Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Character's Physical Description: Yugen stands slightly under six feet with long white hair that stretches down to his waist. Yugen's pale complexion coupled with the fabled Rinnegan give him an almost other-worldly appearance that can be both intimidating and comforting. Yugen typically wears a long white robe, with simple black garments underneath, black boots and gloves, and an ivory headband to keep his hair out of his face.

Character's Mental Description: Yugen is a creation of powerful Dark Sage that hailed from the former Hidden Mist village. For much of his life he was told that his only purpose was to help his master conquer the Hidden Villages and rule the world with an iron fist. Unexpectedly, to his master, Yugen developed a personality and will of his own, one that did not align to the wishes of his master. Yugen can come off as cold and aloof, but in reality he cares greatly for those around him. He believes that the gifts he has been given through his unnatural birth present him with a unique opportunity to better the world he lives in. Unfortunately, due to his lack of overall experiences with the real world, Yugen's idea of 'help' or 'improvement' tend to be slightly unrealistic at times. While Yugen is very intelligent, he greatly lacks experience with other people, and can be quite gullible.

Character History: Yugen is the son of a former Kirigakuren prostitute and unknown shinobi. He never met his father, and he only has the vaguest memories of his mother. During the fall of Kirigakure, while trying to escape the apocalyptic climate change that was occurring, his mother was more or less forced to give him up to a person she thought was a member of the Hidden Mist's ANBU black ops due to his powerful bloodline. Unfortunately for her, and Yugen, she had actually handed him off to a vile and dangerous Dark Sage who only saw Yugen as a weapon for his use, and because of this only allowed Yugen to reference him as "Master".

Over the course of the next several years Yugen was submitted to numerous medical and chakra based testing as well as grueling training regiments. His Master was training him to be a tool in a dark plan that was never revealed to Yugen in its' entirety. Yugen became conditioned to do whatever Yugen asked of him, even if that meant putting himself in harms way, or harming others. On the other hand, Yugen's Master was a powerful shinobi who not only taught him Genjutsu, Taijutsu, and Ninjutsu, but tactics, warfare, and how to control his unique bloodline.

This was Yugen's life, and this was going to be his future until one day one of his Master's experiments awakened something inside of Yugen that not even he, a powerful Dark Sage, could control.

Kinjutsu Application
Yugen lay strapped down to an operating table, his wrists, ankles, neck, and waist were bound so tightly he could feel the blood in his veins struggle to deliver blood to his extremities. A bright light was shining down on his face from above, the bright fluorescent lighting was practically blinding to the young man. To his right he could hear the humming of an older man, the occasional clinking of metallic medical tools colliding into one another. Despite all of this, Yugen did not move because that is what he had been ordered to do.
Yugen’s master was preparing to preform one of his tests on the young man. There had been countless tests before, each one more painful and excruciating than the last. This did not matter to Yugen though, as this was the will of his Master, and the will of his Master was everything.

---

Yugen’s master had found him when he was but a boy, still clinging to the coattails of his mother. The Master had told Yugen that his mother had been a prostitute from the Village of the Hidden Mist who had become pregnant with the child of a powerful shinobi, who hailed from a prestigious bloodline. Unbeknownst to the aforementioned shinobi Yugen’s Mother gave birth to him, and when Kirigakure collapsed due to the catastrophic climate change, she tried to emigrate with the boy. Unfortunately, she did not have the money to purchase two tickets and she could not bring herself to leave her son to die, or ship him off to a foreign country without her. Luckily for her, and for the Master, Yugen’s unique bloodline had caught the attention of the Master, He approached Yugen’s Mother and convinced her to leave the boy with him.
The next handful of years, the number Yugen could not be sure of, were a blur of intense training regiments and medical testing. Not only was the Master training Yugen to become a powerful shinobi, but he was also preforming a plethora of different kinds of medical and jutsu based testing on the boy’s body, chakra, and psyche. The Master’s goal was to turn Yugen into a living weapon, one whose only purpose was to serve his master faithfully and without question. Eventually the Master had condition Yugen to a point that satisfied him, and while the young man had proven to be quite a capable shinobi with his grasp on wood-based ninjutsu, the Master found himself still wanting more.

The Master started taking Yugen with him to raid the ruins of Kirigakure in search of lost knowledge and power. While Yugen would search the academy or library of the ruined village, the Master would vanish into the vast medical complex four hours upon hours. Yugen had no idea, but the reality was that the Master was in search of DNA of some of Kirigakure’s most powerful shinobi. Most of it had been taken by high-ranking med-nin prior to the collapse, but there was always a chance that there would be something left behind, or that there would be remnants of DNA it test tubes or on long forgotten medical devices. The Master would then use the DNA he had found and attempt to combine it with Yugen’s DNA. This went on for several years, and every test and trial proved to be a failure. Even with Yugen’s unique bloodline, his Master was unable to break the molecular code.
As time went on, and as the number of failed experiments grew, the Master grew increasingly frustrated with Yugen’s perceived failure to assimilate the DNA of other shinobi. As his frustration grew so did the Master’s willingness to takes risks. Maybe instead of trying to integrate one shinobi’s DNA it to Yugen’s it would be more prudent to attempt to create artificial DNA through the combination of multiple strands of DNA. This, in-turn, lead to more testing and treatments until one day…

---

The Master rarely spoke during the operations. Typically, he would put on the same few songs while he worked, humming or whistling to himself whilst checking Yugen’s vitals or ensuring that all of the medical apparatus was functioning properly. This time was no different; he hummed gleefully while he picked up a large metallic needle and holding it up to ensure that there were no air bubbles inside. The Master flicked the tube connected to the needle a few times before putting just enough pressure on the end to release a small amount of liquid into the air. The liquid shot into the air in a satisfactory arc, the Master smirked to himself; it was time to get to work.
Yugen had no idea how long he had been on the table, nor had he any idea as to what exactly his Master was doing. None of this was pertinent to Yugen, if he needed to know then his Master would tell him. Eventually the Master stopped his music and began to undo the straps holding Yugen to the operating table. He then beckoned Yugen to stand; he obeyed and stood up slowly. This did nothing to offset the lightheaded feeling that attacked him as soon as he was upright. Yugen’s knees buckled and he began to fall to the ground, his Master was quick to react, catching Yugen before he landed. The two men slowly made their way to Yugen’s chambers where the Master helped Yugen to his bead and then left. As usually, the Master locked the doors from the outside before retreating to his own chambers. Yugen laid his head down on his small, dirty cot, and quickly fell asleep.
That night Yugen dreamed, quite possibly the first dream he had ever had, at least the first dream he ever remembered. He dreamt of chains that wrapped around his ankles, wrists, and neck. These chains trailed forward into the blackness ahead of him. Yugen crawled on his hands and knees, following the chains into the darkness. The sounds of the heavy chain scraping against the floor were almost deafening, it seemed to reverberate all around him. After what seemed like an eternity, he bumped into something with his hands. He began to pat around in order to get a feel for what was before him. Cloth was the first texture he noticed, he felt around some more and found that the chains that bound him lead to this pile of cloth, and then he touched skin. It was a body; he moved himself from his hands and knees and crouched over the body. His nostrils were flooded with the scent of blood and decay, the face of the body was hidden behind a black veil. Yugen moved forward to remove the veil only to find his Master’s face behind it. His face bloody, and eyes open and lifeless. Suddenly Yugen’s chains fell to the floor; he looked up in amazement to see five figures standing above them. Each one was familiar and alien at the same time. Each one had bright purple eyes, with a series of black rings surrounding the pupils. Their hands reached out to Yugen, he lifted his own towards them.

When Yugen awoke from his strange dream, he immediately noticed that there was something different about how he felt. First, he felt different physically, a strength he had not noticed before, and there was a lightness to him now. The second was a mentality change. He felt free, every thought he had was his own, and the thoughts did not revolve around the Master. Yugen moved to the small mirror above the dirty sink in his chambers, and what he saw gave him such a shock that he let out a yelp. His eyes, they were the eyes that he saw in the dream.

The Master arrived shortly after, and his surprise was even greater. This physical change in Yugen was obviously due to his tests and, more importantly, his genius. Yugen remained silent, this was not due to his conditioning though, more so for self-preservation. Yugen knew that if he revealed to his Master that he was no longer fully under his control, that the Master would do whatever it took to regain his control over Yugen.
The Master wasted little time in explaining the powers of Yugen’s new eyes, the Rinnegan. He explained the powers of this doujutsu, how they allowed the wielder to see chakra paths as well as spread the user’s consciousness across several bodies. The Master set forth creating these bodies through a combination of the DNA collected from Kirigakure’s ruined medical center, and forbidden jutsu similar to the ones he had used on Yugen. Months went by, and soon all of the “Paths” were completed. The Master had even made “Back-up” paths in case one or two of the original were destroyed in battle or in the case that a more specialized path was needed. The Master explained to Yugen that it would take some time for him to master his new eyes, and such the bodies could not be used just yet.

During this time more and more of Yugen’s own individualism started to show itself. He would disobey the Master in minor ways, or spend his free time researching things that the Master had not given him permission to look into. Yugen knew that it was only a matter of time before his Master would seek to reestablish his dominance, Yugen could not let that happen again. One evening Yugen’s Master sent him out on an errand to find a particular set of medical items from the Kirigakure ruins. Yugen searched in vain until the sun went down when he decided he had searched enough. Yugen knew that this would be the moment that his Master would snap, Yugen hadn’t finished the mission set before him, the old Yugen would not have returned until he had succeeded.

The old Yugen was dead though, and the new Yugen decided that this his chance to take a stand. It was now or never. As he traveled through the frozen wastes back to his Master’s hideout, Yugen imagined all of the ways the upcoming battle would go. Oddly enough, Yugen was imagining fighting his Master as himself, but as the clone bodies his Master had created for him. He became lost in this imaginary battle, and slowed his pace to a halt. Before he knew it the early morning hours arrived, what was he doing? How long had he been standing in this same spot for? Confused, and slightly agitated, Yugen hurried back.
Yugen arrived at the cave to a grizzly scene. His Master had been in the large central lab where Yugen’s clone paths had been stored, at the center of which was his Master’s maimed and distorted body. Blood and gore was everywhere, Yugen followed the patterns with his eyes, and that is when he noticed it, the trails of blood led to his inactive paths. All five of them were covered in his Master’s blood, they were also all looking straight at Yugen, their eyes the same as is. Their will the same as his.

Their eyes all shut at once, and there was silence.

Ever since the death of his Master, Yugen had been spending more and more time in the wilderness surrounding the once great village of Kirigakure. Yugen found the silence and serenity of the frozen forests calming. The peacefulness allowed him to meditate on his past, present, and future.

One day, while Yugen was exploring a portion of the nearby forest that he had never been to before, he stumbled upon an old hunting trap with a surprising captor. A small white fox laid with his back right leg stuck in the trap. At first Yugen thought that the fox was dead, but upon closer inspection with his Rinnegan he found that there was still a faint spark of life remaining. Yugen carefully released the trap and picked up the young white fox. Yugen was no veterinarian, nor did he know much about wildlife in general, but he was certain that he could save this fox.

Yugen rushed back to the hideout that he now inhabited alone, and took the little fox to the same room his Master had previously used to “Test” Yugen in. The first thing that Yugen did was use the healing abilities granted from his Senju bloodline to stabilize the young fox. Once he had a steady heartbeat, he went to work setting the leg that had been broken by the trap. After a few hours, Yugen was finished, and he was confident that the little fox would survive. He wrapped the fox in a blanket and took it to the main living chamber, there he sat it in front of the fireplace and laid a bowl of water and some of the jerky from his Master’s stores nearby. Yugen figured that when the fox awoke that it would be scared and confused, so he felt it best if he were not nearby when it woke, he would save the introductions for later. He shut the door to the living chamber behind him.

The next day came quicker than usual. For some reason Yugen found himself excited to check in on the progress of the fox he had saved the night before. He slowly opened the door while leaning his head towards the crack to peek in before he entered. He did not see the fox, but he could tell that the bowl of water and the small plate of jerky had been picked clean. That was a good sign. Suddenly a flash of white sped past his feet and slipped through the crack in the door. Yugen’s Rinnegan were able to perfectly capture the image of the white fox speeding past him at an almost supernatural speed. Additionally, it looked as though the fox’s leg had healed completely. Which, even with the assistance of Yugen’s healing jutsu, should not have been the case.

Curious, Yugen followed the little fox. The hideout that Yugen inhabited had been created by his former Master to not only be impenetrable from the outside, but unescapable from the inside. Yugen knew that no matter how hard the little fox tried, he would need Yugen’s assistance to get out. Finding the fox was not easy though, as its small sized allowed it to squeeze into hiding places that Yugen was unaware of. Regardless Yugen eventually found the fox hidden behind a pillar near the entrance of the hideout. Yugen kept some distance and knelt down, extending a hand filled with some more jerky to the fox. He beckoned it out with a promise of more food. The fox was cautious, but eventually gave in, snatching the jerky from Yugen’s hand and taking off back down the hallway towards the living quarters.

Yugen spent the next few weeks monitoring the fox’s recovery, even though the wound had recovered quickly, the broken bone still needed some time to fully recover. Granted, that was moving at an incredible speed too. Yugen surmised that this was due to the fox’s use of natural energy, similar to what Yugen made use of whilst in sage mode. Yugen had never known this to be the case with any animals, and to top it all off, the fox seemed to be particularly intelligent. Yugen found himself growing quite fond of the fox, and the fox seemed to share this attitude. The fox would come up to Yugen while he was reading or studying and plop itself down either on Yugen’s lap or feet. The two also shared meals and Yugen even found himself speaking aloud to the fox as though it were a person.

Eventually though, the fox’s leg was fully healed and Yugen had no excuse to keep this wild animal locked up in his home. He made the fox one final meal and afterwards walked to the entrance of the hideout with the fox at his heels. He then went through the seven handseals required to open the door and bent down to pet the fox one last time. Yugen explained that since its leg had fully healed he would be doing the fox a disservice by forcing it to live its life in his home. It was a wild animal, and it needed to be free to do what wild animals did.

That’s when the fox said “Nah, I’m good

It turned out that the fox, who introduced herself as Mei, was a part of a unique fox clan that had been known to work alongside of shinobi they found worthy, as contract summons. Mei explained that since Yugen had shown such selflessness and honor in taking care of her, that she would in turn petition her lord to form a contract with Yugen.

Class, Rank, BL, Branch: Check.

Kinjutsu: Approved.

Jutsu Swaps: Most of those are 1:1 except Daunt to Chakra Disruption Blade, which is an augment. Kinjutsu augments have the same cost as B-Rank jutsu, but you get +12 ASP, which would bring your total up to 716 from your most recent training.

NPC transition approved; we don't have 'i' NPCs anymore as a thing so approved as a personal NPC.

I will do all your name change/moving topics once contract team reports back.
