The moonlight spilled silently through the tattered curtains of a small one bedroom apartment, buried deep in the crowded and ruined city. The poorer part of the neighborhood, where the darkest creatures slither through the cracks of it's broken veins. The moonlight, pale and glimmering, cast it's grotesque light across the mud brown carpet, and onto the faded sheets of a small worn out bed. From there it crawled up the long and slender legs that laid upon it, strewn about in the sheets, and tangled in it's ugly tan color. Long black locks, tangled and waved about, were spotlighted by the moon's powerful reflection as well, matted across the sheets as the young woman laid in a shallow sleep. Her body stayed still, almost unnaturally, for a moment, before her legs would begin to rub against each other as her not-so-peaceful slumber began to come to an end. Slowly, but surely, her mind would stir, before she would shoot awake, sitting up quickly in the smoke filled room. A burned out cigarette in an ashtray on the nightstand, the smoke still lingering in the stale air.
Bright cyan blue eyes would glow in the light, irritated by the smoke and sudden splash of pale moonlight. The raven haired woman taking in a deep inhale, her lips dry and her eyes watery, before swinging her legs over the edge of the bed, and running her toes against the brown carpet. Flexing her pale fingers against the mattress before pushing herself into a standing position, rubbing her eyes deeply and giving a long well-needed stretch through her body. It was not unusual for Ijimeru Kitanai to wake in the middle of the night, just as the children had reached the final depths of deep sleep, and the monsters came out to play--after all, she was a monster too.
Walking from the bedroom to the kitchen in a pair of underwear and a tank top, the slender woman stood in her small apartment in a towering height, having to lean down to the sink to pour herself a glass of water. One too many times had she smacked her head on the cabinet above the sink. Throwing back the glass, and taking heavy gulps, her dry lips thanked her for the hydration, and body let out a satisfied sigh. She had slept the day away, and now the night would begin. The black cat moved through her smokey apartment, slipping on an outfit for the night before quickly stepping outside the door, and moving quickly through the moldly hallways of the complex, and bursting out into the fresh air of the night.

The air was cold. It was like a quick slap to the face, and left her with bumps on her arms, and chills down her spine. The street was barely lite, and when she emerged from the complex, the shadows shuttered and moved, as the creatures of the night hid from sight. Kita took in another deep breath of fresh air, enjoying it, before deciding to tamper with it's beauty. Pulling a cigarette from her pocket, and lighting it up, she took in a deep drag, and blew out the smoke, before sticking it between her lips again, and shoving her hands in her pockets, heading towards the entertainment district.
She wasn't looking for trouble. But she also wasn't looking to do a good deed either. Maybe a drink, a bit of gambling--maybe make some money tonight. She was in the mood for a good time, but truth be told, her lifestyle made life a little lonely. She didn't trust anyone, and no one trusted her--and it made it a little difficult to do anything with anyone else. No one wanted to go out for a drink with her, or play a playful game of cards... they either wanted to earn back the money that they lost to her, or pay up some of their money to spend the night with her. Others begged to pawn off a smoke, and some were simply afraid of the 6 foot tall black cat. She didn't take bullshit lightly, and tonight was no different.
