Shikotsu Ketsuji
Age: 13| Rank: Academy Student| Gender: Male</FONTFACE>
Physical Description:
Ketsuji was a short and scrawny young boy with little to no athletic background and as such lacked any muscular definition. He had short black hair with black eyes and was a relatively average looking boy with a constant fearful expression. After being tortured by Miroku Akkuma, his appearance changed drastically. As an effect from constant torture, the constant stress manifested itself by suddenly turning his hair white. His nails were permanently blacked and in time developed a more muscular physique. His height increased as well, putting him slightly above average to boys his age. He began to favour monochrome clothing and normally wears form-fitting black bodysuits with cutouts for training and combat, though he has been known to wear more casual suits and ties. His left eye turns black with a red iris when experiencing bloodlust, this is a genetic condition as a member of his clan to strike fear into his enemies.Mental Description
Pre-Torture: Ketsuji use to be a shy and reserved person, having much difficulty in making friends. He normally spent his free time studying and reading books about heroes and legends. He was an extremely gentle individual who appeared to be optimistic most of the time, believing in the good in people. However, his lack of assertiveness and relatively docile personality normally got him bullied or taken advantage of.However, beneath his altruistic and gentle nature was an underlying fear of being alone that was kept in control in the form of his protective older sister, Shikotsu Mikasa. He despised the idea of solitude and hence tried to protect those dear to him so he would not have to face his fear of being alone in the world. This took form in being extremely overprotective and loving towards his Mikasa.
Realizing that his clan members bore the demon's eye, a condition which caused one or both eyes to turn black and red depending on their bloodlust, he figured he could use this to scare away others who would bring harm to him or his sister. He began reading martial arts books and began developing an interest in becoming stronger. As much as he treasured his life, if people close to him were threatened, he would not hesitate to put his life on the line.
Post-Torture: After being held captive and underground intense torture at the hands of Miroku Akkuma, his personality began to change drastically. Eventually the breaking point came in the form of Akkuma forcing him to cannibalize his sister Mikasa with her consent as it was either his death or hers and she gave up her life for him. The experience mentally traumatized him, causing him to trash his previous ideology of being the victim rather than causing pain and grief onto others, pledging to crush those who dare threaten his place of belonging and having no issues cannibalizing others believing it will make him stronger. He accepted the "darkness" within himself, allowing himself to spiral into the depths of madness and insatiable bloodlust. He became much more violent, embracing his madness wholeheartedly and felt that in order to survive he would have to abandon his humanity.
However, he is shown to still be capable of showing his gentle nature in front of certain people he cares for, but is quick to turn merciless against his enemies and victims. His mind seems to be fragmented with a sliver of his humanity still latching on in the darkness he seems to be consumed in. He yearns for strength and power, becoming far more arrogant and confident than he once was. He believes in devouring the week and that he has to become strong to survive in the harsh reality of the world. He seems to associate his humanity with an image of his former self, at times hallucinating him. He also hallucinates his dead sister who seems to hold sway over his insanity, attempting to lure him deeper into the depths of his madness. All in all, he holds a certain fascination with Akkuma, believing that he must become strong enough to devour his "liberator".
The Shiketsu clan, also known as the demons of Sunagakure, were a relatively small clan of shinobi who served Sunagakure proudly in the name of the One King. They are believed to be descendants or at least somehow related to the Chigokai clan due to sharing the same bloodline with blood manipulation. Their alias was a result of a specific genetic trait that formed within them, causing their eyes to turn black with red irises over time or when filled with bloodlust, similar to the Chigokai’s blood red eyes over time. They were well known for being exemplary and talented shinobi, being hailed as a promising clan on the rise to fame and fortune with deep and proud roots in Sunagakure.
In the after math of the Cabal attack, the Shiketsu’s numbers dwindled to the point of extinction, with the last two surviving members being Mikasa and her baby brother, Ketsuji. Mikasa, in an effort to not abandon her loving brother by losing her life in reckless and dangerous missions, the talented Shinobi decided to pursue a life as a Med-Nin, working close to him to take care of her young brother in the clan house located in The Levels of Sietch Zensunna. They lived quite comfortably with her skills, earning a decent living and spending much time together as they developed a strong emotional attachment with one another. As the years passed, the horrors of their clans fate escaped young Ketsuji as he was far too young to remember the attack, spending his time studying and not wasting the hard work his beloved sister did to give him a decent life.
With his timid personality, he unfortunately had much difficulty making friends. As such, his only true friend and loved one was his elder sister Misaki who he idolized and who cherished him in return, showing him much affection and love. Because of his relatively weak nature and the name of the clan he carried who were known as strong and powerful, Ketsuji was ostracized and humiliated often in school. He would be subject to torment and abuse which only intensified when he continued to fail the testing for chakra control. He was relatively weak in both body and mind, but despite that Misaki showed him nothing but love and care, cherishing her baby brother with all her heart.
In an effort to make his sister proud, Ketsuji would train often and alone in any place he could find, intent on becoming a hero like he believed his sister to be. On one particular day, a shinobi known as Miroku Akkuma happened to find the boy training desperately. Upon coming up to him, he inquired what the boy wanted, and the boy responded that he wanted to be strong and protect those he cared for! Akkuma asked the boy if he wanted true power, stating that with him he could gain such strength, the boy of course agreed, not realizing the horror of what the shinobi had in store for him.
Akkuma would follow the young boy home as he arrived before his sister, plotting the atrocities that would be taken place in time. Once the boy was in, Akkuma entered and knocked the boy unconscious, tying him down in the family room as well as blindfolding him until Mikasa arrived. Horrified at the intruder and her endangered younger brother, she attempted to fight off the shinobi but despite being hailed a genius, was beaten and battered by Akkuma mercilessly into submission. After tying up the woman as well, Akkuma would begin torturing Ketsuji, performing gruesome procedures on him that left the boy crying in agony as Mikasa watched in agony at her powerlessness to save her brother. The torture would proceed for days, Akkuma performing inhuman acts that left the boy wailing in agony only to be treated by his sister to repeat the process. Akkuma promised Mikasa he would let the boy eventually live, if she continued healing him for his personal amusement. She begrudgingly complied, hoping that she was not prolonging her brothers suffering but instead offering him a chance at life after this ordeal was over.
Eventually Ketsuji stopped his screams from the torture, becoming relatively numb to the pain as his once black hair turned snow white from the stress and trauma placed upon his mortal body. Akkuma satisfied the boy was “stronger” now in his mind, offered the boy a choice. Either his sister could live and he die, or his sister would die and he live. The little sanity in Ketsuji’s shattered mind desperately clung to his humanity, however before the boy could make a decision, Mikasa told him to take her life, that she would live within him instead. Ketsuji heartbroken attempted to deny her offer, however his sister would state that this was her last act of love for him. However, Akkuma stated that for him to live, he would have to eat his sister alive, horrifying the siblings at the shinobi’s declaration. Ketsuji fell before his sister, tears streaming down his face as she patted him on the head and said that it was okay, she would live within him, shedding tears one last time with her beloved brother. Ketsuji, against all reason cannibalized his sister, her horrifying screams the last sound he would hear from her. The act broke what little sanity the boy had left, his mind was gone.
Once the horrifying ordeal was over, Ketsuji, covered in his sisters blood stood up as he shed his last tear. His humanity was tossed, the boy was a different person altogether, his pitch black nails covered in the blood of his kin. Akkuma satisfied asked the boy if he felt stronger. Ketsuji only nodded, his mind too shattered to even hate the man, instead accepting the twisted logic of strength as he fell into the depravity of his act and the incoming madness of his mind.
Shortly after the ordeal, he boy was discovered in his home covered in blood but the investigation never took off due to him not stating what happened. It was ruled as a murder, though the depravity of the situation never taking the light of day after that night. However, it would seem the event triggered something in Ketsuji as his change also developed the ability to mold chakra, allowing him to enroll into the Academy. Ketsuji not caring much for anything just followed the lead, perhaps he could repeat the situation there and go stronger once again?
