Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.
Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.
The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

Michino was once considered the 'runt' of his clan. He was born in an unusual circumstance and prematurely according to the hospital records and the few things remaining from that forgotten night. Nearly all his life no matter how hard he focused the boy was unable to ever put on much of a build, gain any stamina, or be particularly good at molding chakra. For the longest time he simply remained a student and only passed his third try at the Genin Exam by sheer luck. Yet as time went on and life beat him the boy's Toraono spirit became stronger and stronger. Finally in his mid teens he achieved a growth spurt and started to show improvements in his physical, mental, and chakra departments way beyond what he was once capable of.
He stands at seven feet tall now, with the broad shoulders known to the Toraono males. While lean in his build there isn't a single muscle he hasn't trained into ridged perfection. Despite losing a leg in his battle with Tengokai, the youth has only increased his training, and while he only has one leg to fight with, he manages to put most shinobi to shame in 1-on-1 fights. Even then, there are still rumors that he’s holding back. On certain missions some even say he turns into a fierce demonic woman, though, it is unconfirmed.
Character's Mental Description:
In his youth most of his peers and many of his students considered the boy to be the quite small one sitting in the corner. Being a general pacifist for most of his life no one suspected the violent beast that laid waiting underneath. Deep in his mental walls a creature spoke horrible things to him nightly. It eventually began to call itself 'Owari'.
From as far back as he could remember until he was nearly fifteen the split personality tormented him and constantly tried to take over his body to terrorize the world around him he loved so. Eventually through the help of the previous clan leader, Toraono Kuro, the boy was able to control his wild demonic blood and partner up with the other side to attempt to be a better shinobi. At first it seemed like a good thing but eventually the boy came to learn of how violent his Otherside became during missions with fellow Genin. It became such a thing that others in his generation began to fear him. Eventually Michino would drop out of the team he had been assigned to and started working simple solo jobs, then nothing at all. The blow to his confidence due to his Otherside hurt on a deep level and until he had gone through his growth spurt he seemed forever haunted. Then something happened out in the desert during his pilgrimage. Through a trail placed upon him by the Youkai, he learned to accept Owari. Yet shortly after that, the demonic entity inside of him slipped into the background. Without her guided strength, the Toraono had little to help his self-esteem until he had a chance run in against a psychopath named Jiro.
During a fight that put his life on the line he lost the two people he was trying to save. In it he saw the folly of everything he had been working towards up to that point and did something he had never truly done himself; fight back. While the details of how that fight ended continue to elude the boy one thing set in straight - he needed to grow up.
Toraono Michino his notably most known for his stubbornness. He tends to still avoid fights when he can but no longer has a problem stepping in to change a situation he doesn’t like. Since then, Owari has also come back to whisper encouragement into his ear now - mostly in the hopes he’ll let her experience the Human world as they share they can share the same body.
Multiple Personality Application:
Michino has another side to his soul known as Owari. While at first it was a demon manifested from his blood and broken mind, it has since become an entire entity that is his opposite in many ways. While Michino is more pacifistic, Owari is violent to the extreme. Though they are no longer fully share the same body, his blood on the Youkai Contract and their Souls being twins, he is able to call her out from her realm to possess his body. In doing so her form from the Youkai realm manifests itself over his body, but any injury she takes like this is reflected on his body; save the left leg.
(Three Words: Reverse Magical Girl, plz let me has.)
Character History:
Michino was born prematurely and malnourished. Even in the Toraono clan marriages and relationships get messy sometimes and often they are dealt with swiftly when discovered. Rarely are they done in anything but a nurturing manor. However Michino's mother was of one who wasn't even aware she was pregnant.
His father, a walking pawn of the old Ancients, was unknown at the time when the boy came into the world suddenly one night. Michino’s mother was attempting to cook through pains she mistaken for menstrual cramps, when a true pain of birth wracked through her body; causing her to immediately dropto the ground. Her mouth opened to try and scream, though no sound would come. For a few moments the poor girl thought she was under attack until she focused on where the pain was coming from. For the next three hours she fumbled through both child birth and calling her clan mates to assist her; the latter of which were too late. Laying cold and screaming on the ground, held in the dead clutches of his mother, Michino was given his first taste of the world. It is still unknown why the birth came so suddenly, why it killed his mother who was a member of the Suna Black Ops, or why her corpse looked like it had been mummified.
While the tragedy of his mother's death hung on minds of her immediate family for weeks to come the entire clan took it upon them to raise the young woman's child. The first three months were rough and unsure as he teetered on the verge of death from malnutrition but with the careful touch of the clan's best he pulled through. From there he rolled headfirst into his childhood as he showed all the signs of a healthy Toraono child; right up until the training began. Since his mother was of the Hyou side of the clan, a rare dying part of the family, most of his training was focused on whatever he excelled in but since the entire clan called him "son" Michino was pushed to dabble in a little more of everything more than most of his kin.
For almost any child, this was a guaranteed path to bring honor to the family and for a genius talent being able to train into so many different disciplines would make them invincible by the time they hit the Academy; however the poor boy was neither of these things.
He showed some ability with handling illusions, particularly ones that allowed for self manipulation to allow for temporary strength. However his talent for chakra control and physical prowess were non existent for years. It wasn't until after entering the Academy did he finally build up some stamina through sheer determination to train and be better. Yet like a realistic show about life no matter how hard the little Toraono pushed the world seemed bent on pushing back even harder. His grades were mediocre, his talent in taijutsu lied only in knowing the technique but hardly had the strength to follow through and his "gift" for illusions got little better than it did when he was first training.
The Adolescent Years:
The last half of his first year as Genin picked up for a while until one Winter. A mission to make a delivery of flowers to the port was given to him and two other fellow level shinobi. It was simple and meant to be a mission to help the three boys grow; and it would have been too. All the way up until they were leaving the port did things run smooth. Payment for the mission had been immediate and, after splitting the earnings, the three thirteen-year olds decided to take a chance and see some new stuff. Michino did this by buying some new clothes that looked durable enough to handle his lifestyle. The other two decided to sneak into a bar and see how far they could take shenanigans. While things had seemed to go all well and good, they even stayed a few nights, on the way out of town and back onto the road they were ambushed. A shinobi rogue of their village had seen the two boys in the bar and after a few days of festering his mad mentality the man decided to kill them in a twisted revenge scheme that only made sense to, of course, himself.
The attack went off as an expert would have pulled it. Even unaware of the danger, Genin were still a class of shinobi, and the three put up a fight that lasted all of about twenty seconds. One had become gravely injured via a tear in the stomach from powerful taijutsu and the other, whom had been the "powerhouse" of the group laid broken and near dead somewhere off in the dunes close to the road. Michino was in no better shape as the killer had decided to take his time with the last one; a mistake he never got the chance to repeat. Each blow the teenager faced brought something closer and closer to the surface of his mind even as his vision turned black. All he could think of was the failure after failure that was leading up to a death he couldn't even believed was happening. The mental strain of both pain and regret caused a piece of his ego to snap off and steep itself in the power he always dreamed of having. Power, that he had laying dormant like a panther in a tree.
The boy with the ripped stomach described the next few moments as "abnormal", the way Michino suddenly caught the rogue's attack with a single hand. There was a heavy push of sand and chakra stemming from his friend for about a single second before the man crumpled in a pile of broke. The day was nearing noon when all of this happened but the witness remembered everything being ice cold before he blacked out from the pain.
Neither of the three teenagers know how they got back. Guards posted at the gate claim they never saw the trio walk up only that they "appeared suddenly" in a collapsed heap of broken kids. Michino recovered the slowest of the three as whatever he had done caused a terrible strain on his body. For two weeks he was unable to even walk. During the downtime between physical therapy he requested to suddenly start studying the history of his family. A brief investigation was launched into how a Genin was able to take down a high risk target with such ease only after his comrades were in critical condition but found, at the very least, no foul play on Michino's part. It never was discovered what happened that day but from then on the teenager took at least one part of his life more seriously; finding balance. While he has no memories of actually being able to use the power, he did "watch" himself use it and has since never doubted the idea that something else inside of his blood may not actually be part of the Toraono clan.
Mid Teens:
In the following year once he regained use of his legs the teenager began to show some improvement in his talent all around. The experience seemed to work towards the positive as far as most was concerned, yet the entire time he was being tormented by something. It had been awakened in a time of need and was no longer sleeping peacefully inside of his blood. The killer instinct inside hated the way the Toraono attempted to take each day carefully, and often mocked him for it. Some days were better than others, depending on how strong Michino's will power was that day or even his type of breakfast. Most days, though, a deeper version of his own voice whispers horrible things in his ear that are always thoughts in the back of his mind. Most of the time it appeared to torment him during conversations with other people or when he's attempting to study text. He had even began to stay away from mirrors as every once in a awhile he'll catch a demented look on his own face, knowing he's not making it physically. As such, the boy began to take up more and more solo missions, only partnering up with someone else when he really needed it, as often enough they tend to avoid him afterwards. During moments of high stress, especially when using his chakra, the "other side" was able to take greater hold of his actions. Sometimes it lead to his teammates to view him as a cold and uncaring person as the other self is far more ready to attack and maim where Michino would rather trick and subdue. The problem then one day got to a point that his friend nearly died and would have if he had not forced the darkness back enough to help him. It was around that time his friends started to stop calling on him or accepting his request for partnerships. The voices only began to grow louder.
Then one day after training the boy had a complete physical shut down. His conscious was transferred into a mental world created by his Id, which was being possessed by Owari. Had it not been for Toraono Kuro being able to enter the mental plane of existence himself, the teenager would have easily been eaten by his demonic self and died. The interception made by the Demonbeast King allowed the two to share a common ground as they both separately admired Kuro for their own reasons. Together they realized they were where two separate parts of the same mind and were able to fight down a physical manifestation of the demonic blood that flowed through them strong - stronger than most Toraono. Once the beast had been controlled the boy seemed to have little trouble with his Otherside taking over and even started to work with it again on harder missions though this eventually lead to more fear towards him.
Eventually a strange message would be given to him in the form of an old notebook he'd use to write in to keep his nightmares less...horrible. The journal had been thrown out a long time ago but he had awakened to find it next to his night stand with the words "Your Father is connected to the Tower," written on the only remaining page that had not been tore out. The only tower Michino could think of was the one that belonged to the Kazekage. During his visit he by chance met the previous Kazekage, Takahashi Sousuke; just as well by chance they were attacked by a man they were speaking of.
Ryuu Tama, a mad scientist with a sordid past, revealed himself before his old friend in the first time in years for reasons that seemed like suicide as he kidnapped a random young girl and threatened her life before disappearing. Mentioning that the crazed kidnapper was possibly the father Michino was seeking the two paired up to go rescue the girl and deliver a beating. In the fight that ensued the boy managed to have his back broken by a powerful boxer from the underground circuits that were still going despite Sousuke's best efforts. A mysterious power rose up in the boy at that time. A power that even Owari didn't know of, and was so terrified by it retreated from Michino's mental plane and into an old relic he carried on his person.
The power that overtook him gave him control over a shadow that attacked the mind as much as it attacked the body. It also allowed him to control his body despite the broken spine and through it he was able to defeat his opponent. He then squared off against his father with the Steward. In the end it was the revealed to Tama that the boy was his son, and the distraction allowed an end to the fight with no one dying, but the power that had held up the teenager now fled away. It left his Otherside trapped away in a relic, far from his reach, and his back still broken. Through a selfless act, Ryuu Tama sacrificed a bit of himself and healed the injury, before willingly turning himself over to the ANBU. In turn it crumbled the entire Underground Empire he had slowly built up over the last decade.
Despite having found his father, the relationship he had wanted was anything but. Ryuu Tama was of a lineage of Ancients that had an impossible pride and after a few months the old scientist seemed just aggravated by his son's mere presence. The man obviously was not father material and thus Michino turned his affection towards the man who was helping him - Sousuke and his family. He also ran across a trio of goons that proved to him just how weak he was as he and the girl who had managed to beat them into submission once came back with a vengeance. Through luck and a kiss they were able to avoid being caught, but Michino saw a weakness inside of him that needed to be cured.
Looking for a reason to change his outlook on life and he turned to the religion of Mother Suna and decided to go on a pilgrimage into the desert to try and find more balance in his life; as well as forget the stinging words of his hateful new parent. It is unsure what happened in the three weeks he was out in t he Godsfall but the boy returned having grown over six inches and with what appeared to be a completely different body. From there his talents improved and his strengths only got stronger but he was still lacking in something. It was through fate that somehow a shop owner in the Underground got a hold of him and begged him to save the life of himself and his wife from a psycho.
It was there that Michino met a man named Jiro, who was an older shinobi who had been trained by the infamous Akkuma. He overwhelmed the poor Toraono without even really trying, and during the battle the lives of the shopkeeper and his wife were lost.
This lost triggered something again in the boy. He realized that Owari was gone, mysteriously unable to speak to him, and that he was by himself now. He only proved to himself over and over again how bad he was - it was time to step up and change. The fire that had started due to explosions in the store surrounded the two combatants and with a grave injury the boy raised his knuckles up ready to fight.
The ensuing fight caused them both to knock each other out, but they were both saved by ANBU. About a week later, Michino woke up in the hospital and was able to give a report on all that had happened.
Late Teens:
The one thing he was sure of was the need to change. A few weeks later after recovering from his injuries and going through court for burning down most of the Black Market, (he was found innocent), the boy went into full physical therapy and started training himself in the arts of combat with more fierceness than he had ever shown before for anything. The last six to seven months of sixteen he did nothing by train himself both physically and mentally until he hit the natural wall of how far he could take himself.
This eventually turned into his boxing career. While looking for a place to really get some practice without having to worry about shinobi regulations, and to take out the anger Tama spurred, Michino found a strange home in the Underground.
At a dive bar that held no-rule 1-on-1 matches, the young Toraono found a place to give his fists the carnage they sought, and the adrenaline his brain demanded. It was there he met the daughter of Uzumoreru Toushin - Chiyo. In a single night they hit it off and became nearly famous in the Underground as a power couple; despite Toushin’s attempts at first to kill him.
His life was looking up, for once, but like all stories of rising pride, the bitch hand of fate struck him down. The mysterious father of his birth finally revealed himself as he attacked Michino, Chiyo, Sousuke, and the diner they all attempted to celebrate at. In the battle that ensued, Tengokai removed Michino’s left leg and the soul attached to it before outright killing Ryuu Tama. Through the assistance only of Kazekage Katsuo and Sousuke was the injured Toraono able to ressurect his dead half-brother and bring and end to the fight.
However without a leg and the way his injury was garnished caused a great deal of new pains. For one, due to lacking a soul from his knee down, Michino had the luck of never worrying about ghost pains…but it also meant the current technology for shinobi prosthetics wouldn’t work either. After 3 months in a deep depression and near total seclusion, his girlfriend finally had enough and put her foot down. Hard.
Michino was forced out of his run-down home in side of the Toraono Dojo and into her apartment. From there she cared and nursed his mentality back, but not enough for him to regain any desire to do anything.
Then one night her father, the bastard Uzu, stepped by and picked a verbal fight with Michino. Using only the harshest of barbs the assassin picked at the twenty year old until he lunged at Chiyo’s father in an attempt to honestly kill him. While it was easily deflected, Toushin used this moment to remind the ebony youth that he still had a fighting instinct. So long as he had that, he had a reason to continue swinging.
With a burning passion put back into his soul, and through the enlisted help of both Tama, Chiyo, and even Toushin, the man was able to cobble together a way to fight using mostly a mix of ninjutsu. Yet it wasn’t quite enough to re-enlist back into their military. Then one night, as he pondered how he would regain his strength, an old but familiar voice whispered into the back of his head;
“Just use my leg.”
Owari, who had stayed silent for years, returned to his mental plane one night with a plan to help him. The creature who had at one time was nothing more than a force and a voice now projected a strong female image into his mind as she spoke. For the last few years, she too had been training. Through the help of the Youkai’s upper echelon, Owari was able to forge a body on their astral plane. However, since they were connected in both Contract and Soul, she could possess his body when he needed and thus give him a leg made of Cursed Chakra to display his true power. With his handicap now a lure to underestimate him, the Toraono began to once more train his body completely through the help of his demonic half.

It had been three days since Michino had last seen Suna.
The mission was supposed to be easy, especially since he had a handicap, but the number 1 rule of the desert was; only the strong survived. Right now, he wasn’t feeling very strong.
The enemy had come out of nowhere, all wearing the clothing of common bandits but striking with the timing of trained militants. The one-legged shinobi had managed to act fast enough to secure the caravan’s safe passage, but the bandits had chased him and Owari deep back into the Godsend. Wounded, tired, and definitely dehydrated, the duo sharing the same body was nearing the end of the Toraono’s mortal coil. For the demon side of his soul, it wouldn’t mean much except that she was stuck in the Youkai realm until someone else signed their contract and pulled her out. Of course, for him, it meant death. His soul would pass on, his dreams would die, and everything he had known would drop to rest. The world would continue without his presence. That very thinking kept him pushing forward, knowing that he couldn’t disappoint those back home who had begged him to wait a little longer before rejoining the military.
Humble was rarely a word Michino associated himself with.
His dirt and blood caked arm absorbed some of the impact as he fell against the large rocky surface of a mountain. His mind instantly thought of the demon cave and wondered how accepting they would be a second time. Yet, as he dragged on, he found no entrance into the rocks he leaned against. His foot, followed by Owari’s, dragged through the sand beneath him as every step sapped more and more strength. The absoluteness of death finally began to settle into his form when his next foot fall didn’t strike sand, but water.
Eyes that had been kept shut against the burning light and stinging sands shot open to look around. Pure darkness surrounded him and he could see, hear, nor feel anything. Overwhelmingly did he at first believe that this void must be his end. Looking down at their feet he shuffled one and then the other, realizing suddenly that he was on a precipice. The young man turned his head to look back and was nearly blinded by the sun and heat that shook him. When he turned back forward, the void awaited.
Michino stood between certain death and the unknown. Turning towards the darkness he took another step forward knowing that, at least this way, he was still alive. Through all of the dark magic he had suffered through, even going through hell itself to save Owari, the ebony male felt a certain kindred connection to the void that lay waiting before him. As the demon soul’s foot stepped down, his whole body suddenly fell into liquid. Before he could raise a hand to swim up, a force grabbed his body and dragged him further and further down into the water that grew colder. His breath escaped him before long, and his lungs inhaled the inky sea surrounding; but death did not come.
The moment the shadows sunk into his lungs the void tore itself apart to reveal a moonlit jungle. He was on his hands and knees, still felt soaked, but at least the air was humid and not freezing. As he tried to gather his wits, the Toraono gathered both feet under him, and stood up. It took him a moment to realized that he had done so with both of his own legs, and really it wasn’t until he felt a strong furry warmth brush against his new left leg did he realize he had regrown his leg. Looking down he saw a panther that rose itself up from hip height, to suddenly towering over the male. Without a word it turned away from Michino and began to casually walk through the jungle. The man followed the beast without hesitation, simply knowing that he was supposed to…though he couldn’t be sure as to why.
The warrior followed the feline for a brief moment. In the short time he walked he realized that Owari wasn’t within his reach anymore. He genuinely couldn’t feel her presence in the back of his mind like normal, and Michino wasn’t sure how to take this sudden blessing. It had been some time since he was able to relax and keep his mental seals down; the female demon had a way of speaking too much. Yet she was also a full half of his power. Without her connection to the Youkai realm he couldn’t properly pull out the latent ability in his blood.
Pushing past the last giant leaf with these conflicting thoughts, the warrior looked up at an ancient pyramid shaped temple. Torches lit up with a purple flame that fully encircled the shrine save for one. The moment the giant panther walked past it, its form changed again into a mix of a female human and feline robed in red. Stepping past the torch himself, a flame exploded out causing the other flames in the circle to do the same, until a large shield of purple fire covered the triangular building. Not even a second later, as he walked forward, Michino felt the presence of sheer evil explode beyond the barrier. It wasn’t regular evil tempered by man, no, this was a true physical incarnation of the moral power.
“Please, pay it no mind,” spoke a gentle, almost motherly, tone, “Those who roam these lands are not amused with your presence, Toraono Michino, but this was necessary.”
“Wait, but ho-, no who…where?” he tried to respond to all this sudden transformation. The priestess simply held a finger to his lips with a look a mother would give a child who asked too much, “Soon, but right now, follow me.”
Where was he going to go? The panther turned away and began to ascend the stairs leading up to a small room at the top of the pyramid; Michino could only follow.
The trip up the stairs took far more time than the walk through the jungle. Once he reached the top his new leg was burning something fierce making him really wonder if he really had that leg back. Something inside of his gut told him no, but the real pain he hadn’t felt in over a year rekindled a certain spark of hope.
The priestess was already at the top, half laying on a throne of pillows before a single throne. Seated in that throne was a male panther/humanoid mix like the one who had lead him here. He too was robed in red, had to stand at least nine-feet tall, and held the natural muscles one would expect a wild large cat to have. His image alone was intimidating, but as Michino stepped forward to greet the man he felt a cold wave of power instantly bring him to his knees. The Toraono gazed up at the man seated in power, suddenly awe-struck by a strength he couldn’t even begin to fathom. Before madness could take hold of him the king reached down and touched his shoulder, breaking the overwhelming emotions that threatened his sanity.
“Y-y-you…you’re…Hyou…the God of Death…” Michino sputtered as he looked up at the cat man’s rich purple eyes.
“A, god of death, young decedent of the Demon Beast King. There are a handful of us who regulate the flow of souls in order to keep a balance. Jashin, is another, who handles his business far more chaotically. Another, Akkuma, who is more of an upstart compared to The Order, still has a sizable effect on death himself. Even you’re half brother…he too stands on a precipice that pushes him far beyond the limits of what man was supposed to achieve.” Hyou stood, towering over the twenty-year old before waving his hands over the jungle beyond.
“This land, my kingdom, once stretched far beyond your imagination. Yet, the further man strays away from himself, the smaller my land becomes. When the wicked can duck out of the punishment their souls demand, the Balance begins to shift…and so, again, it is time. Time for another Prophet to speak my name once more.” Michino tried to respond, still overwhelmed by the mere presence of a true god. The giant only smirked and knelled down before the Toraono before continuing, I have chosen you, personally, son of man. It has been a very long time since I’ve had to force my paw upon the Humans, and you will be my weapon to cull the immortal, so that their souls may be redeemed and that the Balance be maintained.
Michino tried to talk. He had so many question about his clan, the blood that flowed through his veins…anything. Yet he couldn’t bring enough will up to even mumble. Hyou seemed to understand that, despite the power residing in this first human he had deemed worthy in hundreds of years, it could not stand his presence. Which meant the boy would still need a lot of training…if he could barely gaze upon a god, he wouldn’t be able to even stand in its presence?
Michino watched helplessly as the panther god reached down, gripped his clothing, and lifted him from the ground before standing back to full height, easily lifting the smaller male.
“But I see that you’re no where near the power you could have. Before you can become my prophet, you need to accept death itself into your soul. Once you’ve mastered this, you will never truly die. Your mortal shell will pass on, but you shall roam these lands beneath me as the priestess here has before you. Here, a kingdom awaits you, but first you most learn to control it!” Then, with a single flick, the seven-foot tall youth was sent flying from the temple, through the flame barrier, and back crashing into the deadly jungle beyond…
Time had a strange way of moving, in the jungle, Michino found out in the first week he was there. The moon never set, a sun never rose, and the evil that roamed the lands couldn’t kill him; though he had lost many battles against a shape-shifting beast of shadow. However, he wished that it could, as the alternative was watching helplessly over evil souls as they committed the sins that trapped them here. So many good intentions that had turned to rust. So many promises broken. More than once in his first week did the Toraono consider simply allowing himself to be swallowed hole by the shadow beast, but every time that thought even came close to his conscious he could hear Chiyo’s voice screaming to not give up. His hand would burst out of the closed maw and once more he would drag himself away from living sin.
After counting three-hundred and fifteen days, the man finally lost track of time. With it came a strange clarity and for the first time in almost a year he was able to finally avoid the Sin Beast, as he had dubbed it. As another year would pass, Michino’s flesh would become paler, darker, but then slowly shift into an almost purple hue. His mind, body, and spirit all endured constantly avoiding death and evil and it brought a strange transformation over him. In the last few days before he made his move, his eyes had began to take on a glow that allowed him to see in the moonlit jungle more than he could of possibly imagined. It was then that he suddenly realized that the entire time he had been stranded in this jungle of death, he was starting to turn the hunt around.
Three more months would pass before the death cries of a creature shook the jungle and temple centered. Following the scream a pillar of purple light exploded into the sky with a force that shattered the shield surrounding the pyramid. Hyou stood up from his rest immediately, and began to casually walk down the stairs. When he reached the bottom, Michino stepped beyond the torches, lifted his hand, and brought them back to life to recreate the shield. This time, however, the screams of evil did not complain against the return of light as it had last time; for Michino had slayed it.
In his other hand, a small blue flame rested. He rose the blue flame up to the death god, no longer bothered by his presence, and smiled. The expression of joy took the panther god aback for just a moment, as never before had a prophet smiled after mastering an aspect of death. Hyou took the blue flame away from his newest disciple, deciding to ignore the human’s mirth, and turned to blow a breath against the flame. The fire suddenly engulfed the pyramid, causing the staircase near the bottom to crack down the center before collapsing inwards. The moment it had the flame flickered away instantly and a wave of Dead Energy rushed passed the king and apprentice. They both easily stood their ground before it passed, and then walked through the new opening.
Beyond the cracked opening was an actual tunnel that eventually lead back into what appeared to be the very thing the pyramid had been built to contain. Held down by seals and ninjutsu so ancient that Michino only recognized a few symbols was an object in the shape of a cross. With a snap of his furry fingers, the seal melted away into the air to reveal a simple sword buried inside of a black stone.
“Valmanway…the Blade of a Thousand Winds. I have had this sword kept tucked away since the rise of the First Men…but unlike my other prophets, you’re going to need every last bit of help. The terrors that roam your land now are far more than the power I can give through one of my fangs. Michino, you must carry the burden this sword carries, and for that I apologi-,” yet before the king could finish the youth had already strode forward and ripped the blade from its stone. A strong, red colored, torrent began to surround the new prophet, and with a simple gesture he calmed the violent winds whisking from the weapon before acting as if he were to sheath it. The moment the hilt met his waist the red colored weapon vanished in a gust of air. Hyou could only stand impressed.
“Kings, do not apologize,” he spoke simply to the god. The demon panther smiled and said not another word, knowing that the man was more than ready to return to his world. He placed a heavy hand on Michino’s shoulder, and then shook him.
Heat, light, and a bitterly dry mouth exploded into his senses. Where had been impossibly strong but moments before he now felt the familiar weakness of a mortal shell once more.
“Michino! Oh, thank the kami!” screamed the voice of his demon half inside of his head, “You just dropped all of a sudden! It’s been nearly four hours, I really thought you were dead!”
The Toraono didn’t respond. He coughed from the dryness in his throat and turned his eyes to stare across the Godsend. Eventually, he found what his glowing purple eyes sought; a trail of death. Pushing off the ground, he began to hobble back towards the end of that path - back home to Sunagakure, slowly explaining to Owari where head been for the last few hours…

Hyou’s Prophet
The Toraono clan of Sunagakure is known for many things, and have upheld the laws and order of their village for longer than many have lived. Yet there is a smaller branch inside of the clan that isn’t known for much at all, save that they are those who relate stronger to the demon panther Hyou. Many who come from this branch of the Toraono find themselves in ANBU or doing some kind of spy work, but once every few hundred years the true purpose of the panther god comes to surface in the form of a Prophet of Hyou; known also as a Deathless Slayer. Created purely to combat immortals so that they can finally taste death, a Prophet is a terrifying force of power that has a unique control over death itself, and can pull upon the memories of the damned to gain access to abilities and techniques far beyond those in their own clan.
Information Prerequisites: B-Rank, one fully mastered BL/CA Effects:
The user gains the ability to integrate up to two additional BL/CA into themselves. This may be done by an application of at least 1000 words, once per month. The user is allowed their first additional BL/CA immediately after obtaining the Kinjutsu, if they so choose.
Any of the user's BL/CA may be dropped when a new one is picked up if they so choose. A Prophet cannot retain any techniques from a dropped table on their customized BL/CA.
If one of their Bloodlines has multiple branches, the user only has access to a single branch. However, they may have the same Bloodline fill multiple of their 3 BL/CA slots to gain acess to an additional branch.
From these BL/CA, the user constructs their own Bloodline or Core Ability for use during battle. This BL/CA can be altered in the user's dojo at any point outside of battle, with skills selected to be active to fill the BL/CA structure. The user can also swap between using a BL/CA structure at will. (Exact specifications and conversions of techniques between BL and CA in spoiler.)
Bloodlines are constructed out of 10 different skills, arrayed on a standard BL chart and split into ranks. (Example.) As most CA skills cannot be split into ranks, CA skills other than Boosts would simply take up the normal space on a BL table anyway.
Core Abilities are constructed out of 30 points worth of skills, 20 of which the user has access to at any given time. A Prophet Core Ability user can swap between active and inactive skills on their full table through the same method a normal Core Ability user can. (See here, the spoiler tab labeled Training Your Core Ability.)
Bloodline Activated Passives, Styles, and Non-Final Jutsu = Core Ability Special Moves, Styles, and Jutsu Modifications
Bloodline Final Jutsu = Core Ability Final Jutsu
All Bloodline Passives and Activated Passives cost 1 CA point per rank, to 3 ranks, but the full version must be on the customized table.
Other Bloodline skills whose final rank is attained before 1200 PL cost 2 CA points.
Other Bloodline skills whose final rank is attained after 1200 PL cost 3 CA points.
Final BL jutsu cost 2 CA points for the final rank, like CA final jutsu. If the user wishes to use a rank 1 or 2 BL final jutsu, they will only cost 1 CA point, but the full version must be on the customized table.
Customized tables must not have more than four Passive-type skills (as defined above). They also must have one single Final Jutsu, but no more than that.
The Prophet can alter which skills from their 3 BL/CA tables are on their Prophet BL/CA every two weeks.
The Prophet's secondary cap buff limits are set to a maximum of +6, and their buff limits to +30%.
Skills and abilities that raise a secondary stat in a class (such as Cursed Seals) count against this limit for the amount of the difference between the two class levels. (A capped player raising a secondary from Average to High would have that counted as +4 against their limit of +6.)
Notes: - A 'fully mastered' BL/CA is considered to be the full Bloodline table unlocked, or access to 20 CA points regardless of whether they have all been used or not.
Blessings of the Dead - Kinjutsu Ability
Only able to be achieved through accepting death into their own souls and then consuming the flesh of a Sin Beast, a Prophet is able to touch upon the aspect of All Things Dead, and thus seem to be able to pull from a large pool of abilities that are normally exclusive to other branches of clans both Toraono and not. Then, as if they had always known how, they can use these abilities with a talent their original masters could have only dreamed of doing.
Information Prerequisites: Hyou’s Prophet Effect: All Independent Special Moves and Activated Passives cost -15% CP to activate and maintain. All Dependent Special Moves and Modifications to Jutsu that cost additional CP have their additional CP cost reduced by 10%. All BL/CA jutsu have their CP costs reduced by 10%. Notes:
- This only applies to basic BL/CA skills, not ones taken by Unearthly Replication, Imperfect Memory, or Immortal Breaker.
Imperfect Memory - Kinjutsu Ability
While a Prophet has access to lofty knowledge to make even the proudest of men jealous, he too is still mortal and can only retain so much. Those these abilities aren’t perfect they can still be used with a mastery and understanding that nearly make them skills unique to the Prophet themselves.
Information Prerequisites: Hyou’s Prophet Effect: - The user chooses up to 3 Special Moves or Jutsu from any BL/CA that is not one of their 3 BL/CA (these do not have to all be from the same BL/CA). These must be stated in the user's Dojo, and require a 300 word RP to activate. These may be swapped following the same rules as learning/unlearning abilities. - Each of these chosen skills may be used as normal, but have a cooldown of twenty seconds. Additionally, if any of these skills have a duration longer than ten seconds, it is reduced to ten seconds. Note:
- Special Moves/Jutsu that require other BL/CA skills as a prerequisite to be used are ignored (such as Uchiha's Tsukiyomi requiring Mangekyou Sharingan).
- Cannot choose the final Jutsu of a BL/CA. Cannot choose a technique belonging to one of their BL/CAs.
- The user may skip the RP to learn the technique if it is one they have copied in battle with Unearthly Replication or Immortal Breaker and retained until the end of the battle.
Unearthly Replication - B-Rank Ninjutsu
Considered by some Prophets to be their quintessential skill, a lesser, quicker replica of the means through which they may learn a whole set of techniques by watching others. By studying their opponent’s soul, they can cross reference their techniques with the Knowledge of the Damned, and quickly come up with a way to do the exact same techniques with their own chakra. However, these skills rarely remain longer than a battle, quickly forgotten, as a Prophet must be careful how much wisdom they steal from the dead; ‘less the go insane.
Information Prerequisites:Hyou’s Prophet, B-Rank Rank 1: Allows the Prophet to reflexively copy a single BL/CA Special Move or Jutsu from a target for their own use. If the technique is one that targets the user, they must make a check against the caster at -2; if the technique does not have a target or is targeting someone else, the check is made at -1. Each copied technique may only be used twice in battle before being used up. The user may not dodge or resist the technique they are attempting to copy if it is aimed at them. Mastered: Allows the Prophet to reflexively copy a single BL/CA Special Move, Jutsu, or Modification to a jutsu from a target for their own use. If the technique is one that targets the user, they must make a check against the caster at -1; if the technique does not have a target or is targeting someone else, the check is made at +0. Each copied technique may only be used three times in battle before being used up. The user may dodge or resist the technique they are attempting to copy if it is aimed at them, but at a penalty of -2. Rank 1 Cost: 1.5 AP to initiate, 2% Max CP Mastered Cost: 1.5 AP to initiate, 2.5% Max CP Notes:
- This does not require handseals, and may use any accuracy type the user desires. - The user may only copy two BL/CA skills at a time, if this is used again the first skill is overwritten. - This technique is not considered to be any element Ninjutsu, regardless of if the user possesses techniques that modify what element techniques are, and cannot be used with Affinity Moves. - This skill cannot be one they have already, and may only be a Special Move/Jutsu/Modification for a jutsu effect. For a Modification to be chosen, the user must have the skill it is modifying. - The user must pay all associated costs in order to use copied techniques, with the exception of any unique costs that are a part of the BL/CA itself (such as a Hachiashi's Mucus Pool). Any BL/CA prerequisite for this stolen skill is not applied to the user. - If the user has any copied skills still left with uses at the end of the battle, they may make them one of their Imperfect Memory skills.
Hyou’s Presence - B-Rank Ninjutsu
To stand before a God of Death is to know what it feels like to constantly die. A Prophet must first learn to stand in Hyou’s presence before they are allowed to earn their title. After they learn how to stand in front of an embodiment of death, they too begin to exude this same presence. Once mastered it can be used to drain another being of their life’s energy to sustain their own; a nifty trick for battling immortals.
Information Prerequisites:Hyou’s Prophet Rank 1: The user selects a single target and makes a check against them at -1. If the user succeeds, the victim's CP modifier is lowered by -3 for the rest of the battle. The user gains this CP modifier for themselves, with their current and maximum CP increased by the amount stolen from the victim. Mastered: The user selects a single target and makes a check against them at +0. If the user succeeds, the victim's CP modifier is lowered by -5 for the rest of the battle. The user gains this CP modifier for themselves, with their current and maximum CP increased by the amount stolen from the victim. Special Action - Aura Break: Instead of gaining the victim's CP and CP modifier, the user may sacrifice it in order to enable them to freely activate a single Passive, Activated Passive,Boost,, Modification to an ability, or Style from one of their inactive BL/CA. This technique remains active for the user for the rest of the battle, or can be swapped out for another of its type as per normal Prophet rules. Rank 1 Cost: 2.5 AP, 2% Max CP Mastered Cost: 2.5 AP, 2.5% Max CP Notes:
- This does not require handseals, and may use any type of accuracy check the user desires. - This technique is not considered to be any element Ninjutsu, regardless of if the user possesses techniques that modify what element techniques are, and cannot be used with Affinity Moves. - This technique may only be used once per target per battle.
Immortal Breaker - A-Rank Ninjutsu
The very goal, the drive of a Prophet, is to find those who tamper with the Balance and punish them with finality. In doing so Hyou trains his chosen in how to recognize those who have tampered souls and how to end their Unlife so that they may pass on. In doing so every Prophet has an ability to seal away and then take an immortal’s most powerful abilities to use for themselves.
Information Prerequisites:Hyou’s Prophet, A-Rank Rank 1: The Prophet selects one target in battle and targets them at -2 for a check. If this check succeeds, a single random Passive, Activated Passive,Boost, or Modification to an ability on the victim's BL/CA is Sacrificed, disabling them for one full round. The Prophet gains that technique for the rest of the round. At the end of the round, the user may choose whether to discard the Sacrificed technique or have it replace one of the skills in their pool for Avatar of Divinity, if they possess it. Mastered: The Prophet selects one target in battle and targets them at +0 for a check. If this check succeeds, a single random Passive, Activated Passive,Boost, Style, or Modification to an ability on the victim's BL/CA is Sacrificed, disabling them for one full round. The Prophet gains that technique for the rest of the round. At the end of the round, the user may choose whether to discard the Sacrificed technique or have it replace one of the skills in their pool for Avatar of Divinity, if they possess it. Rank 1 Cost: 3 AP and 7% Max CP Mastered Cost: 3 AP and 8% Max CP Notes:
- This does not require handseals, and may use any accuracy type check the user desires. - This technique is not considered to be any element Ninjutsu, regardless of if the user possesses techniques that modify what element techniques are, and cannot be used with Affinity Moves.
- If the user lacks the Ability a victim's Modification is based on, that Modification is excluded from the pool of potential Sacrificed skills.
- If the target is maintaining any BL/CA technique that is disabled when this technique succeeds upon them, that technique automatically fails. - The victim is still capable of using other BL/CA techniques that would otherwise rely on the Sacrificed technique as a prerequisite. - Cannot succeed more than once per round.
- Sacrificed techniques may be chosen for the user's Genetic Implant after the battle is over, provided they were not discarded.
Champion of Death - S-Rank Ninjutsu
The most powerful skill a Prophet has at hand, the first skill they are taught, and the last skill they will ever use. By channeling the energy from Hyou’s Hell, the Prophet over-floods themself with both information of every technique, skill, ninjutsu, and martial style ever known to every soul that has passed through his plane, and the power to use them. Though such strength comes at a steep price, and unlike those they hunt, the Prophets of Hyou are always mortal men and women who have a shell that can be destroyed by the powers they channel to serve justice to the Deathless.
Information Prerequisites:Hyou’s Prophet, S-Rank, All other Prophet techniques Mastered Mastered: The user is able to activate up to six pre-chosen skills from their pool of BL/CA skills. These skills will remain available and active as long as this technique is maintained. Additionally, upon activation of this technique, cooldowns on all of the user's BL/CA techniques (including those in Imperfect Memory) are reset, allowing their immediate usage again. Cost: 4 AP and 10% Max CP/Rnd to initiate, 4% Max CP/HP per round Notes:
- This does not require handseals.
- Skills are chosen and selected in the user's Dojo thread while the user is not in a fight. These skills can be any from their BL/CA that they are not already actively using. (BL/CA techniques in the user's full Prophet CA table but not among the user's activated 20 points may be chosen.) The user may not select extra Passives, Activated Passives, Boosts, or Modifications to Abilities for their Avatar of Divinity pool.
- This technique is not considered to be any element Ninjutsu, regardless of if the user possesses techniques that modify what element techniques are, and cannot be used with Affinity Moves.

With a burning passion put back into his soul, and through the enlisted help of both Tama, Chiyo, and even Toushin, the man was able to cobble together a way to fight using mostly a mix of ninjutsu. Yet it wasn’t quite enough to re-enlist back into their military. Then one night, as he pondered how he would regain his strength, an old but familiar voice whispered into the back of his head;

The user may not select extra Passives, Activated Passives, Boosts, or Modifications to Abilities for their Avatar of Divinity pool.
