Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Isamu was out of the sandstorm and into the fire, or so to speak. He stood in front of what was known to be the Gates of Sand. A rickety looking lift that take you from the surface to the pit Sunagakure sits in or rather the cave as it is. Isamu knew if Sand was anything like Mist there would be ANBU sitting around on patrol waiting for someone to show up. Naturally, Isamu simply stood with his arms crossed waiting on said person to appear.

Isamu's pale white skin would be barely visible under his black hood. His blue eyes shone out like a bright beacon, while the rest of his outfit was a dull black sweat suit. Isamu was clearly not use to the hot climate of Sunagakure, and was dressed for much cooler weather. Isamu smirked slightly as he spoke.

"Come out, come out. Where ever you are?"

There was no need to say anything more, espically if Isamu's instincts were wrong and he was simply talking to his self.

She made a point of going to the gates every day. It helped to reset her frame of mind, to remind her that she was a guest, and more of her people may come any day. She was constantly on the lookout for any refugees to come their way from Mist, and had never yet been successful. Today that was going to change.

Shuu's eyesight was second to none, and people's chakra was far more distinguishing than their appearance. So even though she rubbed her eyes to make sure they were not deceiving her, she already knew that they were not.

The one that stood here was none other then Sunaku Isamu. As the former leader of Mist's medical branch as well as the heir to her clan of under the table peacemakers she had made a point to learn most of the shinobi in the village, especially those from another important family, and those with bloodline limits certainly earned a place in that list. As former Sennin pretty much anyone from Mist would likely recognize her, the one who had tapped Koizumi Kyoko as her replacement.

She clicked on her radio and tuned it to frequency she shared with Uri.

"Boya, can I get you at the gates ASAP? We have another Kiri shinobi inbound."<i></i> meanwhile she signaled the gate guards her intent and proceeded forward to speak with the new arrival.

"Isamu-kun! It's good to see another Kiri-nin! I wasn't sure how many survived! You must be thirsty, here. Drink it slow."<i></i> she reached down to her belt, the buckle of which was the symbol of Mist, and pulled free the canteen she regularly carried on her hip now, offering it to the new arrival.

"Do you bring any news of other survivors?"<i></i> it was silly to hope, but a bit of her unreasonably expected to hear of her family.

The white-haired chuunin had responded in decent time, arriving in an outfit most familiar; a pair of overalls tied around his waist, a dirt-stained white t-shirt, tool belt, and two brown leather satchels slung over his should. Uri spent a lot of time at the gates, but when he wasn't he was often out in the village performing maintenance work to upkeep the wear and tear from being underground in such an unstable environment. The village would crumble without him, he was almost sure of it.

Fetching a lollipop from his belt, he unwrapped it and popped it between his lips. His stride was slow and deliberate as he arrived on scene, eyes passing between the two kiri-nin, "I swear, Dori-chan, if you keep calling me like this, I'm going to start thinking you have a thing for me."<i></i> There was a brief chortle and he rolled his eyes at himself before turning his full attention onto Isamu, "Greetings, friend and welcome to Sunagakure. You did well to make it here, we've been seeing to refugees from Kirigakure for sometime. Heck, even the Mizukage himself had passed through not all that long ago. Odd fella, he was."<i></i>

Isamu call was answered, but not by who or what he was expecting. A beautiful woman with the symbol Kirigakure among her belt approached Isamu. He was shocked to find out that she knew him, surely he was missing something. Isamu rattled his brain for an answer, and came up with one possibility. Isamu had met the previous medical sennin once, but couldn't recall her name. For some reason he was leaning towards Kimi-chan but he wasn't positive he was correct. So instead of answering her greeting with her name he remained friendly without indulging in her name. The slight nonrecognition of who she was might be caught upon his face for a split second before Isamu hides it away as if it was never there.

Isamu took the canteen and took a decent drink before speaking.

"Thank you, it's good to see another Kiri-nin as well. Unfortunately, you're the only one I've seen. I'm not certain what happen at Mist. I returned to Mist from my "business" trip, to find out that there was no Mist to return to."

Isamu reached the canteen back to Shu as another shinobi approached them. His cockiness reminded Isamu of Kuromaru. The new shinobi failed to introduce himself as anything more than a sunagakure-nin, so Isamu decided to cal him that. Weirdly enough he mentioned the Mizukage, automatically Isamu's mind jumped to Renzo. That was wrong however, since Renzo was replaced by Taro. How'd that happen Isamu was unable to find out before he was called away on "business". As for him being an "odd fella" Isamu could agree with the point.

Isamu smiled at the comment made by the Sand-nin as he replied.

"For that I thank you, as for the Mizukage. Are you referring to Taro? I was always unsure about that one. Preferred Renzo myself."

Isamu shifted his gaze to the Mist-nin.

"As for you, it seems I'm at a disadvantage. You know my name yet, I can't recall yours. I would blame it on my old age, but I'm still quite young. I could guess if you like? Based on your appearance I would go with something exotic."

Isamu paused, hesitating for only seconds. Putting an end to his game as he got serious.

"Why have you decided to stay in Sunagakure? Wouldn't be easier trying to find more refugees by traveling, rather than staying in one spot? Or do you have more reasons to stay?"

Isamu raised his right eyebrow slightly, and then glanced at the Sand-nin that had appeared flirting with Shu.

Perhaps there was more going on here then Isamu had caught at first glance.

When word came from Isamu that he hadn't seen anyone else, she sighed.

"I showed up with a handful of civilian refugees myself. Pretty similar circumstances. I was out travelling and when I headed home there was no home. I didn't even make it to Kiri's gates, instead I encountered a handful of injured civilians needing an escort to somewhere safe with shinobi-level medical facilities. So I brought them here. the Steward who runs this place, Takahashi Sousuke, is a good man and he offered us refugee status. Appearantly a deep freeze took over Kiri...weather it was a freak weather phenomenon or not remains to be seen, all we know is our tropical home is now a frozen wasteland."<i></i> She sighed, watching Uri's approach and offered him a thankful smile. At his joke she rolled her eyes.

"You wish, Uri-boya. I'm not into cradle robbing, so I think you're safe. Besides, I think I know another who has their eye on you,"<i></i> she grinned, winking, but keeping her secrets for now. At mention of the Mizukage it whipped Shuu's head around however to look at Uri intently.

"Mizukage you say...which one?"<i></i> She'd heard a series of successors to Taro was appointed, but he was the one who she'd last seen holding the post personally. When Isamu mentioned a failing memory Shuu grinned and shrugged. His mild flirtations didn't escape her, and she thought it was a bit cute, but he was closer to Uri's age than hers. Still he was also a bit of home, which was welcome, something she hadn't had much of for a while now, so those details tended to offset eachother.

"My name is Kendori Shuu, former Medical Sennin of Kirigakure before being forced to retire due to injury, and this is an acquaintance I met in my travels, Kuroda Uri. He thinks he's hot shit, and while he's an awesome ninja, his playboy skills need a bit of work. I'm here helping out while the civilians I escorted here receive safe harbor while they heal and recover, and decide where to go from here. I don't know how much you knew about clan politics, but the Kendori Clan held a fair amount of influence behind the scenes and helped keep the peace and be a neutral party. We read up on most clan players, Including the Minamoto, the Isaki, the Sunaku, the Haku...all the ones with political powers or important bloodline limits. That's how I knew you."<i></i> She glanced to Uri and smiled congenially to him.

"There are some from Kiri that I wouldn't consider trustworthy due to shifty personalities, but Isamu-kun is not one of them. I'll vouch for him, if you wouldn't mind letting him in."<i></i>

"Truth be told, I am unfamiliar with most of your Kages. This man could have been an imposter for all I know, but he did carry himself like a Kage,"<i></i> Uri tapped a finger against his lower lip in thought and then put it skyward when he remembered, "Hoshikata, Isaki. Claimed to be the second Mizukage. I suppose I should have spent less time getting into shenanigans and maybe did a little more politicking while I was in Mist."<i></i> The white-haired man laughed, rubbing the back of his head.

There was a moment when the two mist ninja had an exchange and Uri was free to observe them. Despite Shuu knowing the newcomer, he hadn't known her whatsoever. Even though Shuu would go as far to vouch for the man, it meant she was doing so out of the goodness of her heart and because he was kin, not because she in fact trusted him. The irony of it was that Uri was normally a very trusting person, but ever since being back to Sunagakure and seeing the state it remained to be in, he was much more leery of people and it appalled him. Regardless of that, officiating refugees was above his pay grade.

"You're welcome to come in, and if you are in fact a Sunaku, you'll blend in well enough. Before you can really do much, you'll have to head to the Kage's tower and go through the motions. Lots of paperwork and little things that need to get done before you can officially be offered stead in the village. With all these new faces showing up, we have to be able to maintain some order."<i></i> Stepping to the side he gestured to the small door just off to the side that would bring them into the literal maw of Barynx, "But lets get inside before the Maelstrom decides to flare up and we lose a few layers of skin."<i></i>

Hoshikata, Isaki. Didn't ring a bell, then again Isamu was away for a long time. Perhaps, this "kage" was still in Sand. Shu answered Isamu's question, telling him that she use to be the medical Sennin. As well as explaining the Sand nin close to her. Uri. Apparently Shu has spent most her time with refugees while in Sand and has yet got a chance to explore. Isamu bowed his head when Shu spoke kindly of him to Uri.

Isamu threw up some dust with his Sand manipulating skills as Uri mentioning him being a Sunaku. Regardless of the desired effect, Uri gestured towards the small door behind him.

Isamu smiled as he spoke "Indeed, paper work is always interesting."

Isamu made his way towards the door, and onward to the Kage's Tower.

When he said the name Shuu's blood ran cold. Isaki Hoshikata. That man was insane. And for some reason beyond her figuring, he had legitimately been appointed Kage, that much she knew. He'd been gunning for power since she'd known him, and was up for Sennin when she'd tapped Kyoko instead, Taro accepting her based on Shuu's recommendation. Hoshikata was batshit crazy, blaming Shuu for not picking him to advance his career and attain more power. He believed Shuu had kept him from greatness...not that it slowed his career any, because he'd made Mizukage a bit later...though by that time Shuu was already out of the village, training to use her new Byakugan. In fact she'd never stepped foot in Kirigakure with Hoshikata in charge...and it was probably for the best.

"For the record, Uri-boya...Hoshikata is one of the ones I wouldn't trust as far as I could throw him. He's an unbalanced megalomaniac. He was kage for a while, and it went to his head. Be as civil as you want...but don't trust him."<i></i> At mention of Isamu getting to some paperwork Shuu smiled gently.

"I have a temporary residence in the Kazekage's Tower, and I've set up shop in their hospital helping out the injured. Feel free to stop on by once you're done if you want to talk."<i></i> She went in with them, and went her separate way, needing to get back to the hospital. In the meantime she would just be a distraction for him doing what he needed to do paperwork-wise. It seemed they all had work to do.

"Thanks again, Uri-boya. I owe you one."<i></i> She offered him a grateful smile, then made her way to the hospital.
