Name: Sora
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Rank: Genin
Physical Description: With a tiny build and generally pale features, Sora is a growing young woman who's seen with the same dull expression on her face. Despite the iconic meaning behind her name of 'sky', the only thing that seems to be bright and vibrant about her features are her pair of ocean blue eyes encased by the waves of long strands that are her eyelashes. If one took a close look at her eyes for long enough, it could be sworn that they'd catch the faintest hues of pink mixed in within the bright tides of blues.
She has very long, pale blonde hair that stretches down all the way to the back of her feet, and keeps only the shortest sections cupping her face in even braids. There is also two bangs that stretch down the center of Sora's face from the right side, the longest strand meeting her chin.
Her skin gives off the appearance of being smooth yet her hands are noticeably very dry, sometimes cuts and red spots appearing on them periodically.
Her height is 5' 2" with a weight of 95 lbs., although she wouldn't ever vocally admit she struggles to keep that weight from going any lower.
On days where she's usually not busy with training or assignments among other duties of importance, Sora can be seen wearing one of two choices of casual clothing: One being a long sleeved black shirt with white stripes along the sides, a black choker with a metallic symbol in the very front, a sleeveless garment over her torso with a soft pink skirt, and leggings that are of varying lengths (the left being below her kneecap and the right stretching to her mid-thigh) combined with white boots of pink tinted outlines in the very front to top it all off.
The second being a simple green, turtleneck sweater with a long black skirt that meets her ankles, and flats that are pure white. It was with this casual choice of clothing that she can also sometimes be seen wearing red rimmed glasses, albeit she rarely wears them.
Sora doesn't like to wear jewelry other than necklaces as she finds other accessories such as earrings or bracelets to be nothing but a hassle. It is only on very rare occasions as well that Sora will tend to do something with her hair, but she usually does so only if asked to for a special event (like parties or missions).
Personality: Sora is a rather quiet and yet humorous person all melded into one being. The way her mind works is something she considers to be rather peculiar and yet imaginative, considering herself to be a very awkward person because of how most of her social interactions go: Awkwardly, humorously, or sarcastically. Sora tends to daydream a lot and keeps to herself, getting lost in the depths of her own mind and world that she considers something to be a sort of safe haven... or prison. It's where she goes to mull over her own thoughts and emotions, usually keeping them to herself until it all flows out in a distressed tidal wave of tears.
She's one who is not used to social interactions or gatherings of any sort and does tend to value her alone time. If there are too many people in one place it tends to throw off the young woman's sense of stability, and makes it hard for her to focus with all the unfamiliar faces around her that hold infinite possibilities. Henceforth, Sora works best with small groups of people and much prefers to stay in the shadows of the world rather than in the light of what it has to offer. It is there she can simply observe the situation and assess it, willing to offer herself insight when she can in a much more calmer environment on how to handle such environments better.
When being confronted with her own emotions or thoughts by others, Sora doesn't tend to go for a logical and blunt answer. Instead, one can find she'll give a rather humorous and sarcastic answer depending on the situation. She would chose to deflect the question in that matter, diverting attention to something else if possible. However, if given enough time and care, Sora would eventually let down the mental walls she has built around herself and reveal who she ultimately is without the constant front she puts up.
And that is just a woman who's tired and used to being alone in the world, having given up in many matters of things. One would truly get an inside view of how Sora truly behaves whenever she's on her own, repeating the same tasks without a difference in her behavioural patterns. She would openly put herself down and degrade her own self worth, struggling to see the positivity or reason why she exists in the world other than to fight and serve. It is in this light that one can see she struggles to see why she's standing in the same spot somone else once stood, any positivity kindly given to her met with a sad reply of denial; even grief depending on the situation.
There are rare occasions, however... Where maybe - just maybe - one can get her to smile, and lift the weights that are chained around her heart. Where she can feel like she can fly and feel confident in herself, and not have to lose herself in the thoughts that ate away at her subconcious.
Where she's free.
History: From day one of her entry into the academy, Sora barely recalls any slivers of her life beforehand other than memories shrouded in fog. Whenever she would have asked any question of her origin, all that was answered for her was that she was there, present, living, and needed to keep it that way. And it was so the child fought and endured while having been given the name 'Sora'. She didn't remember if that was her real name among her past but there wasn't time to lose oneself in their own thoughts. The child mysteriously relinquished into the academy of Kumogakure quickly learnt of the dangers posed if one failed, for she witnessed such a student's consequences first hand.
Death.
From inhaling mutagenic compounds, alchemic processes, augmentation... Sora changed drastically over her time in the academy, losing any and all innocence she bore proudly in the beginning. She learned with each dreadful day that the world is a cruel and dangerous place, lies and tricks existing even behind the most friendliest of faces. There wasn't anyone lower than you be it the enemy daring to impale you or those beside you willing to protect you. Everyone was equal in one way or another, all the way to any bitter end. All would suffer the same fate in different times and not one single soul could change that. Whether you lived or died depended on your resolve, your strength, your mental fortitude and will. With all of the physical trauma and mental breakdowns, Sora decided in her young age to keep all of her struggles and emotions to herself. She would march on alone in the academy and would keep herself standing alone, knowing that she couldn't fail even if she tried.
No matter how many times she wanted to try.
It was in those years in what seemed like forever she graduated from Kumogakure academy, not in the top of her class or the lowest. She was in the middle and wasn't known for anything other than to herself for surviving, and she kept it that way. Upon graduation, Sora learned steadily to care for herself and her own well-being. She never prodded for help and never showed signs of needing any, instead just keeping herself alive with what she knew she could handle. And as time passed on, she grew and learned the traits and tricks of the world on her own.
She watched society from afar and assessed people, running through her own diagnostics and synopsis of how they worked. And it was as time progressed that Sora became independent and accustomed to loneliness, fooling herself into cherishing such a gift in her life. But in reality... she was suffering mentally and emotionally. It was in her late years as a teenager that the shinobi began to experience rather damaging thoughts about herself.
Why was she here?
What was her purpose?
What would happen if she disappeared?
How worthless.
It was only the beginning of many thoughts that stretched on into the present, greeting her every morning, noon, and night in the same sickeningly monotonous manner it always has. For what feels like an eternity, the young woman has dealt with the same manner of determined truths swirling around in her mind. And yet she keeps it all bottled in, knowing full well the effects it would have each and every time she did in its damaging end. Sora didn't trust anyone and she had no one to turn to for help, advice, anything. There were days where if she wasn't kept busy and away from her breaking point, she wept. If there were times where she didn't weep, she would simply never move from her bed in her dimly lit home.
Sora would keep to this pattern to this present day... and unless someone dared to change her mind, she would follow this lifestyle until the day she dies.
