Name: Sunaku Isako
Bloodline: Sunaku
Age: 9
Gender: Female
Height & Weight: 4’7" and 85 lbs
Physical Description: Isako is a tall girl, standing a few inches taller than even the average boys of her age. She is usually seen wearing light colors, which compliment her pale skin and red hair, odd traits for her heritage from the land of wind. She wears her light red hair up in a ponytail, leaving two long bangs that frame her rounded face.
Mental Description: An excitable girl, Isako constantly has a problem forcing herself to sit still. This also presents itself in her emotional state, prone to outburst of great emotion that she quickly gets over. Fiercely loyal, both to Konoha and her friends, Isako is the type to do anything for those she cares for. Additionally, the girl has made her ‘older sister’ the subject of a slight hero complex.
History:
The life of Sunaku Isako began with a young couple, living far out in the outskirts of the Land of Fire, far from the watchful eye of Konoha, and the dangers of shinobi life. However, one could say that her story truly began a few days after her fifth birthday, at the edge of the sunset, the orange-red of the sun seemingly glaring down at what would soon be the former home of the girl.
Not a single item missing from the house to signify abandonment, or any sign of a struggle that implied kidnapping. They were simply… gone, spirited away with the wind. Distraught, as one would expect a child of that age to be, she ran through every room, checked every hall, and upturned every rug, finding nothing, nothing until she stepped out of the house once more.
Red eyes met brown, both wide in shock, gawking at each other, neither expecting the other. Isako screamed, the other girl screamed, it was very uncomfortable for all parties involved. Several minutes and many unusual curse words later, the two were properly acquainted. On that fateful day, Isako found her way into the care of Uchiha Rin, a Konoha chunin in the right place, at the right time.
For years, the Uchiha raised Isako, training the young girl in many facets of what is needed to be a shinobi from taijutsu, to basic ninjutsu, down to even protocols for paperwork, the only real struggle being her inability to use her bloodline, which created endless frustration in the girl, her tunnel vision approach to awakening it damaging her other skills.
Nevertheless, she’s been fairly successful at the Academy so far, working diligently at her studies, steadily learning ninjutsu and taijutsu, striving to be a greater asset to Konoha, her frustration at her inability to use the Sunaku sand silently simmering under the surface, ever so slowly pushing her to a boiling point.
Bloodline Application:
CRACK
The hollow echo of a tiny fist slamming into wood echoes through the private training ground of the Uchiha Complex. From the sidelines, Uchiha Rin watches the girl’s practice, eyeing the red knuckles that seemed to be so close to bleeding.
“Again.”
A grunt escapes the lips of the redhead as she slams her fist into the wood once more, prompting a little trickle of blood that she doesn’t even seem to notice. Hours upon hours of training, and her form was still lacking, her body just that slight bit off, a mistake that seemed minor, but would no doubt be a clear opening for a smart opponent.
The brunette drops her sharingan, letting out a sigh. Isako was distracted, and she knew it. It wasn’t a new issue, nor was it one that would really go away so easily. They could both feel the mounting pressure, the shorter temper, the sloppier training. She hadn’t made any progress with her bloodline, and the fear of being unable to ever use it was grinding down Isako’s motivation, bit by bit.
“Again.”
With a shout of anger, the fist impacts once more, settling into the rhythm she’d keep for the rest of the day.
A floorboard creaks in the house, echoing through the silent night, sending Isako’s heart skipping a beat. Rin would never be so careless as to make a noise like that. An intruder…? A small hand slips beneath her pillow, the cool steel of a kunai reassuring against her hand.
Small feet press softly against the tatami mat as she slips into the shadows, leveraging as much of her stealth as she could to sneak up on the intruder. It took perhaps a second to spot him, a man dressed in light gray armor reminiscent of that of the ANBU, shaggy black hair coming down to just around his shoulder, his attention seemingly on another part of the house.
Step by step, inch by inch, she closed the distance, hands shaking ever so slightly as she prepared to kill the as of yet unsuspecting intruder. A flash of silver aiming to cleanly sever the spine, but it never made it far. A hand snapped to a grip around Isako’s hand, a sharp twist forcing her to drop it. Before she could even think to counterattack, the tatami mat was against her back, and the breath knocked out of her lungs.
A roll to the side to avoid a knife stab, before she rolls backwards onto her feet, only to come face to face with a kick slamming into her ribs, much harder than Rin had ever hit her, sending her rolling through the shoji, hyperventilating to try and get at least some oxygen into her lungs. This was bad. She was completely outmatched… but that had never stopped her before.
She scrambled backwards, struggling to her feet as the figure stepped through the hole in the rice paper, giving her just enough time to get into a fighting stance before the assault began in earnest. Punches and kicks launched at high speed, every single one effortlessly blocked with a single hand, the opponent only ever so slightly jabbing at her hands and feet as they came flying. It was a hopeless duel.
Deeming the taijutsu exchange pointless, she pushes away, aiming to take a low stance, before realising that she was on her knees, fingers practically useless. That rules out… practically everything else she knew how to use. Crap. She had to think, and think fast, as the man was oh so casually approaching her. She crawled back, a pang of terror running through her as she realised just how bad this was going.
She had to run. It was her only real option, to escape and live to fight another day. Isako breaths in deep, already mentally plotting an escape route out of the house, and how best to lose the man. Another glint of silver in the air was enough to force the girl to react, flipping up a tatami mat to slow it down somewhat, diverting it enough that it only left a cut on her arm. As the mat fell, all that was left was a hole in the shoji, and a single drop of blood.
Every inch of her body was drained, every last drop of energy expended in her frantic escape. So much so that even the act of looking up at her soon-to-be killer was more than she could handle. She didn’t want to die here… Not like this… She had a debt to repay…
At last, the man had reached her, glinting kunai in hand, poised to strike. She was so tired. Resigned to her fate, she waited for the inevitable. With tightly shut eyes she waited, but... it never came. Hesitantly, she opened her eyes.
A kunai, held in a black gloved hand, held just a single inch away from her nose, gripped by a shield of sand tight around the elbow. He frantically tried to pull back, but it did nothing to stop the wet stab coming from behind the shield. Slowly, the sand shield began disappearing, along with any bit of agency she might have had, all she could see being a pair of spinning red eyes, their wielder holding a bloody kunai.
With a quiet utterance of “Nee-chan”, she let her body relax as she was picked up. In her exhaustion, she didn’t notice how the numbness disappeared in an instant, every wound in her body disappearing as the illusion was dropped.

It wasn’t sustainable. Furthermore, it was dangerous. Isako knew that. She knew that she would end up underprepared and in grave danger. That was how she found herself tossing and turning under the pale moonlight, a familiar anger rising up in her chest, like a hand pressing down on her, compressing her lungs, forcing the breath out, a suffocating presence. She pulls the blanket tighter against herself, taking comfort in the feeling.

A cool breeze brushed gently against Isako’s face, her head partially sunk into the cool sand that Rin had pooled outside the house for her to train with, the starry night sky seeming so beautiful, even as she lay drifting between the waking world and that of the sleeping.
Every inch of her body was drained, every last drop of energy expended in her frantic escape. So much so that even the act of looking up at her soon-to-be killer was more than she could handle. She didn’t want to die here… Not like this… She had a debt to repay…
