This was Kaori's first time here to the Hotsprings. She let out a sigh as she dipped into the water with only a towel wrapped around her body. She closed her eyes and let the warm water seep into her skin, feeling a therapeutic feeling breeze over her. Normally when she took baths in the past, it was for practice for a ritual. Now that all of the rituals and ceremonies were a thing of the past, she had a little bit more freedom to travel and do things on her own without the threat of being fed to a fictitious dragon god (who ended up being a demon disguised as a dragon). Unlike before, however, she also didn't have anything covering her horns. It was something that she learned to accept of herself and something she started to become proud of instead of conscious of. If people called her a monster or a demon, that's on them for being ignorant fools. Everyone else are just jealous.
She leaned back, moving her elbows up to the floor of the hotsprings, swinging her hands (which are covered with the Gloves of Divine Dragon Flame) splashing in the water a little bit. The feeling of the hot water was soothing and comforting. The only thing this bath was really missing were scented oils; lavender-scented of course. She closed her eyes and started to drift off for a moment before stirring herself awake. She looked up into the sky and a look of disappointment still written on her face every time she looked up. Now that she was free to move around the village, away from the walls of the Shrine, she still felt like a caged bird inside of this village. She was in the middle of an exam only to get ripped out of it for unforeseen reasons and now she just waits for Shiori to exceed her in strength. She still plans on handing him his ass the next time the two of them decide to fight.
Memories of Yume started to flood through her head before moving her elbows back into the water and she slouched, dipping her head into the water. After a moment,
she resurfaced, running her hands through her dark purple and pink hair. It would have been nice to have come here with someone who treated her like a human. Yomi would be a pretty close second, but nobody could have replaced the love and kindness she felt from Yume. She shook her head and shrugged off those thoughts before moving her hands up to her hair and wrapped it up into a bun, tying it into itself. As liberating as it was to be able to move around now, she had been quite bored lately.
As the village became larger and larger the more she was able to explore it, she felt that people were starting to ignore her and even outright avoid her.
Kaori let out a sigh. Even if that was the case, that people are intentionally avoiding her, it wouldn't matter to her. She spent many years living by herself before this,
so even if she had to remain by herself for the remainder of her time as a shinobi, then so be it. Either that, or she would have to find a group that would accept her for who she was and not what other people say she was. It doesn't matter at this point. She continued to soak in the hotspring, placing her elbows up level with her shoulders and stared up at the night sky, watching the stars twinkle. "Sky still looks small from down here."
