Name: Koto
Age: 8
Physical Description:
A young boy with unkempt brown hair and a rather normal looking boy as far as features and appearance was concerned. There were no extra limbs, anthromorphic features, or mystical markings. He wears a pair of half-rim glasses and has a small tomoe shaped marking on his forehead, the marking itself being symbolic to his family and nowhere in relation to those of Uchiha blood/heritage. He can be seen typically dressed in a beige colored, hooded jacket with a long right sleeve and a short left sleeve, over a dark blue shirt and matching baggy-like pants. His jacket has a pull-up collar almost as to keep sand from flying into his face during those random sandstorm events, for which he also would be seen sporting a pair of goggles. While his goggles are normally positioned on the back of his head below his ponytail, he can sometimes be seen with them on the front of his face to cover his eyes. He also carries with him an antique, katana-style blade that is around three feet in length. Though he is not that proficient with it at all, he carries it as a last gift from his father.
Mental Description:
He has shown that he is sympathetic to those whose lives are similar to his, and will go out of his way to help them. This might have been due to growing up during a time of "instability" in the usual peace of the land. In his eight years of life, having lost family and found renewed hope within the embrace of the village. To say he doesn't have a negative outlook though is an understatement. Koto is at a point in life where he has yet to fully rationalize if he likes violence or if he is timid of it...something that his enrollment into the academy will bring to enlightenment.
History:
The earlier memory of his young life was reserved for a somewhat modest happiness where a youth did not have to struggle or want for much. His family was both loving a doting, being born into a somewhat small clan that had been dwindling in numbers long before the events of recent. They lived as his clan or tribe (whichever works best) had always, following along with merchant caravans across the dunes between the various oasis settlements but never between the major hubs like Soon's Haven or Sunagakure. It had been this way for much of the few years he did have some recollection over and it would have conceivably continued had the events which domino'd after Suna's declaration of war towards the Diamyo. The first hardship that he could remember was how the increased tensions around the country had limited where they could go. This brought about some financial troubles though even this was something that could be lived through. It wasn't until the war was declared did he also learn about what his parents actually did for a living. They had been shinobi at one point in their lives and although they had since retired from such activities, his father did begin to tell him stories of his youth. It would be how he would come to know about the nature of his family, at least in namesake, and loosely about what he would also maybe one day be capable of. These times were the bittersweet points of his past, where life intersected with trials of war. Eventually though it would be the so called "Swarm" which would deal him his traumatic blow. The family would, like many others throughout the country fall victim to the ravaged and roamed the dunes. The irony was that they had only been a day or so away from Sunagakure when a group of Unbent descended upon their resting caravan and slaughtered everyone (At least to his knowledge) with him having only escaped through a mixture of parental sacrifice and luck. Sacrifice in that while his mother died rather quickly, his father had been able to avoid the swarm through means which seem impossible to describe. Through his own eyes he witnessed first-hand what his father had told him stories about. Watching his parent use an otherwise regular katana with a unique amount of skills that saw him and his father essentially "warping" space. Till this day he could not describe what he saw in understandable terms but it would be a catalyst for later in life. Unfortunately like his mother, his father would suffer a similar fate though due to eventually succumbing to compiling injuries and exhaustion. Being there for his final moments, where through gasps of breath he was instructed on which direction to run and to take his sword.
It was all that he remembered at least of life prior to being discovered a few miles from Suna by a shinobi patrol and like all others, orphaned into Sunagakure's society. Unlike some children though, he had been at least lucky enough to have had an eighth birthday. It meant that he could be enrolled within the shinobi academy and in a sense, become closer to what his father had been through his life till the end. A hero and to that end someone who would aim to replicate what his father had, under unfortunate circumstances, showcased to him in those final moments. Through his early months in the academy he found himself leaned towards taijutsu, being rather subpar when it came to genjutsu studies and somewhat hit and miss with matters regarding ninjutsu. Surely though his teachers would reinforce that such was typical of those new to the academy, with the rare exceptions of prodigal children. So he would begin to look forwards to days and nights learning....maybe his predispositions would remain or he could very well develop other skills
One thing was for sure, his story just being written
