Character's Physical Description: Masaoko is rather ambiguous in appearance and nature. Depending on her mood that day, one may say she is a beautiful woman or quite a handsome man. She stands tall and lean, with a body like a gymnast. She doesn't look so threatening, but catch her with a tank top and you'll see the well carved definition of her muscles. Her raven hair is rather long on one side, braided messily, while the other is shaven close to her scalp. Her arms are covered in sleeves of tattoos. The right bearing floral patterns, while her left is tattooed in traditional Roenesian patterns. No matter what style she chooses for the day, Masaoko is quite lax in appearance with a lazy smile and her bright golden eyes shimmering with the day's mischief.
Character's Mental Description: Where her sister is the cold steel, she is a warm summer breeze. Her spirit is quite free and she takes the action that best suits her heart. Often times, she makes reckless decisions. The kind of person who charges into danger head first, laughing. Masaoko indulges in the desires of her heart, which makes her seem irresponsible and flirtatious. But, she is quite caring and find herself as a defender of those with no means to speak or act out. She wears her heart on her sleeve, but be warned... Mess with it and she will surely knock you out.
Character History:
Masaoko is the daughter of Shima Haruka, former shinobi of Cloud, and Tsutsukakushi Natsu, former governor of Roenesia. As a baby, Haruka gave up her two daughters to one of her officers in ANBU stationed on Roenesia before she returned to the mainland. He raised the girls as his own, never speaking of their true nature. They grew up as natives of the island of Roenesia, believing their mother to have been a native Roenesian that died due to illness. At age 5, Ishikawa Kioku came to Roenesia, as a request by Haruka, to take her daughters to the mainland and give them a better life. They did not speak common language and spent months under Kioku's watch learning the common tongue of the Lightning Country people. When at last they had assimilated to Kumogakurian life, they joined the academy. Under private tutelage from Nara Kotaza, former headmistress of the academy, Masaoko and Setsuna became exceptional students and graduated at age 11 and 12 respectively. Their lineage has never been revealed to them. The sole holders of this information being Ishikawa Kioku, Kogami Ayumu, Takaki Saeko, and the shinobi who assisted her on the mission to retrieve the Memoria, agreed to keep it from the rest of the world and the girls in order to let them live the best possible lives they could. Under order, no one who knew was the breath a word of it. Only when it seemed right would they learn the truth. Masaoko took it upon herself to excel in hand-to-hand combat, something that fit her rough and tumble nature. She adopted a reckless style, as she often had no talent in measuring when to quit. It was the sort of nature that fit well with her sister, who was the calm to her boisterous style. Eventually, the sisters became Chuunin, coasting on their average shinobi career. It wasn't the life Masaoko wanted however. Her father, long ago, told her to change her stars... But how, exactly?
