Izura reappeared in front of Amaya, having watched the battle unfold from afar. He glared at Amaya before taking his sister into his arms and hugging her tightly. Almost immediately he’d begin to ease her wounds with healing chakra. Izura wasn’t a medical ninja, but he was definitely adept enough to know basic medical ninjutsu skills. Enough to ease her pain and keep her alive…
“You say you fought her so that she could keep her pride as a kunoichi…but you talk as if the life of a ninja is something to be desired. The life of a ninja isn’t something I wished for her…I only wanted to teach her to be able to protect herself. I never wanted her to go down this path of violence…and I can see now that my existence here led you two to this outcome…”
He was shaking without realizing it. His hatred for Amaya was higher now, as the only reason he hadn’t involved himself in the fight was out of respect for Ayame and her desire to prove to him that she was more than capable of defending herself. She was right- she was capable of defending herself well enough that she was able to briefly best one of the greatest kunoichi of this generation. But it still wasn’t enough- without Izura there to protect her, there were even greater menaces out there that were more than capable of defeating her.
He was still conflicted, but he couldn’t just have her hide behind him all the time either.
And so he teleported away, Ayame in his arms. She’d wake up later, with a letter that explained to her that he’d left to scout in Konoha for a few days, and that he’d promptly return with the fortune he had mentioned earlier. The one about the caches of wealth hidden there…
