping down Yukio landed on his feet a loud thud echoing through the street as the ANBU paused to stretch adjusting a few loose strands of hair covering his eyes.

He seemed normal enough bar the abrupt entrance a long ivory main tied back in what could only be described as a hap hazard ponytail making it quite clear he had no idea how to accomplish such a thing. The attire he wore matched that main a long white coat covering most of his person getting caught in the slight breeze as he turned on his heels to face Akihiko. "Just a matter of what you wish to do here, though excuse my manners i failed to introduce myself first i go by the name Yukio its a pleasure to make your acquaintance" A polite bow of his head would follow being someone who enjoyed polite and proper behavior Yukio would never forget to do such things.

Akihiko was thinking to himself, his thoughts were broken by a voice from above. It wasn't god speaking, though some could describe someone with such fair skin and white hair as an angel. Akihiko grinned at the other, he didn't expect someone else to be out here this early. Yukio jumped off the building and continue to speak. Akihiko waited for him to finish. Yukio wasn't wrong that there was plenty to do, but Akihiko felt like he assumed that he was a civilian.

"Nice to meet you, Yukio. I am Tachibana Akihiko. Most acquaintances call me Bana for short." Akihiko introduced himself, then he turned and pointed at the hospital that was in sight not too far away. "I actually work as a mednin. I just got back from a research tour. I have plenty to be able to get a place, but the money goes fast." Akihiko explained. "Maybe I'll take on some escort missions to Tea country." He said with a grin as he looked back at Yukio. He was just saying how he just got home from a long journey, now he was talking about going on missions that would take him pretty far from home again.

"So what are you up to early this morning, I'd guess a morning jog, but that's not normally done on rooftops." Akihiko said with a grin, then he crossed his arms in front of him. He didn't really know any other Shinobi, three years is long enough to have a whole lot more new faces. Not like he really got to know others when he was home three years ago.

Taking a moment to look over Bana's features it became obvious rather quickly that he wasn't a simple civilian bringing a hand to his chin he pondered a moment it was true even though the branches paid well he too had to take up other jobs to keep things running smoothly though it never bothered the Hyuuga much though it was always a pleasure to meet those from the other branches. "I see I do apologise I should have assumed as much all things considered, Though a research tour? not something I have heard of being done before but if I were to make a suggestion find part time in a civilian job. I may be a Shinobi myself however I work part time in a bar I find such things are far more relaxing and most of the time enjoyable compared to our normal busy day to day lives."

A sigh escaped him in that moment safe to say from the looks of him he'd been awake for the majority of the night, watching over the village in any way he could even if it wasn't required of him. "Though you are correct, I wouldn't call this early morning exercise I just feel it never hurts to watch over the village while those who wish to sleep. At least through that they can be content knowing they are safe should something happen." Taking a few casual paces Yukio stood beside the Med nin stretching to loosen his limbs.

"If you aren't too busy however we should more than likely find food or a good drink, I find that helps after long journeys and night shifts." Hearing that the Shinobi wished to go on escort missions Yukio began to walk through the streets thinking of a way to assist him in that matter. "Well there's usually caravans or small groups of people looking for such things when travelling even when they don't need them. I usually do a few every now and then if you wish to join me at some point?" It was a simple offer and one Yukio saw no issue with being a rather open person to anyone willing to speak to him in return.

Akihiko nodded to Yukio. A part-time job was a good idea, but it was something that he'd do at last choice. Missions paid well, higher ranking missions could pay for a couple months rent. There weren't that many available higher ranking missions. Plenty of B-ranks. He'd have to figure it out, he was also required to work part-time at the hospital, it was not something he had not started yet. "Yeah, I was sent out about three years ago. Since old leaf's research was mostly destroyed, they sent a few shinobi who were willing to do new research." Akihiko explained. A lot of medical data was lost, and what they had now was borrowed from other villages.

Yukio explained how he was pretty much-keeping guard over the village. Very noble, it made him wonder what branch he was in. Well, the main branch guarded the village, but so did ANBU, from the shadows though. Medics kinda liked their sleep since they needed to be wide awake and focused when performing any kind of medical treatment.

Yukio commented on the Escort missions he had mentioned. "That would be awesome. Team missions are much more fun than solo missions." He stated, though Yukio never said he was a ninja, it was easier to assume he was. Staying up all night protecting the village is a sure sign of a ninja. "I have to do a lot this week, I have to get my hospital schedule, and look at places to live. I also have some catching up to do, A lot happens in a village after a few years." Akihiko commented. "We could go next week, the Tournament will be happening soon so then there will probably be a large influx of escort missions, not to mention bandit activity." Akihiko grinned, he was pretty excited to be invited to go on a mission.

Most ninja would be cautious of a stranger, maybe Akihiko was, but he liked making new friends. Most of the time it was worth it, even the ones that betray you, the memories would be worth it. That's how he thought of it, friend before foe.

Staying up through the night had always left to interesting situations for Yukio some good, some bad and some just outright strange but lucky this had been one of the better times the man he now walked with seemed like a good person no one would leave their home if they didn't care about the Village and that was something the Hyuuga greatly admired. "Three years quite some time to be away from the village, i have never left to go to another country before though its something i wish to do before i become too bogged down in work and assignments" he sighed even the thought of what could be coming the next day making him feel exhausted.

The escort missions to Tea seemed like the best way to complete the desire and it was true what Akihiko said with the tournament coming up it was going to be the best time to move from place to place tilting his head to face the medic. "Very true and good insight, I wouldn't mind going on a mission as a team for once its been some time not since my academy days." He thought back to his mission in crisis city in those next passing moments safe to say things could have gone smoother but at the end of the day they had made the best of the situation and worked with it.

it only made sense he wanted to know about what had occurred in the village a lot could change in three years and much had in the grand scheme of things. "There are many more students in the village these days, aspiring members of the next generation eager to take the torch we will eventually hand over to them." He seemed sentimental though he could quickly tire from the training and lessons it was not something he could ever complain about. "The student tournament we had showed us their potential and many were brought within the ranks of the villages branches to expand on that potential and now its up to us to make the best of what comes next."

Akihiko grinned and walked along while listening to Yukio talk. He said he hadn't gone on a team mission since his academy days, now that was a little strange. Medical branch almost always had team missions assigned, and the main branch liked to focus on team building..... "Well if you like the team mission we go on, maybe you'll consider switching branches. Its pretty cool to have someone you can count on to show up when you need it, its hard to build that kind of relationships on solo missions." Akihiko said casually, maybe he was jumping to conclusions, but he knew this kid was not in the medical branch, so he could easily take it as he was saying he should join the medic side. Not that Akihiko could know any better. Maybe he was a main brancher that just took more solo missions than normal. Who knew.

"I am glad that there are more students. When I was in the academy my class wasn't that big. " He stated, and then nodded. "I hope these kids grow to be strong, I am kinda sad I missed the student tournament, that would have been a great place to see the new generation." Akihiko said with a sigh and a sad look. He blinked realizing he was starting to sound like an old person. "Ah! What am I saying? I'll sound old if I keep saying things like that." He said more to himself than Yukio.

"So where do you live, Yukio?" Akihiko looked at the silver-haired guy, this could be a great chance to get a friend whom he could fight with, and depend on. It almost felt like he was starting over in a way. Most of his childhood friends had grown up and moved on, either out of the village to achieve greater things, or they never pulled through on becoming a ninja. His class was tiny so there was a high chance most of them wouldn't make the cut.

it was something Yukio had never truly thought on changing branches was no small thing and he owed his life and progression to the ANBU, Though the idea was certainly an interesting one it still didn't feel like quite the right time to commit to such things as he sighed shaking his head slowly. "It is not the right time just yet, the ANBU branch has given me much and there is still more to be offered to me there. Do not mistake that for it being never however only time will tell how events unfold and anything could happen in the coming years to change such things." the thought did linger however scratching the back of his head.

The offer did make for opportunity with the branches now working closer than ever before it would be likely medics would be taken out on missions with the various ANBU teams now being formed. "There's always the chance to come out on missions with my team, after all we do lead dangerous lives and going out so often especially alone doesn't help a Shinobi's life expectancy." He came across as rather blunt about the matter accepting the fact he had chosen the lifestyle that could eventually get the ivory haired Shinobi killed one day.

Chuckling at his next statement Yukio nodded in agreement the longer he spent around the students and AiT the older he felt even though it was still early in his life that didn't mean his body ignored the strain and stress of day to day life. "I can sympathize with you on that one the longer i spent with them the more my body tells me to kick my feet up and relax from time to time, sometimes i think i should before it does it for me."

The last question lead to a rather interesting answer the Hyuuga finally tilting his head towards the Med nin the green glow of the Hakumei finally on show as the silver locks slid out the way. "I currently find myself in the residence of the Uchiha household, though i am not of the bloodline the clan head saw fit to allow me to take residence until i can support myself." the answer caused memories to surface the moment Takeshi allowed him to take up residence within the household despite being of different blood.

"So you are in the ANBU." Akihiko stated, quickly, happy that he was right, even though he tried to make it seem like he didn't suspect it, or made it look like he was trying to assume he was instead in the main branch. "It's understandable, I am not ready to switch from the medical field anytime soon, it is my calling I feel like." Akihiko said with a smile, though he did kinda hope to talk someone into the mednin branch, Yukio didn't seem like he would budge... at least at this moment. Anyway, that's no way to start any friendship.

Akihiko nodded to Yukio after he explained that he could come with his team one of these days. "Oh! That makes sense." He stated, then he put his hand to his chin, pondering just for a moment. "I assume ANBU go on many stealthy missions, We medics... we really never focus on stealth, so, uh, most of us have loud feet. Well, we're quieter than the average civilian, but we're average in the ninja, world, most of us." Akihiko tried to explain, but he made himself seem like he was an untrained ninja. He didn't mean it that way, just that he was trying to say was he probably was not stealthy as an anbu would prefer. After all, the anbu were the best of the best, and Akihiko was average in skill. His chakra control was the only thing he was above average in.

Akihiko agreed with Yukio, his body did ache, but he was still too young. Plus Yukio probably had way more scars than Akihiko. Medics don't usually fight on the front line, Akihiko was trained to fight if he needed to, but his most teams prefer their medics stay alive longer than them.

Akihiko glanced towards the direction he thought was the Uchiha clan houses. "Oh that's nice of them. They have a lot of room huh?" Akihiko wondered. He looked back to Yukio, "I think my family needs to build a second house on their land." He stated, but even if they built ten houses, he wouldn't stay on that land. He preferred his own space, his own home, and more importantly his own bed. Bunk beds were the worse, plus he always got the middle bunk. Normal people have two beds in a bunk bed, but his family, due to the tight space, has three beds per bunk bed. He gets kicked from below and squished from the top.

With a slow nod of his head Yukio acknowledged the statement it was a good feeling being allowed to be much more open with other branches than the days of old would have allowed with the ANBU now seeming more like people than machines who simply hid in the shadows until duty called them out into the open. "Correct i am that of the ANBU branch though i spend half my time floating around the other branches and teaching the new academy students what i have learned through field experience" If the Hyuuga considered something important above all things it was real life experience and invaluable resource that everyone could benefit from.

Thinking on Akihito's statement it was true the ANBU would be pictured as a stealth orientated organisation but that only brought a nervous laugh out of Yukio as he scratched his cheek thinking back on the missions before now. "Well we are meant to act with some form of stealth but only in the beginning in my experience that doesn't always last for very long." His mind was drawn back to the ANBU exam breaking into the warehouse via a giant slug through the door as a sigh of defeat left his lips. "What can i say stealth hasn't always been my forte, at least looking back on the missions I've done."

Looking towards the Uchiha household Yukio couldn't deny it was a strange feeling even now to be allowed to live in the place, amongst the numerous Uchiha walking its halls a Hyuuga couldn't be more out of place but it was always a matter of making the attempt to make it feel like home and make the best of what live gave him. "That they do its quite the place and i do have a tendency to get lost walking around the place from time to time though what you have to say interests me a second house? you must have quite the family if that's become the case." He chuckled slightly seeming a lot more relaxed the longer the conversation went on.

Akihiko was surprised, he didn't know anbu were allowed to be so open about their branch... What happened to being all secrety and stuff? Oh well, he wouldn't question it, just go with the flow. Akihiko looked forward as they walked, thinking about it. With his skill set, at least in the beginning, he could have been trained into the anbu branch. As he explained, it sounded like the ANBU branch wasn't all about stealth after all. "We all have a weakness somewhere." Akihiko replied with a chuckle. He guessed ANBU was very different from what he had heard, or maybe his experience of anbu at other villages, well more like the rumors of them made him think of his hometown anbu also being super sneaky top of the top people too. Well, they are still probably very skilled, and above average, just not as sneaky as he thought they were. He remembered while he was in Kumo, the anbu there are basically forced to give up their social life, and family. If they wanted to get married they'd have to drop the branch, but he heard of some that were able to hold the anbu branch, and a family life.

Akihiko couldn't help but imagine the space they had, they were a big clan. It probably sucked though, family living right next door, every time you exited your house an aunt stops you to say hey and tell her all her thoughts. But at least they were not crammed into one house. Akihiko took a second to answer, he didn't realize what Yukio was asking about for a moment. "Ohh yeah.... well..." Akihiko trailed off. He then looked at Yukio. "I have over a dozen siblings, we all live in a four-bedroom house outside of the village. My parents take up a room, and my baby sister still sleeps with them. We all cram into the rooms at night, and often we don't get alone time, even in the bathroom." Akihiko explained then he looked forward and folded his arms.

"Three years ago, I was fine living like that, but now I just don't want to live in a cramped place like that anymore. Nothing against my parents, but I like my privacy, it is almost a foreign word in my house." Akihiko explained, but he didn't go into too much detail since it sounded like Yukio was adopted. He'd probably hate Akihiko if he started to bad mouth his own family. He loved his family, they were irritating, but he still loved them. "The Uchiha clan is pretty cool for bringing you in, I often hear bad things about them. But I guess those guys are just jealous of the Uchiha." Akihiko spoke his mind, He wanted to ask Yukio about his family, but he knew that was probably a bad idea.

it was true Yukio and the ANBU in general had a very unique way of dealing with things as of late being much more open to speaking about their activities and attempting to step out the shadows something Yukio greatly appreciated given his ever growing and more open personality though even for him it felt like a lot of what was said in those passing moments were a mix of his traits and being somewhat exhausted. Though there were attempts to hide it at closer inspection even someone now specifically looking for it could see the black marks forming beneath the Hyuuga's eyes the normal green glow having a slightly rend tinge to it as Yukio reached to rub his hand across them with a slight sigh.

"Your right there no one is perfect nor should any of us be, that would mean we've learned everything this world has to offer and anyone who tells you that is more than likely lying." he seemed to be becoming more open as time passed not really thinking on what was being said before the words left his lips. He paid it no mind however still content with listening to what he had to say though the mention caused him to think back on his own family or rather what they used to be. "That's quite the family you have there safe to say things could get a bit crowded so I can see why you think they should get a second place to stay."

he paused a moment it was true being a Hyuuga in the Uchiha household though not living the main household meant he was alone for a large portion of the time so in truth it felt like he was living alone. "Privacy is something you can come to appreciate though I've heard many times you don't truly appreciate something until its not around anymore." the tone of voice from the Hyuuga became sombre with that statement head tilting down to look to the ground as Yukio's body almost seemed to tense taking a deep breath before speaking once more.

"They were kind to take me in and I couldn't be more grateful for them doing so before then I was pretty much living in the branch quarters not much choice given how young I was at the time though things seem to be looking up for me now."
Throughout all of this there was never a mention of his true family nor a hint of where they may be at this moment in time.

Akihiko nodded, "I'm sure I'll miss it once I am out again." Akihiko was going to continue on, but, he stopped himself, he noticed Yukio's tone shift to something somber.

Akihiko stopped walking and glanced at the man, he was obviously burying a lot of things currently. It wasn't his place to ask about them, he couldn't possibly understand that pain. Akihiko had been surrounded by family, he had met many people, many shinobi who have had no family. "I'm sorry if I opened old wounds." He stated with an apologetic tone of voice.

"But hey, when your rock bottom, there's only one way to go, and that's," Akihiko stepped in front of him and made a dramatic pose, pointing up, he was trying to lighten the mood. "Up!" Akihiko said with a warm grin, he wasn't very good with sad people. He would rather act silly to make them smile again then try to talk about it, he thought the best way was to think about something else and try to laugh.

"I think you're a good guy, I am excited for the chance to work with you, you know." Akihiko stated and straightened himself out. This was something he did for his siblings too, not his older ones, but his younger ones. Their parents didn't have time for all of them, so they often gave each other the attention they needed.

His eldest two brothers were not much help, they kinda moved on and started working early. His older sisters also had their own dreams and had already stopped spending time with their younger siblings. They acted like a second pair of parents until recently. At times Akihiko just wanted to stay home and help his mom, but he needed to be what he wanted to be. He was sure his family would be just fine without him living in the house.

Yukio stopped in his tracks for a brief second tilting his head back to look at Akihiko there was a look in his eye not sorrow nor any anger towards the Medic for bringing up the subject more a regret it had been so obvious it was a subject personal to the Hyuuga a deep sigh following in its wake. "You don't have to apologise at the end of the day sometimes keeping everything locked up inside can cause more pain than facing the truth." Seeing the dramatic pose that came after the ANBU burst into laughter watching him taking a moment to catch his breath in the aftermath.

"I'm glad to see some things never change over the generations, spirits should always run high in leaf for that is the way we do things is it not." Wiping away a tear and continuing to walk he thought about that fact the fact that no matter how many generations went by the one thing they all had in common was the unbreakable will to keep moving forward and that was something that never failed to being a smile to Yukio's face. "That's the one thing i never want to see change in a way it reminds me of what's important and why i do what i do."

Not hanging on the subject he wondered how such a mission would go there had been an agreement to do such things with the med branch and on a personal level Yukio had wanted to work more closely with the other branches so they would keep in touch and keep growing together. "And i you its been some time since I've left the village with an ally by my side safe to say it'll make the trip easier than sitting in the back of a carriage with the bumpy road as company." Chuckling at the notion it reminded him of the early days trekking along dirt paths and through many a caravan escort mission ensuring the safety of others.

Akihiko would have apologized for it either way. He didn't want to hurt anybody, at least none of his comrades. Akihiko's smile only grew when Yukio started laughing, that was his goal after all. He chuckled along as well, hopefully, no one else saw that, if his older brother knew, he'd never hear the end of it. THough Akihiko would never be ashamed of trying to make a friend smile. It was just something else...

Akihiko nodded in agreement with Yukio, this was their true power, the will of fire. Akihiko knew many leaf shinobi had this energy, some lacked it, but it was easy to spread this power. "Same, I hope the will of Fire never dies, I know I won't let it." Akihiko stated with determination. They had walked quite the ways now, they were several blocks from the apartment place now, despite walking slowly.

"I traveled by carriage during most of my tour, by the time I was sick of it, I had buns of steel." Akihiko joked with a chuckle. It was half true, He preferred to walk, or run over a carriage. Unless he was driving, then that was fun. "I will send a messenger to you when the exact date of our mission is. I'll go pick it up if that's okay," He explained since he knew where Yukio was staying it'd be easy to send a message over to the Uchiha housing.

"Its getting close to the time of my appointment with the real-estate person." Akihiko stated with a sigh. He could probably talk for hours more, but time moves fast when you're having fun.

The will of fire something that drove every Shinobi of the leaf village to new heights though Yukio had never heard the phrase said aloud before it gave an empowering feelings like the embodiment of what every branch stood for on matter the duty they had to the village. If anything made the Hyuuga's smile wider it was the determination of the man the genuine emotion of meaning everything he said no matter what it was.

"I travel that way for most of my missions though i do prefer the freedom to stretch my legs if training has given me anything its the sometimes rather bad habit of hating sitting still for too long." That brought a rather nervous sigh out of Yukio sheepishly scratching the back of his head and thinking back on the many times Medical had told the Hyuuga to take a break only to be stuck on a mission a few hours later, the job of a Shinobi was never truly over after all.

It seemed the mission would be coming soon and a sensation of excitement passed through the ANBU it was going to be an interesting experience working alongside someone from another branch and one he would welcome gladly even something as simple as an escort mission was an interesting prospect just to see how they would work together should anything happen on the road. "I look forward to it and i do hope things go well for you, just try not to overwork yourself though i have no right to say such things."

Akihiko grinned, then he stepped back. "My favorite way to travel is by air, but people tend to freak out over seeing a flying man." He commented before turning around and started to walk back from where they came. Before Yukio could question, Akihiko started talking again, as if it was a casual and not unusual thing to say. Maybe he was still just joking around.

"I usually find time to relax, but thanks! I hope you don't overwork yourself and burn out before our mission." Akihiko said while glancing back, he gave a slight wave, "Anyways, expect a letter from me soon. Make sure you sleep and eat before the mission." The last part might have been his doctor side of him showing, but he was concerned Yukio would be patrolling all night again.

After another wave and a smile, Akihiko hopped onto a rooftop and made his way back to the apartment complex.

The med nin was an interesting man to say the least but then again most of those Yukio met within leaf had a rather unique personality to them, quirks that were there's and there's alone and both he and Akihiko were no different. It was a good feeling to have made a friend so willing to accompany the Hyuuga on his missions though he was used to doing them alone the prospect of having someone to watch your back when things became tough was reassuring.

"I will don't worry any mission is a chance for us to represent the village so we can't afford to screw it up." Though a smile covered his face whether he would commit to the act or not was another matter entirely rarely sleeping and as such continuing his duty to protect the village and as for eating the excuse of being too busy was usually the one provided and with a sigh Yukio parted ways with the Med nin for now wondering what kind of mission he would procure for them waving as he left.
