Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Kamaru was halfway popping a sweet into his mouth when the knock came at his door followed by two men entered, people would probably be a better description since with the robes and the masks on it was kind of up in the air. Kamaru quickly chewed and swallowed the treat, the only good thing he found after his last missions, a candy made of honey and sesame seeds pounded flat in small tabs. Washing it down with a bit of coffee he cleared his throat and said sarcastically, ”Oh now please come in. What can I do for you ge… er… Well what can I do for you two.”

The two regarded him and looked at each other before one produced a folder sliding it onto Kamaru desk as the other spoke. ”A person of interest you recently took into custody has been spotted in several locations. Shigemitsu Tsuya”

Kamaru looked at the images, one was a photo of her in a prison cell, another a picture of her in a hospital bed, another was a picture of her looking confused or out of it, another in skimpy clothes with bruises on her face, the last one looked like a cadaver of the girl.

”So… she’s dead?” Kamaru said with a sigh. It was concerning she had escaped, which Kamaru asked how it was possible plus how did she get into so much trouble once out to the point she got herself killed. Kamaru opted to take baby steps to find out.

”The one you took into custody is still in confinement, these are all photos from yesterday at about the same time.” the man stated shorting out Kamaru’s reasoning fully.

Kamaru covered his eyes and rubbed trying to figure out what to say to that. How can someone be in six places at once, correction, how can someone with no chakra be in six places at once. Was it magic? Supernatural?

”We have reason to believe the person is using ‘extras’.” he stated causing Kamaru’s face to flush slightly.

”Besides the one in confinement we have five cases of someone trying to figure out how to smuggle someone out of the Village proper. One asked one of your undercover policemen. Another ended up asking the wrong crowd and ended up beaten almost to death, another ended up asking drug dealers and ended up in a den found during a raid, another ended up being forced into prostitution, the last one we found floating in from sea…” he explained. Kamaru looked at the final one who wasn’t as lucky as the rest in the photo and stared.
”If she’s this inept at getting herself out I say you let her figure a way out of the village.” Kamaru finally stated staring the two down, ”With some minor tweaks.” Kamaru added as he leaned back and sighed.

Once the four of the girls were next to each other it was more apparent they weren’t the same person, some were slightly taller or shorter, and the hair color was slightly different. They were all quite though when someone came in to talk to them. Solidarity.

”You’re free to go.” the man said.

They all looked at each other and then the man in confusion.

”Most of you were trying to find a way out of town illegally but failed miserably at it. Since one of you almost actually did make it out of town we have reason to believe she’s the real version of your group portraying her. One of you are in the hospital, once she’s discharged she will be free to go as well. We can’t really charge you for anything since in most cases you were the victim of your own naivety and foolishness.” the man continued.

After several looks and unspoken conversations one finally spoke up, ”W-w-w-what do you mean almost?”

”Oh she was told they’d ship her out but they poisoned her. Since we can’t figure out how to counteract the poison someone figured out how to encase her in a crystal to stop the poison flow until we figure something out, it doesn’t fully stop it though so if we don’t figure it out she will eventually die but rest assured it moved the timeline out to a few months versus hours once she cured and conscious we can start the interrogation… Have a good day.” he explained before bidding them goodbye.
The room was pretty somber for a group of people having been realized from custody. They left bearing a heavy weight on their shoulders.

The groups’ shadow stayed a distance away and like Kamaru had predicted they eventually came to an abandoned warehouse. Having two officers talking about the girl in the crystal and how it was a shame to end up like that and were she was seemed well placed. They knew where they were going even if the shadow hadn’t found this location; he didn’t expect to see almost twenty girls looking the same. Wails from inside suddenly intensifying didn’t hinder him any. It was simply the sound of one person taken by grief before it swept over the group.

Several figures ran into the area hiding behind various small areas when they found a place and shuffled in suit slowly descending in a mass to one area. They looked around seeing no one they encircled the elongated blue crystal. The girl inside looked shocked as if in terror hands outstretched although her eyes were closed it looked like by the facial expression she was in pain, a large bandaged wrapped his midsection something stained black marred the pristine white gauss on her wound. Sounds of soft crying and sniffling started to escape the intruders. They were shocked when the eyes of the girl in the crystal flicked open and the crystal shattered.

The girl exploded and Kamaru looked at the group staring at the girl blubbering the most with snot bubbles coming out both nostrils.

”You… are a hard young lady to find. I have questions, you have answers.” Kamaru stated.
* * *

As the young lady looked around she suddenly ran to the ship to get on as something came down causing her to stop and fall over backwards clambering away. A massive blob of black sludge writhed where she should have been. The young lady adjusted glasses and looked at the pale boy sitting on the docks with a sketch pad.

”Just tell us the location Shigemitsu. Or we’ll kill you just like we’ll do to each and every one of those in your ‘fan club’” he stated in a mocking tone.

The girl began to cry slightly which turned into laughing. Thinking the girl had gone off it threw him a bit when he heard a man’s voice.

”She already told someone and they’re a helluva a lot scarier than you.” Kamaru explained as the young girl explained showing a grown man casually sitting on the pier looking at the boy.

The initial trade off of attacks and defenses with the boy made Kamaru wonder how much stronger this boy was than he was at that age but size and appearances could be misleading.
Given his last encounter he was playing things at a distance for when the surprised came. The kid seemed either lucky or good at avoidance either that or Kamaru’s overly cautious attacks were easier to telegraph.

As the sudden pounding of a deep indigo shaded creature barreled down at Kamaru he figured this was the surprise. Kamaru heard it in his head but thought little over it as the beast swayed coming forward.

We are the dream eaters and the nightmares of old, he frolic in the night till dawn and bask in the sorrows. You are our feast, our flesh, our final.

Kamaru had already taken up a stance before performing hand seals, his jacket elongated the collar getting taller before it took on the shape of more an overcoat or trench coat. Smoke and embers billowed out as magma formed on the cloak Kamaru’s fist catching fire as well. As the speech went on in his head he met the beast from its side sending in a barrage of melee attacks suddenly.

The creature wailed as its skin hissed and popped as it was seared from the attack. As Kamaru erected another version of himself made of Earth he smiled as the creature dived to bite down on him the Clone putting up a guard to block. Kamaru’s hand tapped the clone’s arm as it hardened into earth black lines scrolling over the surface. As the creature ripped the arm off with it powerful maw metal shrapnel exploded in the beast’s mouth followed by a pillar of flame causing it to flop over.

”What… dream eaters don’t like spicey food.” Kamaru jeered as he descended on the boy from the shadows dragging his surprised form down and into the waters.

[Flashback]
”YOU KILLED HER!!!!” she screamed in a shrill voice banging on Kamaru’s chest, eventually she fell to the ground grabbing onto his leg trying to make sense of it all.

Having shown her the picture of the real girl they didn’t know about had a very high shock value, but not in the way Kamaru had hoped.

”The body was recovered, some of the internal organs were missing and it’s believed they were removed. She seemed to be a local girl so either a foreigner did it for some odd reason or if they knew the local traditions… they were hoping that she couldn’t even rest in peace. This might be related to why you need to leave town so badly.” Kamaru admitted.

”I had to get out… no matter what… but I didn’t think… this…” she stammered still holding onto his leg.

”You mean to tell me you’re worried about something more important than whatever unsavory group you were working for finding out you abandoning their job and possibly killing you? Plus this?” Kamaru asked looking at the petite woman.

”If they stole what I think they stole from the safehouse people from that group killing me is the least of my worries… there are a few things worse than getting yourself killed…” she admitted seeming to loose herself in thought and self-reflection.

”Fine… I’ll tell you everything but you better find this bastard and drag him down to hell. In exchange I’ll tell you everything… but keep the rest of them safe” she finally said with tears of fury and anger in her eyes as she looked at the rest of her minions.
