Character's Physical Description:
Kyarako is of average height, though her figure is quite soft, what some would call chubby – though she would simply say that she has more breasts than she knows what to do with. The latter tends to be true more often than not as her “girls” tend to get in the way most of the time. Her hair is bubblegum pink with gentle waves throughout its length. Framed by these pink waves is a rounded, heart-shaped face with full cheeks, full lips, and wide eyes the color of the Caribbean Sea. Carrying herself with confidence despite her frame, she moves lithely and gracefully.

Character's Mental Description :
Kya's personality is extremely cat-like, having spent her time almost solely with an old tom-cat the entirety of her teenage years. More often than not, she has an air of aloofness or boredom about her, frequently mirroring the expression on her animal companion’s face when they sit beside each other. However, when she’s working, she is every bit the gracious professional, giving each customer just the right amount of attention to keep them coming back. Then, other times when the mood strikes, she is incredibly energetic and playful. When these moods occur, the old tom tends to keep to himself, allowing Kya to expend her energy with his younger counterpart or by dancing around the house – even more reason for him to take a nap in a kitchen cabinet.
Character History:
The story of Oyamaneko Kyarako has been fairly uneventful so far. She was born into a family that took pride in the fact that every member of their family - save for a few black sheep - had been through the academy and gone on to become well-respected ninjas. The family had another tradition, however; upon joining the academy, each child would visit a special trainer within Sunagakure to choose a cat. These, of course, weren't just any cats, they were trained to assist in battle - not unlike the battle cats of Scotland.
Kya, however, went about choosing her companion a bit differently. Her mother frequently helped the trainer with odd jobs about the center and care for the cats, so of course the young girl would tag along - often. It was here that at a very young age she found companionship in an old, gray, long-haired cat she calls Kedama.
The gray cat was old when the pink-haired girl was born, having been the companion of one of the girl's uncles before he was killed during a mission. This cat had the personality of a grizzled, old war veteran and generally stayed clear of the other people who would come and go, but for some odd reason he took to Kya immediately and would follow her around any time she was visiting. To call him protective would have been an understatement, to say the least, and eventually the relationship between the old tomcat and the child grew to be something even more than any of her family members could boast. And once the girl had gained the old cat's trust enough, he made it known to only her that he could speak English. The pair spent the rest of that day talking - the old tom surprisingly gentle with children despite his years at the side of a fairly well-known ninja. Once her mother got ready to go and found her daughter, the little girl refused to leave her companion at the training center, and he refused to let her go. The mother tried for several hours to get their daughter to leave without the grizzly old cat, once even physically dragging the girl from the building, but somehow Kedama had found a quicker way outside and was sitting on the fence post with a stern expression on his face as the girl ran to him picked him up. Resigned to taking a "used" fighting cat home, they hoped that maybe if she got her companion early, their daughter might take to the ninja lifestyle a bit easier, given the fact that she had never taken an interest in training with her cousins.
Kya never did take any interest, but it was tradition that as soon as a child turned 10, they would enter the academy and begin their formal training. Once she did so, Kedama took the young girl under his paw and tried his best to help her to become a great ninja, though Kya just wasn’t into the ninja lifestyle. The chubby pre-teen didn’t like fighting, or training, or really anything exercise-like…she liked snacks. So, she took the logical course of action and retired from the ninja life shortly after reaching Genin rank and taught herself to bake. Kedama fought tooth and claw to convince his human companion to continue her training, but eventually resigned himself to the lazy life of a house cat, though he always watched her for any inkling she might want to pick up her training again.
Once she had learned, and nearly perfected, enough recipes, she started going to her neighbors and taking orders for baked goods of all kinds; if it was sweet, she could bake it. Her little business grew quickly and by the time she was fourteen, she had saved up enough yen to purchase and decorate a small booth in the market. By this point, Kya’s parents realized the little hobby their daughter had started was becoming more than a hobby and began to urge their daughter to stop her foolishness and focus on her training – surely this “bakery nonsense” wouldn’t last and by that point she would be too old to correct her mistake. Naturally, having found something she loved, the teenager refused to give up her passion and her parents became resigned to having their only child refuse to follow the path of the ninja.
The market booth was much more brightly colored and flashier than any of the others around and drew patrons in droves. Soon enough, she was taking large orders for parties and even wedding cakes, and within two more years she had made enough money to purchase a regular shop all her own and convert it into a working bakery complete with industrial kitchen and all of the accoutrements. From this large shop, Kya worked for years, enjoying getting to know her patrons and taking excellent care of them when they came to order anything. She built her business on return customers and referrals, loving the way she could make a wedding cake for a couple, then cupcakes for a baby shower, and a birthday cake for a one-year-old – all for the same couple.
By Kyarako's 18th birthday, things were clearly going very well for the young woman, and though she rarely spoke to her family, she found plenty of companionship in her many customers and the ever faithful Kedama, who - though he would never admit to it willingly had taken to the life of a spoiled house cat nicely. Of course, the baker knew it was strange that her old cat was easily at least 40 human years old, having been rather old when she met him, she never did worry as he could still move around like a kitten and was easily the best mouser in the district.
The pair had lived together for nearly Kya's entire life, and had lived with only each other's company for most of that time and they had become accustomed to the quiet - until one day when the curvaceous teenager was cleaning up after a long day of business. She had gone to take the trash out to the back alley but come back with something small, orange, and mewling in her arms.
Kedama immediately voiced his distaste for the creature, outright refusing to live with it, but Kya could always convince her companion to do just about anything. Kya named her newfound kitten Shoga - though Kedama had a few other choice names for the furball - and Shoga added some excitement to their home, much to the elder cat's dismay. For the first several weeks, the grizzled tomcat all but ignored the new addition, while their human companion showered attention and praise on the little kitten, and eventually the old cat resigned himself to having to live with the brat and decided that, if the situation was going to work, he would need to teach the kid a thing or two in the way of the battle companion, regardless of how hopeless it was looking when it came to Kya getting back into her training. Not to mention, having to translate between the pair was getting old fast.
The kitten was quick to learn, though quite stubborn - he never put much effort into learning the English language and settled himself on speaking to their human companion through Kedama, much to his elder's frustration. However, the pair of felines worked quite well together despite their differences and had, on several occasions, protected Kya from various different attackers during her journeys around Suna. The elder cat was quite skilled with Genjutsu and would use them religiously to disguise the attacks of Shoga, who had homed an affinity for Taijutsu attacks, the combination of which had become formidable enough to keep Kya from ever realizing she was the target of such attacks. Of course, it helped that the woman was quite often very clueless as to her surroundings.
