Ryuichi sat atop the rooftops of Kumogakure, looking over the entirety of the large village he called home. It was about time he went to prepare for his next mission, but he figured it wouldn't hurt to get some extra training in. There was a lot that the white haired boy was uncertain of, from his ineptitude in long ranged combat as well as his sudden weakness in short ranged duels, which completely threw off his entire fighting style.
So right now he had three options. To start, find a way to continue his close ranged fighting style. Not a very likely answer, considering all of his techniques requiring the ocular prowess of the sharingan to pull off safely . Second option was to adapt a long ranged fighting style, using his gravity style ninjutsu to keep people at a distance. That was what he was training for, and that was the best course of action. Because when the final option was put onto the table it became clear that there wasn't much else. The final option was to just die.
With grit teeth Ryu went to work with his chakra control. He spent plenty of time just expending large amounts of chakra before trying to mentally grasp the leaving chakra to pull it back in, working much like a muscle. Ryu was never used to expending large amounts of chakra, but here he had the feeling that he'd need to in order to deal serious damage on missions.
After several hours of this training, Ryu laid down on the hard rooftop of the building, exhausted. After all of that, he didn't feel much progress...but it was a start. Eventually he'll be able to do something that would ingrave his name into the history books...or not, considering his current branch.
After some rest, he went to the Silieo to prepare for the mission to come in the following day.
