Ninpocho Chronicles

Ninpocho Chronicles is a fantasy-ish setting storyline, set in an alternate universe World of Ninjas, where the Naruto and Boruto series take place. This means that none of the canon characters exists, or existed here.

Each ninja starts from the bottom and start their training as an Academy Student. From there they develop abilities akin to that of demigods as they grow in age and experience.

Along the way they gain new friends (or enemies), take on jobs and complete contracts and missions for their respective villages where their training and skill will be tested to their limits.

The sky is the limit as the blank page you see before you can be filled with countless of adventures with your character in the game.

This is Ninpocho Chronicles.

The trip to the Torre was, thankfully, uneventful. Uri had contacted them before they left the gate watch tower, so as to inform of their arrival, as well as to ensure there’s communication going around that he was bringing someone questionable at the moment. But considering the individual was staying well in line, he didn’t see a cause for concern at the moment. The Musashi fellow was quite the helpful man, too, with his very presence and words seemingly have an effect to reign in the masked visitor. Could all their conversations from earlier been true? But it was strange. It didn’t feel family-like at all. But who was he to ascertain what familial relations were when he didn’t exactly have an appropriate example to compare it with?

Entering the Torre’s vicinity, he led the two up the lift and into the reception area just outside of the Raikage’s Office. Dressed in his dark coat and red oni mask, Uri confirmed with receptionist why they were there, and would wait until they were ushered into a waiting room. From there, he would observe the two as they waited for the Raikage’s presence, all the while making brief observations of any trace of chakra pulse that they emitted. No doubt that the Musashi fellow was familiar, and then, it dawned into him.

“Now, I remember you. The other time we had an intruder at the gates, you were the one who ended up fighting that masked man, though there wasn't much to observe when you suddenly sprung up that shadowy dome that covered anything that went on from the inside. That would mean that you’re…” he stopped there before he would accidental reveal that he knew of the man who was supposedly an anbu that fought that day. Still, the chakra pulse was very familiar. “In any case, I appreciate your help at the gates. And I suppose you would understand, then, how necessary it is for this current situation.”

Although Maru did look around at a few places to see about possible places to go exploring, he couldn't help but shake the feeling that a lot of what they were doing was completely unnecessary. For starters, they were told to go to the Raikage to explain themselves even though they really did nothing wrong. The Lady was pretty cool until she saw Umashi, probably already have some lame excuse for taking us in because she was salty about a prank Umashi pulled. His eyes remained narrow, he didn't really see a need to take off his mask since the guy in the Oni mask didn't take his mask off despite knowing they would be seeing the Raikage so he figured it should be alright. If not well he would probably be told to but if you don't ask you don't receive.

The man was telling them how good Umashi responded by taking care of that masked individual at the gates, he could already tell that he was implying that he couldn't see all of the fight so he didn't know what happened and since Maru just came around he didn't really have any idea what they was talking about. At least, Yamaru didn't know. Regardless they had to wait on this kage guy to show up to explain themselves, honestly the lady really had nothing incriminating against them. Just hutches and gut feelings but nothing actually incriminating. The most the might get in trouble for was probably saying that this passport was a fake even though it was a legit, at least to Maru it was. Besides that, he didn't see that they did nothing wrong but he guessed that this was punishment for wasting poor Aqua’s time.

Musashi looked over at the ANBU kiddo as he spoke far too much and shook his head. "You speak of things that need not be mentioned among us . . ." It was both a warning and a good natured request. Either the guy was going to do his job and get them to the Raikage or he was going to keep on babbling about stuff. Besides, the ANBU were supposed to keep their mouths shut and to focus on the job. Whoever their Sennin was, would definitely be hearing from Musashi one way or the other. This was just ridiculous. Either way, whatever the case, Musashi kept a good poker face about himself and continued to walk until they got to where they were going. There wasn't much to mention until they reached Ayumu so he kept it short, sweet and to the point.

OOC: Extra uber crappy crap post but . . . more to come when Ayumu is reached.

Odd calls from the gate were frankly commonplace for Ayumu to receive. After all, if it were business as usual they'd have no reason to involve him. Still, it was enough for him to wonder what percentage of the people that showed up at the gates were some kind of weirdo. It seemed high from his perspective. After hearing that they were coming, Ayumu prepared himself to receive the group incoming from the gates. He tidied up his desk a bit, stacking papers that could be stacked and organizing the stacks to be a bit more aesthetically pleasing. Hearing that a masked stranger was to arrive from the gates, the guards were just a bit on edge. After all, it hadn't been long ago that the chemical attack that the Sennin's daughter had unfortunately taken the brunt of had nearly threatened that Sennin and Ayumu himself. Anybody could be a threat, especially an unknown masked man. Even Ayumu was a bit suspicious, though that changed to what amounted to mostly curiosity when the group showed up at the door of his office. Counted among them was Umashi, whom was going by the name Musashi currently, an identity he had adopted to avoid complications to him joining the village's ranks despite being a former Hokage.

"...Musashi," Ayumu greeted the man as he entered, accompanied by a questioning glance. He was without his mask presently and apparently was vouching for this foreigner with an unusual mask to enter the village. Right, well this was strange even for the gate calls Ayumu usually received. What was this about? Ayumu noted the ANBU, familiar but not easily identified with his own mask donned. "Right, well, so who would like to explain what's going on?" Ayumu asked, keeping the question open ended. He had a feeling that before this meeting was through he'd need to have a private word with Umashi.

No sooner would they arrive in the office and him trying to, at least, diffuse the tension, that Uri gets a harsh criticism from the man called Musashi. If he ever had fox-ears, they’d probably be flat just about then, as he glanced to the side. Was it so much of a problem? He had been berated before for being so un-cooperative-looking and he had been trying to ease up on the way he treated his students too, but just when he thought it was working, this happened.

Finally, the Raikage appeared and he was rather glad. He couldn’t help but feel the same awe as he would whenever he sees the man. It was like being a kid again and watching your favorite superhero or something. In any case, he wasn’t as starstruck as he should be and quickly remembered his reason for coming to the Torre.

“As per earlier communication, I brought with me these two as per suggestion of Main Branch Sennin Lady Yuii,” began Uri, taking a step forward. “Not too long ago, this masked individual, Yamamoto Yamaru, from Iwagakure, was requesting entry through our gates. Reason was to rendezvous with a certain family member Yamamoto Musashi. But he refused to take off his mask and I had to confirm it. After which, Lady Yuii requested for Yamamoto Musashi to come and confirm the visitor’s identity, but that didn’t go down well, and she ended up suggesting it was best to bring this matter to your attention.”

Uri reached out to give the passport to Ayumu. “The passport of the visitor. Almost brand new and perfectly in order.”

‘Refused to take off mask?’ Maru thought. Truth be told they only mentioned that he had on mask, it wasn't actually requested of him to remove his mask. “Well that part about the requesting to take off my mask isn't true. If this kind sir would've actually asked me to remove my mask I would've taken it off, he and your Senin didn't exactly ASKED so I figured it was okay. If it was hinted, then I apologize for that but I can't refuse something that wasn't asked." Maru shrugged his shoulders. “Besides, it's mostly a fashion statement for me. I would've listened since this guy is a part of that superhero branch you got here… Always figured since ANBU keep their identities hidden and wear cool mask that they are a league of superhero’s.” Maru said, sounding like he legit believed that the ANBU were superhero's. He really didn't have to hide his face since he rebirthed into different bodies like some manga snake villain he read about, his face was always changing so it wasn't like he kept on looking the same forever. If he wanted to hide his identity, he could've simply changed his face.

Actually unsure how this meeting would go, the thing he found odd was how they had to to register Kinjustu with the medical center here. Back in the village he was in, they didn't really require such a thing so when he heard this needless to say that he was surprised. “Oh!- back at the gates the Senin said we had to tell the medical branch our Kinjustu that is if I'm allowed this visit. Is that true? I mean it's not a problem but you see I think the doctors won't believe me when I tell them that I have a cute, wooden, blondie doll I had since I was a genin that just so happens to have intelligence is my Kinjustu.” He said, actually wondering if he really did have to let the medical branch know. He didn't exactly know if his signature weapon could actually talk to other people so just in case Kawaii decided to play normal he wouldn't get locked up in a mental asylum for believing that his weapon was alive and spoke in a adorable high pitch voice.

Musashi . . . was even more annoyed than he was letting off but in order to win the game, one had to play the game. "A pleasure to see you today Raikage-sama . . . I assure you that this is all a big misunderstanding. One that can be clearly explained in a few brief statements." Snapping his fingers and materializing a clipboard with paper and pen via the sort of Tsukumogami shinobi tricks that almost creeped people out, he eye'd the ANBU guy who'd escorted them in and turned so that only Ayumu could see his words. In his letter of sorts, he explained that Maru was a free shinobi of no nation who'd been given his freedom by Konoha . . . mostly because the current Hokage was a bit of a tool of sorts . . . and had been employed by Musashi so as to keep the kid off the streets and relatively out of trouble.

He further explained that Yamaru was indeed a young man who loved the ladies but overall was a loyal shinobi if given proper direction. The papers, were honestly earned and given and ultimately if Kumo wished to take the boy in or not was up to Ayumu. The bottom line as Musashi saw it was that the boy was harmless, in the way that shinobi tended to be harmless and he reiterated again that this was all a big misunderstanding especially since there had been no violent acts by Yamaru. Finishing his writing, he held up the long letter like note for Ayumu to read as he double checked that the ANBU guy couldn't read what had been written. Clearing his throat, he began to speak on what he felt comfortable letting be overheard.
"So while I get that Iwagakure's passports are cut from a different cloth and barely show signs of wear and tear, Yamaru isn't a threat to Kumogakure and on that, I'm willing to bet my life." His words said . . . now was the time to see if he had any more coins in the Kumo clout bank account that he'd recently opened.

Ayumu allowed himself to listen to the explanations as each person present took their turn. The ANBU was the first to step forward, giving his report on the situation. He explained that the masked man, Yamaru, had come to the gates requesting to be allowed inside to meet up with his family- Musashi. Of course, Ayumu had a bit of a problem with that explanation. See, to his understanding, Yamamoto Musashi was the name that Umashi had assumed upon coming to Kumogakure. Yet, somehow this Yamamoto clan had grown to include a new member from Iwagakure with a passport signed by Umashi from back in the day when he himself was a member of Iwa? Ayumu's expression did not change as he noted this detail, though he stole a glance at Umashi, Musashi rather, whom was surely anticipating Ayumu's confusion. It also occurred to him that he had not yet had the opportunity to alert Yuii to Musashi's presence in the village, so he'd be hearing about that later.

Next, the masked stranger spoke in protest claiming he had never refused to remove his mask. According to him, he had never actually been asked to. He declared that, in fact, the mask was nothing more than a fashion statement which led to him revealing his interesting view that ANBU were a league of masked superheroes. That aside, he asked about registering his Kinjutsu, something that Yuii had purportedly mentioned to him at the gates as a likely precaution he'd have to go through if he were allowed to remain in the village. The nature of his Kinjutsu didn't really interest Ayumu but indeed it would need to be registered... if he remained.

Finally, it came time for the explanation Ayumu had truly been waiting for. Musashi assured Ayumu that it was all a big misunderstanding. This was one misunderstanding Ayumu was very interested to hear cleared up. But he wouldn't hear it. A snap of his fingers gave Musashi another means to communicate a bit more privately. After a few moments of writing, he turned the notepad for Ayumu to see and so he began to understand. The masked one was an unaffiliated shinobi- a mercenary so to speak. Yet like most he hadn't always been. He was a former member of Konoha, thanks to the new Hokage supposedly. Musashi's distaste for his replacement was noted. Musashi held a different opinion of the once-Konoha shinobi, and seemed willing to stick his neck out for him, obviously. Speaking again, Musashi maintained his ruse for the benefit of the ANBU present before leaving the floor for Ayumu to decide what to do with this new information.

Ayumu sighed, scratching his head as he digested the situation at hand. Musashi wanted him to give the masked one a chance, to trust his judgement. Ayumu knew nothing about the guy except that Konoha had decided they'd rather release him from duty than continue dealing with him. Yet, Ayumu had plenty of good experiences with former Konoha shinobi. If Musashi was vouching for the man, perhaps they could give him a chance. "Fine, I'll allow it. He can remain in the village for the time being. That said, Musashi, since you are vouching for him he is your responsibility... as is his conduct in the village. I assume that's fine with you,"<i></i> Ayumu decided, looking between Musashi and Yamaru.

"That said, I would like you to remove your mask, since you say that it's no problem for you.. and once we're finished here, I'd like you to head down to our passport office and get an official verified photo taken to add to your passport while you're here. You can wear your mask if it suits you, but if anybody with the proper authority asks, you'll need to remove the mask to verify your identity with the photograph. Keep that passport on you at all times, by the way,"<i></i> Ayumu added, laying down some ground rules. Ayumu knew plent of shinobi that liked to wear masks, even non-ANBU, but when it came to visitors, precautions were more important to him than preferences.

"Are we all in agreement?"<i></i> Ayumu asked, looking to those concerned.

He was pretty lucky that he had Umashi backing him, the part about not being dangerous was pretty true. Of course, he did reveal the part about konoha parting him from duty which meant he was a shinobi without a village but it looks like the Raikage was gonna give him a chance too. Only, he was Umashi’s responsibility which was cool with him plus it wasn't like they could blame his village or anything. So it looked like he was pretty much good to go, however he was actually asked this time to take off his mask since he didn't have a problem with it. It wasn't like anyone could recognize him since he was rarely seen without a mask, not even his students knew what he looked like underneath his mask and one student who did know what he looked like…. Passed away.

Maru shrugged then brought his hand to his face to grab the end of his mask then removed it to reveal that he had on another mask underneath his original mask! This one was a all black mask trimmed in gold that he had on just in case people got curious and decided to remove his mask without his permission. Tucking his original mask underneath his armpit, he dropped the mask summoning Justu so his second mask would simply turn to vapor to reveal his actual face. Nothing was out of the ordinary for the exception of the scar on his left eye that kinda looked a reddish purple, it wasn't a black eye but it looked like he suffered from a nasty burn wound with a mixture of a part of his soul leaving his left eye hence the purple completion. Not to mention the eye didn't follow the other which was kinda odd. “Yeah sorry about the second mask, it's just funny to see the shocked look of people when they try to remove my mask without asking to find another mask.” He chuckled, while giving a thumbs up. “So we good now right?” He asked, making sure that everything was alright before he decided to exit.

After explaining to the Raikage, the latter would press on for more details from the Musashi fellow. Uri couldn’t help but feel as though there was a certain connection between the Raikage and this man. With all the secrecy and the seemingly voiceless understanding between them, he couldn’t help but glance at Yamaru and wonder if this person’s presence in the village was part of that which needs to be kept secret. Would make sense about the mask deal. And when he thought about it, it made Uri feel a little down. There was so much he could learn, and still so much more he needs to learn. He really was just a gate guard.

He sighed silently as Yamaru would commence to take off the mask as requested. One after another. He smirked at the thought that the man had actually took extra precaution to hide his identity. Then perhaps, he really was someone important, even if he looked quite ordinary. Attractive, yes, but nothing out of the ordinary. And with that done, Uri would make a mental note of the person’s facial features.

“If everything is in order, and if there’s nothing else that requires me here, Raikage-sama, may I take my leave? As always, any reports from the gate will be at your desk by tonight.” Facing the two, he would give a courteous nod. “I apologize for any inconvenience.”
