When looking at Haya, the first thing one notices is of course her eyes. She was born with an eye condition called monochrome heterochromia, which means she has eyes of different colors, that of white and black. Over the years, this has given her much grief, but she’s learned to shrug it off, mostly with a snide remark on the contrary. She rarely gets defensive over them, and it's probably due to her rather laid back nature, but if you persist enough you'll probably succeed in pissing her off. The next thing one notices is her height, or rather, the lack thereof. She stands quite short for her age, but luckily has a matching build, so she doesn’t look out of place. Unfortunately for her, even for the age of 12, her endowment is rather small, and while she doesn’t necessarily care, she can get defensive about the fact that she has much less in that area than most people her age. Next on the list are her glasses, nothing really out of the ordinary, just thin rimmed circular spectacles that are constantly held to her face by her chakra. She trained for many years to master this, and it’s to the point now that it’s a subconscious reaction, whenever she has her glasses on, there’s a small, almost insignificant amount of chakra flowing to her temples holding the frames in place. Next on the list is her hair, jet black, and always kept in the same style, poofy, with one bang jetting down her face, splitting it almost in half; a fitting style really. Her clothes are the last thing of note, though one of the most boring. Because of her lack of concern with most of her appearance, she wears mostly black or different shades of blue.
When one first speaks to Haya, the first thing that tends to usually happen is her monochrome eyes dark all over their form, sizing them up, making inferences based on what she sees at first glance. She’s not one to judge people based on looks, but she has learned over her years, and from her family that looks can tell a lot about a person before they even speak a word. Her skill to read people is almost second to none in her clan, and might be one of the reasons she has gotten through so much of her life seemingly without that much work. During the initial parts of the conversation, it may seem like she wasn’t listening, or she was shrugging off what you were saying, but really this is not true. Although she seems unconcerned with the world, she’s actually quite intuitive, almost always on the ball in any given situation. This is probably due to her vast intelligence, highest of most of the people she’s ever met, and great ability to absorb and retain knowledge. She has a love of learning, always wanting to know more and more about more and more things. However, she’s not the one to actually go LOOKING for the information, unless it was something just so interesting or just so important that it required her immediate attention. She believes that information will come to her, and every situation, even the ones that seem mundane can be learning experiences. Although, she has a short tolerance for stupidity. This shouldn’t be concerned with ignorance, mind you, if you don’t know she’ll be happy to educate you, but if you’re stupid about it she’ll probably end up putting you in your place. Her wit is as sharp as any Sennin’s blade, and when unsheathed cannot be tamed until it has tasted mental blood. Because of this she can come off as curt, although never the one to start the rough feelings. Also, her passive philosophy on life usually makes her seem lazy, unmotivated, or unconcerned with everything. This really isn’t the case, while it may have some grain of truth, when something perks her interest, like a chance to learn something, or something amusing she keeps track of it. She’s not a happy-go-lucky ditzy girl, but she always tries to maintain at least some degree of amusement in things, whether it’s by making a situation more interesting, or by dropping a bit of humor into the mix.
Hayakuro has had a relatively uneventful history; born to a clan of swordfighters, more samurai than ninja, she was the black sheep of the family. Haya always preferred thinking and logic over brute force and hand to hand combat. She took to the ninja arts very quickly, reading up and developing a deep interest in the skills that the ninja life provided. Her intelligence even from a young age was surprising, but her practice wasn't so great; her chakra control and her application of her knowledge was never her strong suit. So despite her family's desires to see her take up the way of the sword, she joined Kirigakure's ninja academy, ready to utilize her knowledge!
