Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

A figure jumped from branch to branch, disturbing only the leaves on each one as they moved. What seemed like an endless maze of trees was all they saw for quite some time, before a clearing came into view. Quickly, the branches became buildings as they re-entered the village from the forest. This figure was Kyodo Tesaki, who was holding an injured academy student from her class. "Welp, glad you think so." She replied to Shi's earlier comment about her being a nice person. The two were nearing the Aesculapium now, the large building and its gates coming into view over the sea of rooftops before them. "Almost there now, hope you're not bleeding too much." Tesa said sarcastically, she knew she had at least closed the wound before she left the forest, but it was only a temporary fix so they could get to the hospital without an empty student. And with all of that movement, it seemed pretty likely that the wounds would've re-opened.

Immediately after landing in front of the hospital, Tesa burst through the door and approached the front desk. "This academy student was just impaled by two large swords, I can explain how later but for now she needs medical attention." It was likely obvious what had happened if someone simply looked at the young girl.. Her shirt was ripped, and there were two large stab wounds on her upper chest and back. There was likely still fresh blood from when the wound was still bleeding, and both women were covered with it.
OOC: I'm fairly sure some others from the class will be joining in at some point as well, but yeah, a med-nin would be appreciated for this one.

The journey through the foliage seemed to be over in the blink of an eye and now they were back among civilization. Shinku subtly tried to turn and hide her face against the teachers body, embarrassed to be recognized as the went from rooftop to rooftop. They were probably moving far to fast for anyone who would know her to notice but it didn't help settle her uneasy mind regardless. At the query about her condition she took a moment to focus but other than the numbness around her shoulders and the already blood soaked clothes made it impossible to really tell if she was bleeding again or not. "I don't think it's bad, but I can't really tell..." She answered calmly as they just reached the doors of the hospital, this would be her second time visiting the building though the first time she was forced to go and apologize to a patient she'd sent their days before, she didn't like the hospital one bit.

She remained silent as Tesaki reported the incident to whomever happened to working the front desk, she really wasn't paying attention at this point as something else had caught her focus. Her body which had barely moved since the woman had grabbed it started to move, resist being held as Shinku tried to rock herself free of the grasp with determination evident in her eyes. Fortunately and thanks to the severity of her wounds Tesa hadn't been holding on to tightly and probably hadn't expected resistance at this point and the girl would fall from her arms and with a lucky spin in midair she would land on a knee and plant both her hands to the ground. The pain that suddenly shot through her wounds was enough to keep her grounded for a few moments, then her head snapped up and bore her blood red gaze toward a person across the room, coming from deeper in the hospital.

The person, a boy around the same age as the girl had already noticed her and seemed to be frozen on his feet, his body, especially the face was covered in bandages, only one of his eyes free to see what was before him. Shinku who was clearly struggling managed to shakily bring herself up tho her feet though a little wobbly, her eyes never moving from his during it all.

"You have been judged. Your sentence stands, you were sloppy. You won't fail again."
"You have been judged. Your sentence stands, I was sloppy. I won't fail again."

Her brow furrowed in anger and the boy started taking steps back into the corridor he'd emerged from as if death himself had arrived in front of him. The girl very slowly took her defensive fighting stance as she tried her hardest to focus through the pain and blood loss wracking her body and mind but her body would not move no matter how hard she pushed. Blood was starting to flow more freely as the movements had started to open up again but she was dead-set on this stranger who was slowly starting to flee the scene, horror written in his face.

"This academy student was just impaled by two large swords, I can explain how later but for now she needs medical attention."

Hearing the burst through the front doors and the outburst, Kireina eyes focused in on the two females. Observing the two, one girl obviously had demonic blood flowing through her veins based on her horns. Carried in her hands, a bloody young girl. Her clothes were ripped and she seemed weak and fragile. Despite her appearance, she still managed to move out of the demon girls arms.

As the receptionist stood, she immediately searched for the nearest medic. This was an emergency and needed to be taken cared of before the young girl lost her life. "I'll take care of this. Prep the room. GO!" Kireina said grabbing the nearest stretcher. Her heels clicked and clacked as she rushed to the shaking girl. She was attempting to stand and was beginning to spew out blood like a running faucet.

Kireina didn’t know what the girl had going on and it didn’t matter. It was obvious that this girls hard head and determination would get her killed. Rolling over the stretcher as she entered a wobbly stance, chakra surged through Kireina's right hand. She didn’t allow it to be visible nor sensed and would place it on the girls shoulder.

tumblr_nstbtegI7A1sxfvy5o2_500.gif

Sending a strong pulse of chakra through the girls nervous system, no pain would be felt as she would be knocked unconscious. "It's time to take it easy now. Kireina would say catching the girl as she would fall. Placing her on the stretcher, more medics would come out. As the wheels began to roll, Kireina immediately began examining the wounds. Checking the girls vitals, she was in for a load of bed rest, but Kireina doubted she was the laying down type. Rolling her towards the back, the real work was about to begin.

Meanwhile, there was questions that needed to be asked and files that had to be pulled up on the patient. The twins busted through the front doors with the site of blood on the lobby floor and Shinku being rolled away. Attempting to rush to the back, Yutaro was stopped by the receptionist.

"I'm sorry young Tsuyoshi, this isn't something you can help with right now."

--|Medical Work|--

With the lights on the young girl in the prepped room, Kireina was at work. Keeping gentle pressure on the wounds to minimize bleeding, Kireina already had blood on the way according to the girls blood type. Beginning the cleaning of the wounds, Kireina rinsed the wounds with clean water. Dirt was easily visible in the wound after washing and needed to be taken care of. Just like most Trauma incidents, the sight of blood was common, the stomach of the medic had to be strong, and steady hands were needed. Using tweezers cleaned with alcohol, Kireina carefully began the removal process of the dirt particles.

Afterwards, Kireina began applying the ointment needed along with medical ninjutsu to minimize the scars that would surely be left behind. Covering the wounds with bandages, Kireina gave precise medical instructions on what pills Shinku would need prescribed. They would be simple pain killers for the young girls pain. She was lucky, nothing had been damaged internally. As long as she rested, she'd be just fine.

--|Bed Rest|--

Waking up, Shinku would find herself in a medical bed. She had already received the blood needed and was carefully bandaged. If she moved, shed surely feel pain. In addition, she'd hear mumbling outside which was obviously about her. "Well I must say, she's strong. Luckily, no vital areas were hit. We are shinobi, but we still feel pain. So, please be careful you guys. She needs lots of rest and she has pills for her pain. So, she needs to take it easy for a while. You guys can go in and see her if you like." Kireina would say before opening the room door.

Tesa was not only glad that a doctor had stepped forward so quickly, but also the fact that they stopped Shinku from doing something stupid after wriggling from her arms. And whoever that kid was she was threatening was probably pretty happy too... Once the med-nin took her back into the hospital, it was time to explain the whole situation..

"Guess that's taken care of... Let's get started?" She would say, it would probably be quite the awkward conversation.

After a couple of hours waiting with the Tsuyoshi twins, the same doctor that had taken Shinku into the room came out and explained the situation. "I'm just glad she isn't going to die or anything, I've already caused the death of enough comrades in my lifetime..." The demon woman paused for a moment to remember that story, in case it would need to be told, before she would nod and smile to the doctor and walk in. As she entered the room, Tesa wore a disappointed look on her face. "You know you're supposed to avoid weapons like that right? Not walk into them." The woman would let that sit for a moment as she took a seat and crossed her legs.

She would wait for whatever explanation Shinku might have before continuing, even if it took sitting in silence for a good long while just to get it. Had to be something good after going to such an extreme just to.. Prove herself maybe? There was no telling what the hell was going through her head at the time.

Takeo had sprinted from the forest towards the hospital, but it was no use; he couldn’t keep up with that demon of a sensei. Hell, even the Tsuyoshi twins flew past him at one point. How were they able to move so quickly after burning all that chakra at the forest like that?

By the time Takeo finally made it to the hospital, Shinku was gone. Tesaki and the twins sat in the waiting room. Takeo joined them, and waited silently as the hours ticked away. At one point a nurse, seeing his burnt-up clothes, came up and tried to treat him for his injuries. Takeo waived her off, his slight wounds having healed during the run over.

The doctor finally came back and announced that Shinku was going to be fine. Tesaki and the twins entered the room and Takeo followed, staying near the door while their sensei took a seat and bantered at the girl.

Takeo’s eyes glanced around the room, the whole time never settling for more than a fleeting moment on the girl in the bed. Tubes and wires went from IV bags and machines respectively into the girls arms, her heartbeat making small beeping noises on the EKG. He was sure there were copious bandages wrapped around her torso too, though he couldn’t tell what with all the blankets.

Takeo had always hated hospitals. Something about the stench of disinfectant and dead or dying flesh combined with the knowledge that everyone here was in some sort of pain. No one ever said “Hey, I’m feeling great! I should go to the hospital!” No, this was where sick people, broken people and dying people came to try and stave off death, if only for a little while longer. Inevitably, they would fail. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but eventually everyone dies. He could never work in a place like this, knowing he was fighting a battle he could never possibly win against an undefeatable enemy.

What’s worse, here he was in a hospital room with some girl he’d only met this morning. She was nearly a complete stranger to him, so why was he here? A nagging feeling in the back of his mind said it was the right thing to do, going to the hospital to check on a fallen comrade. Even if she was the one who caused the injuries. All he could muster up the courage to say, and it was a quiet and unsure statement at that, was, ”Are… are you okay?”

The feeling of anger, pride and personal justice fell from her body instantly as she was sent into an unconscious state. Her last thought was to remember that this was now the second time she had failed to deliver her judgment upon a criminal. ["How many times must I fail before I am strong enough..." she thought as the darkness consumed her and she fell into a forced slumber.

As she slept, she found herself stood within a pitch black area, touching the ground revealed it to be stone of some sort, rough and uneven. She took a few small, cautious steps as she struggled to adjust her eyes to the dark but it was an impossible task as there was literally no light, no sound and no feeling, just empty stillness surrounded her. As she continued gingerly forwards a deep voice would boom through the area, echoing loudly leading her to believe that this place was simply large and open. "Young princess, we finally meet." It spoke. "This means you have finally awoken that which had laid dormant within you for generations." She tried to find a direction from which the voice was coming but failed to do so as it felt as though it was coming from everywhere. "Who... what even are you?" She asked as her head whipped around trying to pick up clues, the male voice chuckled. "Who I am is of no consequence right now, what I am however means a great deal. It has been seven generations since I have felt the call to action, you are the first to unlock the powers deep within you, though they are still unpolished, in time they will strengthen." With that said a pale green light would burst in front of her, then another just ahead, then another and so on clearly creating a path for her to follow. "What is it I have awoken, why do you call me princess?" She asked, only to be met with silence once more as the pale green orbs continued to light a path, she would start to follow it, continuing to watch her footing.

It felt like hours as she walked through the darkness to each of the lights until she spotted ahead of her a bunch of the orbs all surrounding some sort of pyramid like structure. The light led her to climb the structure and at the top there was a large, stone throne that looked unimpressive but seemed to emanate with something she didn't quite understand. "Your throne, princess. Take your rightful place among your people and rebirth our blood rights to the world of the living!" It was clear that the voice was coming from behind the throne at this point and though she still had questions this whole thing had her pretty curious. She took a seat on the throne and the feeling she'd previously felt from it vanished, instead it was now within her. Her heart began beating harder, faster and her body became paralyzed, it was now that a figure emerged from behind the throne.

A man, seemingly as big as a house came round to face her, he was very old, weathered and his skin seemed sickly under the faint green glow. He took to a knee and bowed his head to her, still towering above her as he did so. "For centuries the royal bloodline of our clan has lay dormant, waiting for what it believed a worthy successor. You were deemed worthy to bring back our nearly dead race and whilst there are those of the blood, they are but peasants compared to you. You are the elite, born from blood of the old leaders." The figure stood tall once again as the feeling of paralysis faded from the girls body and she sank back into the seat, suddenly exhausted, her eyes gazed up and down the towering old man curiously. "What must I do? If I accept that I am what you claim I am, what is it that I need do to bring this clan?" She asked through audible breaths, the man chuckled once again. "You need only grow, young princess. Continue on the path already laid out before you and in time it will become clear. The secrets of our clan live within you and shall show themselves when your body and mind are ready." As he spoke he reached out a hand and placed it upon the girls head with a somewhat bitter-sweet smile. "We've waited to long, it's now our time to rise."

With that a second surge of the strange energy shot through her body and the pains of the real world began to come back to her consciousness. The final words she would hear as she drifted back to the living world were. "It's time for the Kyoujouran to rise once again." and with that her vision darkened once more before a whiteness invaded her vision, she could hear voices that she recognized but whatever just happened to her was clearly no dream. Her eyes struggled against the invading light, it was clear she'd been out for some time and she raised her hands toward her face to rub at and shield her eyes whilst they adjusted to the sterile white room she now found herself in, what was surprising however was the lack of pain as she moved her arms, sure it hurt they were still fresh wounds healed up or not but it was as if her body simply refused to acknowledge it all. As her palms cradled her face the room filled with visitors, the first of whom was Tesa who began to scold her immediately which she expected anyway and she slowly moved her hands away from her face before answering her. Once again Tesa would notice a change in the girls eyes, what was once gray was now completely deep crimson as they had become in the woods, but the whites of her eyes weren't white anymore and it was likely that Shinku didn't know this either but they had turned jet black. "I have my pride, sensei. Unless it is absolute victory or absolute defeat, I cannot and will not accept the result. I don't for a moment regret my decision." She said with her usual monotone voice, showing little emotion as she glanced around the room at those who had come. She would give the twins a nod of acknowledgment and then one to Takeo whilst adding. "I am fine, if a little exhausted and... confused." It was a strange feeling indeed, she'd always believed she would be alone forever, she wanted to be alone forever but these people, whatever their motives may be were here, checking in on her, worried perhaps? concerned? Whatever it was it made her feel some semblance of happiness, a feeling she'd long locked away.

She was fine? Takeo was a little put off by her flippant dismissal of her very serious injuries. Maybe it was the painkillers talking, or perhaps some disillusioned bravado. Either way, she seemed to be taking her near-death experience in stride. He felt a little relieved, but his uneasiness wasn’t in for a long reprieve. When she turned to address him, he got a good look at her eyes. That wasn’t natural… Takeo had never heard of the whites of someone’s eyes turning black before, or the irises red. Maybe it was some sort of condition involving chakra? He had no clue.

”Um, don’t freak out,” he said in what he hoped was a reassuring tone. Then again, when did someone uttering those words ever put someone at ease? ”But, your eyes are… different.” Takeo looked around the room for any object that had a reflective surface, settling on the stainless steel lid to a jar of tongue depressors. He handed the round, flat lid to Shinku so she could take a gander at the anomaly herself. After her reaction, Takeo would address the other elephant in the room.

”I understand your… “resolve” would be the right word, I guess. But, if you were so determined from the outset, then what has you so confused? Do you think it has something to do with your eyes?”

[OOC: Sorry for jumping out of order, but it’s been a minute since anyone posted, so… *shrug.]

Hearing of Shinku's condition, Yutaro was glad to hear that no vital points were hit. Despite the good news, his face was one of frustration. He was helpless and wasn't even allowed to help. He was castes to the sidelines due to his lack of skill. Perhaps if he would've studied harder or trained with his father before he left, he could've healed Shinku at the scene of the incident.

Placing a hand on Yutaros shoulder, Rintaro held a small smirk. Looking back and seeing his brothers dorky smirk, Yu relaxed his clenched fists and gave a nod. Removing his hand, Rintaro could only wonder why he didn't decide to run for it while he had the chance. After all, class was over and he had freedom to do whatever he felt like. Perhaps, it was because of Yutaro because in the end, this girl wasn't family. She wasn't even a friend. Yet, he was here "checking" on her with the others. Hopefully she didn't want sympathy, that was just something the Tsuyoshi family didn't show. Her ass should've dodged.

Speaking of which, that was practically the teachers words as she began scolding. Oddly though, the twins were fixated on Shinku's eyes rather than the conversations at hand. More than likely, this had already been taken note of along with a blood sample and shipped to the kinjutsu surgery division.
"It's good to know you're okay. I'm around the hospital a lot, so I'm more than willing to assist you during your stay." Yutaro said with a nod. His eyes were still fixated on hers, curious to what her response would be to Takeo. Meanwhile, Rintaro gave a nod before slithering his way out. After analyzing the girl, Rin knew she wouldn't want too much attention. She had her pride after all. Hell, it's what got her in this place. So, he'd leave the room and head off to his fathers office. There, he could catch up on sleep and be the lazy individual he was deep down inside.

Hearing Shinku's half assed excuse as to why she WALKED INTO A SWORD, only pissed Tesa off to the point that she was damn close to stabbing the girl again, but this time on purpose! She would have to get the hell out of the hospital before she went on some kind of rampage, so that's exactly what she did. The woman stood from her seat and looked at Shinku once more, "Look, I don't give a damn what you think is honorable or not. There's gonna be plenty of damn people in this world that will ruin your dream of dying in a 'glorious fight to the death. For all you know, someone might stab you in the back, poison your food and drink, or hurt those close to you just because of your status. Your goal as a shinobi is not only to do as you're told, but to come home alive. Just remember that." Tesa would take a moment to look around the room, "All of you." And with that, she would turn and exit the room.

"Haven't seen you get that serious with a group of kids since the little kiddies back home tried to kill each other."

"Yeah shut up..." Tesa and Masu wouldn't speak again until they were far from the hospital.

Different? What could he possibly mean. Her eyes certainly felt normal and seemed to work perfectly fine as usual. With a quiet grunt of pain she would pull her arm over to the reflective object, only moving her arm below the elbow but even that caused a sharp sensation in her shoulders. She took it and raised it as close to her face as she could, though the instant her reflection was visible she knew what Takeo was talking about but there was something else that she noticed, the skin of her arms from the elbow to her hands had dulled to a corpse like gray and her skin had a pattern similar to dry, cracked earth... creepy. Her eyes widened in both shock and curiosity. "Huh... I think they had eyes like this too, though it was kinda dark... I like it. The arms... not so much, they look dead" She mused out loud as she took in the sight, letting slip something she didn't mean to in the process, must be the drugs or jutsu, whatever they put into her seemed to have dropped her guard significantly, perhaps it was just the building itself that made her feel so different.

She finally put down the object and looked to the young boy one again, it really was hard to explain this without just blathering on about her possibly crazy dreams but the eyes kinda sold that it was as real as she believed. "It's hard to explain. I'm not confused about what I did, I'm proud of what I did. I'm confused about what I am so, I guess my eyes are something to do with it... I think I just... awakened." The girl gave a slight smirk as she spoke the final word.

She would extend her smirk into what would be considered a proper smile, for her at least and nodded at Yutaro. He was young but seemed to have a good head on his shoulders and she appreciated that, last thing she wanted was someone bratty shouting about whilst she still felt a bit out of it. "Thanks, I'll keep that in mind Yu. But other than getting me outta here as soon as possible I dunno what I really want." She gave Rin a nod whilst she spoke and he snaked away, thinking he was probably shy she paid it no mind.

She would listen to Tesa and nod along and whilst she certainly understood and agreed with what the demon woman was saying, she simply wouldn't accept it. "If they poison me, I'll survive and find them. If they stab my back, I'll turn around. Death will not take me so long as I have my pride and vengeance in my heart. To kill me they would need to drag me to the feet of the devil himself and you can bet you ass I'd fight him too." Her face had reverted back to her usual flat, expressionless mode but their was clearly passion in her voice. "Knowing what I am... I can't be afraid of anything, including death." She said in almost a whisper as the idea that she truly was a princess seemed to sink in.

Takeo listened as Shinku explained her “condition”. ’Awakened, likea bloodline or something?’ Takeo mused silently. Based on the stony grey color and cracking of her sking, Takeo could only assume she was one of those rock-people they’d studied during the bloodline classes at the Academy, Kyou-somethingorother. Hell, he couldn’t remember everything, could he?

While she received kind words from Yutaro and Rintaro slipped out, their sensei had more harsh words for her; and Takeo begrudgingly agreed with the devil woman. ”Pride and vengeance can’t keep your heart pumping.” He said, furrowing his brow. ”Being resolute in the face of danger is one thing, but foolishly throwing your life away is entirely different. We can’t afford to let our pride compromise our mission’s or our lives, because it’s not just your life that hangs in the balance anymore.”

“We’re about to be shinobi. Whether or not we live or die determines not only whether we accomplish our mission, but also whether or not our comrades survive, not to mention the countless innocents who rely on us to fight for them. If we die needlessly, it’s the same as abandoning them.”

Takeo sighed, turning his eyes to the ground. ”I’m sorry. Everyone has their reasons for fighting, their own beliefs and points of view. I shouldn’t judge you for yours. Just remember that you’re not fighting alone, and you’re not fighting just for yourself. Every shinobi in this village fights alongside you, and they’re relying on you to be willing to fight alongside them, too.” He turned then, and made his way towards the door, pausing for only a moment in the doorway before stepping out. ”Get well soon, we’ve got an exam in Wind soon, and I expect to see you there.”

Listening to to the teacher involving the situation, Yutaro decided to remain silent. She had scolded Shinku enough and the "awakened" Shinku was stuck in her ways it seemed, causing the teacher to storm out.

In a much more gentle way, Takeo scolded her as well. Well, it was more of a mature big brother talk, but Shinku would likely take it as more scolding. In addition, Takeo mentioned the upcoming wind exam. Yutaro wasn't sure if him and his brother would be participating yet, so he'd have to run that by his mother when he headed home.

As Takeo left, Yutaro remained. Placing a hand on Shinkus foot as she laid in bed, Yu began to smile.
"Get well soon." Yutaro said before standing and heading towards the door. "I'll be around to check on you and assist you. Get some rest." Yutaro said before leaving out.

Many things were said and obviously no one could see her side of the spectrum, just like back in the orphanage. Not one of them seemed to get how she felt, it wasn't ever about trying to kill herself it was about pushing herself and forcing her body to crave power, need it and want it. There was no future for shinobi who simply wanted a kiss and a band-aid every time they cut their finger learning to throw a shuriken and she sure as hell wasn't sticking around simply waiting to heal.

She would show everyone the power of her pride one day and she'd do it alone in necessary, she just needed to remember the feeling of that defeat, the pain and shame she felt and use it to push on. As they each said their goodbyes she would nod and thank each of them for coming, she held no grudges even through the somewhat heated discussion if you could call it that. They do what they do because that is how they are and she does what she must because it is built into her and she could not hate people for simply doing what they believe is the right thing... to a degree.

----[Two Days Later]----

It had been a hard couple of days for the girl, living with the pain in her arms and being unable to do much of anything but the doctors seemed pleased and even astonished by her recovery speed. Normally people would have stayed in a couple of weeks with injuries as severe as hers but she'd progressed so fast that they said it would likely take only one more week. That however was still one week longer than the bull headed girl was willing to stick around. Her arms had already got their movement back, though it came with a little pain it was at least bearable. They'd also mentioned during one of the check up about how her body seemed to bleed much slower than other people simply doe to her blood being more viscous, though it was not a medical issue and wouldn't cause problems down the line which was quite useful to have and know.

During the evening she would make her escape, her clothes had been placed nearby, new ones from her academy dorm since the shirt she was brought in with was decimated. She would peel off her wrappings for now, planning to let them breath a little before applying new ones herself and she was quite shocked by what she saw. Just this morning she had seen the wounds and they were scabbed up, red and tender as one would usually expect but now, the scabbing was almost totally gone leaving behind a red, still tender scar on each side of her body and she presumed two behind since she couldn't quite see or stretch that far yet. She figured this "awakening" she'd gone through must have accelerated both her healing abilities and thickened her blood somehow and she was not about to complain as she hopped out of the hospital window and into the night.
