Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

Gen Ryu as the Dormouse was a shy and timid creature not one to entertain a group of adults. No she has her own special little job with in the café quite fitting to her personality. Gen Ryu in her main body was the size of a child and did not look very intimidating unlike some of the other characters. She was the perfect person to entertain the children that visited the café. True not to many venture down the abandon mines, but some do come usually with a parent or guardian. Gen Ryu had her own room that the children would go to for her to entertain. When the time strikes an hour passed noon or she gets enough kids she would begin story time. Her readings were quite entertaining to the young ones and it seems her talents for telling stories spread for today she got quite a turnout. Now of course this was the wonderland café thus this was no average book reading. When the clock struck one the door to the room was shut, Gen Ryu takes a book from the self and sits on the chair. All the kids gather around sitting on the floor and a few parents and other adults joined as well.. The book had a decorative cover which read 'The Tale of the Two Goddesses.' She opens the book and as she begins reading the room begins to change as she speaks the words out loud. "Once upon a time there was a Lady who shone like the sun. Standing on the balcony she looks out on her kingdom. " Soon everybody in the room found themselves on a balcony of a castle. The skies were clear and the sun was shining. From the balcony one can see a vast kingdom down below. Of course this was nothing but an optical illusion, but not a genjutsu. It was a barrier meant to change the terrain of a certain amount of square feet. Those outside the room would find the door was jam and would not budge because the barrier was right up against it.

A figure stood the edge of the balcony, looking down at the kingdom and said, "Surely, there is no person so lovely and so well beloved as I." She was like a knight in shining armor. Golden plates clothed her form from head to toe. The suit was polished to perfection so much so that it shown in the rays of the morning light giving her a majestic aura about her. Despite the beauty there were some imperfections that marred her precious suit. Dents, nicks and cuts littered its surface as evidence of the many battles she has fought over the many centuries of her existence. Evil seemed to have never slept and she must remain always diligent. However, even with these imperfections the suit still serves its purpose. In her hands she holds a mighty sword that could slay even the strongest of mortals with ease. Down the center of the claymore was kanji was inscribed and it read: ‘No evil shall escape my light.’ It was a warning to her enemies and a promise to her children. It was a double edge sword, however like the words it was sharp enough to strike fear into her foes with a single thrust but heavy as the promise is difficult to bear. Even as a goddess she finds the promise threatening to crush her under its weight. The Lady had wings like an angel and when she was first summoned into being she had them stretched out wide and they looked to be like veils of pure fire. Plumage of red, orange and yellow adorn her wings. The feathers shimmered in the light like a flickering flame. Her feathers were unique, though they looked like a birds upon closer inspection one would see not tiny little hairs sprouting from the stem but scales like that of a reptile. The scales were light but durable and were in a sense the armor to her wings. Her wings were the shield to her sword. They were a shield that she can use to not only protect herself from danger, but those she held under her wing as well. Now as she stands before Ryu tall and proud, she folds her wings into what looks to be a long flowing feathery cape. The wings however were not her only animalistic appendage she possessed. Around her legs a crimson tail lightly wraps. The tail was serpentine with yellow and orange fur stemming from its tip like a fine paintbrush. Its scales were like that of her wings. Now unlike the balcony she was an actual illusion; a nightmare jutsu to be exact. As a Hashigaki she was summoned by Ryu's words.

"So great was her reign and so brilliant her glory that long was the shadow she cast, which fell dark upon the young sister she loved and grew only darker as days and nights passed. Soon did that Lady take notice that others did not give her sister her due and neither had she loved her as she deserved. She watched as her sister's unhappiness grew" Behind Ryu was the entrance to the castle; it was a pair of closed window doors. Violet curtains concealed what lied inside. However something then moved the curtains just enough to show a face.

This was the face of the younger sister and from behind the glass one could hear her words as she spoke, “Surely there is nobody who loves me, or finds any love in my night.” Her eyes were that a person that has been permanently blinded by a bright light. Tears of sadness ran down her face, but it was not sadness in her eyes. No, even without her sight she stared at her sister in anger, resentment and jealousy. She too was a genjutsu called Torment of the Physical Plain. It was yet another creation jutsu for what kind of story would it be if only one person could take the stage at a time.

"But such is the way of the limelight, it sweetly takes hold of the mind of its host. That foolish Lady did nothing to stop the destruction of one who had needed her most." As the story played out before them some of the childen decided to get up and look at the scene for different angles. Ryu's story telling was like a play, but with the audience on stage with the actors. They were not within the story, but capable of observing it in a much wider view than any movie. Sometimes upon request Ryu places a person in an interactive story; allowing a person to play the hero and slay the beast.

He wasn't one for storytelling as far as his interests went, the boy being raised to be someone who was part of the world with as few words as possible and still playing his part. If it hadn't been for his fellow students quite feverishly trying to make him partake in the conjoint activities, Yoshihisa had let the opportunity pass by unnoticed and had gone over his other business as usual. But being aware they weren't exactly at fault here, hence the young Toujigikou had finally decided to join his companions on the next occasion, granted most of the credit of this rather questionable achievement going to their dedication to let him be part of this. Reluctance however didn't manage to stay out of sight nor mind for long, rearing its ugly head upon the mention of the location alone, which said a lot: The Wonderland Café wasn't exactly his favorite stop around Iwagakure and Yoshihisa didn't expect his opinion to be swayed by just one performance.

Venturing deeper into the formerly abandoned mines had proven to be an eerie experience in the past, but knowing that for this visit was meant to be entertaining to him and the small group following in his tracks at least managed to ease his mind for the time being, considering their odds of survival might have just increased significantly. That and the continuous reminders from his companions that it wasn't supposed to be something to beat yourself up over. So in the end their leisurely stroll through the halls of the café was actually a quite relaxing one and their entrance being devoid of deathtraps only adding to their content, making it seem almost like it might just be a curious experience after all as they settled in the designated room while waiting for the door to close behind them.

The racket from the gathered crowd died out almost as soon as the Dormouse had taken the centre of the stage, only a few whispers passing between the visitors but all had their eyes on the woman with great expectations. But unlike most of his friends, Yoshihisa didn't seem to be able to grasp the idea of beauty behind it all. Because where they were gaping in awe at the spectacular scenery coming to life at the stage and making the story so much more lively, all he could see were the blurred images and very little of the amazement was captured in the unconscious struggle of his eyes and mind to tear away from the Genjutsu. As the first few tears started to pool up in the corner of his eyes, he decided now more than ever was the right time to consider leaving.

"I'll need a breather in a little bit.."

Gen Ryu notices the man's hands and rolls her eyes. Oh great, one of those clay artisans. I guess this is going to become more of a puppet show. She dismisses her two genjutsu and tells the man, "Don't worry the story is not that long." Ryu would then wait for the man to join back in with the kids before she continues to read. "So great was her pain, she rose in rebellion against those who cared for her most. She let the Nightmare fall on those she ruled and threatened to grip them in permanent cold." The scene then changes and the characters vanished. Instead of a bright sunny day; it was a somber moonlit night and the one standing on the balcony was not the armored figure from before but the one staring through the window. She beautiful woman with hair as dark as night. Woven into her lush locks were gems that shown like stars. The woman dressed like that of royalty with robes of dark violet. Over her eyes was a blindfold. It was the same color as her royal gowns and was marked with a crimson crescent moon. Above the blindfold on her forehead was the mark of a curse seal. Unlike before she was not a genjutsu but a transformed puppet. this should be much easier on the man's eyes. The blind goddess sits on the balcony's railing and begins to sing like she does every night according to the myth.
According to the local Gypsies residing in the village of Stone Luna was the first Hashigaki. She was also known to be the creator of dreams and that she would weave such intricate stories with in the unconscious minds of men by singing a lullaby. However this time will be quite different and her song had a bit of a darker tone than normal. This song did not conjure dreams but nightmares; they were living nightmares created through illusion. All sorts of fiends flew overhead, which probably be better for the man did not look at them or his eye would start to bother him again. Soon the knight-like figure from before bursts the door open in a panic. "Luna, what is this madness?"<i></i>

"Did you really expect for me to sit ideally by as they all bask in your precious light? There can only be one goddess in this kingdom and the goddess shall be ME!" The moon then start to turn a crimson red like that of fleshly spilled blood. Shadows rise from the ground swirling around the goddess of the night and enveloping her in a black sphere. With in the sphere her curse seal forces her to go through a metamorphosis and the sphere shatters in a brilliant explosion. No longer did she bare the appearance of a human. Now she was a mare with a coat as black as a moonless night. She possessed both wing, horn and a mane that resembled a stary night sky.

"Luna, I will not fight you you must stop this"<i></i>

"Luna I am no longer; now I am The Nightmare."
