Usually a bright and charming child, the pressure put on Shouka by her family to become a successful shinobi caused her to become more withdrawn and anxious than she once was. She's developed multiple nervous habits, and tends to shy away from conflict. At times, though, one can still see glimpses of her charm and playfulness- especially when she's around family friends and adults she sees the opportunity to charm the socks out of for personal or familial gain. She loves social interaction, and, like most children, enjoys pushing the limits of what she can and cannot get away with. Unlike most children, however, she tends to limit this to getting free things from shop owners or talking her way out of trouble. Physically, she is not much of a risk taker. Due to an upbringing that put strong emphasis on personal appearance, along with having members of her large family filing in and out of her home constantly, she has good manners- though they're not completely refined, and she often finds herself being sloppy, bratty or openly nervous. In particular, she's never been able to shake the habit of toying with her hair.
Like many children, she sees her parents as heroes and wants to please them, to the point that she will believe them against her better judgement. She does the same, but to a lesser degree, with her peers, often following the crowd rather than making her own decisions.
Physical Description:
Shouka is a young girl with short, bright red hair and jet black eyes. She is constantly blowing a single, particularly long strand of hair out of her eyes, or else just tugging at and fiddling with it- to the point where she makes others wonder why she doesn't just cut it short. One look at Shouka will tell you that she was not one to spend much time outdoors. She stands at 4'6”, slightly above average for her age, weighs 67 pounds, and has the smooth, unscarred skin of someone who was blessed not to have experienced many injuries. What little physical training she has had, though, has left her with enough muscle to keep her from looking lanky. She usually wears various pale tunics and peach coloured pants, along with standard issue shinobi shoes to allow easy movement. She's somewhat embarrassed to admit that her parents still won't let her choose all her own clothes. Since she prefers to wear clothes of her own choosing, though, she usually sticks to one or two outfits when she's not training- muted coats or long tunics with dark stockings or pants and comfortable slippers.

The Sanohe were an undistinguished clan made up of moderately successful, lower to middle class merchants who resided in Kumogakure. That is, until one member suceeded in the capture of a powerful missing-nin. The fame afforded by this feat brought attention to the Sanohe clan, and, piqued by the possibility of political and economic rise, many members of its members abandoned the merchant trade in order to capitalise on the, now much more alluring, 'shinobi option'.
The techniques they used to prepare the clan's children to become shinobi ranged from lax to downright cruel. Some attempted to viciously train the kids in order to enter the academy at the earliest possible date, issuing harsh punishments on members who failed to enter or graduate from the academy. As they were a family of merchants (and not shinobi), however, the lesson plans were usually clumsy and inefficient, and as a result, a general state of uneasiness rose among the clan, with many children joining the academy each year only to drop out soon after.
Shockingly, Shouka was ecstatic to hear the news that she would enter the academy. Until that point she'd been raised under the anticipation that she'd be some merchant's wife, and was taught courtesy, arithmetic, and all the basic skills needed to run a shop or stall. She seemed to love her lessons, strict as they were. So her family was quite surprised when she ecstatically agreed to adhere to their strict lesson plans and learn the basics, and began looking for any bit of information she could find on shinobi.
