[b]Sex:[/b] Male [b]Character's Physical Description[/b]: Half human, half implanted body parts, augment slots and attachment slots. Kazumi’s main body has all sorts of compartments to hide the augments and attachments for the most part. He usually covers up most of the body long tops be it turtlenecks or otherwise. Usually only his hands and face can be seen to cover up the parts of his body that aren’t skin. His hair is fairly long on the top, though it doesn’t follow down his back or shoulders as he keeps it fairly neat. He has a bit of stubble growing around his though not much. His expressions are fairly lively though his resting face is almost co [b]Character's Mental Description[/b]: Kazumi is a blank canvas for the most part. He is analytical and watches people’s reactions to change his own to please them. It’s the tech inside him that helps annotate a person’s feelings and adapts his own to the situation. Overall it makes him gregarious, and gives him a desire to socialise more. He is generally interested in how things work, what makes them tick and how to take them apart and put them back together. He is also interested in human psychology and how to best apply it. He also loves acting and with the ability to adapt he makes a good actor. Inside missions Kazumi is formidable, being able to change his personality and play the part of roles in any covert operation. He is also strong willed and usually ignores that damage he felt from attacks since he cannot bleed. However being able to change his thoughts and personalities has caused him to have some personality issues when taking the form of another puppet, though this multiple personality disorder hasn’t cropped up yet. [b]Multiple Personality Application[/b]: Not yet applicable. [b]Character History[/b]: Kazumi was brought up (or rather dragged up) in a cult that dedicated themselves to the development of technology. They believed that spirits guided the technology to do its job and when the spirits were angered that was when you had malfunctions. This was indoctrinated into the young puppeteer at a young age, and with every creation made he would pray that the spirits inside would bless him with success. At first he found that his traps and compartments would hardly work, making him a laughing stock in the academy where he found little success. While most kids were focused on their studies of making clones and shooting fireballs, Kazumi spend most of his days playing with puppets and setting up dumb traps that sometimes worked. He got a few laughs out of fellow kids but in the end he was made fun of for playing with “dollies.” It didn’t take long for people to change their tune when the exams came up and they found he could do the exact same techniques using his puppets. He passed his exams and found himself on a team in his village. All the while he was still praying to the spirits that each contraption he made would not falter when it came to being used. He found that his puppets would better his ability to help others, and take on more demonic like forces due to the protection of the spirits (when they weren’t angry). Eventually his use of traps and his way with puppets caught the attention of Anbu, who offered him training and a place on their infiltration and sabotage squads. He would be able to develop his connection to the spirits in the contraptions, all the while having it guised as just his puppeteering ability. Kinjutsu App/History [spoiler]The colder climates of Kumogakure were never really the season to be working on a mission with puppets. The cold weather could cause so much damage and wreck the wooden bodies of the puppets. Water inside the wood would contract and cause things to splinter, bend, and change shape. Kazumi knew that before going on his latest A rank mission, but ignored the warnings he had inside his mind telling him that it was a bad idea. These were merely “guidelines” on puppet care that Kazumi could ignore in the mission that required bringing a brigand infested village back into care. The mission was meant to be a simple one: Get into the village undetected, fight off some rogue brigands (probably had shinobi level techniques), and get out of there without having any casualties. Simple right? In a team of four highly trained ANBU would be able to secure a village quietly right? Even with slightly faulty puppets in the winter season wouldn’t be an issue, especially when traps were easy to set up. Kazumi would have no issue, or so he believed that he would be fine as long as he had the support. So with puppets stored away somewhere on him, the ANBU team would head out of the village and begin their covert operation to restore power to the people… who would also be influenced by the Raikage of course. The village was only an hours travel or so, but in blistering and cold winds it made the travel a little bit more difficult. He could already feel his fingers beginning to contract and freeze a little, just like how his puppets would. He felt this was a bad omen but couldn’t really justify telling his team to pull back because he had cold hands. No, instead he would press on and end up at the village. It was quiet, and with a number of guards on patrol in the distance. There didn’t seem to be too many. Nine or ten at most. Seemed like the rest were in the tavern or in bed… perfect. Kazumi would prepare a puppet, laying out the traps inside it before moving forward to take on the first guard. It was simple enough, a quick knock out with a couple of puppet jutsu to the face would K.O the guard, and the puppet would tie up the guard to keep him nice and ready for jail. The next guard would be just as easy, or would have been if the puppet parts, and the puppeteer’s hands wouldn’t have begun to freeze up. [i]I better make this quick,[/i] he thought as his hands were starting to feel the burn of the ice. The guard would notice just as he was about to be grabbed by the puppet, and was dragged off the building he was stood on. That was two down… so many more to go. He could see in the distance how deft and swift his team was taking out the border patrol, causing him to feel the energy rush inside of him. He would move to the next guard, feeling his actions getting sloppy as he tried to activate a trap. It wouldn’t open as the puppet would freeze. He would instead alert the guards of his location. Soon the alarms would be going off as he was soon swarmed by men rushing out of the tavern. As intel proved correct they were good at at least basic jutsu. His puppet stood no chance as the sheer number of bandits ripped it to shreds. [b]”Crap,”[/b] he let out a sound behind his mask as he tried to get away, carelessly forgetting that standing in the cold would drain him of his energy. He felt weak and that he would lose consciousness soon. He would just try and use his puppets as much as possible to buy time for his Anbu team to sneak behind. Fires cut through the ice as they hit him, and wind slices from their attacks, as he began to feel his arms and legs sliced, before feeling nothing. His body would fall to the floor, and he would no longer feel anything from the shoulders down. He would awake a week later in the medical centre of Kumogakure. A few presents from visits while he was in the hospital, but not much. He would try and move but couldn’t find the ability to move anything besides his head. He began to panic as he tried to move his arms, or his legs… anything! His vitals would begin to go off the chart as he he screamed in fright. A number of nurses would begin to rush in upon hearing his yelps, and move to calm him, words or medically. Instead of family greeting his return to the world he would instead be greeted by a team of doctors. A team of surgeons were standing by as the doctor began to speak to him. “It’s an amazing feat to recover from your injuries. You had succumb to the cold, followed by a number of injuries sustained from… whatever mission you were assigned to. Impressive… but not without consequence. I can assume from your screams and panics you can see that you’ve been paralysed from the shoulders down. You can move your head, but your body suffered nerve shock and damage from all the attacks and the cold that it stopped you from using your arms and legs. It’s amazing your heart is even beating!”[/b] It did not really seem to comfort Kazumi as he tried to look at his mangled body. He couldn’t feel a thing, move a thing, not think of a future for himself. [b]”S-so I’m just going to be a vegetable for the rest of my life…?”[/b] Kazumi asked, holding back the tears just about as the doctor looked at him and sighed, before looking at the surgeons behind him. [b]”Well… we could provide a procedure to your body that’ll fix everything on you. You’ll be able to grab, run, be a shinobi once again. The only catch is that you’ll be going through an incredibly painful surgery and you won’t look like yourself ever again. But… you were a puppeteer before, right? You’ll be used to your new body… you just gotta agree to it.”[/b] Something inside him told him that that something was wrong with this doctor’s plan… but he didn’t really have much choice. He wasn’t sure if his body could even be healed. He was wheeled away by the doctors to a lab, not an operating room. He felt nervous, but he accepted that he was going to be under the knife whether it was to make him better or to fix him. And he needed fixing to continue his mission. He would feel his eyes begin to drop as he was injected in his neck. His last vision would be of a number of surgeons carrying large sharp items. Awaking once more he could feel pain in his shoulder joints, as well as the joins between his torso and legs. He could feel that he was able to move his… arms? Were they his arms? They didn’t feel like his… [b]”Oh my God I have puppet arms!”[/b] he yelped in his bed. It would be loud, as he looked at his legs. [b]I have puppet legs too! W-what did they do to me?”[/b] The ANBU would panic as he look at his arms and legs. He was somehow able to control them without some kind of strings attached, at least on the outside. He would try to touch his body, and there were some kind of feeling… It was surreal. He could somehow feel pressure, and touch, and he could feel there was still chakra coils there. It just seemed like they removed some of his vitals… and turned him into a puppet of some sort. It was… weird, uncomfortable, kind of scary… but if it meant he could move again then so be it. He would sit up, his puppet arms shaking a little as he tried to find the strength to use them. He was covered in some kind of synthetic material to hide the fact he was pretty much just a moving doll now. Amazing quality work that even he couldn’t really have produced in all his years as a puppeteer. It was strange that there seemed to be places where he could slot body parts on top of his own body parts. He seemed to also be able to launch his own kind of puppet strings from his arms, instead of having them equipped to a puppet. Could he become his own puppet for fighting? He felt faint and woozy as he was still coming to. Sitting up quickly certainly didn’t help as he was soon swarmed again by medical ninja as another head doctor appeared. ”I can see that you’re making a swift recovery. Good because there really isn’t much for you to recover. You’re now free of most human parts, besides important organs and areas that you may need in the future. We have also made your body compatible with a number of puppet variants to attach to you. I suspect that the village will have you become one of their covert ops with this experimental opera- Did I say experimental? I meant experiential operation.” Kazumi was a little concerned, but it was kind of too late now. He was now missing his limbs, and whatever else they took inside of him. He felt cold and like a husk, but maybe attaching a small heater inside of him could replace the blood that seemed to have been removed from him. He would be left in a solo room to recover and start his rehabilitation under the watchful eye of the doctors. This would give him time to work out his actual capabilities, and maybe find a way to find a way out of this existence and get back his body parts to become fully human again. Kazumi could feel the puppet strings pulling inside of him like tendons, and the sense of touch sending sparks down them into the spine and head. It was strange, uncomfortable, and at the same time it felt familiar to him. All the years of puppeteering had ironically made him the best at controlling himself when it came to looking like a puppet. He was lucky that the plastic surgery and skin grafting doctors could do made the limbs look more real, but he knew he would probably still be watched. Maybe the spirits would bless his new body, and give him the ability to maintain the new skin and plastic covering over him.
