Akihiko was born into a mostly normal family, though quite large. His family of farmers lived on the outskirts of the leaf. He was the sixth child born, and yet, not the youngest. He has three older brothers, Ichiro(21), Jiro(20), Fumio(19), whom he does not like to talk to, or about, then he has two older sisters, twins Ayaka (18), and Ayako(18). He is the sixth, after him is four younger brothers, Akira (16), Hiro (15), Iwao (14), and Harou (12). He has four younger sisters, Mizuki (13), Azumi (11), Chika (10), and last but not least, the baby of the family, Emi. Emi is the last child born and currently only 6 years old. Also a surprise, since their mother, Chiyo, was pretty old by the time she had her. Their father, Hisashi, usually worked in the field.
The family was relatively new to farming, second generation, before that, it was merchants, and before that, Shinobi. The past four generations ignored their Shinobi abilities, some used it in their work, but since they had no use for it, none of them trained. Ichiro was going to inherit the farm, and Ayaka and Ayako wanted to open a tailor shop. Jiro wanted to just stay on the farm. Harou was into books and wanted to learn more. Akira and Hiro didn’t have many plans, they probably would stay and work on the farm. Mizuki wanted to have her own flower shop, she didn’t want to grow ugly vegetables all her life. Azumi was a fireball, and a tomboy, she was always picking fights with her other siblings. Chika, well she stuck with herself, she was shy? She didn’t stand out much like her other siblings. She was babied like Emi for a few years, but then Emi was born. Emi just was given anything she asked for since their mother didn’t have the right to tell her no.
Akihiko wanted to be a Shinobi, and explore the land. Anytime he mentioned it, his family would take it as a joke, who wants to be a shinobI? They believed that being a shinobi wasn’t important, farming, or even running a shop was much more important and provided much more to the people. Food, and goods, that's what they believed.
Akihiko was four when he first saw a shinobi, or at least he could remember, that shinobi was a lightning shinobi, powerful. He couldn’t stop talking about how cool he was, and how he wanted to be a shinobi just like him. His parents shrugged it off, it’d be something he would grow out of.
Akihiko accepted that his family would not take him seriously, so he took the firsts steps by himself. He trained on his own, and eventually, he found that same shinobi and begged him to teach him how to use ninjutsu. The Shinobi did not accept, he believed that Akihiko was too young to even try, but Akihiko finally convinced him. It took weeks upon weeks of hard training with the lightning shinobi before Akihiko had any results. He was finally able to muster up electricity, a tiny bit, but it was something. Every day for about four years, Akihiko trained, with or without the shinobi. Most of the time on his own, his goal was to get into the academy.
During this time he discovered his family was descendants of the great Santaru clan. He found this information out from his father while working in the field. Back when the family actually were ninjas, they were storm shinobi, mastering the sky. Akihiko, of course, knew that that blood was still strong with them, all they had to do was try. So he went to the library to find out more about his bloodline, and how to use it. He was able to find some books, donated by Kumo, about the Santaru clan, and their jutsu.
At the age of eight, Akihiko was able to use some of his bloodlines Jutsu, roughly. He knew the basic jutsu’s, and he was taijutsu efficient. His parents barely knew he was training, he had talked about it, but they didn’t take it seriously, plus they had seven other kids, and a farm to take care of. When Akihiko told him he would be starting in the Academy, it was a shock to them. They straight up said no, and refused to sign any of the papers. Akihiko was distraught about this, but he didn’t give up his dream.
Akihiko tried every day to get his parents to agree, he showed off his jutsu, and showed his strength through work on the farm. His mother was the first to cave in, if he wanted it so badly, then it wouldn’t hurt, she believed that he’d give up after a few weeks. She talked his father into agreeing as well, and Akihiko was able to go to the academy. His mother had just had Emi at this point so she wouldn’t have much time for Akihiko anyways.
Akihiko was able to get through a year of being an Academy student. He was already skilled in Ninjutsu, and taijutsu, so he pushed for an exam. During this time he found the medical side of being a shinobi. He was interested in healing jutsu and being able to help others a lot better. Being a doctor was something else he wanted to be, of course not as bad as he wanted to be a shinobi, but why not be both? Kick ass and heal the injured.
Akihiko looked into becoming a MiT instead of a genin. He took lessons at the hospital, and from Mednins. He tagged along on a few medical missions, low-rank ones, and was able to learn a few things. Before he knew it he was fully into being a healer. He still liked fighting head on, but he wanted to be able to help as many people as he could. He was good at chakra control, and he had plenty to spare.
So he took a MiT exam and became a MiT straight out of the academy at the age of 10. In order to get up in the ranks, he would need to train, he learned more medical ninjutsu over the years. He mastered most of them, he learned how to use Healing jutsu better and more efficient. His time as a MiT was spent training and learning how to conserve chakra, and use it in better ways.
When he turned 13 he pushed for a promotion, he knew he was ready. His exam was simple but difficult, it was a mission out of town to help a smaller village with a crisis. They were ravaged by bandits, most of the building destroyed, and a lot of people hurt. He was sent there to help heal over a hundred people. The true test was seeing how he would react to such a sight. When he arrived it was barely a day, blood splattered everywhere, and the dead were laid out. He was… taken back, but this is what he wanted to do, help people. It was sad to see something like this, but he knew he could not allow his emotions to get in the way.
His final test was an emergency surgery, a woman came in with internal bleeding, and was on death's doorstep. It had been two days since the attack, but she did not get medical help. Akihiko was tasked with her since he wanted to get ranked up, what a better way than a pressure test. He took the task without a second thought, he couldn’t hesitate, not even once. He followed directions from a Mednin since he had really never done it before, but he had studied it, and watched this before. The mednin’s watching, and making sure he didn’t screw up put an extra weight on him.
The surgery took an hour, but they were able to keep her stable. Once he was done, she would be okay. Of course, she’d need to go to the Konoha’s hospital as soon as they could move her.
That day Akihiko became a mednin. His parents were proud, even if they were against his decisions in the first place. Akihiko only wanted to move up from there, so he started a research journey. He was 14 when he left. He was doing missions all over the land and writing his own research journal. His research was about bloodlines, their origins, and the legends surrounding them. He visited Suna, Iwa, and Kumo. With all the smaller villages in between. He had filled at least four journals with research, and notes. One of his journals had a few chapters about kinjutsu, but he was focusing on Bloodlines for now.
On was satisfied, Akihiko made his way back home.
