Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Character's Physical Description: Hair as pale as the moon sits atop a face that looks to have been chiseled out of stone. Standing at a height of six feet and three inches, Korotsuki is a thin man that weighs just one hundred and seventy five pounds. His thin physique is coupled with a bit of muscle mass, which accounts for a bit of his weight. The tall man has a kind smile and a face that doesn't often frown—a stoic expression, perhaps, but very rarely anger. Dressed in simple clothes, Koro wears a jacket with the Iwagakure forehead protector sewn into the left sleeve. Underneath the jacket is a long black sleeve shirt, but with the added accessories of strips of iron plate armor running horizontally across the man's arms. The same bands of iron armor can be found along the man's back, up and down his sides, and even underneath his black pants. His hands and half of his forearms are bandaged, and a single belt pouch can be seen hanging behind him on the left.

Character's Mental Description: A sensible man and a clear thinker, Koro prefers to think first and then act. A rationalist and a quick thinker, Koro is very good at analyzing an opponent's movements and figuring out a well-designed counter strategy to fight against them. While he doesn't like to fight, and would rather settle disputes peacefully and non-violently, he is not above using whatever force is necessary to defend himself, his home, family, friends, or his ideals. Sometimes, if the situation calls for it, he may even bend the rules further so as to deal with a particularly problematic situation. A terse man, Koro prefers not to make people wait nor be made to wait—punctuality is the definition of preparedness. A voracious reader, Koro enjoys almost all forms of literature; though, he is particularly fond of well-made mystery books. His devotion to reading has granted Koro a rather high intellect, a trait which he holds with much pride. His kindness can sometimes be problematic for him, as he may overextend himself trying to help out a friend. An over all worry-free kind of guy, Koro simply handles whatever task he has in front of him one step at a time.

Character History:
Focus. Concentrate. Breathe. Let yourself feel the pulses and the subtleties of the currents around you. Allow the sands to dance to life. Koro could feel the iron sands moving, waking from their resting positions to spring to life at his beckoned call. Okay, now don't push it. Maintain it. Keep the sand floating, and nothing more. As it hovered, as if it were a trained dog listening to his commands, Korotsuki couldn't help but feel proud of himself. Most genin would not be able to accomplish something like this—even if he hadn't mastered the skill enough to be battle ready, this was still rather impressive. Perhaps he had inherited his father's blood, after all? Just think, he might actually be a Sunaku! Koro's chest swelled with pride as he allowed himself to rest, basking in the evening light and excitement that he may very well have just unlocked his family's kekkei genkai. That was an achievement that not even his father had been able to do. As far as Koro knew, his father was in fact distantly related to the Sunaku Clan of Sunagakure, though he didn't know how thin that blood was by now. What was even more, though, was that he didn't just have the affinity to manipulate the sand and dust around him. Rather, he possessed a much stronger connection with the metals in the ground—he could break them down, shape them, mold them, and use them to his own purposes. He could move them around as big chunks, but the versatility of a fine grain of iron sand was much more valuable to the young man. It was a rather rarer ability within the Sunaku Clan, he'd come to understand. This merely made the young boy much more proud of his recently developed abilities.

Still, this wasn't enough. If he wanted to be able to use this consistently, he'd need to gain a much better control over the magnetic forces around him. He needed practice, and a lot of it. He didn't have time to be sitting here, taking a break. In between his studies and reading, he would always be out in the fields practicing. He didn't practice at home, though, because he didn't want to show his parents this new power just yet. He wanted to show them his ability when he'd mastered it. At that time, he'd impress them with his abilities.

This was it, the final round of the chuunin exams. He'd made it all the way up to the final round, and was ready for this one last fight. He looked up to the crowds, and could see that the whole audience, including his parents, were there cheering for him. They seemed to be the loudest of them all, besides his teammates of course. Grinning to himself, Koro turned his attention back to the task at hand. He had to focus. Empty your mind of everything but the battle. The audience disappeared. His head became silent. Good, now let's do this. The announcer said something, and the proctor signaled for the two contestants to step forward. Koro slowly walked towards the center of the arena, his ears not picking up a single thing. His eyes studied his opponent—she was a genin from the Land of Waves, and her specialty seemed to be a combination of water and fire style techniques to utilize the powerful Steam Release. She had a kekkei genkai, just like Koro. Her's seemed to revolve around using the steam in a violent explosion, utilizing the blazing hot temperature of the steam explosion to devastating effect. She'd sent a couple of contestants out in stretchers with some pretty nasty burns, and Koro wasn't looking to join them. It was fine, though. He knew for a while he'd be facing up against her, so he'd been properly studying all of her techniques in battle. Just the same, she probably was doing the same thing.

Koro barely heard the words. As the two of them had reached the center of the arena, the proctor had said a few words. His arm was raising. He was about to begin the match. Just one more second, and...

GO! He jumped out of the way before Koro and his opponent could go at it. She dropped down into a stance, waving a few handseals to start things off. Koro knew that attack: she was planning to throw his momentum off from the beginning by sending out a torrent of water to flood the ground. He wouldn't have any of that. Using a single handseal, Koro would use the ground underneath her feet to disrupt her actions. Shaking the ground beneath her, Koro managed to mess up her plan of attack and force her onto the defensive. She backed up a few steps, gaining solid footing again before forming a couple of water shuriken in her hands. Throwing them at Koro, he realized that this was a trick he hadn't seen from her yet. So, she still had tricks, huh? Good to know. Koro didn't have time to dodge the well thrown projectiles, so he would utilize his kekkei genkai. The metal legging protectors that he usually wore immediately broke down into grains of iron sand, rushing to his aid. The sand blocked the shuriken, and also allowed Koro a wider range of movement. Perfect, things were going to work out. As he lowered the torrent of iron sand, he could see the woman was rushing at him now. He could see her weaving some seals and realized those were for her Steam Release techniques. Was she planning on creating a localized explosion, with Koro as the epicenter? She was ballsy, he would give her that.

"Your technique is impeccable! But how about this twist?" As he said it, iron barbs began to grow out of the iron sand that was already floating around protecting him. Sharp missiles, smaller and thinner than a kunai, began to form out of the iron sand. As they formed, they were launched out at the woman with a great amount of speed and force. They were going to fly directly into her. Realizing this, she ducked as soon as they were released and continued forward with a bit of a combat roll. But that wasn't the end of it. Koro used his hands to control the magnetic fields controlling them, and turned them around for another go at her. She couldn't stop it this time. Though, she didn't need to. As the missiles impacted, the sand erupted into particles again. They scattered all over her body instead of piercing her, seemingly leaving her unharmed. She seemed a little taken aback by this. "What the hell?" "My goal is not to kill you." She seemed a little perplexed by this answer before her face contorted into a scowl. "Don't fuck with me, I don't need your pity!" Oh man, she'd gotten the wrong idea. Well, this wasn't really the time to explain himself with words—he'd let his actions do the talking. As she got up to charge at him again, the iron sand that he was using as arm protectors dematerialized into sand then rearranged itself into a long metal staff. She was almost on him before Koro had grasped the weapon. Without even looking, the young man swung the staff in her general direction. He could see her smirk, thinking it wouldn't hit her. That's when it hit her, literally and figuratively.

The staff had actually curved, midway through its arc, towards the woman and hit her square in the gut. The impact of it looked painful, and as he hit her a bit of the staff came off as sand and attached itself to her. She stumbled backwards a little bit, then took in a deep breath before looking down at the sand that was getting all over her. A puzzled look appeared over her face. "Do you want to give up now? It's inevitable, at this point." Koro was speaking to her openly, calmly trying to reason with this woman. He didn't want to drag out this fight when the end was quite clear. "I didn't prevent those missiles from piercing you earlier out of mercy. I magnetized them so that the rest of my attacks will be drawn towards you. The more sand that sticks, the stronger the attraction and the slower your movements will get from the weight of the sand." As he said this, she seemed to really understand the words that he was speaking. He'd never pitied her during this match. He'd never shown her an ounce of hesitation. At least, not until now. "The more we fight, the more sand that will accumulate on your body. It's over." His words, though, didn't seem to reach her. "You think that can stop me?! It's just sand! I'll melt you, you little punk!" Sighing, Koro grasped the handle of his staff a bit more tightly. Why did he always get stuck with the persistent ones?

The afternoon breeze was cool and pleasant on Koro's skin. He laid beneath a tree with a book in hand, reading away to pass the time. The book was a rather fascinating one, detailing the history of the Land of Stone. He did love a good history book, though biographies, medical reports, and travel guides were also rather interesting to read. As he laid there, thinking over the words in this book, he could feel that they were approaching. He'd been waiting for them all morning, though he had been extraordinarily early to begin with. That was fine, they would be here when they were here. Looking back on everything, he was glad he'd elected for this job. His brief stint in the ANBU was over. Maybe he'd return some day, but for now he needed to enjoy his life a little more. He'd always enjoyed his time in the academy, though he'd always been one of the smarter kids. Perhaps he was biased? He listened to his teachers, and even respected quite a few of them. Maybe that's why he decided to take up this position? As the three of them made it to him, Korotsuki bookmarked the page he was reading and clapped the book shut. Looking at the three students who'd shown up at the meeting spot, Koro gave them all a slight grin. "Welcome, you three. Today's lesson: Surviving in the Wilderness. Hope you all know how to start a fire!" The kid's groans were like music to his ears. He remembered when he'd taken this lesson back in his days at the academy. It was only fitting for him to pass on his knowledge to the next generation, and to help nurture them so that maybe one day they could gain some sort of peace of mind in this world.

Hey, sorry about this, but I'm having a couple of second thoughts about this. Is it at all possible for me to swap this over to Cloud OCR? I know we've just gotten done with all of this, but I've had a bit of a change of heart.

Everything looks fine to me except for the piece about him being a former ANBU. I'm fine with it being apart of your history, but I cannot say that it would allow you to purchase the whole of ANBU jutsu or access the branch abilities retroactively, if that's what you were hoping for.

Nope, not at all. I plan to use it as a plot point, and am fine with not getting any jutsu out of it.
