History:
In the heart of Nikkei, Kazuma Santaru's life began living a peaceful life by the docks. His parents were retired ninjas who chose a life of commerce over the risks of shinobi life. For the first seven years of his life, all he knew was the city's rhythm in motion. His schedule rarely gets much change: Wake up, family time, chakra/martial arts training, off to work with his parents, playtime, then learning about his clan's history. But little did he know that his destiny would soon carry him far from the city's embrace.
Kazuma's parents were legendary figures, known for their ability to harness the raw power of storms. They used their incredible bloodline techniques to boost their abilities as traders, using the storms to power their ships and establishing a trade route from their home to Kaze no Kuni. After some time, their village called them once again to act as shinobi. Their task was to unravel the prosperity of Sora, a city within the Wind country they had visited many times. Using their connections they established a new home when Kazuma was about the age of 8 years old in the village. After a short time there, his parents registered him in the academy for the following year, hoping to get more information to send back home.
One day, while investigating deep out into the desert along the golden railways, his parents went under the guise of taking their son out to view the trains. Shortly near sundown, the sand around them rumbled, and the shifting sands began to move all around them as they heard the sound of what seemed like an army of footsteps. Miles away a mountain of beings was moving at an alarming rate toward the family, and with each second the sounds of the footsteps grew louder. His father looked over to Kazumas and his mother, and they quickly went into action, running as quickly as possible with the young boy in his mother's arms.
The distance between them grew shorter with each moment and Kazuma's father knew what he must do, with a sweet kiss to his wife and a warm hug for his son, no words needed to be said as a tear ran down his face. Lightning crackled through the sky as his father's eyes turned a shade of bright yellow, glowing as lightning stuck through the air. His mother screamed to the young child to shield his eyes, but the boy looked on.
Little by little the distance between the two and his father grew just before he could see a great cloud forming around him as the swam grew closer. The sound of thunder and winds rushed through the sands, lightning striking and hitting hundreds of them but it proved to do little against the massive numbers of the swarm. With his final bit of chakra, the man rose up into the sky, floating like a god of storms, the swarm climbing on top of each other to attack him. Massive lightning struck through the man's body and what seemed like an explosion hit the ground, sending thousands flying through the air, some vaporized instantly, but his father could no longer be seen as the horde continued towards him and his mother.
Kazuma and his mother were about a mile away from the village when the horde was drawing near, the gnarls of the creatures were just a couple of feet away as he clutched his mother's clothing tightly scared out of his mind with tears in his eyes tucked away looking down. The swarm had finally caught up to them, a single swipe would cause the mother's back to bleed as she fell to the ground with Kazuma in her arms, Kazuma then blacking out. His mother threw the child forward as she fell, but this ignited something in the child, his family's bloodline coursed through his veins as he rose from the ground similarly to how his father did. His mother was being attacked viciously but with a smile on her face as she knew what had happened, he had finally awakened his latent abilities before succumbing to her injuries.
If one had been there that night they would have seen the carnage of the raw power of storms running loose, lightning and tornados tearing apart pieces of the swarm that were attacking his mother. Each second there was a wide-range lightning attack running through the crowds, vaporizing all in its path, his mother included. Near the storm's end, a large blast sent him flying for several hundred feet.
Kazuma woke up in the dead of night near the entrance of the village, tattered, bruised, and drained of energy but other than that ok. Confused and wondering where his mother was, he had visions of the past few hours, flashes of lightning, and his mother being badly hurt. He searched until he found her body and threw her over his shoulder, She was bleeding very badly, and was unsure he would make it back with her but he finally arrived near the hospital where she was thankfully saved, though not without some permanent injuries. His mother had no recollection of their life in the cloud village, suffered the loss of one of her legs, and was badly scarred on her back.
The loss of his father was horrifying for young Kazuma, but his sacrifice ignited a fire within him. Within a couple of months, he had learned to provide thanks to his family's lucrative business senses and the values they instilled in him. His journey would now take him to Sunagakure's Academy, where he would learn the ways of the shinobi to honor his parents' legacy and fight back against this swarm that had taken his family from him.
